Review Black Seed Cafe - Werribee

Vasim Shaikh
Great and best halal breakfast option in west side of Melbourne. Easily accessible and plenty of parking. Unique menu, friendly staff and quick service. Can be a lot busy over the weekend. We love every single bite, kids love their menu as well.

One of our fav cafe around. Great service, awesome food and overall great dining experience. Highly recommend. Had a very refreshing and tasty late breakfast here today.

WOW. Those fritters: the flavour balance was on point! Everything from the sauce to the garnish was well executed and came together perfectly on that plate. Very excited to find this café by chance. They have an ever-changing hotcake menu and great coffee, too. Highly recommended.

Great menu, the service was extremely slow, we waited at least 20 minutes after our order was taken. I had brioche French Toast it was nice, my mum had raisin toast with jam. The table we sat on inside was sticky, also watching staff member cleaning the tables after a customer had left, she wasn't using anything but a dirty cloth also no sanitiser spray to disinfect which l was totally surprised. That same cloth was used from one table to the next without rinsing or sanitising in disinfectant even the chairs weren't wiped over. Not recommended

Overall experience was really good. The staff were friendly and very accommodating, made us a fresh new coffee because the original coffee was a bit cold. Beef burger was really good, the French toast was presented beautifully got baited because the butter on top wasn’t ice cream.

Quite a nice cosy spot for breakfast. Fresh ingredients. Note that this cafe does not serve pork products, so if after bacon, head else where. I enjoyed the vegetarian breakfast, but, i did taste the beef substitute for bacon and was not a fan. This cafe also does not have a bathroom, which is fine, unless you need to use one after your coffee haha. Staff are friendly and welcoming.

Delicious food and coffee. Great service from the lovely girls there

My wife and I have been to most of the cafes in werribee and this one is up there with the best of them. We had breakfast which was reasonably priced and a nice portion size. The coffee is delicious and the staff are very friendly. If you've been thinking of trying this Cafe out, I highly recommend it.

100% the best Bao buns and coffee I've had in
the West! A cosy cafe situated in the heart of
Werribee with the freshest and most delicious
food, amazing customer service and beautiful
coffee ❤ could not recommend them enough.
Thank you for having us!

This place is my only cafe/restaurant so far that I’ve rated a solid 5! Everything was made so beautiful! Me and my partner thoroughly enjoyed every single thing we ordered! The only cafè I’ve left in a food coma but HAPPILY! The chocolate milkshake (not sure if it’s called chocolate or nutella) is the best I’ve tried in Melbourne’s West!!! I skulled the milkshake before my meal even came out which is so rare haha!!! We just loved everything!!! And it sits at the top of the best brunch’s/brunch spots so far! Only fault is small tables & very close to one another. Other than that.. TOP BRUNCH SPOT IN THE WEST so far :)

Very friendly service. Food was delicious and beautifully presented.

The barista did an amazing job on the coffees. 10/10, we really enjoyed our quick coffee visit. Ambience was wonderful. Lots of natural light and relaxing acoustic music. Service was brilliant and prompt.
Definitely coming back again :)

Delicious food, wish it was open all day!

We waited for about 10 minutes for a table for two on a Sunday. The order took a bit long to be served but the food was overall good. Our french toast tasted delicious, crunchy, and not too overly sweet. The salmon was smoky and smooth. Just a note they don’t serve bacon here but they do have beef rasher instead.

Love this cafe for it’s fantastic menu. It has all the things that I love. Service is always very attentive and staff are always friendly. Coffee blend is perfect too! I have been here too many times.. but will be back!

Hidden gem!
Stumbled upon this just by looking for a top rated cafe in the area, was not disappointed. There was a bit of a wait but the food was so delicious it was well worth the wait

Went here simply because it was the highest rated café in the area and we were not disappointed. The café is nice and cosy and gave off nice family vibes. I ordered eggs on toast with avocado and smoked salmon. The sourdough bread was absolutely amazing and tasted great with the runny egg yolk. I would definitely come back, it really is a hidden gem.

