I’ve been coming to the Indian Affair for at least 8 years if not more. Why? Because the food is fabulous and quite authentic. The menu is what you’d expect but also a few more dishes that’ll surprise you. The portion sizes are good. Service is fast and staff are lovely.
This night we had chicken korma and a vindaloo. Rice, raita and naan as well.
Of course, I had to finish of with gulab jamun plus my friend had ice cream.
You can dine inside or out. Takeaway is popular here (although is always popular). Indian Affair also does catering which I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing at a number of local events.
This is a must try if you’re nearby. Chat to the staff - lovely people.
Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Good parking out the front. Dietaries catered for.
Amazing food and service! It doesn't matter if you eat-in or takeaway, the food is always delicious and the staff are very friendly. They make the best butter chicken around and all the food is super fresh and tasty! I have never been disappointed and I definitely recommend!
Food here was delicious and I would definitely return! We got the family value pack and it was more than enough for 4 people. Chicken tikka was a bit dry but otherwise everything was great
Best butter chicken I've ever had! Such kind and friendly owners too. My girlfriend and I love this place, whether we get takeaway for a night in or have a dinner date at the restaurant it always exceeds expectations. You won't get better Indian food anywhere else!
Beautiful family owned restaurant with delicious food! The lovely family are always so welcoming and provide excellent service. They always come over and check if we're enjoying our meals. The menu has such a great range. The curries are so yummy and always come out fresh and hot. Never had an issue, very clean and tidy restaurant. 10/10 I recommend to anyone looking for a great Indian meal.
Best indian I've ever tasted and I've been to a few places and now I'd never go anywhere else! Butter chicken is A+, would highly recommend!
Indian Affair is as the name suggests an Indian restaurant that reminds you of the latest Garry Lyon / Billy Brownless saga. The name aside this place is a welcoming family business that serves reasonable and large portioned Indian cuisine. We enjoyed an entree beef kebab - Boti Kebab, which was large enough to be a main but delicious, well spiced and marinaded and cooked delightfully in the tandoor. For main we shared the green chicken curry which whilst it was cream based was also well spiced yet lacking some heat. The garlic naan are exceptional and definitely recommended for main meal enjoyment. All in all this restaurant is a solid place to visit when requiring a fix for butter chicken!
Scrumptious!!!. This place is a great little find. Definitely one of the best Indian restaurants I have tried. The chicken korma was delicious as was the butter chicken! Full of flavour!
The service was also lovely and I cant fault it.
Highly recommend giving this Indian Affair a go!!
Best butter chicken in the world!!! You cannot get better and I love this restaurant! The service is always great and friendly. Their 3 course banquet on mon-wed is so cheap and worthwhile. You get 3 entrees, 3 mains, and dessert for $23! All of their food is good, definitely give it a go and get the butter chicken !!
Best Indian ever!! Loved the butter chicken with the fresh garlic naan! Will most certainly be back again.
The food was delicious and impressive. The fish madras was divinely spicy and you can't best their butter chicken. The garlic naan was clearly freshly made and the best I've had in years!
Great local restaurant. My family and I recently decided to try Indian Affair and we had such a lovely experience. Service was friendly and prompt, the food was delicious and the prices were very reasonable. The food really was excellent. We tried a range of entree and dinner options, such as the Chicken Tikka, Butter Chicken, Green curry and Lentil daal, and no-one had a bad meal. We will definitely be going back.
The best Indian food ever! My best friend and I have fallen in love with place for its excellent food, service, and atmosphere.
A++. Where do I start on the fantastic experience?!? Customer service, value for money and flavour...all outstanding. We started with the tandoori platter and were worried that it couldn't get better from here but it did! We were greedy and ordered 5 mains for four of us and thankfully doggy bags were allowed! We ordered palak paneer, bhuna gost, prawn masala, tarka daal and butter chicken (our favorite). Each dish had their defined flavours and it felt like they were made with love.
Unfortunately, we could not fit in dessert but next time I will try the gulab jamun as we had food envy with the table next to us!
This will definitely become a regular place to visit.
No complaints. Lovely, friendly staff. Great quality indian food. Nice atmosphere and attention to detail. Really can't complain - In this price range Indian restaurants are kind of a dime a dozen, and all taste quite similar - but I would choose to go Indian Affair over many others because of the effort they put into great service, presentation and food.
Awesome Awesome!. Great Food, lovely service and pretty good price. The drive up there is sweet too. I highly recommend this place. Love the chicken tikka masala and kulfi :) :) :)
Agree with other reviews. Absolutely fantastic curries. The lentil and tomato soup was tasty with a kick of spice, the butter chicken and chicken tikka masala were delicious with beautiful tandoori cooked chicken breast. Garlic naan great size and very tasty. The owners were lovely to talk too and attentive. Will be back!
