Review Golden Palace - Werribee

Very impressed! The food was fresh, very tasty and was steaming hot and prepared quickly. Based on the more recent reviews on here I nearly didn't order, but had driven there as was picking up some dinner on my way home and am new to the area. I thought surely it can't be as bad as some of the reviews. Well in my view something is not right as my experience does not match recent reviews. Shop was busy, clean and buzzing and I waited for my order to be prepared which was very quick and I would go as far as to say this would be among one of the best Chinese TA meals I have had. I ordered some entree items, Satay Chicken main size with rice, Special Fried Rice and an Aussie must have - Sweet and Sour Chicken (deep fried golden crispy chicken pieces) and they were! Whole meal was lovely and good value - even have some left overs for lunch today.... Can't wait! I'll be back.

Great food. Got delivered the wrong meat in one of our dishes. Called the restaurant- just to let them know - and they resolved the issue quickly. Couldn't be happier with the service.

Worst customer service! We decided to dine in, we walked in and the lady just stood there looking at us all angry, we said table for 6 please and she just pointed at the table. Someone had come in at the same time as we asked for a high chair the lady said “ wait I’m serving a customer. The whole time we were in there we felt so uncomfortable. The worst customer service I have ever come across.

Called up the Golden Palace on a Saturday night after work to get some take away. I spoke to a male & placed my order he said bring cash because they have a minimum eft of $20.00 told me that if I didn't have cash to go to the ATM & withdraw the money. I called back to cancel my order thinking that if you are going to have dishes for $15.00 on your menu then you should except eft as payment the male that answered the phone was rube & abrupt so I called in to Wok This Way right next door ordered my food which was $15.00 and paid with my card no cash needed & to be honest it looked like Golden Palace could of done with the business as there was only 4 people in the restaurant. FYI: It is actually illegal to refuse anyone that wants to pay with their card no matter how small the amount but I will be sure to tell anyone I talk to how rude your staff are.

Do not go to this restaurant it’s a real shame because we used to go here a couple of times and the food was and is still fantastic but the front of house owner could not care about customer service and she just wants to get them your money and get rid of you. The food was fantastic and I personally spoke to the chef who seemed to be very appreciative but the front of house apparently owner could not care less.

Had my daughter birthday party there. Kit provided great service. Food delivered quickly and was delicious. Would recommend.

Ordered from Menulog. Easy, no hassle delivery and friendly service. Food was good, a little on the cold side which was a bit disappointing since they're only 6 minutes away. Singapore noodles were delicious. Will order again sometime.

Average tasty food, not much customer friendly & a bit pricey 😐. However, wide range of choices and very neat and tidy.

We ordered through menu log and the food was disappointing. I’m a huge fan of honey chicken so I ordered that. The chicken and the honey dip came seperately. Then chick was soggy and the honey dip was soo watery. I was soo disappointed because it was soo tasteless. It tasted like a sugary water. And the Chinese sausage was dosed with Peking duck sauce and for me it was too strong. The only thing I ate was the bag of prawn crackers

Absolutely disgusting customer service. The rudest staff and policies I can ever remember coming across.<br/><br/>Popped in with my partner last night for a light snack to unwind after the day. Ordered a couple of entree's and a glass of wine. The waitress hovered over us the whole time while we were eating which was annoying and rude. Went to pay and told it's a minimum of $15 order person so we need to order $12 more worth of food then pointed to fine print on the 2nd page of their menu down the bottom. <br/><br/>We looked at the menu, decided we weren't hungry for more, and then went to speak to them saying that had we have known their policy and had it been made clear that it should be written clearly on their front window or at the front desk or more importantly at the very front of the menu we wouldn't have ordered. <br/><br/>I said I would happily pay for what we ordered but not am not going to order and pay for more. Rather than apologise for the confusion and say that we know for next time as one would do for good customer service they became angry, told us they wouldn't accept my payment unless I ordered and paid more money. <br/><br/>I calmly told them again I would pay for what we ordered but no more. The head waitress rudely said we should have gone to McDonald’s. They tried to claim they were losing money to which I said then they should adjust their pricing if this is the case and what we ordered and paid for is above their policy for one person so it makes no difference. <br/><br/>We have eaten out all over Werribee and never seen such a policy. They continued their hard line to which I told them their policy was not legal if it is not clear upfront and I offered to call the police which I did. The police called the restaurant after which they said they would accept our payment for what we ordered. Completely dumbfounded as to their rudeness and ridiculous, nonsensical and unclear policy. Would have been fine had they sad that we know for next time but that didn't happen. Won't be going back. Food is OK but not outstanding. Have been there before and tends to be overly oily and salty.