Lovely little local cafe, friendly service & good vibe/decor.
I had the pancake special which was delicious, hubby had the potato smash which he enjoyed too. Good coffee.
The meals did take awhile to come out but you kind of forget about that when tucking in.

This has to be my favourite cafe in Weribbee. I just came for the first time today and I can see myself coming back for more. We came in as a group so I had the chance to try three dishes. First, breakfast burger, it was great, the brioche was excellent. Next up, French toast, it was nice but the honey sauce was a bit too much, it made the toast too soggy. Lastly the hash brown, it was my personal favourite. It was full of flavour and the side veggies helped to complement the hash brown. I enjoyed the coffee too, a bit weak but smooth.

Cafe right on the Main Street, convenient out front parking. Inside the cafe is neat and nicely presented. Just a note: no bathroom

Service: very attentive and friendly.

Coffee: Tried the flat white and decaf options. Both were good. If you order the large they come in cute kitch mugs.

Food: Baked eggs; tasty and nicely presented. Good spice mix.
Toast with preserve: comes with 2 slices of toast. Two sachets of butter and a very small pot of jam. For $8 I would think they could spare a little more jam - the only negative. The sourdough was nice and fluffy.

This is probably the best place in Werribee to have brunch. Staff are very friendly and the food is pretty decent. The menu is varied and there’s plenty of interesting meals to choose from. The coffee is also really good. Given the background, please don’t expect pork products in the food.
Thecheftable
Great little cafe, in the heart of Watton street, it serves a beautiful coffee and awasome food with excellent customer service. Highly recommended
A Black Sheep
A solid 4 stars from us. Staffs are friendly and attentive, good coffee. No fancy plating but decent presentations. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and the food are so tasty. If in the neighborhood, a visit is recommended.

Great service and good coffee. Ordered the hash, it was nice and filling but a little bit oily, could also do with a little bit more hollandaise on it
Walid Elbaz
A great little cafe, awesome atmosphere, wonderful coffee and tasty food and the service was friendly and helpful, highly recommend, the smashed avocado, fritters and potato hash just delicious!😃

Amazing! The staff were wonderful too. Their take on the big breakfast with a twist is scrumptious. I'd personally recommend this place to anyone in the area

Came here to refuel before cycling back home to Sunshine. Service staff were prompt and friendly but not in your face. Good selection of food (including veggie options) and presented well. I ordered the green breakfast bowl with quinoa, very small amount of quinoa and really salty overall (could have been a slip of the hand though), however the veggies weren’t overcooked and the portion size was enough.
No bathroom facilities in the cafe but one of the staff allowed me to use the private bathroom around the back of Coles.
Would come back again just to try the coconut and chia pudding.

One of my new favourite cafe. Situated in the middle of convenience. This small place offers big results. Their service is good and they are very attentive. Coffee is good. The food is creative. Beautifully made dishes. Will be back when I am in the area.
MissCat
There are so many cafes in this area, heard of the good reviews of this cafe so today we are trying it out. First impression when we step into the cafe — very busy small cafe, most tables are occupied. Thankfully, there is a table available for us after a few minutes wait. Service is good here, wait staff is attentive. The food is good as well, I love the French toast here, it’s light and not too sweet served with banana and berries. We will come back to try for more!
Winterchild87
Can't speak highly enough of this cafe! Their coffee is incredible and the service is always friendly. This is always a cross-section of multicultural suburban Melbourne, and always a hive of activity on weekends and weekdays alike. Just wish they stayed open a little longer! 😊☕

