Relaxed and cosy tavern.Good parma and good service. Not to mention the sides are customizable and sauce& addition are only 50cents and quite generous.
I've been walking past this place for years and never stopped by. Today I stopped for a beer and they had the option of outdoor seating which was handy. Well priced beers and good service
The Irish is always a good choice if you want some decent pub grub. My main go to is the porterhouse steak and in the 6-7 years that I’ve been going to the Irish (very on and off) the food has always remained consistent!
Awesome local pub with all the favourites. Never disappoints and always at a good price. Can't fault the service always professional and prompt. Absolutely recommend for an easy night out and a couple of drinks
Solid pub food. The lamb shanks are good. The booths are a bit cramped to sit in, and the back part of the restaurant lacks a bit of atmosphere, but not bad for a quick lunch.
Even though the decor is aged and it attracts the areas worst patrons at night, it’s not a bad place for a beer and feed during the day when it’s not so full.
$20 for a very decent parma with a pint of your choice is value rarely seen these days. Good size portions and choice of sides too. Thursday has the additional international flavoured parmas also.
Recommended during the afternoon. Avoid at night.
Who doesn't enjoy a night at the rish. Drinks are cheap, the Parma's are delicious and it is a good place to go whether it is to catch up with friends or have a dance.
The chicken parma they have in this restaurant is the best parma you can get in Melbourne!
Crispy on the outside juicy and flavorful inside and generous on mozzarella cheese!
I can have it once a week!
Will definitely come back!
Food is great, but is it a pub, expect pub grub!! Staff are friendly, avoid on a Monday night, it is industry night and gets very loud and loose, great local
Pub tho
Great pub food with a nice atmosphere and great drinks. I usually get the seamus burger and my mate gets the parma. If you want a lunch or dinner out with friends this is the place to go. Also if you want a suburban nightclub go here after 11pm
Tops pub food, never a let down. Quick service and friendly staff. Most definitely make the best chicken snitty in the area!! Always a great hit with everybody.
Fondly referred to as 'The Irish' by locals and fellow Melbournites, this is the home of the best Chicken Parmigiana, at least in my opinion.
Admittedly I have never been game enough to venture away from their signature dish. I can only comment on the Chicken Parmigiana and their large array of alcoholic beverages. Seamus O'Toole is known for consistently time and time again serving up the most delicious Chicken Parmigiana's known to man. The chicken breast is filleted perfectly so as not to include the tiniest bit of fat. The chicken schnitzel is both thick and juicy, topped with loads of tomato paste, delicious ham and smothered in melted cheese. The side of chips are well-seasoned and crunchy and the salad is always generous and fresh, coated in just the right amount of creamy dressing.
Everyday you can enjoy a Pot and Parma for $17, and the quality never wavers. It's a great cheap eat, even if the dining setting is due for an upgrade or a bit of a spruce up. I do recommend dining in early on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday night, as 'The Irish' becomes a popular night venue for the under 20's after 9pm.
Long time fan of this pub. We haven't been here for a while and since it was movie night, decided to pay it a visit. How can anyone go wrong when a Parma and pot is $16? The Parma was huge. Amazing that it was succulent and very tasty. The mash was yummy and creamy. They haven't changed the salad in years but why muck around with a formulae that works. This is not masterchefy but real honest yummy pub grub.
Really only ever come here for a Parma and pot, but that happens quite regularly. Thought it was worth a shout out. Good value and an even better Parma. For a pub it does alright. Cheers.
I had a margerita pizza, a couple of coors and bulmers! Both on tap!!! With all the other restaurants around. Youd think this place would be the pits. But suprised me, great service. Ice cold drinks and a great tasty pizza!!!
Had a lovely lunch with the family. Staff were fantastic. Prices/meal deals great. Not everything was available - but, we did get there late and, there was a fairly big gap between the first and last diner's meal delivery, but that did not spoil the experience. Highly recommend SO'Ts
Love this place on a monday for a fun night, thought we would get there early and eat prior. Went the parma and pot and wasnt expecting much for the 16$ value. I was wrong this was a great parma and and great value.
The place to be: for the best pub food, and the best Guinness in Melbourne!
All at prices that is very affordable. All served by a really caring and polite staff.
The Always Faithful Pot & Parma!. Have had a Parma at The Irish more times then I can count and every-time, it never disappoints! For starters, $14 for a Parma and a pot is great value. They've even added Bulmers recently on tap so you can get that instead of beer! (or soft drink if preferred). Chicken is always juicy and chips cooked well. (if you're a fan of tartar I'd recommend it for the chips - the bf actually puts it on top of his Parma...). They are generous with everything on the plate as you can see by the pics. Salad should also be judged when ordering a Parma and this is one of the best! Fresh julienne carrots, capsicum and cucumber with lettuce. And when you say no chips, but replace with more salad, they actually listen and give you half a plate of salad. All in all, will always continue to come here for what I'd say is the best Parma in Melbourne (so far), I've tried my fair share, but always seem to compare to this!