Like everyone else is saying - a great hidden gem! I didn't expect to find such a great place up the back of warrandyte. Well it was truly impressive. We've tried a lot of the Indians around here (Taj Agra, phoolwari, chiraag, etc) and this is quite probably the best! we had beef madras, butter chicken, chicken tikka, aloo tikki, and soup and it was all fantastic. The chicken was so nice and smokey so I think it was from the tandoor, soooo delicious. Don't hesitate, get to this place!
Food was amazing, best I've had in Melbourne for sure. (Originally from UK). Let down was the service, it wasn't busy but took ages for any service. Would recommend it anyway!
Great food & Cheap too! Main meals come wth complimentary rice.. Indian food is our favourite cuisine so we have tried loads of different restaurants. We stumbled on Indian Affair and we were pleasantly surprised.
Firstly, their average meals are around $2-3 less in cost than other India restaurants. Then on top of this, with each main meal they give you complimentary rice (with pappadums, raita & another red condiment)
The food has not been watered down for the western palate and the rogan josh was hot (could have been hotter!).
Overall, highly recommended. It's no wonder it has 91% likes. It's a hidden gem
Indian dining at it's best. Loved the aromas and the authentic Indian cuisine at the Indian Affair. Compliments the better restaurants of Warrandyte. Friendly good service and delicious food. Yummy curries. Best buttered chicken i've had in a long time.
You must try the Indian ice-cream to finish off...yummy!
We will be back!
Great food and service, butter chicken and Rohan josh were awesome :)
Food was divine!! The tandoori chicken is an absolute must. Service was great and staff were friendly. Will definitely visit again
What a find!. Located 30 mins out of Melbourne this gem is worth the drive. The garlic naan was positively sublime with its crisp edges and soft pockets of garlicky buttery goodness. Fell in love with the butter chicken which was absolutely delectable made with skinless boneless juicy chicken breast. The lamb korma was packed with flavour and oh so tender - you can request the level of spiciness which was a bonus. Finished the meal with homemade mango kulfi which was smooth, creamy and felt like Summer in my mouth. Friendly staff and reasonably prices for such quality food. Cant wait to go back and bring my friends. Mmmmm
I went here a few nights back and really liked the food. Usually not a big fan of Indian food, but the lamb korma and naan was excellent. I'm going back for sure!
It was a great evening out. I really liked the prawns, the staff were very warm and friendly this place is a nice little gem in Warrandyte.
Just found our new favourite.
From location, comfort and cleanliness, service and delicious food this was a great all rounder.
Greeted by the friendly waitress we were sat in a well set and clean table. The venue is surprisingly spacious and warm with enough distance between tables to prevent hitting the person behind you.
Service was quick to take our orders and we ordered our entrees in the samosas, the lamb tikka and the fish pakora. These went so fast I didn’t get a chance to take a pic! Just tasty and with fresh ingredients.
For the main we ordered the vindaloo prawns, lamb Dahl, butter chicken and chicken biryani with sides of keema, garlic and aloo breads.
There was absolutely nothing to fault and for the amount of food the prices were reasonable by comparison.
We left full, happy and with a little extra for tomorrow.
Thanks to all of the team here at Nardee, we will be back to try more of your tasty menu.
Once again Nardee has delivered. The food is always so very delicious, the staff attentive and efficient and we like the comforting feel of the open fire, old time wood decor and carpet. If it ain't broke you don't need to fix it. A constantly good Warrandyte fixture. Great night out!
Great food. Lots of wonderful authentic flavours. The ambience was very cosy and quaint in a quiet rural area. The service could be a little more energetic and entertaining. But they were very polite and accommodating. Would definitely recommend!
Hidden gem in Warrandyte. Warm and cosy ambience. Food is good and service with a smile.
Perfect place for Saturday family dinner.
Lovely tasty meals with attentive and busy staff. On the evening we visited the takeaway option was full on which tells me the food is going to be great! BYO wine only with a fair and reasonable corkage charge. Wine, spirits, and beer prices are definitely on the lower side, that's a bonus.
Very nice lovely food. Friendly staff. Fast service. Nice place in Warrandyte . Will visit again.
On a very wet Friday night we made our way to Warrandyte with two other couples. Because of the weather there were few people there and that probably helped with the very attentive service we had. The servers were friendly and had a nice casual banter with our group. They were very good at cleaning up the tables and delivering items at appropriate times. The location and view over the river were great. It helped that the Yarra was a raging torrent after all the rain. We ordered entrees which we shared and six different main courses with rice. Every course had its own individual flavour and we could not fault the quality of the food. Our first visit there but it won't be the last.