I dropped by this place very briefly a few years ago on a hot summers day for a coffee, but I for some reason never headed back. I decided to give it a shot again whilst randomly walking past with my son last week and wow, I think I’ve found my new favourite spot! I had the dukkah smashed avo and my son had the nuggets and chips - the seasoning on the chips was delicious and the glaze on the smashed avo had me hooked enough that I came back the next day for more. Not only was the food great but the staff were very friendly and welcoming and the coffee was probably the best I’ve had in the area.
Melbourneats
We’ve been waiting 20mins to get served, the 3 staff were just standing and talking to each other, knew we were there cause they offered us the menus.
Other than that the dishes we ordered were good, maybe pita bread could be offered instead of the plain flat bread?
Take your lover, friends and family here if you got no place else to go in werribee.
Gurpreet
Nice, cozy place with friendly staff and amazing breakfast options.
We just went to grab a quick bite and loved this cafe with nice coffee and fresh breakfast.
Quratulain Tariq
Finally got to visit this place! It was a bit crowded (which shows how good this place is) so we drank coffee outside in the cool breeze. A wonderful morning coffee ☕️ Very strong and not too sweet mocha. Amazing staff; kind and friendly. Would love to be able to dine here in the future.

Great atmosphere,

Good portion and quality for the area.

Ordered a "Florentine" and was quite disappointed for the price,

My partner had a Big breakfast with scrambled eggs which looked and had nicer elements.

Avoid the $8 tropical smoothie; watered down and lack of fresh ingredients, 1/3 parts of water, small bits of fruit and ice.

The dirty chai was spicy and strong; good flavour and espresso shot.

Also ordered the calamari which wasn't too oily and was reasonably priced.

Overall great little cafe; heaps more potential
Micaela Pascoe
Highly recommend black seed, best cafe in Werribee 👌🏼 everything from the food to the best coffee as well as the staff! Everyone I’ve brought here says the same. Have been going here for nearly 3 years now.
Scout
So good. We ventured here after a run at Werribee Mansion. Everything on the breakfast menu was appealing & what served on other people’s tables was tantalizing. Our waitress was so friendly & helpful- plus remembered our coffee order from an hour earlier when we asked for another round. Delicious meal from their new menu released this week. I’ll be back- so many choices & I want to try them all.

This is one of the West best Cafe. The menu is quite good, the hot cakes are very tasty and the coffee ☕ really hits the spot. Great atmosphere and very friendly owners, this Cafe is really worth a stop next time you're out.
Southside Foodie
Such a beautiful little cafe, menu had great options. Fast service, the girls were so friendly. Food and presentation was excellent. Will definitely be returning!

My husband and I had breakfast here and we would highly recommend. The staff were friendly, the coffee was great and the food was delicious!
Juhi- Culture And Cuisine
A nice cosy little cafe with great staff.

Firstly, I cant stand places that don’t have a washroom on site. It’s extremely inconvenient and I am not a fan at all.

The food was average. The drinks were nice. I really loved the chips. Perfectly salty and very very flavourful.

