Highly recommended restaurant.
I took my mother to Sawmill for Mother’s Day for breakfast and I cannot complement the restaurant enough. Everything from the service, to the selection of food and quality of the food is of a high standard and is without doubt one of the best restaurants on the North Shore. My Mother had an incredible experience as the team at Sawmill made my mother feel special and I thank the team at Sawmill for providing this experience.
I highly recommend the Sawmill for any occasion.
Absolutely amazing. We had driven 13 hours from Queensland and arrived almost on closing. The staff tailored food to what they could do and served us with professionalism and a warmth you only see in the best restaurants.
Absolutely fantastic. We will be back!
Food was out of this world, I'm running out of superlatives to describe this place!
Just discovered this awesome cafe, YUM! Gluten free options and healthy delicious food, I’ll be back. (the possibility of gluten free pancakes is very exciting! Fingers crossed)

Attention to detail in the decor and the ambiance second to none...not to mention the impeccable customer service!!!! But wait the food is to die for it tastes even better than it looks or smells...words doesn't do this place justice...this is must if you love food and customer service with a Mediterranean twist...Yum, Yum...Yum
Fantastic meal! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming with friendly staff members. It looks absolutely amazing inside with decorations to suit the name.
The pizza was one of the best woodfired pizza's I have ever eaten, simple yet delicious!!
Beef cooked to perfection as well as the spatchcock.
Well done to the owners, you deserve all the success coming your way ☺️!!
We regularly go to The Sawmill and would highly recommend it. Excellent quality of food & extremely well catered for kids. Breakfast, lunch and dinner all covered :)
Fantastic food, staff are extremely polite and attentive, attractive space and not overly expensive. Always a good choice!
Fantastic food and lovely service tonight. Staff were patient and waited for us to finish our meals. Will highly recommend this eatery to anyone with a craving for Italian food.
Consistently brilliant food, service and atmosphere. Very impressed with how many gluten free options are available. A must if you want great wood fired pizza :)
Food And Service first class great place. Owners are amazing
We had a really lovely dinner here on Saturday night . The waitress was very pleasant and explained the specials for the night . We all shared a pear and rocket salad which was fresh and delish. Hubby and friend settled for the chicken breast which they really enjoyed . My friend’s wife and I both ordered yummy pizzas . Just coffee for dessert as we were full. Lovely atmosphere, local and we would definitely go back
Visited Sawmill for dinner, it has a nice layout and attentive staff. We ordered the bruschetta, Prosciutto and mini cannolis. The service was prompt and warm and the food good. Will definitely visit again!
Came here for a breakfast feed with some friends & everyone was impressed. From the service, to the layout, the vibes & food. I had the corn fritters which were delicious! The coffee was on point.
Am keen to come here again but maybe try out their dinner menu & cocktails!
I love it here! The manager susie and her son are so sweet and welcoming. I asked for a double ristretto and look at how it came, it looks sooo cute! The coffee is excellent. My waitress Ms. Hannah Linich was the sweetest and kindest too. Definitely recommend coming here!
Great Italian in this part of the world. Family run and authentic. I had wood fired pizza and a nice Italian red. Breakfast served all day. Service fantastic. Well worth a visit.
A cozy Italian restaurant that serves modern lunch & good wines. Their pizza range is generous and very tasty. Service is efficient and friendly.
A wonderful dining experience tonight at The Sawmill. The pasta was spot on and the pizzas are excellent. We also had the fish which was cooked perfectly. Such amazing tiramisu for dessert. Great service and overall a great dining experience. We look forward to our next visit.
While I was out west the other day, a friend had mentioned @the_sawmill cafe in West Pymble so it suited to pop in.
Double Sawmill Burger: 2x herbed beef pattys, double cheddar, lettuce, tomato, beetroot, relish on a soft bun 🍔
The burger has much potential! Truffle seasoned fries were amazing, I just felt the beef could be better with a course grind of meat and less herbs. Bun/cheese ratios were awesome. Wood-fired pizza menu too 😉👊
Absolutely adore this place. I've been here for breakfast before when I felt too sick to eat and it was torture! So many options that all look so delicious and picture perfect.
Dinner tonight was equally as lovely, with considerate and entertaining wait staff as usual at a cafe run by these guys! Everything was delicious, with the Toblerone inspired dessert as a highlight.

