Service is very fast and the food is tasty and authentic, also reasonably priced for portions. The best items are the peking spare ribs, leafy greens, sizzling tofu. Dessert is also good - they serve fried ice cream. The Thai chicken was average, I will go there again but I don't think I will order the Thai chicken again.
Been here a fair few times . Always tasty food . Good service. Never any problems. Recommend the soups . Kids love the food as well.will be back again
We haven't been here for ages and came here to have some take away on a weekday. . We had the seafood ho fun, it was quite delicious but a touch too salty. Service was friendly, quick and efficient. Price is very reasonable too.
A quite good place to have lunch with family on Sunday afternoon, being in Willetton area where lots of Asian restaurants around.
Panda🐼🐼🐼:
Sizzling Japanese Egg Tofu (highlight of the day👏🏻)
Sizzling Prawn Sambal
Roasted Duck
Salt & Pepper Squid
Garlic Chinese Broccoli/Gai Lan
Soya beancurd (very similar to the one in Spore)
Pandont❌❌❌:
Roasted pork (not crispy, taste like its been reheated over & over again)
Service was really meh
Steamed rice (Undercooked 😩)
Asking for extra pickled chilli/chili oil bcs they’ll charge you
The reason I give this place 3.5 rating although the foods were pretty decent is bcs they will need to improve alot on their service, had to ask few times just for a tap water😐
The price is ok & they do provide lunch menus for around $10-$13
Would love to come back when I visit Perth next time and I do look forward for improvements!
Best dishes are Laksa, Malaysian Curry, Salted Fish and chicken fried rice, Salted Fish and veggies , Duck Wanton soup 🙊
FAST service, GREAT food 💖
Decent food. Fast service. We ordered Char kuey teow and the laksa, both tasted great and was generous in portion. We also ordered the cendol for desert . However one thing I'll note is that there was quite an amount of MSG in the CKT, which left me feeling quite thirsty for the rest of the night. Other than that, I would come back.
There are so many restaurants on Colin Street in Willetton to try. I’ve nearly eaten at each place including: Joy’s Garden Cafe, Yuki Japanese, Taurus Hawkers Food and Yum Cha House. Rumours has it that it is an expansion of the family business Taurus and thus the similarity. My partner and I have been here on a number of occasions (for lunch and dinner) and really enjoy the food. Although it is often busy, service is efficient and food comes out relatively fast. Whilst some people have complained that the food here is inconsistent, we have not had any issues to date. Prices are quite cheap as well and portion sizes are generous. I really enjoy the yong tau fu laksa here which combines two of my favourite dishes: laksa and you guessed it yong tau fu noodle soup. I also love the ice kachang here, which is one of my favourite Malaysian desserts – so good on a hot summer’s day. We don’t go here on a regular basis just because there are so many other restaurants in the area which means we are spoilt for choice. Whilst I wouldn’t drive all the way from north of the river to eat here, I would consider it an option if I am in the area. I would recommend the place if you’re a local.
Amazing food, great service and very well priced. We had the Malaysian chicken curry and rice, crispy roast pork (sml), prawn fritters and fried rice. So good!!!
Somewhere nestled in a Perth suburbia, one can find fulfilment to many Asian cravings. Amongst them, is the sweeten-palm-sugary-coconutty ice chendol drink and the 2 meat combination rice that gave me well charred roast pork and fattily juicy pork belly with fragrantly oiled rice. And please ask for the sambal chili to go with it. I couldn't stop at one!
A Singaporean restaurant that does not use the Singapore name in vain. It has ice kachang, Singaporean dishes and one dish meals amongst others. Peking spare ribs are my favourite here but most dishes are great. On the other hand, a lot of MSG such that I can never sleep after a meal here. Also, restaurant seating is not very good. Last 4 times I was there, I either had to sit on tables joint with those of strangers or some very hard chair in a corner without service really paying attention
Grabbed some takeaway here tonight after thinking about the Malaysian Curry Chicken for the last 4.5 years since my last visit (when I worked nearby and popped by for lunch regularly).
Was it as good as I remember?
Hell yeah! I walked in and was pleased to see some familiar faces behind the counter - off to a good start I thought.
Well got home after the 40min round trip and tucked into some San Choy Bow, Malaysian Curry Chicken and Beef Rendang. Wow, same old taste and flavours.
Great value too. Worth the drive if you love tasty and great value Singaporean cuisine.
This is the first time we have been here. The shop is next to a korea store. Look from the outside, you wouldn't know how crowded it is. My order ( crispy pork w noodle) came really quick and it is delicious. My husband ordered Laksa and he said the taste is not similar with what he used to eat in singapore.
I ordered duck noodle and husband ordered Rochor Mee. Food was decent and portion was good. Huge menu with plenty of choices. Not superb but simple food good enough to satisfy our craving for taste of home.
