One of there specials of the night was a Prawn coconut dish and hands down best prawns I've eaten in my life. The curry was rich and full of flavour spices was all there and the heat packed a great punch. Best Indian food I've eaten in Perth!
Five food, friendly staff and an easy going atmosphere. Would definitely recommend Varq to anybody that enjoys great quality Indian food!!
Food was amazing and the staff very attentive. I would highly recommend you visit this restaurant for some delicious Indian food.
Excellent food, friendly staff we will definitely return again.
Absolutely beautiful food. Yummy salad options for those looking for a healthier option. The tandoori chicken is just divine. Thanks chief and staff.
The best and most consistent Indian Restaurant in Perth Metro. All the favourites and some very unusual house specials.
5 star food! Best Lamb Korma I've had in years. Great experience. And they deliver!
Great value pack Indian restaurant in wembley
The absolute best! So many choices - all awesome!
Easily my favourite Indian restaurant in Perth - the Saag Paneer is a MUST and the Mushroom and Peas Masala is a knockout! Oh, and the Spicy Walnut Tikki are to die for...wonderful friendly, attentive service - the sort of unpretentious dining out I love. Fabulous value too!
Had a date night there tonight with hubby... was very yummy...
Awesome Service YUMMIEST FOOD IN PERTH :))
Best indian authentic restro ever
Mark Indian restaurant in Cambridge Street provide you taste of food with well decorated items and waiting is so well good like butter chicken
Great service and great food. We have dined in and had takeaway and both have been fabulous. The takeaway comes with free naan bread on the side which is a nice touch. Would highly recommend Varq!
The food was lovely. The staff was really kind in serving us. It’s good for groups to have a good time. Since most of their dishes are mild, it’s a place everyone can enjoy and have a good time.
Wait staff were attentive to our wishes and flexible in the supply of a well presented and tasty fare. The shared breads were a great way to start and each of us (3) enjoyed lamb, duck and scallop in good serves. Chef asked after our enjoyment of his food and was friendly and informative.
Had a wonderful evening here tonight, food was great restored my faith in Indian food after some of the restaurants I have been to lately, staff were so accommodating, I happened to mention my interest on cooking Indian food and the chef came to our table to give me hints and tips and show me some of their herb mixes. Picked up on his passion for his food and it showed though in the meal we had. Recommend to all to visit
We have only eaten in once but get takeaway regularly. Food is always delicious and fresh. Plenty of vegetarian options and most dishes are gluten free.
Excellent service. The person attending made sure everyone in the group was fed and had drinks. This is despite a very big group.Standard food and good ambience.
Friendly service by the owner, great food, very authentic Indian food. The food came out very quick and the guy owner who served us was very friendly. We will definitely come again to try something else. My fave was the lamb vindaloo. It was spicy as I expected from vindaloo and the lamb was soooo soft.
We had dinner here last night. The food was excellent. We liked the fact that this restaurant serves something a bit different. For entree we had the tandoori broccoli and the brinjal bhajis. Both were delicious. For mains we had the lamb cutlets, chicken curry, lamb rogan josh and aloo gohbi. All the food was fantastic. The service was very friendly. We will definitely go back.
We went to Varq Indian restaurant tonight for a fantastic meal with the whole family! Great food, great service, great price. We will definitely be back. Thanks guys. 👍
The food was absolutely amazing, the colours, smell and taste made for a great dining experience. The staff were very friendly and the décor was fantastic I look forward to going back with the family again.
Have eaten here at least 5 times in from mid 2014- mid 2015. Have never been disappointed. The duck dish is my favourite, but their curries and naan are delish. Would highly recommend. Great setting and friendly staff.
Yes, totally agree - best Indian in Perth. Menu is different from the usual and the food is even better than it sounds...individual dishes really taste different rather than all the same as you often find. Really special!
The best indian in Perth. Hands down! Butter chicken is devine and the lamb cutlets are truly something else. Naan bread is by far the greatest thing i have ever had dipped in there beautiful curry sauces. Now that im pregnant i really could eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Extremely clean restaurant too.. Which is always a plus! Varq.. YOU GUYS ARE LEGENDS!!
Went to dinner last night, it is delicious! But a little over priced for the amount of food you recieve. wasn't very busy and waited a while to be served, but overall delicious food.