Before 1957, when Australia’s first large-scale shopping centre emerged to capture our retail spend, suburban strip malls reigned supreme. Designed to cater to small residential areas, they were usually characterised by rather plain architecture and stores arranged in a single row. Fronted by just fifteen car spaces, Gordon West Shops punches above its weight for a tiny strip mall. Boundary changes mean it’s actually located in Duneba Avenue, West Pymble; a sleepy, tree-lined residential street that bucks the usual strip mall tradition of facing directly onto a major traffic arterial. What lifts this little strip mall into a suburban gem is the combined weight of three interesting businesses… Taking care of your immediate eating needs, The Sawmill is the strip’s most recent addition. With colour cycling bar lighting, recycled timber and exposed Edison bulbs, the slick fit-out might have you scoffing about inner city hipsters, but closer inspection will reveal they’ve used the timber tool design elements to connect the space to the area’s first post-indigenous land usage: logging. Wood is also employed in the cooking, courtesy of an imported Italian gas and wood-fire pizza oven, turning out credible hand-made pizzas that sit nicely between thick and thin. The burning logs help give the bases a smoky edge, which you can taste best against the simplicity of buffalo mozzarella, tomato and freshly torn basil on the Margherita ($20). A colourful medley of cherry tomatoes, yellow capsicum, zucchini, eggplant and bright green spinach make...
Such a wonderful restaurant, run by some really passionate and welcoming staff!
Had the opportunity to try the Zucchini and Corn Fritters served with poached eggs, Haloumi Stack and the Pancakes with salted caramel icecream - hard to choose a favourite!
The new lunchtime pizzas were delicious and I can't say enough good things about the selection of house-made pastries by Rocco the Italian Opera singing pastry chef!
[Invite] Housed in what felt like a quiet small town/suburban street is Sawmill Café. Themed around the sawmills that used to be in the area; you’ll note their signage with the corten saw and the rustic timber look inside, and there’s even large saws built into the balustrade here. The venue has pared back the fitout, removed the gyprock ceiling to reveal a timber soffit which adds to the venues homeliness. Sawmill is casual café with an Italian edge and converts into an Italian restaurant at night; the breakfast/lunch menu however focuses more on classic café favourites, pancakes, burgers, salad, stacks and fritters.
I really enjoyed the Sawmill on the weekend with my family for brunch, the food was homely and delicious, atmosphere was lively yet relaxing and service was fantastic! Will definitely be back soon
Absolutely love coming here for breakfast with the girls! The food is amazing and the staff are always so helpful and friendly. Would recommend this place to everyone!
So happy to find this stunning local eatery. Well conceived design incorporating an element of local history. Service was efficient, friendly and accommodating. Terrific menu, tasty and well executed during a busy lunchtime. They were happy to show us their dinner menu ( can't wait to go back and try ) comprehensive wine and drinks list also. Plus they do take away pizza. While we were there we noted how helpful the staff were to families with prams and youngsters. Go soon.
Just what the north shore needed.
Good food, coffee is on point, pizzas are the best I have had anywhere. Desserts are amazing and the service is friendly and professional.
Great fit out in a little tucked away location.
Must try!!
Love this place, have been multiple time with friends and can say I have always left with a smile on my face and a full stomach. The food is delicious and the staff are awesome. Defiantly be back for more
We are so excited to finally have an excellent eatery on the upper north shore. We have visited the Sawmill for breakfast and dinner and on both occasions were blown away by the quality of the food and the excellent service. The gnocchi with hazelnuts and brown sage butter were exceptional! (So light and melted in the mouth). Fantastic coffee and a great atmosphere. We will definitely be back.
Can not fault the service or food! Pizzas were to die for. Great selection of cocktails and the in house pastry chef creates some of the most delicious desert options I've had in a long time. A must visit.
Pizza dough dry, hard, solid, seems the chef forgot yeast?
Garlic prawn pizza almost got no cheese, taste bland.
First time trial, may give another go to see if last night was one off, yet still......

Spoke to Farouk, will try again sometime next week and report back.

27 May.
Went to The Sawmill tonight, ordered same pizza take away, total satisfaction! Thank you Farouk, we will return.
Wow!!…….. Totally it is a place to go with your partner, family, kids or friends, Excellent fresh and delicious food. Friendly and amazing service, great atmosphere.
Went there last night for a double birthday celebration. It was fantastic! The place is lovely and has a great vibe. The food is delicious and reasonably priced! The staff are wonderful - very friendly and efficient! It was a lovely night! Will go there again!
Went for an after work get together. Although a bit slow, we received pretty good service for our big group and it was a busy night. The food is good. We tried a few appetisers and some of the pizzas. The pizza base and crust are thin and delicious. The drinks were good too and they had quite a few to choose from (wine, hard drinks, cocktails, mocktails). Happy the straws are paper (thumbs up for being environmental!). Very satisfied with the food and drinks, and they are well priced. Parking is easy which is always a good bonus.
Really loved dining at this casual yet refined diner. Staff are very welcoming and professional. We enjoyed the passionfruit mojito (I'll get that next time) and lycee martini. The anti Pasto platter is huge... No need to get anything else for an entree. The prawns as a main are much bigger than they sound and are cooked perfectly. The procuitto pizza was just divine. I'll be back for that pizza. Highly recommend this place.
