Great place to hang out with friends. Drink selection is amazing and very nice too. They let you try first. My favourite is the Golden Ale. Had the parma this time round and it was nice, crunchy and a nice touch of pulled pork instead of ham on top. Definitely doesn't deserve the 2.7 star rating. Those people must've tried the chef's tasting platter which I was not a fan of first time around.
Great place! The food is excellent and the service is also great. Highly recommended for workday evening dinner or weekend get together. Will come back againš
Didn't even recognise the old Wheelers Main Bar.
In for Dinner on Saturday night with 3 friends.
Loved the new look, Staff & Food both great.
Not a huge Beer fan, but lots of good wines to choose from as well.
This place is a breath of fresh air, exactly what the area has needed. Stylishly renovated. Relaxed atmosphere. Helpful and friendly staff. Food with flavour and simplicity. Multiple different areas to dine or just have a drink with a full table service area, a more casual dining, bistro style area. A deck with a view, thatās perfect for a Sunday Sippers Session and the downstairs sports bar.
Staff tell me there is live music Thursday nights, Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons too.
Weāll be back for a boogie for sure!!
Little gem in the area, hardly to find any equal deco, modern venue compare to this one unless travel to the nearest Glen Waverley or Knox. It has been popular since opened, I like the rooftop bar, wide list of wine and has two potions choices.
We came here for a birthday dinner and had a great time!
Food: We ordered a variety of food. I had the calamari, mac and cheese crouquettes and the steak sandwich. I really liked the steak sandwich, toasted bun with juicy meat, bacon and a thick layer of salad to balance it all out. I would not recommend the calamari solely based on price, they were delicious but we recieved 7 calamari for about $16. The mac and cheese was probably the best as it was creamy and had a lot of flavour.
We ordered the paddle as well and were treated to a variety of beers and ciders. There's a wide range of beers avaliable on tap.
Service: Service was great by our server, a middle ages man who was very friendly and always checked up on us!
Ambience: Very chill environment with two levels, one for dining one for casual drinks. Recently renovated and got a nice modern Australian touch. I would recommend this place for casual drinks after work to a nice family dinner or date.
Growing up in glen waverley I was thrilled when they actually did something with this place. Service was awesome from the moment we walked in. Food came really quickly which the kids liked.
Love the decor, wasnāt too loud but getting busy when we left. Will make another trip soon
Great brews! Nice food. Little slow on getting cocktails out but good experience over all. The beer paddles are a good way to sample a variety of beers.
We ordered a shared platter for the kids and a cured salmon salad for myself. Food was delicious, kids menu was better than most but would like to see a pasta on the menu. However, the pumpkin hummus and carrot sticks are a good snack idea for the kids.
The ambience is great and would be great in the outdoor area over summer. The restaurant is upstairs though, so not suitable for elderly, disabled or young children.
Husband ordered a steak sandwich, possibly the let down of the day with the meat over cooked and no relief with any sauce.
Craft beers great, floor staff friendly and good knowledge of drinks.
Would come back, and recommend
This place absolutely rocks! The way they have the fitout is great! The rooftop is perfect! Sitting out in the sun having good beers is perfection š. Well priced paddles (beer samplers) and great chips! Nothing to complain about here
Revamped old Wheelers Hill Hotel is great. The outdoor terrace will be a big hit in summer. The food is reasonably priced and the mushroom goulash gnocchi and the rogue Parma were excellent. Will be a regular.
It's always a great feeling when you lob up at a place that's brand new. Everything is fresh. Everything from the decor through to the dunnies, brand spanking new. The Dear Luncher was busting for a p155 upon arrival and the toilets were just palatial. Stunning.
Moving right along, everything else about the Rogue Squire is palatial too. When you walk in downstairs it looks like a pretty dull affair, but then you realise the main event is upstairs. That's when you get the real wow factor, climb up and take a look.
The menu is well represented by your traditional Melbourne pub grub. Good balance of options throughout. And of course the beer range, although exclusively Squires, is quite good. If you're not into their mass produced stuff, they seem to have a few taps dedicated to their special, limited edition brews. This is what The Dear Luncher recommends.Ā
The cheeseburger sampled was above average. The only let down was the party being cooked well done. To be expected at pubs, so this wasn't a big deal. The Fellow Luncher in attendance spoke very highly of the steak sandwich. He paid homage to it by mentioning the steak as "not chewy" which you can sometimes get with steak sangas. No cheap cuts here.Ā
However the highlight for us both were the mac and cheese croquettes. Served with a beetroot sauce, these had all the desired characteristics of a well executed croquette. Excellent cheese ooze.
All in all a very good new addition to what is essentially one of the more boring suburbs going around in Wheelers Hill. Already popular with the locals and who could blame them? They now have a decent gastro pub.Ā
My partner and I loved it, the makeover looks amazing and the food and service were great. We left very happy and will definitely be returning!
Yeahhhh, Wheelers Hill rocks and now we have The rogue Squire here! Itās getting better and better in this area, love it š We had a amazing time, lovely people and good food/beer . Canāt wait to sit outside, itās stunning š