Also really liked the staff. Friendly and very accomodating. The cafe also looked quite hip and had a nice vibe.
FoodieMania
A nice little halal cafe for brunch and cosy. We were able to fit a pram in there. Staff were very welcoming and accommodating. We ordered the French toast and smoked salmon dishes - both yum with well balanced ingredients. The homemade hollandaise and mascarpone were amazing. The coffees were pretty good too. It was reasonably priced and wasn’t a bad find in Werribee. Food came out quick too despite a bit of a crowd.
Sanj Tanya
Came here for brunch and the staff are so lovely! The menu is different compared to the standard breakfast menu! I had the Dukkah Smashed Avocado and it just so delicious! Their serving sizes are quiet generous as well! Would definitely go back on more brunch dates 😍
Natasha Taylor
The food is excellent, with many vegan and vegetarian options as well as stuff for meat eaters. The coffee is fantastic, staff are very friendly, and it's easily accessible by bus or train from Werribee station.
Hands-down the nicest café in a city of great cafés.
Teagan Thisby Young
The Baked Eggs here are absolutely incredible. I was extremely surprised that a little cafe in Werribee that we wandered into because it was the only place open on Boxing Day morning served up the best meal I've had on my whole two-week trip to Melbourne so far.
Tay
Service was great, really lovely waitress. The food was amazing, ordered the fried chicken burger with fries and my friend ordered the shanklish with egg. Overall the service and food was amazing, would definitely recommend.
Gagan
Pretty average cafe. The service was great but food was bland. Atmosphere is good and staff are very welcoming. Coffee was also average considering other cafes around there have great coffee
Chris_cody69
I love this place,..My family and I frequently visit Blackseed cafe as our favourite little gem in Werribee.Food fresh.. coffee on point.. every time, service is always friendly and prices suit too.My kids love the pancakes and my daughter LOVED her unicorn freak shake..
I'm a chef so I love that i can get something flavourful, a little left field and current.
The cauliflower fritters are one of my favourites!! The staff, owners and ambiance are always friendly and inviting and if i didn't run my own place then i'd probably eat here a little more often ;)
Maritza Fabiola Martinez Cruz
Amazing tasty food!! so much flavours and beautiful presentation!!! we loooove it!!
Even knowing it’s not close from home was worth it the trip over! Well done!!!
Jessica Gatt
A lot of flavours happening on this avo, even the beetroot on the side tasted like cinnamon! (Personally not a fan) The cheese was amazing but unfortunately not enough of it!!
Coffee was nice
Nick X Thomson
Food was good, but not stand-out memorable. Service was friendly, pricing was fair. Decent menu for a small cafe, with a few gems on there that are (I'm guessing) influenced by the background of the owners. Would visit again if I were in this area. Good coffee too!
Joshua Wallace
City quality restaurant tucked into a small suburban street. Highly reccomend it however can become quite packed in the mornings thus slowing down the service
Elizabeth Anguiano
The food was presented beautifully, it was also very tasty. I got eggs benedict (of course) My eggs were slightly overcooked but i don't mind that much, my only issue here was that that wait was very long. It took quite a bit to get our latte and mocha and we were long ago finished with them by the time our food was brought to us. The restaurant was quite busy so i understand...but if you're really really hungry just beware!
Ezio Hungary
Went there for brunch, simple menu but fancy presentation. Love the service a lot and the taste of the dishes. Definitely a great place to have some fancy brunch.
Scrumptious GG
Love the skinny latte and the egg Florentine. The brownie were gorgeous! The cafe looked clean, staffs were friendly. The cafe is not big, just a small square room, that's probably why the sitting arrangements pretty close to each other. I could hear very clearly the conversation from the next table even they didn't speak loud. This is the place if you are looking for quality coffee and food, but maybe not if you after a place to have a good chat with friends and family.

Coming for a friend visit from fitzroy, i seriously did not expect to find a good coffee here... not only was it good, they had my fav almond milk, the coffee was excellent 😊😊. .didnt eat but food looked great!

Black seed cafe- one of the best brunch food cafes I've had in werribee. Coffee was good, not burnt. Food was fantastic.

Food 4/5
Average per dish $15.90
Ambience 4/5
Service 4/5

Everything was seriously great, will definitely be back.
MELB JOURNAL
We were in search for a great brunch place in Werribee and this came up so we thought we would give it a go. First impressions where that the cafe was very small and lacked atmosphere. Reading the menu, nothing really stands out as unique or a signature dish. I really enjoyed my breakfast, which was the Baked Eggs - generous portion and presentation was good.
Adam Elhouli
A great little place, located in the heart of Werribee, the food made with love with beautiful choices in the menu, coffee always hit the spot and the service is awesome!
Sensaikai
Walking into the cafe on a Tuesday morning, you are surrounded by a whole cross section of society; all manner of races and religions, this cafe in Werribee was truly pumping! This place has excellent coffee, order the fried chicken burger, unique blend of spices on the chicken works well with the chilli slaw, would have been better if it were spicier or if they would at least serve it up with some Tabasco sauce on the side. Fritters were not so great, the spice combination tasted awkward and it tasted it had been sitting in the deep fryer a tad too long. Worth a visit.
Melissa Wightley
We went here for a quick bite to eat and we were blown away by the food, milkshakes and staff. Everything was great we ordered a freak shake and it was awsome. We said we cant wait to go back and try a few more things out.
Tony
Food cooked with love and service with a smile. Can't fault anything, coffee was better than most places in Melbourne. Had the cauliflower fritters - was tempted to lick the plate as it was full of fresh complementary flavours. Salmon bruschetta was also amazing.
Cy Mani
The staff were amazing, very friendly & helpful. Decor & set-up was great. Has a luxe modern country vibe. Unfortunately the food was disappointing. Although the presentation was immaculate, the taste was lacking. Just some flavour or a pinch of seasoning would go a long way.
Bayan Albaz
During our visit to werribee , we stopped to have a breakfast at this great little cafe the food was awesome heaps of flavour, excellent customer service and spot on coffee. Highly recommended
Crazy About My Food
Great food and drinks! Service is a bit scattered! That need to get a bit more organised. A few more options for vegetarians would make the menu perfect.
MMAT Community
Black Seed Cafe has been recently voted in early 2016 for best cafe in the West. Considering it has only been opened for less than 2 years, that is a an outstanding achievement and I can definitely see why (and taste it too). Excellent food and friendly service which keeps regulars back for more. If I lived close by, it would definitely be my local.