Best guiness is town. Only had one bad meal there in last few visits and they bent over backwards to look after us.
Great place for a pot & parma. Front of house staff are so attentive & help add to a warm atmosphere. Beware if you have food intolerances, as even the kitchen staff insisted that there was no onion used in a pizza I ordered, when in fact there was. So make sure to be cautious with what you order. However staff will hastily remedy any mistakes or miscommunications & genuinely aim to please!
Great atmosphere & food. We ate here for the first time last night, and we were delighted with our meals. The atmosphere is fantastic, our waitress was very friendly and even came over and said good-bye to us when we were leaving. The portion sizes were enough for us 'real foodies'. I must admit that I was hesitant about going, but was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, which was served quickly after we ordered. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a 1970's pub in inner Melbourne. Not so sure about how truly Irish it is, but a lick of paint wouldn't go astray. It was noisy but we will go back again, for sure.
The food here is consistently good, no matter what we order. I am always incredibly disappointed when I go to a restaurant, order something thats twice the price of anything at 'the Irish' and it tastes horrible. Please keep up your standards and pricing model and you will be busy for a long time to come.
Crap venue but good food. Place is smelly and gets loud and busy on Friday / Saturday nights but the food is yum!!
I always come to this Irish pub for the best Parma's in Melbourne. Very delicious and filling and definitley worth the $18 for a Parma, monster sized side serve of Chips and Salad and a pint of Pure Blonde. Warning to those who are small eaters, I have yet to see any of my mates finish the entire plate of food except for me! Love it!
Very hearty, tasty fare. We had the Guinness pie, Sheppards pie, spaghetti bolognaise and a side of garlic bread.
Only drawback was the noise level on a Saturday night was very, very loud. Which made conversing almost impossible unless you can read lips.
But overall, I'd come back for the good. Always love some good Irish pub food, and Seamus O'Toole has it.
Good Parma. Finally found a decent chicken parma in the area.
Cheap as well. Only disappointment was the chips were too salty.
But definately be back for the good quality parma!
$14 for a pot n Parma! Can't go wrong! Or $13 for just the Parma. Pretty good Parma too!

Chicken Parma to Die For!. The life of the Knox Ozone mall. This pub has a great atmosphere amongst the traditional Irish Pub style decor and setting including Guinness barrels and dark timber basicly everywhere. It has dining booths and tables down the back and up the front is seating by the form of stools around large wooden barrels and bar style seating with benches on the open windows. a nice perch to sit for a brew and meal on a sunny day.
I have had various experiences with the staff here. Some being extremely helpful and others it is as if they don't even want to say hi. But this is compensated by the large selection of beverages and Bulmers Ciders (apple and pear) on tap.
The food menu is quite extensive and has, as with most Irish Pub's, a nice menu section with some Traditional Irish Dishes. The prices are quite acceptable considering a pub in the area and what they must be paying for rent in this place.
All the dishes are very generous servings and full of flavour and for a Counter Meal are surprisingly well presented. Although what brings me back here time after time is their ever popular Chicken Parmigiana. A large, thick, moist chicken breast is served with a selection of either veggies or salad. The Parma has a nice quality napoli sauce and is finished with a nice trim of ham and cheese. This meal is quite large and for under $15 for a Parma and a pot, it is the best value feed in the strip.
Saying that, I would not recommend dining here after 7:30pm, as the place gets quite rowdy and attracts all sorts of interesting characters who come for a pint.... or 12. I think you get the idea.
Good value pub in the heart of Ozone.... Extensive menu and great deals.
Food is served quick regardless of the number of people ordering, great taste (for a pub), and more than filling.
If you're coming here for a meal make it breakfast, lunch or an early dinner. This place is a ratty nightspot...
Although the weather hasn’t been too great lately, having a hearty meal like this really cures all the winter blues and fills hungry stomaches. I’m not sure if live music is on every night, but at least on Friday nights, you’ll be able to enjoy the somewhat loud melodies of a live band, as well as the chatters of many people hiding in this wonderful Irish pub, behind a glass of beer and a good ol’ Irish meal.

Love this pub. Never fail my expectations. Food is excellent and inexpensive. Good selection of beer and coffee available in mug. Lunch in everyone's budget when visiting Knox.
Nice Irish pub/bistro with delicious meals. I had the chicken parmigiana, was absolutely delicious as was the mash and vegies.
I liked this pub. Good atmosphere and good food. Will go again.
Not only is this a top notch pub with a great atmosphere, the food is incredible too! And the hollandaise is by far the best I've ever tasted.
Great atmosphere. Friendly staff. Toilets are clean. Food is yummy. Huge selection to choose from. Large servings. Cocktails are well made. Place is clean. Indoor and outdoor seating. Only negative is the furniture needs a lot of love and attention.
Great food and a fantastic atmosphere.
I actually really like this place. Great selection of beers, ciders on tap. The Parma is on point and the other menu items have always been good to. Exceptional value I would say. Perfect place for a catch up/ hang out with mates that is pretty low key.
