Staff was friendly and food is quick! Tasty too! This place is what it sets out to be, it doesnt try to be something it is not. Only point for improvement is that two tables are very very close to the toilets.
A friendly, affordable and authentic little eatery in Collins Road, Willetton. Been here four times now, their ice kachang is one of the best I've had in Perth and their mains are tasty.
Seriously if you’re looking for affordable and generous portion food, this is the place to go to! People might have complained about the cashier lady being a bit abrupt when customers didn’t realise that they have to know their table number when ordering food by the counter. But overall, I keep coming back to this place because of their yee mee, fried kuay teow, and chendol!
My go-to for a quick and filling meal. If you're craving asian takeaway (or dine-in!) this is definitely a great spot. On weekends they also have bonus asian desserts (kuih) made fresh and delicious.
My favorite dish is Yong Tou Foo laksa and I would definitely share my husband 's Ho Fun in egg gravy! For take away I would highly recommend Meegoren!
Great noodle dishes, the vegie fried kuay teow is my favourite and the ice kachung is pretty good too. Prices are reasonable and a lot of seating available.
We have been coming to Taurus on and off over the last few years and last night, decided to have dinner there. We ordered the yong tofu laksa, the chicken ho fun and fried kway teow. As it was still quiet at that time, the food came out quick. The laksa was tasty, the soup was thick and flavoursome with a good amount of yong tofu but it tasted slightly sweeter than normal. The ho fun was okay. The fried kway teow wasn't too oily which was good but it didn't have sufficient wok hei taste to it. We also didn't find the rice noodles in both the ho fun and kway teow particularly good tasting yesterday. It lacked that smoothness to it. Taurus is like an institution here in Willetton and with the reasonable prices and quantity of the food, it is still a great place to dine in. Btw, the young lady who served us was pleasant, always a plus in my books.
I had the 'Regular' size Mee Goreng. I can't remember the name but it's the version with the Tomato sauce and lemon. Such a big serve and very very generous with the meat and seafood. We also tried the Seafood curry Laksa and were not disappointed. Not sure about the other reviews but I found the service fine, serving sizes huge and the food very well priced at under $30 for 2 including drinks. Only negatives were that the Laksa didn't need the fake crab on top and we were very thirsty afterwards perhaps from too much MSG. The taste of both dishes was very very good. Given the price, taste and serving sizes I'm not too sure what the other negative reviewers expect. I think these same people would complain wherever they go. I gave 4.5 overall and I hope it counteracts some of the other very negative reviews. Definitely a must visit Hawker place in Perth.
Love their yong tofu laksa, bak mee goreng, lobak roll...so yummy!! Huge portion and authentic hawker style food. A regular customer here, will always come back for more.
A very casual atmosphere for some Singaporean/Malaysian hawker food. It's pretty well priced and I've tried a few of the dishes here including the laksa, roast pork & charsiu rice and seafood noodles. All had good flavour and it's probably my go to place for hawker food around the area. The place is nothing fancy but they do decent food and portions for the price.
They do alright food with alright portions and offer pretty good customer service. The large portions albeit costing around the $15 mark are huge so definitely good to go to if you're hungry and in need of a tasty, large fix of Chinese.
A generally crappy strip of shops though is where it's located at, making the restaurant very unattractive to go to.
Great hawker style food with a wide variety of dishes to choose from. Good value for money and large servings. The food comes out relatively quickly here. Not a fancy place, so don’t expect too much. The stir fried noodles have a nice ‘wok’ taste to it and the laksa is full of flavour and they are generous with their noodles and chicken. They offer some specials on the weekend such as nasi lemak. I have to admit though that the restaurant has deteriorated a little bit. It does get quite busy and sometimes you have to wait to be seated. There are other restaurants next door such as Bamboo and Yum Cha House which are good alternatives.
The service may not be the best, the food may not be gourmet, but what do you expect for a low cost, value for money Hawker cuisine.