Their presentation of food is on par with some of Melbourne's top cafes and you'll be surprised to find the owners themselves helping out in the kitchen when there's a need. Almost everything on the menu is a winner and no doubt, you'll be back to try them all. It's family friendly place with a couple of items on the menu for your little ones. However, there isn't much room for prams as the place is a little quaint and it is located on the main street in Werribee, Watton St, so it can get quite packed on weekends. I would recommend to go during the week so you can enjoy your food and coffee, without the rush.

They've also got freak shakes going on so get your buddies together for brunch because those shakes will need to be shared!

Read more reviews at mmatcommunity.com

Omg omg omg, this cute little café is simply amazing. Their foods are bursting with flavour, but not too overpowering, so you won't sick/tired of it ❤️. My Bff and I went here for brunch, and we both had the Nutella pancake with ice cream on top #cleaneating and I didn't expect the serving to be soo big ! Nevertheless, anything with Nutella would taste amazing, therefore the pancakes were delicious !! A definite must try, and I would say it is one of the best cafés in Werribee ☕️☕️☕️
Vanessa Ollivier
As always, I ordered French toast like I do at every place where I'm having brunch. And I have to say, by far the best French toast I have ever had. This cafe is located conveniently near Werribee station and is a nice little cosy cafe to catch up with loved ones. And to top it off, it is Halal certified. #winning!
Nibble And Wander
My boyfriend and I came here for lunch, during our stay at the Werribee Zoo. I loved the quirky looking cafe, the service was quick and the staff were sweet and attentive. The food was absolutely scrumptious, I had the Raspberry Hotcakes and I loved it, fluffy not too sweet. My bf had the Baked Eggs Skanklish, my go-to brunch dish, it was yum that I ate almost half of his too hahah My latte was also perfect!
Aimee Louise
This is DEFINITELY my favourite cafe in the area. The food and service are sensational!
The only drawback is 3pm closure (which seems to be the norm these days).
TastebudTrail
Black Seed was incredible! The service was fast and super friendly. We went there for breakfast and it was really lovely. We ordered a full breakfast and the French toast - both were delicious, fresh and full of flavour. The cafe itself is a little small so get in there early before it fills up or make a booking!

When ordering I specifically told the waitress if my severe allergy to dairy. She modified my order to include coconut milk. When my order came out it was covered in yoghurt. When I questioned her the response I received was 'well what do you want me to do about it'. When I asked for a new meal that did not include dairy she huffed and walked off.
5 minutes later I had a bowl thrown in front of me and she walked off.
I was appalled and upset with the service received.
It is difficult enough for me to eat out and being made to feel this way.
The rest of my group really enjoyed their meals as did I however it was the poor service and attitude that ruined our experience.
Bee F
We ordered the Angus burger and calamari salad. Both plates were left half full. The burger had some strange taste, maybe halal bacon? I'm not sure but it was terrible. If you're going to serve this let your customers know because I would not have ordered it. The burger was the size of a golf ball and the side of chips had herbs which were overwhelming. The calamari was way off the mark with 'Asian' flavours. Ordered a coke which was not refrigerated but served with a glass of ice and no diet drinks at all. Get your act together because this is not good enough. On the other hand the service was great. Going on the ratings, I was excited to go here. I will not be back.
Karrie T
Cool place, great coffee and the food was amazing. I don't normally go for smashed avo, because it's boring but black seed nailed it. I didn't want it to finish 👌🏼👍🏼 I'll be back
Let Laura Eat
We went here this morning and all enjoyed it. The staff were friendly & informative, all our meals were delicious & very filling, even the kids meal was really big. This could me out new local favorite.

