I love this place , I have lots of Dim Sum places closer to my home but every now and then I have to go from South Perth all the way there . Sometimes the food is not very hot but always tasty . I enjoy how much space you have in between the tables, some places are the tables so close together that you can't enjoy your food.
We got a takeaway of various steamed dumplings, squid tentacles and kailan in oyster sauce. All of it was very fresh and delicious. The girls kindly gave us some complimentary dumplings to try and a great selection of dipping sauces to take home. Yum. We'll be back for sure. Great way to have yum cha at home!
I love the Yum Char house, for me it has dim sum that are my favourites for many years now, haven't been over the Christmas period so must go after new year
I didn't realize how tempting it was I said yes to most of the foods they offer and finally realize my tummy ain't that big. It was all good taste.

Had a good time coming here. I think they have great selection of yumcha including some unique options. The yumcha taste good and the staffs were friendly and quick too! I love their baked buns (bbq pork and pineapple custard). Price is a bit high though (compared to standard yumcha).
Went today on a spur of the moment whim. The food was fresh and delicious! Pork buns, dumplings and salt and pepper squid were great. Lovely service. Could not fault.
Love their dim sum here! Overall the staff, service, food, i have got nothing to complain about! It’s location is so much more convenient for me instead of doing a long drive to northbridge, this satisfies my dim sum craving instantly. Like their egg tarts and radish cake :)!
We visited on a Saturday morning for breakfast dumplings- hooray for their early opening time. The inside was large and modern, and comfortable. The yum cha dishes were delicious, we were very impressed and will be back. Staff were lovely too.
We visited for Yum Cha on a Thursday, our first time since moving to Australia. We were pretty impressed! The Siu Mai was really yummy and my favourite prawn & coriander dumplings were delish! Everything was hot and fresh and the service was really good. It was pretty pricey though, ended up at about $65 for just me and my partner (although we aren't light eaters!) Overall a good experience and I'm sure we'll be back.
The majority of dishes were fresh and tasty and to top it off, service was excellent which is the rarest compliment for yum Cha restaurants. I'll definitely be back.
Always a good range of dumplings (lunch) and the take away is pretty speedy. Recommend the seafood rolls or the steamed prawn and chive dumplings.
I will definitely recommend. We live nearby in Riverton, it's only our first time here today for dimsum early lunch, and their food & service are both great. Enjoyed the meal. Will be back!!

Favourite place for dim sum! Always people here and the food comes really quickly, they got a lot of dim sum to choose between. The place is average pricing, so $40-45 for two people 🤔

Eaten a few times at this popular restaurant situated in the suburbs. Interior is pleasant and the staff, sometimes a bit slow on service are friendly and helpful. I enjoy the various options available to diners here. You can have a choice of either Dim Sum (menu available) or choose from the Dim Sum cart that circulates. Also available is an A la carte menu with plenty of options. Tonight we mixed things up. From the cart we chose Deep Fried Prawns and the obligatory Salt and Chilli Squid. Both delicious, tender and devoured quickly. From the A la carte menu we chose Pork Spare Ribs with Peking Sauce, King Prawn Fried Rice and Singapore Style Fried Mei Fun. The food was plentiful and really delicious. Everything was well cooked, although next time I will ask for thicker noodles in the Mei Fun. Jasmine Tea is offered free and teapots are continually topped up. With softdrinks our bill came in at just under $80, but we took home 2 containers of leftovers. Get there early on a Friday or Saturday night or you'll be waiting for a table/booth.
Good food and good service. Quite a big range available. Parking easily available which is always a plus. And they have plenty of seat capacity. Would go back again.
Why go to northbridge early on weekends when you can have Dim Sums ALL DAY ANYTIME here?! I was here at about 6.30pm today. Food was good. We only ordered the savory ones and no desserts. There's also a dinner menu if you don't want dim sum for dinner.