Don't bother. Use to go to Red Pepper frequently. Went once to Golden Palace. Owner watched us like a hawk. Food was ordinary, and much smaller serves. Never again.

So very sad to see the end of Red Pepper in Werribee.  Went last night for our normal take-out order to find it had changed to Golden Palace.  Rice was terrible which used to be my favorite.  We were over charged (although I did figure out that it was because they had written down the order incorrectly).  We ate about a third of our order and threw the rest away.  Now looking for a new option after nearly 7 years of going exclusively to Red Pepper for our take-out treat.

This place is now called Golden Palace. New management and new chef. The food is now a disaster. I had sweet and sour prawns. The prawns were dry and tasted like they were off. Every meal was very bland. Never again.

Don't waste your time and money. Ridiculous service! Only been twice, one time was mother's day and the other just regular day. Both times absolutely ridicilous waiting time for food to arrive. Food is ok, not bad but wouldn't call fantastic either and too pricey. Could get better food and better service elsewhere. I will not come back do not recommend this place at all!

Shocking service. The food was beautiful however it took over 40 min to get drinks, 45 min to get two steam dim SIM, another 45 min for mains which hubbys came first my was 15 min later. Ice cream took 40 min to arrive from ordering and to paid was a 15 min process. Beautiful food.....very hard process!!!! Went out for relaxing meal....not what we got. We should have been like other customers who up and left!!!!

Second to none!. Lovely Service, Tasty Food, and priced accordingly. Plus they do home delivery! What more can you ask for?!

Best char hor fun going around, real prawns, squid. Quick and freindly takeaway service! Give glory a miss, this is the real deal!

One of the worst food I have ever tasted.<br/>The nasi goreng was so bland and the Singapore noodles dint look fresh. Yuck<br/>Pls dont waste ur money and time.<br/>Best Thai food is Fresh Chilli in Wyndham vale. <br/>Unbeatable quality and taste.

Went on valentines day 2014.. Service was extremely slow took 1 hr 20 min for main to arrive, without the rice and a knife for my steak.. The floor needed cleaning and roof as where I was sitting was cobwebs and bugs on the floor.<br/>Food tasted good though but it seemed like the takeaway orders were getting much more priority over long waiting customers inside. Maybe not the best place to go on a special occasion.

Take Away Below Expectation. I have dine in twice but decided to get a takeaway over the weekend and the taste was very different. It was horrible and there were hardly any pork, prawns or vegetables in both our fried rice and char keow tiaw. Very dissapointed. Will not eat here anymore.

USA scollops. I have been to the Red Pepper Restaurant many times in the last five years and enjoyed the take away and dinning in.<br/>However i took my new partner there last week and ordered scollops.<br/>To my surprise the scollops were shocking and not real scollops at all.When i questioned the man he said they were States or USA,scollops.<br/>They looked like they had been cut out of sting ray flaps with a round punch<br/>They have lost us for ever and he was rude about the matter also..Service with a grunt not a smile.

A Local Favourite.. One of my favourites. Good food, generous serves at reasonable prices. What more can you ask for?

Best Chinese in the west! Had the Malay banquet for 8.5 for lunch and it was incredible! Didnt come away feeling full, bloated or blah. The deepfried ice cream and fritters were to die for. Loved it and so did my family who travelled from Warrnambool!!

Very poor eating experience. Meal was very unsatisfactory spent 70 dollars and felt like i got reheated food. no wonder the delivery was so quick... beef and black bean combo was bland cashew were soft. home made dim sims and the chicken satay skewers were awful. well least my pets will be happy. maybe... went by other peoples reviews and thought i'd try somewhere new. will stick to shining palace from now on...

Hidden Gem. Lovely Ambience and great service. I liked the fried whole flounder. The Char Kway Teow is great and so are the Msian dishes.

The best Malaysian food I have eaten outside of Malaysia. Actually, come to think of it, I've actually had worse nasi goreng in Malaysia. The red curry chicken is the best I have eaten anywhere, ever. The beef rendang and Malaysian chicken curry are also excellent. (It's just a shame they don't do take-away roti.) In short: I cannot recommend Red Pepper highly enough. Eat there.

14/0412. We had a great family dinner this evening, restored our faith in Chinese food, we have had some pretty average Chinese since arriving here 6 months ago. Its our top Chinese in the Point Cook/Werribee area ! and the service was excellent and friendly.

Nice casual eating area, a little squashed. Good service and good food.