So impressed with black seed cafe. The staff are so friendly and really looked after us and the food is amazing! Will defiantly be back. Only criticism is our coffee could have been a little hotter.
Moodie Foodie
Love this place! Great coffee and food. It's always so busy and a bit of a wait for your order and sometimes a wait to get a table too but worth it. It's a bit of a drive from me also but happy to make the trip. Have Tried most dishes and have not been disappointed.
Ryara002
Great experience here. I had the avo dukka smash - predictable I know but well worth it! The service was lovely, looked like a family run cafe and everything is provided with love!
Would highly recommend!

Brunch today @black seed cafe ,highly recommend fritters& hot cakes they tasted as they look full of flavour! Great coffee, great atmosphere , friendly and helpful services

Tried their Smoked Salmon Bruschetta this morning. I don't know if the staff sprinkled some magic glitters on my meal as it made me hyper 😝 I liked the grilled asparagus under the poached eggs. It is a HEAVY MEAL (not even planning to have lunch) the staff are very warm and polite. The place is relaxing, freaking good for "masturdaters". Try it and get blown by their plate presentation :) There's more to try on the menu 👌🏻 Will definitely dine in this place again
Nomnom
Highly recommend the Shanklish ($18) which was a good portion with more than enough bread pieces. The milkshake was delicious, it had a generous sized brownie, caramel popcorn and fairy floss. Quiet a small cafe which can get busy. Surprising addition to Werribee.
Sweet.connoisseur
Pros: Lovely environment.
Presentation 5/5: Ordered Smoked Salmon Bruschetta flavouring was excellent. Loved the poached eggs and dill with sour cream. Everything went really well together!

Cons: More than 30 minutes wait and our drinks only arrived 5 minutes before our food.
Ordered an all green smoothie 2.5/5: there was a lot of crushed ice and tasted bland. Definitely not worth $8.

Service 4/5: Great service, staff were friendly! Thank you

Great addition to the west. Hipster look and nice ambiance, honest good food and great coffee. They are not the best however they are willing to take criticism to improve and that says a lot about a place.
Xe
Great staff and such a friendly atmosphere.
Coffee was a little burnt however the food was divine! My partner and I had the Coconut Chia Pudding, Smashed Avocado and the Eggs Benedict.

I cannot fault a single dish. The textures and flavours were so intense. My favourite would have to be the pudding. This hidden gem is a must for all food lovers.
Mini Pig
Consistent and great coffee. Food was delicious, generous servings, well presented with lots of flavor. Tasty and honest food, great to see this calibre of cafe now in the West, will be back.
Eat And Be Merry Crew
The food options confirm the impression of a good on-trend café – a smashed avocado variation, a gluten-free muesli, eggs in various incarnations, a burger, and spicy calamari salad. There is a Middle Eastern slant to several of the dishes providing a point of difference. We are attracted to two in particular: baked egg shanklish and chickpea battered cauliflower fritters with sesame yoghurt, coriander, sumac and pickled onion. You have to wait about 20 minutes for the baked eggs, but the wait is worth every minute. Two perfectly baked eggs wallow in an extremely moreish harissa tomato stew with eggplant, capsicum, sujuk (spicy beef sausage), labne and shanklish, served with a mountain of wonderfully toasted sourdough. As promised, the shanklish has mellowed and blended into the stew. It is a huge serve and full of flavour. I am very happy, mopping up the last traces of the stew with the sourdough.