If you're after a quick, filling meal that won't hurt the bank but isn't as dirty as fast food, here is the excellent choice. It does not disappoint unless you're expecting Crown Silks quality food for cheap.
Delicious! Food is pretty authentic here, great prices and generous portions. Don't need more than that! It might get busy for dinner but waits aren't long.
Great hawker style food. Have been going here for years and never disappointed. I think one of the best places for Hokkien new. Definitely recommend.
Yummy Food. Good food, big quantities. Love the Lor Mee. Pretty authentic!
Penang Assam Laksa. For penangites or assam laksa lovers, the most authentic penang laksa ever in Perth I should say! you can request for less or separate prawn paste (hae ko) if you don't like the taste.
Cheap eat. Food is cheap but so is decor. I come here for a quick meal but msg is a bit heavy. Nevertheless, it is cheap. I usually come for fried kway tiaw and roast pork.
Hawker style decent food-good price. Visited this place last month.
Ordered sweet corn chicken soup, nasi lemak and chicken rendang.
Large portions to fill you up; quality alright; service ok; prices reasonable for the quantity.
Will return again.
Food was good, large portions. Staff who served us however was rude - a smile wouldn't hurt!
Unpretentious, authentic and affordable Malaysian hawker food. Curry laksa is very good and everything else is good too.
Taurus Rocks!. You can't go wrong with Taurus. The food is so cheap. So tasty. Quite informal dining, but it's always clean and nicely air conditioned. What else could you ask for?
4 stars. If you want to eat authentic Malaysian/Singaporean food this is one of the best restaurants.
Yes, i agree that that this restaurant has deteriorated, but lately i've discovered that they've had the effort of improving they're food. They've added new dishes to the menu, which are worthwhile to try.
The price is cheap and the food is served warm and delicious.
Wonton soup all the way!! Close to the best iv had.
All around good place. Mee Goreng! Mee Goreng!
I have had a few items off of the menu, the portions are good and the wait time is not too long.
I always come back for the Mee Goreng though, its just such a yummy basic meal.
Spicy food lovers and those who prefer mild and tasty will all find something here they can enjoy.
Dine in or take away, and they also have had EFTPOS for a while now.
Went for dinner at 6 and was already half full! Food was tasty and serving size very generous!!
Decent Hawker Food. Malaysian hawker food. Good seafood yee meen, yummy yong tau foo noodles, so-so chicken rice, okay (when the craving hits) assam laksa.
The kuih talam and kuih bengkang are pretty good.
Been there over many years. Food standard drop since new owner took over. Overall, still ok to go back for quick a meal.
Awesome. Been going there for years.. granted the interior is nothing flash, just like a food hall.. but who cares, you are there for the food, and the food is great, awesome range and great serving sizes/prices. Their Chendol is the best i have ever had.. you wont be disappointed!
Yummy Beef Rendang. Food here is so tasty! Generous portions also. The place has no atmosphere, kind of like a food hall. Who cares when the food is so good!
Good food, generous portions and really nice friendly staff.
Excellent Value for money. Big meal sizes and its all about the taste too. excellent value for money and I can't go past the lobak roll and crispy pork roast. Prepare to put up with waiting for your meals but it will all be worth it.
There is a quite a large offering among the different hawker stalls and is exceptional value. The locals like it as it’s always packed and many people head there after work to pick up dinner for the family. It’s certainly worth a try.
The last time we went to Taurus, my brother-in-law told me that this was his most favourite place during his uni days for affordable, honest-to-god good Malaysian food. It's not because he's a sentimental bloke that he kept going there every so often even
When you craving an Authentic Malaysian Meals in South of the River, this place will make you their loyal customer!!!
Service is good, super quick but then it also makes you wonder if it is fresh? Well, all I can say is the food is yum! The Ho-Fun was just delicious and it was packed with meat, just like I love it! The drinks were nice as well. All decently priced I would say.
Been visiting this place for the past few days! Decent and delicious food.
It's on the oily side but it taste good, just like street food