Good food, quite affordable too! They have one of the best cendol in Perth. Portion is big too. I love their nasi lemak for an individual meal.
We come here often for a cheap no fuss meal. I LOVE the Malaysian chicken curry. It is always delicious. It's BYO which is good. Always under $40 for two with an entree.
Been here twice now. First time had the beef rendang and a duck dish. The rendang was beautiful and the portion massive. The duck was tough and not good. Tonight we had the Peking spare ribs and crispy chicken with vinegar sauce and both were really got. Just got to pick your dishes here I think but good cheap and cheerful dining
Just left feeling like I might have pushed my stomach to its limits. We ordered the salt and pepper king prawn entree which was huge - not even proper entree size. Then my boyfriend got the hainan chicken wonton noodle soup and I got the Singapore laksa. Probably one of the best tasting laksa soups I've had in a long time. It was a huge bowl, crammed with egg noodles, chicken, tofu and got two fish balls and two prawns. Was really filling and couldn't eat it all so took the rest home. Boyfriend was impressed with his wonton soup. He likes the clear soup at Bamboo more than the clear soup from its neighbouring hawkers. Total $20 pp which was good coz we left rolling out. Could have had more chicken in the wonton noodle soup. Was about 4 pieces of chicken and 3 wontons.
Consistently good food, fast dishes, and always generous with ingredients. However, oddly slow with drinks orders and on more then a few occasions our drinks only came out when we'd almost finished our meals.
Bamboo has been a fond family favourite for years. The staff there are always so welcoming and not too busy to have a friendly chat. The dishes taste fresh and delicious, rice is perfectly cooked and the flavours are never too salty and doesn't leave me feeling heavy. The set up is a little bit cramped when you first walk in, but I like the comfy seating and mirrors in the place, you never feel it is that way when you sit down. They even have toys on a shelf for the kids when they get bored. I like their honey beef with rice, it's sweet, savoury with a generous amount of sauce and veggies are stir fried to perfection! I'm just drooling thinking about it haha
Good experience at bamboo, service was quick and food is affordable and tasty. Staff were also friendly. Enjoyed the cendol, wasn't too sweet. Everything else was nice but nothing stand out.
This is the kind of authentic Asian restaurant you don't see in Northbridge. The food are fresh, quick and cheap. Their home made lemonade is great but it's pretty sweet so if you're not a sweet tooth than ask for them to go easy on the sweetener.
The place needs more waitstaff though. Took us 15 min to get the staff attention to order additional drinks.
I always have good experiences coming here. It's one of the better places coming here for decent Singaporean/Malaysian food and at a decent price as well. All the staff here are really friendly. I haven't encountered anything negative to say. I love their drinks/dessert as the taste would be close enough to being in Asia!
Second visit here since last time was not too bad. The food this time was rather small portion and the service was not really friendly as well. Crumpled tables made a bit hard to move. However I love Chendol drink is always taste superb.
Authentic Singaporean and Malaysian cuisine. More authentic than one who named themselves as Singapore Hawkers.... Sizzling pan Tou Fu is excellent. Hot & sour soup can be very satisfying at times; consistency can be improved. Stir fry veges are nice but they can come only with stalks so try to request for more leaves if that is what you are after. Chendol is up to standard in this part of the globe. The key ladies taking orders are efficient, friendly and funny at times during off peak time but can come across curt during busy hours. Setting offers a good level of dignity to customers, given the prices of the food.
Just remember to bring along cash if you want to avoid surcharges with card payment.
Nice place for Singaporean/ Malaysian cuisine . Will be busy and crowded during peak hours. A weekday night type of take away place for quick dinner fix
Pretty good food and a great price! I definitely recommend dining in a group, as it can be awkward going as a couple and being sat at the end of another table of people because they're busy. But that's just me :P
The best chinese restaurant so far among those located at that same area. Most of the food, i would say is not superb, but is well-above average. As a student, i usually visit during lunchtime due to its affordable price and somewhat good quality of the food. The food does not leave me very thirsty unlike most chinese restaurants out there. If you are a strict food critic, the food might not impress you that much, but i am definitely sure you won't be left too disappointed either.
Good Food and Service. We ordered our usual - the Three Meat Combination, an Ice Chendol and the Laksa. We arrived just a few minutes before lunch closing time and there was just one person at the counter and one serving, but the food and quality of service was really good. Continue to be impressed by this place.
Best Chicken Satay in WA. Chicken satay with fried rice.. best i have ever had. Go back to bamboo almost every sunday for lunch.
Great food! Great service.. love it!
Service. Improve service please. It could be better. Food is moderate.
