Located next to The Grand Hotel in Yarra Street, Next Door is a newer addition to the area having been open for under two years.
The decor is modern and quite stunning. The menu is under city funky style with a mixture of everyday snacks such as popcorn chicken to something a bit more interesting like the tempura zucchini. Dietaries are catered for - just let the staff know. You can choose to eat inside or out. The Yarra River is only 100 metres away. Bit shout out to the staff who are helpful and knowledgeable on their extensive wine list.
Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly with high chairs available. Pram and stroller accessible. Good parking out the front, across the road or in the side streets.
Varied and interesting cocktails, delicious array of foods and the tasting menu was to die for!! An incredible addition to the developing Warrandyte food scene. I can’t wait to return for breakfast!
Came here for my birthday brunch recently and it was absolutely delightful! I had the spaghetti on toast which was delicious. Great coffee and breakfast mimosa's!! Friendly staff and the restaurant itself is very pretty. Loved it!! Will be back!
We had an amazing night at next door! They really went above and beyond to ensure we had a great night. Special mention to Con who was a fantastic waiter and knew his stuff when it came to wine.. very impressed by his knowledge! The food was so beautiful we really couldn’t complain about anything. We had the chefs selection feast and we left full and impressed. Can’t wait for our next visit!
I have returned now 4 times, each time I've had a wonderful experience. The staff are friendly and attentive, the food is fresh and modern. The Gnocchi was absolutely stunning! Trout dip and the king fish also winners!
Our first and not last visit! Great and fresh breakfast. But the the best it’s not busy and you can relax your brekky and yum coffee ☕️ Thanks a lot Next door team!
Went for a late lunch, food was super tasty, dishes well put together great flavours. Rocky road desert was amazing. Will be back for dinner.
Really enjoyed this New cafe/ restaurant! The food was great, no complaints on all three meals. I had the breaky burger which was really tasty, a sweet bun with thick bacon and an even thicker hashbrown (extra yum) but best thing was the staff were so incredibly kind and attentive - 6/5 rating for staff (is that possible). Would recommend overall!
What a wonderful new restaurant! Enjoyed a beautiful dinner at Next Door on Saturday night. We were quickly seated and offered a drink. The space is comfortable and sophisticated without being pretentious. Staff were attentive, some more timid than others, but our waitress (on her first shift) was incredibly friendly and responsive. The menu it seems offers something for everyone. We ordered lots of small plates and a larger to share. We enjoyed the kingfish and octopus, the steak tartare was delicious, albeit under seasoned. Our main ‘half roasted chicken’ was disappointing on arrival. No signs of chilli or pineapple as mentioned on the menu. It was perfectly cooked but looked a little lonely on the plate, a token salad would of made it worthy of $26, but honestly this was the only, small, let down. Overall a delicious meal and great experience at our new local! Will for sure be back.

The food and service at Next Door are top notch. The sharing style allows you to try multiple dishes and get a full tasting experience.
Great brunch, good quality ingredients, the menu has all the typical Melbourne Brunch options but they've made enough of their own changes to each dish to make it unique.

Awesome food, great service and delicious cocktails. All positives at our recent dinner at Next Door. Will definently be back soon. Recommend the 'feed me' option - all yum dishes and great value.
Outstanding service by our host Josie! Every little detail attended to. We all opted for the Feed Me menu, leaving the choices to the chef and OMG! Amazing!! Highly recommended this fabulous restaurant. We'll be back!!
This was the best light gluten free meal I have had at a restaurant. It was different to usual limited gluten free foods and so tasty. Service fantastic and if giving stars out of ten I would have to say a eleven plus.
