There are many restaurants and cafes in Warrandyte and having returned to this one after many years, I was pleasantly surprised how good it is.
Located on the east side of the shopping area, set back from the road, FFAS has an extensive menu that frankly, I didn’t know what to choose because it all looked so great. In the end I had a chicken Caesar salad and my daughter had a chunky beef pie with salad and wedges. The portion sizes were fabulous and extremely generous. Taste - excellent. And a note that the side salad wasn’t just lettuce and a slice of cucumber - it had beetroot, tomato, carrot and mushroom. You don’t see that every day.
What stood out for me though was the staff and their interaction with customers. Genuine. Thoughtful. Efficient. Good old fashioned customer service.
You can dine indoors or out under the large brollies - either is nice.
We will return.
Notes: wheelchair friendly (there was actually a diner in a wheelchair so I know it’s accessibility), toilets available but not wheelchair accessible. Kid friendly. Good parking it the front or across the road on the river side.

probably one of the better smashed avocado combinations i've had 👌 great balance of flavours that was topped off with a tasty balsamic glaze 😍 great spot overlooking the yarra 😊 8.5/10 for portion, flavour and price ☑
As the General Manager of Qantas Catering, I & the other 4 people in my group found Customer service fantastic with nice attentive, staff, food fresh and generous service and ambient warm and inviting
Really lovely cafe in the stunning location of Warrandyte.
Service was excellent and very friendly with delicious treats and wonderful coffee.
We look forward to returning here again.
Great coffee and delicious food. Very reasonably priced compared to nearby cafes. We had the quiche and scones and they were great. Highly recommended if in the area.
Great food been there twice now. This week had possibly the best focaccia ever - chicken, avo and bacon in their aoli sauce and came with a sizable and delicious side salad (with Italian dressing on the side) Bloody marvelous that. Hubby has beef and chili been filo which he said was delicious. Very generous servings. Great coffees and attentive wait staff. Speaking of which, the owners should be congratulated for hiring mature wait staff. The lady we had was very mature but professional and efficient. Kudos to the owners.
I opted for the ‘Korma Curry Vegetarian Pie – sautéed onion, ginger, garlic and curry spices, with vegetables and finished in lime juice and mint, served with chips ($10.90)’. What a delicious pie! The filling had a gorgeous flavour where you could really taste the spices. The mountain of chips and the delightful relish were just icing on the cake...
We stopped here at the beginning of our road trip-we we're planning coffee only, but we stayed for breakfast. Yummy food, great coffee and friendly staff that clearly love their work. Don't miss the orange friand. A great stop in any season.
Great service and great food. Doesn't have the hipster aesthetic of most cafes these days- just a generous plate of food for a good price. Waitress was really friendly and helpful when we needed to alter a meal. Would happily go back!
We made an unplanned stop at this place to have lunch because we were too hungry to continue our road trip. Turned out i might have found what i think as one of the best wedges in Victoria. The wedges were soft and crunchy on the skin, reminded me of a roasted pork belly or crispy skin salmon. It came as a side for a burger which was also awesome. Not so much for the bun or toppings but the patty was great. We also ordered chicken parma which was okay but the side salad got an extra surprise.... A string of hair which we were sure not ours....
Excellent food and snacks. The potato leak and bacon soup was smooth and yummy while the wedges were crunchy, warm and just yum. Great place and nice cakes.
Grabbed my standard flat white from here this morning. Serving up a favorite of mine beraldo coffee beans, was a perfectly made flat white. Spot on coffee/water/milk/froth mix. For only 3.90! Under 4 for a large coffee thats not warm milk!!! I ranked it a 5 because they also cook all there cakes scones slices and muffins on site! I didnt try any im on a diet. But when im due for my treat im heading here
Really good value for money.
All food is homemade including the wedges which are incredible, portion size is reasonable with good amounts of sour cream and sweet chilli. My friend ordered a burger who said was delicious and quite filling.
The milkshakes were full of flavour not plain or milky which is how I like it.
Will be going back!
Stopped there on our way back from Panton Hill winery. Nice place, good ambience, helpful and friendly staff.
Ordered chicken parma with wedges and salad for myself, and small lentil and vegies soupe du jour plus small chicken salad with anchovies for my wife.
Portions were very generous (even small ones !) which was amazing! They do not cut corners there ! Service was reasonably quick and very friendly.
It's a shame that we live so far away or we would make it our favourite spot! By the way, prices are pretty cheap - all this cost us less then $40 !
By far, an excellent dining experience!
Gluten free morning delight. My friend (who has coeliac's) and I found this cafe to be a fantastic place to enjoy Sunday breakfast.
The staff were well aware of the importance of zero contamination and were very friendly and attentive with their service.
The gluten free scones were amazing!! Large, hot and fluffy served with a lovely jam and cream. I personally found them just as good as regular non-GF scones. We also had a fruit salad to share which was a generous serving and the fruit was very fresh.
We will be returning to try out the other gluten free friendly options such as pancakes with a range of toppings and banana and maple bread!
Great location, friendly staff, great choice of food for breakfast. Good coffee. Never had to wait too long.
Always good!. Great for brunch or lunch. Love their baked potato, adapted for me (vegetarian) - minus bacon, plus avocado. The accompanying salad is the best ever - lots of variety and beautifully presented. Add great coffee and relaxed service with a smile and there's few better places to eat!
Excellent breakfast with fast service! The folks make a lovely coffee too. Great views of Warrandyte from the outdoor area. Highly recommend the scones, delicious! I will certainly be going back.
Great food with a great outdoor feel. Headed here ages ago with my rother and then again with a mate of mine..
the wedges are probably the best i've ever had in australia and they had this chocolate souffle or something that was amazing as well...
food wise this place was not a let down and the service was friendly and prompt...
great for the summer and spring time...
but the inside looks inviting and warm as well for the colder months....
might head here tomorrow for brunch actually...
What a lovely surprise dto fined a refreshingly good cafe, good prices, really good surroundings, And They Make Hand Cut Wedges , just lovely, just go , you won't be disappointed
Very efficient and friendly staff. My quiche and salad was delicious - the pastry was crisp flaky and not too thick. My friends Shepherd Pie was also very good.
Will definitely be going back
Very friendly,, caring and kind staff. Customer service is wonderful. Betty is absolutely gorgeous. She seems to care about her Customers and treats them like family. Highly recommend this Cafe.
Excellent breakfast and launch. Coffee is also great. Local, small cafe/restaurant with friendly staff where, nice and quiet environment. The quality and portion of food was really good. I highly recommend checking this cafe for launch and breakfast.
An amazing little cafe that serves all day breakfast and meals across the river!
The staff was friendly and nice and the food was delicious! We ordered a chicken wrap, pancakes and kids food, and everything tasted freshly cooked! Would definitely recommend!
