Review Charlie Chan - West Lakes

The portions have gotten so tiny it's like a comedy sketch. The spring roll that you get in the "meal deal" is a cocktail spring roll, not regular sized 🤣🤣🤣. Here's a photo! Bear in mind that I have really small hands, people laugh at how small they are already!

Absolutely shameful place. I went with a friend and we ordered two meals. When the lady behind the counter said the price, it was more then the price on the board, she had added 'extra meat' for a dollar extra. She did it so she could get more money out of us. We sucked it up, cos it probably would be a tiny amount of meat, not enough to feed someone. Which is sad cos that's the point of a restaurant. We paid and she said that my friends payment hadn't gone through and he should pay again, so he checked his bank app, it said the money had gone through to them. But she still refused. This is a disgrace. You guys should shut because you don't deserve to own a place like this for your behaviour.

Food was amazing best pork belly and lemon grass chicken. It's definitely a must to eat 😋

Have been buying take away from CC Westlakes for YEARS, recently ive noticed i get charged different amounts for the same order, i order fried rice and Veg in sauce ( no meat or seafood) to go, no drinks or anything else..... last time i paid it was a total of $17!!!!!!! so overpriced, will be going elsewhere.

$20.90 for a small plate of food & drink. Disgraceful… If your price is that high you would expect the food to be much better quality/ tasting.

Terrible experience. Overcooked meat, and overpriced meal. I couldn't eat it all and had to throw away the rest in the bin.
Grace Linardakis
Way overpriced and small serves. Spices next door is so much better but for some reason was closed.

I've visited this place twice. Very expensive restaurant. The food wasn't great on my first visit. Gave it another try on my second visit. Nope. won't be coming back here again.

Delicious food freshly prepared we got here at 11am and the food was piled high. Braised beef and lemongrass chicken took our eye 2 meats and fried rice for $15.90 not a bad deal.

On a good day when the food is fresh, the flavours are good. But I have to agree with the other review on here, that it is hit and miss. Very expensive, tiny plates and they were reluctant to give me an extra fork when I asked. BE WARNED: Do NOT go there at the end of the day when everything is completely dried out and inedible. The lemongrass chicken was like beef jerky, gluggy rice, and sloppy broccoli. Complete rip off.

Too pricey for food court food. Food hit and miss. Honey chicken and fried rice generally safest option. Bahn mi rolls were pretty good. Very busy.

Restaurant prices but actually tastes like cheap street food. The rice was gluggy and the meat dishes were barely warm and totally flavourless. Wouldn't bother.

Son needed to get a hair cut so down to West Lakes.

While we were there a quick meal was needed so the Food Court seemed handy.

Green chicken curry that tasted of... Well nothing really. The rice was just a glug. What sort of a place calling itself an Asian restaurant can't cook rice so it's not just a white blob?

The chicken meat was entertaining. You could spend quite a while trying to guess what part of the chicken it came from..... The cheap part I suspect. It had been sitting in a bain Marie so long that it had sort of pickled. Nothing to recommend at all.

But the topper was the beef sate. Huge bits of beef on a skewer that were immersed in a peanut sauce in a bain Marie. One of the skewers had been sitting out of the sauce and had dried out from the lights above the food.

The solution? Throw out the crispy one that had clearly been there a while. Not at all. Just tip a jug of water into the contains and stir the lot up so there was more sauce in the bowl to cover it.

I predict a long night of stomach trouble ahead.