Quick service and very attentive making bringing us more tea and extra chilli when we asked. The food was good too, I love the yam duck!
BEAUTIFUL :). Great food , excellent price and hearty serves :) the menu has over 100 different dishes and if u need to change an ingrediant or add one , just ask the polite friendly staff , who will ask the chef and done , everything cooked fresh and with fast service , this place is a winner , cant wait to go back , highly recommend the chicken sweet corn soup for entree , it was delicious , and chicken satay sticks are also a winner
Awesome place , regular eater, knew the people well before they opened the place happily gone back back time and time again.
Had the Ipoh ho fun soup DEFINITELY having it again!
Like it a lot. The precinct here in Willetton is well known amongst Asians and yesterday was no exception. The car park was almost full at 1pm and there were lots of people enjoying lunch in Bamboo.
Having never been here before, but knowing its a favourite of my parents, we headed in to try it for ourselves.
The restaurant is clean and basically set. The menu is extensive and offers all the usual Singaporean favourites.
Ordered the spring rolls, satay skewers (which strangely we were told they had run out), prawn crackers, rice and pepper chicken, flat rice noodles and a chicken and corn soup.
The prawn crackers (a bargain at $1 a bag) were crisp and not oily at all. The spring rolls were disappointing; the filling was vegetarian but seemed pre-made rather than fresh. The pepper chicken was great, nice chunks of breast meat, celery, carrot and onion. The noodles had lots of flavour, prawns, egg and fish cakes which had been sliced and generously spread throughout. The chicken and corn soup was really tasty and it too had nice pieces of chicken throughout.
All up at $27.50 for three people, it was a bargain. Would definitely made the journey and eat there again.
Excellent. It is a 60 kilometre round trip to this place from my work for lunch, and its worth every metre!! Reasonable prices, fast service and top notch food!
Good food at reasonable prices. Visited this restaurant last night.
Ordered chicken sweet corn soup (one of the best i have ever had in Perth).
chicken pieces with soft & succulent.
Nasi lemak - fried fish/chicken too dry; coconut rice & sambal ok
Sizzling sambal prawns - alright $18.80
total $36.00 for 2 people.
service was alright.
ambience was good. worth fine dining.
will return.
Consistently Good. Myself and my partner (and his family) are regular diners here and the food is always satisfying, not to mention the generous portions at very cheap prices. My partner loves the mee goreng with chilli and I love the duck wonton noodle soup, though it's a bit of an effort to avoid all the duck bones.
The menu is quite extensive so it can be hard to choose, and it can get quite busy so call ahead for takeaway or be prepared to wait. Great place for uncomplicated, affordable and tasty food.
Dinner for 10 in a Saturday night. Ordered the kids dishes with entrees and all came out at the same time. Fantastic dinner, service was great (they actually used my name every timer a order was taken.) and can not believe the cost per head. Will be back for just the family again .
Loved the lohbak rolls!
Average. Started with spring rolls which were quite tasteless. For mains we had special fried rice and kway teow which was delicious! would definately order those dishes again although there is an array of dishes to choose from... to go with the fried rice we had garlic prawns the only downfall was the carrots which there was plenty of - were pickled before cooked which was not nice at all. Other than that the prawns were plentiful and cooked perfect. the last dish was beef rendang. i am not a fan as i have never had a good one adn this was no exception. i found the meat to be very soft but sinewy and gristly. It was almost to the point of mashed meat which did not appela to me. the flavours were great but the quality of meat could have been better. Staff were more than attentive adn very friendyl. Will be giving this place another shot but its nothing more than average.
Collins Road, you've done it again!. I love Bamboo! Been there several times now and never been disappointed.
They have a huge menu to select from, but I usually get the Malaysian Curry Chicken ($10.90) or the Claypot Yee Mee ($9.90). Then wash that down with an iced Teh Tarik! The servings are large, and you could almost get away with sharing one meal between two people.
It may take a while to get a table on a weekend evening so I'd recommend booking ahead, but once you are seated in the cafeteria style dining the service is fast and friendly.
It's hard to go wrong with any of the restaurants at the Collins Road hub, but Bamboo stands out with its warm service and tasteful decor.
Best Taste from Perth Australia. 0n 12/12/12- my 1st visit to Perth was never boring. I found my missing taste from Bamboo Authentic Singaporean ! The menu item 2. - Hainan Chicken Laksa was very rich in flavour. and item 19 - Hainan Chicken Rice had just the right amount of sauce. Not too oily and the chillies that match well too. Item 82 - Singapore Style Chicken Satays Sticks were all too good to compare. I had compelted my meal with a glass of Iced chendol. Since this is my first visit to Perth, my family are looking forward to return next year again. Thank you very much for their quick and services.