I love the vindaloo and garlic naan at this restaurant. The customer service from the male staff is warm and welcoming. The menu is slightly different from the mainstream. Byo is a winner.
Delicious food! Great service. Food was absolutely delicious would definitely go again. Loved chicken curry, dhal, butter chicken and garlic naan! Amazing!
Excellent Alternative. I have been trying to find an Indian Restaurant in Perth which doesn't just do the usual 4/5 curries and then repeat for each meat type. This has some excellent different options which are yummy too. The smoked aubergine one is to die for :)
Best in town. This is world class Indian food and far better than ALL of Perth's better known establishments.
Goat Biryani is stunning, as are the spicy chicken thigh fillets, and the Aloo Gobi is the best I've ever had. The kitchen really knows its way around a Tandoor, too.
Short but very reasonably-priced wine list, good glassware and inoffensive decor which makes a nice change. Highly recommended.
Good Quality Indian Perth. We went to Varq on Saturday evening, the restaurant is decently busy. When I entered the restaurant the waitress attended to me straight away asking for my reservation name and showed me to the table. The restaurant is a BYO wine.
The restaurant has a selection of vegan and also normal meat dishes.
For the evening, we ordered the Paneer roll, Oven roasted rolled slice of cottage cheese with tomato and mango for starters.
As for mains, I’ve read a few reviews on Urbanspoon regarding the goat. Hence, I’ve order Briyani goat Traditional dum biriyani. Basmati rice scented with saffron and cardamom and cooked in a sealed pot served with raita. My partner order the Chicken Jhalfrezi. Chicken tossed with peppers and onions in a tomato sauce with Kashmiri naan. The overall rating is good.
The only cons about the restaurant is when I entered there is a scent of cockroaches, when we mentioned to the waitress said they had spray prior to opening the restaurant.

Great food Great Service. My Daughter's Birthday Party was so well organised by the Varq staff .
Excellent food with great service .Everyone in the Party loves it .
Thanks Varq .
Have now been to Varq twice, once dining in, once takeaway. Not the cheapest Indian but really good quality. The apricot khurmani kababs were awesome albeit (at $3 a pop) a bit dear. My new Indian local!!
One of the best indian restaurant. Went there in april and was very much satisfied with quality of the food. The food is absolutely fantastic.would highly recomment to anyone.
Authentic Indian food- and I say that as someone who has Pakistani blood in me! The closest I can get in perth to my late father s saag gosht. Wonderful service. The star are so polite and accommodating. They really deserve to do well. Some well thought out fusion dishes as well.
Probably the best Indian food I have come across!!...good atmosphere and lovely staff!!!...I highly recommend Varq!!...and very reasonably priced!!!...fab food!!!
Ever reliable. I have eaten here several times and never reviewed as I wanted to keep it quiet. This is the best Indian I have tried in Perth, the food is always good, fast and friendly service and now they have liquor license with a great beer and wine list.
You have to eat here!!
Absolutely Fantastic. After craving good Indian food for the past 3 months and hearing such great reviews of this restaurant I finally managed to visit the gorgeous Varq. I was well rewarded for my long wait with a beautiful, relaxed environment and absolutely succulent dishes. The butter chicken and goat curry were exceptional standouts. Unbelievably, Varq managed to satisfy all my cravings and meet my high expectations for genuinely good Indian. VERY happy pregnant lady!!!! Will be back for more.
Excellent food and service. Just finished an excellent meal at Varq. Restaurant fairly busy, but service attentive and helpful. No alcohol available but BYO with corkage. Delicious flavours in all the dishes we tried and NOT the usual indistinguishable tastes that are so common many Indian restaurants. We had a meat platter for two as an entree for four and followed this with 2 meat dishes and 3 vegetable dishes......4 adults and this was a good amount of food. Lots of cold tap water available as well as many other soft drinks. Well priced and excellent value for tasty food in pleasant surroundings. Well done.
Had a fantastic meal at Varq. Great service and food. Would recommend to anyone. Will be coming back!
Worth another go. Had a very pleasant meal - lamb rogan josh was tender and delicious, dhal was a little salty but flavoursome, service was extra friendly, and it was a comfortable space to eat in. Wouldn't mind going back to see how they handle some of the less traditional dishes.
