Loved it! Food was great, amazing value for money, proportions were much bigger than expected. Service was also good, had a really good time here. Look forward to returning to Warrnambool to eat here again
Tried this place out for the first time the other day- didn't disappoint. Extensive menu! Burgers are delicious and fresh, coffee was beautiful and not bitter/burnt!!- just perfect. Friendly staff, will visit again in future.
Had lunch at Fishtales on Monday. Special menu had Thai curry potato soup. Good size bowl full, accompanied by a side serve of big parmesan cheese slivers and a wholemeal roll, toasted and buttered - yum. The soup was sensational! Great texture, enough spice to be flavourful but not enough for heartburn. I put the parmesan cheese in because I love it, but it really wasn't necessary - the soup was perfect on its own. I met Brian, the soup chef, who said it was the first time he'd made it. I hope it goes on the regular menu.
The service was friendly and informal and quick. I'll be back.
The place is big. Really crowded during lunch time. Food took 30 mins to come out, and drinks came with food. They must be short of staff. Otherwise food looks amazing. I had monster plate which is like big breakfast, it was massive with 3 small sausages, 2 toasts, mushrooms and tomatoes, bacon and eggs. Bacon was crispy and generous. Hot chocolate was rather too sweet for me. It’s the best breakfast place i ever had. Everything in my plate was just cooked with love. The menu was so extensive with fish and chips menu, pastas and pizzas, noodles and chinese dishes, and indian curries and burgers. I wonder if they do well other than the breakfast stuff.
Great food excellent service all time great experience country life the best beats city will recommend to all I know when traveling in area 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
A great staple restaurant. Always open no matter what the day or time, huge menu with heaps of selection, and amazing coffee that goes down a treat. The outdoor area always a treat on the warmer days.
Nice flavourful breakfast. Everything is fresh and the service is excellent. Worth every penny! Big Breakie Focaccia is recommended! Chilli Cajun Fish is nice too.
Well you need to taste the chicken Arab burger! Packed full of deliciousness including egg plant. Reasonable pricing 12.9 for the burger, extra 3.5 for wedges. Everything cooked really well. Friendly staff.
twice in one weekend, went for dinner friday night, group of 8, very friendly & happy to move tables to seat you inside or outside. had fish of the day, was freshly cooked NOT dried out so thumbs up from me. Went back sunday morning for breakfast, had banana pancakes was really yum, tho wasnot maple syrup, maybe corn syrup but was good anyway
Wow, what a menu ! Wish i had more time to sit down there instead of doing a take away. Ordered a focacia sandwich with wedges. Tasted really nice . Wedges were crisp and delicious. Only thing I wish they would change is the focacia bread - it was alright, not the best i have had. Given a chance, I would like to come bsck here and try other things on menu.
No wonder this restaurant seems to be the busiest restaurant in this area. It's even open on Good Friday! As can be seen from the menu, the options are extensive. We ordered a double meat burger, a fish burger and a butterfish n chips and they taste really good. The services are very welcoming and location is definitely nice as it's also close to the playground park. I enjoy the food and the service! Thanks.
Friendly service and luckily open on good friday! Their menu is very expansive and they offer so much choice it's crazy! Whether you've got the most unique dietry requirements or like having the choice of every milk alternative available to man, they have something for you. We had the tofu burger and chicken & avo wrap. They were quite tasty! Would like to return for breakfast or try some of the health food options.
Wow, what a flashback. Haven't been to Fishtales in probably 10+years but enjoyed it as much as the first few times.
Food is good, service quick and friendly. Heaps of tables available in all spaces of the restaurant though a Sunday morning breakfast in late summer is always best enjoyed outside in the sun.
Very reasonably priced.
Could do with a kids menu as I noticed that we weren't the only ones there with a little one...
Dropped in for coffee with family before leaving after our holiday. Great little location, good coffee and service. Will go back next time we're in town.
Always a great place to go for a decent priced meal which is guaranteed to fill you up. The place can be rather loud but you can't avoid that with a popular spot. The menu is so large which is great for trying new things, sometimes it's hard to get the attention of the servers but usually they are rather attentive
Underrated cafe. Not one of the trendy cafes in Warnambool but a café worth checking out. Good coffee and breakfast all the time.
Hoppin' joint; no-frills fish and burger spot. Nice place along the main strip in Warrnambool. Doesn't look like much when you enter and see the binder-ring-held laminated menu that has almost everything. However the grilled fish burgers are pretty good (try the arab one, with eggplant and a slightly spiced sauce), the house wine is solid, and the place is very casual and good for kids and families.
I loved the food and service went back two days in a row. Would go back again.
Great surprise. We were driving the Great Ocean Road and came across this cafe.
It has a very extensive menu and VEGAN options!
This was a major surprise considering we had mostly survived on chips and packet noodles for a few days prior to coming across this place.
Super friendly staff and the vegan food was really good :)
Not Bad... damned by feint praise?
Lunch was good - mostly deep fried fish and seafood. Great chips. The kind of place that attracts teenagers or families. Don't be surprised if there are a lot of people hanging around the front - there is heaps of seating inside or at the back
Also had coffee - not bad...
Absolutely awesome menu, good food for the price and efficient friendly service! A+
Breakfast. Dropped in for breakfast and ordered a bacon, egg and tomato roll (no sauce) and a mug of skinny flat white. The roll was really nice and tasty - the egg and bacon were perfectly cooked and the roll was nice and fresh. The coffee whilst nothing to rave about was good. The cost was pretty expensive at $15+ but I would go back again.
Fishies is awesome. Funky vibe, cool staff and great food. Their burgers are off the chart (and put kermonds to shame). Menu is fun, expansive and there's something for everyone. However, their breakfast menu is a tad uninspiring compared with the rest. My favourites: plain burger, falafel salad, chicken foccacia. Cakes are also very good. Coffee has recently improved and is great. Highly recommended.
Great place to eat! Fantastic, large menu, something for everyone at great prices. Everything is so fresh and great serving sizes. Been alot and yet to be dissapointed. Relaxed casual arty feel.
Fishtales, Fishtales, roly poly Fishtales. Massive menu, and a wide choice for vegetarians. Informal and somewhat chaotic atmosphere from the service staff. I have been here several times, and I am yet to be disappointed by the quality of the food, but on only one occasion have I been let down by the service. In my opinion this place serves the best coffee in Warrnambool. The dining areas have a very vibrant feel, including the courtyard and al fresco areas. Highly recommended for a relaxed eat.
Great decor, hit and miss with service. I love the informal atmosphere of Fishtales, and the food is really affordable, with lots of vegitarian options on the menu. The menu is so big, though, that you have to wonder if all the food is of a really high standard. I've been for breakfast and lunch a few times, and one of those times I waited 20mins for pancakes (and it wasn't busy) and they were stone cold. Great coffee though, probably one of the best coffee places in Warrnambool.