Absolutely great !! Was packed restaurant and heaps of take aways but still got delicious food on time and friendly service with a smile and check ups asking how things are!! 10/10 recommended to all! Thanks bamboo '
Very nice. Nice little restaurant. Food came out very quickly. BBQ port and wonton noodle soup yummy and Penang noodles even better. Will be returning.
The Crowds speak for them. Without a reservation we were amazed to be seated in 10 minutes on a busy and packed Saturday evening. What you see is what you get. Beef Rendang was just like in Malaysia, cooked tenderly and full of flavour. The Chili Prawns were fresh, of a good size and plentiful. Hard working and cheerful floor staff who managed to keep up under pressure. Well worth a visit.
Packed like sardines. And no wonder.. The first thing you notice when walking into Bamboo is how busy it is and how little space there is between tables. If you're wanting a romantic dinner this is not the place.
The few times we've been there the food has always been spot on. Especially the sticky pork ribs. O M G. The fillet steak honey pepper dish is also very good.
One thing that is odd is the only card payment options are Visa or Mastercard, which they charge you for. They don't take savings or cheque accounts. I've never seen that in any restaurant before. A cheeky bit of extra money making perhaps
Soooo good.. We arrived at just before 7pm on a Friday evening and the place was packed. With no booking, we were told there would be a 5 minute wait, but a table was available in no time. My friend and I were starving so ordered up big.
Firstly, You MUST try the home made lemon iced tea. MUST!
Spring rolls- crispy and hot, a little light on filling, a bit "meh"
Soups- crab and sweet corn, dumpling soup- both very big serves for an entree/starter, but very nice
Fried duck in plum sauce- very nice, the kind of thing you can't eat a lot of, but very crispy with a sweet plum sauce, hit the spot.
Fried rice- excellent
Sizzling szeuchuan beef- delicious, exactly how I like my szeuchuan, perfect mix of spicy heat with a yummy flavour. Nice light sauce, not gluggy or congealed like some places serve up.
Our eyes were bigger than our tummys, but that means leftovers for tomorrow!
Will be back without a doubt!
Consistently cheap Hawker meals but unfortunately the decline in flavour in some dishes is now noticeable.
Value for money. We love Bamboo... We often come here if having a CBF evening, and it is consistently good. I absolutely adore their mixed veg with oyster sauce, and we're both partial to a serving of sizzling king prawns with mango. Food is hot, fresh and flavoursome, not to mention incredibly quick and great value for money. We always eat our fill and manage to come home with enough for lunch the next day.
Good Asian food.. With an extensive menu, I'm sure there are hits and misses. I can only comment on those I tried.
Fried Kuey Teow is not authentic but good - has dried sausage and cockles which are typical ingredients.
Singapore Laksa was creamy and delicious. My tummy suffered even though I'm very tolerant to spicy foods. It was probably because of the rich coconut cream in the soup and a lot of MSG (because my heart was pounding and I was extremely thirsty after). Despite the hurdles, I would have it again.
Ice Chendol is really good! Love it - coconut milk, shaved ice, palm sugar with red bean and green chendol (flour/jelly strips).
Claypot Yee mee was ok though the noodle was not Yee Mee but some other egg noodle. Mee Goreng was ok but flavours were quite basic. Servings for combination rice was huge and very tasty - barbecue pork was a bit dry but pork belly roast was ok.
Soursop and sea coconut jelly is interesting - I like it but i know some will hate it. Very strong flavours.
Service was great - very accommodating staff . Ten of us and they got all our orders right, allowed separate bills. In my opinion, Bamboo is better than Taurus.
Tasty food. Combination Satay was absolutely stunning!! The spring rolls for entree were disappointing... the only thing they used for filling was water chestnuts! But mains were delicious
Great food, good service, try the rendang beef.
Good Singaporean food, great service and quick too. Only blemish was the fried ice cream
Which wasn’t fresh and very ordinary.
All else was good. Staff is super nice
Big meal with cheap price is so good and tasty. Thanks my friend takes me to here and enjoy the meal.
Our new favourite. True to its name, this Bamboo restaurant serves authentic Singaporean dishes for good price. Their Food is tasty with generous serving, service is pretty fast and place is clean. We dont usually book but if you plan to come in big group, it’s better to make early reservation to avoid disappointment. Location is great with easy parking.
Thank you soo much for your donations to TFH
Next level experience for our clients who enjoy!
I tell them it’s out favourite restraint!’

Good value for money, we came on Saturday evening and were quite lucky to get a seat as we reached just after 6pm. Food was served promptly after order was taken. You'll definitely have to make reservations for bigger groups or if you are intending to dine during peak hours. Lastly authentic tastes from the dishes we've ordered.
Hainanese chicken laksa
Fried Penang kway teow
Wantan soup noodles