Highly recommended. It is not easy to find good Indian food as good as that in the UK. we used to have Indian food almost once a week then. Since moving to Perth 16 years ago. We only found one which we had to travel to Attadale .
Varq is now in our list of number one.
Every dish is very fresh, great sauce, naan is not oily at all.. lovely texture.
Tandoori Chicken is tender and moist, superb Aloo Gobhi , Chicken Jhalfrezi just perfect. spicy but not over powering..Lamb rogan josh is just too mouth watering by just looking at it. lastly but not least, I am not a fan of Dahl -lentil but this has change my mind! well done to the chefs in Varq!! Very friendly !
we shall definitely go back there again!! 100x Likes!
Authentic and delicious. Varq is my favourite restaurant as it offers delicious food, friendly customer service, food is really authentic and delicious ...and the best part of it is consistent ..friendly ambiance , mouth watering aroma ..a perfect place to be with family and friends and experience truly indian food...
One should must try its dal makhani as i could never find that authentic dal in any restaurant in perth...doesnt matter what you eat it is delicious...i highly recommend this restaurant....
The Bumpiest Path. We ate at Varq after seeing photos of the dishes and high recommendations from @perthmunchkin a foodie blogger.
Very impressed with the food, tender and very tasty. Atmosphere was relaxed and fast friendly service. Impressed with menu pricing too!
Would definitely recommend it and return again ourselves.
Great to find an awesome Indian Restaurant.
I posted pics on instagram.
Highly Recommended. My friend and I had dinner there recently and enjoyed our dining experience.
We tried the vegetarian dish Aloo Ghobi (potato and cauliflower), Maliba Fish Curry, Garlic naan and rice. The serving size was perfect with plenty of taste and flavour. Food came out fast with friendly service. Can't wait to go back....
Delicious!. My husband and I ate here on the 22nd November for my birthday and it was a lovely meal. We ordered onion bhajis and some pappadums with mango chutney to start. Followed by saag paneer, steamed rice and garlic naan to share as our main. Unfortunately we didn't have room for dessert but did have a mango lassi to wash it down.
The food was faultless. it was one of the most enjoyable meals We've had in months. Everything was packed full of flavour, very fresh, and clearly made with skill. We live 40 minutes away but if we lived closer it would certainly be a regular meal hot spot for us.
The staff were friendly, perhaps a little nervous/timid or new to the roles but made us feel welcome and were attentive without being overbearing.
The food arrived quickly and the value for money is very impressive. Servings were generous, we had enough left over for lunch for my husband and myself the next day (which they were all too happy to pack up for us). The total bill for all of the above food was $55!
They've clearly put a lot of effort in to the decor of the restaurant which is pleasant unfortunately the location of the actual restaurant isn't so great and it can look quite pokey from the outside, don't let that deter you though. This is good wholesome food made with love!
Amazing!. Fantastic new Indian restaurant and definitely a favourite. Friendly staff, quick service, generous portions, 100% authenticity, topped off with excellent value for money. Not only are the entrees/mains mouth-watering, the desserts and drinks too were top-shelf. Highly recommended, will not disappoint.
Went there with my family for the first time tonight and was very impressed with the quality of the food and the great service.
The kids menu and servings were great and plentiful.
Only negative is the small size of the mains. But I don't think I could have possibly eaten more than I ordered anyway.
Very good Indian by Aussie standards, we intend on visiting again and again
Big thumbs up. We went for Sunday dinner based on the exceptionally high rating on this site and Varq lived up to expectations. Both the food and service were excellent. We will definitely return.
Absolutely delicious food & a nice fit out. Definitely one of the best Indians in Perth - the Paneer Masala is to die for & I had the best Kashmiri naan ever!
Excellent. Went to the restaurant on Sunday night on the recent long weekend. We started with the vegetarian platter for entree, which was fantastic. Had the goat curry for main, which I understand is a restaurant specialty. It was amazing. I think it was the best goat curry I've had in Perth. You can really tell that the chef has a real attention to detail in the meals and the flavours are exquisite. It's not just meat or chicken with slop which you tend to get quite often at other Indian places. The service is friendly too. Will certainly be going back ASAP.
One of the best Indian restaurants in Perth. What a find! We stumbled across this place via Urban Spoon and went there for my partners mums birthday. It has only been open just over 1 month. The decor is very chic and the food and service is fantastic! All the serves were good sizes, the food tasted fresh and delicious and the service was great too. Its BYO wine too, so a great place for group bookings. We are locals and this place may become our regular.