It is rare to find a good cafe in west are of Melbourne, and this is one of them. The Barista making every coffee carefully done, create a taste that makes you remembered. Food also good, above average.
Kelly Shen
Coffee is really really really nice, I tried baked egg very tasty and not salty at all, my husband tried Angus burger, the chips serving on the side is Yummy, I can't stop pinching it from him. Service is quite good too. Thinking go back again with friends next time.
Mrs West
Delightful cafe in Werribee! The best coffee in town and the pancakes are always worth the trip! Staff are always lovely too and the ambience is top notch!
Jmuu
If you are a fan of baked eggs then this is the place for you. BEST BAKED EGGS EVER!! Middle Eatern style flavours. Coffee is also great and staff are friendly. I've been all over Melbourne searching for a good baked eggs and I never would have thought to find it here in Werribee. Perfect toast to dish ratio and the sauce it so flavoursome, not just overpowering with tomatoes.
Baby Bell
Very nice food and very special! Tasty on every items.... Good service and nice waitress Nice suggestions on food selection! Also...... Not pricy at all! Highly recommended

Black Seed Cafe is a great little cafe in Werribee with a spacious and well decorated interior. There is an old school bike mounted on the wall among vines, which is a pretty neat idea, but the amount of rust on it makes us a little worried about how often it is cleaned.

For a decent priced breakfast, brunch or pretty much any time meal, Black Seed Cafe is a good place to try. The staff were very friendly and the meals were brought out quite quickly. The hash brown, haloumi and beef rashers are a good selection of extras that I would definitely be back for again.

Check out the review of Black Seed Cafe in the blog post below.

I’ve been living in Melbourne since I was 18 and Brunswick was my hood. My favourite thing about living in Brunswick was the cafe culture Imo the best cafes on my doorstop ,literally walking distance so every weekend Id check out the latest and greatest in and around my suburb. Enjoying my weekend in a converted house or old milk bar sitting on milk crates with exposed brick walls hipsters a plenty and great food and coffee. Flash forward five years and these days I’m now a westsider due to the price of living and family obligations etc.

Absolutely beautiful coffee and meals at this gem of a cafe. Staff are extremely attentive and on the ball. Love going for a coffee and chat with the staff :)

It was pretty cold.. we orderd our breakfast.. i went for the smashed avacado.. as i was waiting i noticed the floors were realy dirty, you could see the kitchen. First time diner and unfortunately disappointed. Meals not as described, hot drinks not up to scratch and a very long wait for food. Doesn't make me want to come back.

By far the best and most consistent coffee in Werribee! The scrolls are also delicious. I will be returning as a regular customer and look forward to trying other things on the menu UPDATE: have since been back to try the menu and am in love! Fantastic!

What a great addition to Watton Street this is. My mate and I came here for breakfast for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it. I ordered the French brioche and I wasn't expecting it to look so pretty! It also tasted fantastic without being too sweet. My mate ordered the smashed avocado and he loved his as well. Coffee was superb as well, as was the decor. Two thumbs up from me!

My partner ordered the dukkah avocado with sour dough toast. that was also fantastic. I'm so glad for great cafe like black seed esp in werribee!! i will be back soon

An awsome latte we had, useing sensory lab blend. the food smells sooo good. we had baked eggs shanklish and kids pankcake which they were beautifully presented and tasted as it looked. The place has great atmosphere, staff were humble and have great servies. Keep up the great work guys👍

Walking past the aroma of burgers flipping on the grill (courtesy of Truck Stop Deluxe), Black Seed Cafe pops its head out on this rather nondescript Werribee street. Extremely underrated and authentic little cafe in the heart of werribee! Was rather surprised when I stumbled across this cafe and was extremely pleased with my meal (blueberry ricotta hot cake) and over all experience. The quality of the food was amazing and very flavoursome not to mention looked gorgeous on the plate. The special seasoning they use on their wedges and chips is noticeably delicious aswell! The atmosphere of the cafe is really cute and the urban feel and wooden surroundings give it a great vibe. Owners and staff are so friendly and always make me feel welcome. I am yet to find a fault in this hidden gem and will be coming back until I have tried every little thing on the menu! Thumbs up