Mmmm Curry!. Amazing atmosphere, fantastic food, incredible Indian Restaurant.
Here you can find authentic naan bread and delicious kulfi, but my absolute favourite was the Lamb Korma (an oldie but a goodie!). A wonderful place for a night out with friends!
Naan Naan. If you love mopping up delicious curry with crisply baked naan, come here!
Went there for dinner on a very busy saturday night food was very good but service was great even though restaurant was full, very friendly staff will be back soon.
Unique Indian! Really good. Came here on a Thursday night with a group on friends (6 in total) after had been hearing good reviews from others friends who live locally. I was told Varq had recently opened and we wanted to test it out. We ordered entrees to share - many I hadn't heard of of seen at other Indian restaurants - Khurmani kebabs (apricot and potato patties), Tandoori broccoli, Chicken Lahsuni tikka (garlicy marinated tandoori chicken), tandoori prawns (big & juicy!) and my long time fave Lamb seekh kebabs (spiced lamb mince shaped on skewers). All came with chutneys and were so delish! Juicy, succulent and tasted really fresh!
Next for mains most people wanted to share curries but I wanted to try a 'signature dish' so I had the Wild Salmon in dill & mustard sauce with saffron rice. Other dishes ordered were the butter chicken (best I've had in Perth as it wasn't too sweet), dahl makhani (really creamy), methi murgh (fenugreek leaves and chicken), lamb vindaloo (asked for it to be extra hot!), masala fish (had spinach and mushrooms). All the curries came out piping hot, tasted really fresh and didn't seem 'over-spiced' like at some other Indian restaurants - just clean flavours. But my Wild salmon was the best! It was a generous serve and the sauce complemented the fish perfectly :) The saffron rice that was served with it was really tasty too - fragrant and I could tell they used real saffron too. We also shared some plain, garlic and cheese naans around the table and they were so soft and pillowy!
For dessert I had to try the Shahi tukra (it was described as deep fried bread soaked in rubri which I understand is a sweet milky reduction) It seemed to also have saffron and was so yummy! Sticky and now my new favourite dessert! I really like 'milky' Indian desserts especially Bengali sweets and tried my husband's serve of rasmalai - 3 spongy dumplings soaked in rubri - perfect! On their website it says Varq means the silver edible leaf on Indian sweets... I can't wait til they make these and was a tiny bit disappointed they didn't have any tonight but was informed it would soon be available.
Seems like Varq is the new Indian in town and I will definitely be back... I wanna try the other 5 signature dishes!
One of the best Indian restaurants that I have been to. Delicious, authentic and obviouly made by someone with a great passion for food. A brilliant atmosphere, with quick service, big portions, well priced and an a great overall dining experience. Highly recommended.
Went there for a meal shortly after it was open, nice tasty food, good ambience, great value for money
Great atmosphere. Authentic Indian flavours. We had the banquet, which truly lives up to the title, we ended up leaving in a food coma but taking half of the food home in take away containers. Highly recommended. Thank you Varq restaurant.
Food comparable to being in India, unlike any other of countless others I've tried in Perth.
Plus some excellent & intriguing fusion choices.
Friendly, welcoming, great atmosphere.
Anyone trying is very unlikely to regret the choice.
Best Indian I've ever had... not just in Perth. I was asking all these classic white boi questions about how BIG the portion of Naan bread was. The waiter just said 'trust me you'll have enough, you've never had proper naan bread if you didn't have enough' I ordered 2 lots anyways and omg so good. The curry Omg so good. We had a at least 14 different meals between the 12 of us. And I tried everyone. Seriously ducking amazing
Great food and service. Very friendly staff who have a great team atmosphere. Food taste is flavoursome and complex, with great favourites and interesting changing special starters. Lighting is soft and the booths are great. Good for a date and also a family meal. Recommended.
I have tried many many many indian restaurant and hands down this is the best I have ever been to. The chicken was so fresh and tender ! And it had no fat it was just perfection everything was just great from service to food quality.
We had some goat biryani, paneer and parathas delivered. The best Indian food in Perth so far. We could taste all the spices since the food was NOT drowning in oil and chillies.