We were seated in front of the counter, it felt like someone
was watching us eating the whole time but they had really good service our tea
was filled up at least 6 times or maybe even more.
We order prawn dumplings, BBQ steam buns, chicken feet,
prawn rolls and squid tentacles:

BBQ steam buns, I personally liked the bun it
was nice and fluffy but the filling inside wasn’t my favourite it was dark
brown and low fat shredded pork but it did have a sweet taste. I prefer red coloured fatty pork chunks. 7/10
Prawn rolls were very fresh and tasty, seafood
is very unforgiving you can notice any off taste these prawn rolls were extremely
fresh and they had drizzle warm soy mixed with sesame seed oil. 10/10
Chicken feet my son loved them but they weren’t for
me I don’t like the ginger flavour, I like them with a stronger umami black soy
bean taste. 6/10
Squid tentacles I liked them but my wife thought
they were though and rubbery, compared to other yum cha places they are big
and thick tentacles, I reckon they were nicely seasoned and not to chewie for
me. 8/10
Overall I would recommend it, it’s the second best yum cha I’ve
been to in Perth. The new moon was the best in Perth about 1 year ago but new
moon in 2016 has a funky barn yard taste with most of their dishes now.
Came here a few months ago for the first time. The food was good but service was average. We requested some prawn dumplings and didn't receive anything for a while, assuming they forgot our order. Trollies of food didn't stop by our table that frequently. Hence we couldn't see all the foods on offer. Would be better if there was a menu to look at. Would return again for dim sum as it is closeby.

Great service, very friendly. Lots of variety of dimsum and dessert, I was happy that they serve tau foo fa, it was yummy. Deep fried eggplant was really oily but overall the food were delicious.
The first thing I noticed was the amount of non-Asian diners in this restaurant. It's so good to see that their level of service has improved being more communicative to their western customers. We booked but could see they would've been able to accommodate 2 people easily despite being almost full and catering for a large function in their function room.
All the steamed options are delicious and almost up to Northbridge standards. Almost. Fried dumplings were much too oily inside and out. Squid tentacles had been sitting in a warmer so was the worst dish by far. For those who are frequent yum cha diners, you'd understand my disappointment in this. Other than that, prices were decent and we left by rolling out the door.
Great service and friendly, constantly refilling the tea pot. A lot of food choices. Their food isn't oily and is pretty cheap compared to other dim sum restaurants.
Good dim sum, average service. We are regulars here but always early so not sure how things are for the latecomers. So far food has been up to standard and service not too bad. I know when it gets busy service might not be as good. Food wise I would say this is my current fave yum Cha place. Chicken feet is the best I've eaten so far. Shanghai dumplings, egg tarts, beef tendons, siu mai, glutinous rice dumplings are some of our faves here.

Great Yum Cha in Willetton!. Me and my husband have had yum cha many times and have never been disappointed. Service is always fast, efficient. Never have a problem getting a table for two, May be different for larger groups, but that's the same at any Yum Cha. They offer a large variety and we have enjoyed everything we choose. Yes it's busy and bustling on a Sunday morning but to me that's half the appeal; the atmosphere. Great value for money, we always walk out full. I read another review complaining they handle teacups with their fingers...what else would they use? And do you really think most chefs use gloves when they prepare your food? This place is awesome, runs like a well oiled machine. Definately worth visiting!
Great food, usually fast service and mostly attentstive staff!
Went on Good Friday and there was a 10%surcharge for public holidays which is fair enough. The food was good, egg tarts and Chee Cheong fun was nice, so was the glutinous rice wrapped in lotus leaf. Easy and free parking is always a plus compared to the ones in northbridge.
Pretty good, if optimistic. The main dishes are too salty with too much MSG. Lack of rice flour roll dim sum at night too. But all the other dim sum was great, and not salty. Very well priced and efficient service. I'd definitely go back again for just the delicious and well priced all day dim sum!
Came on a Friday night, place was pretty quite. Food was quite nice and unlike the other dim sum places in Northbridge - when you ordered a specific dish it actually came out. Halfway through dinner we tried to order more food but the waiter we had stopped didn't speak English so we had to wait for an English speaking waiter to come pass. Place was pretty quiet, could hear the chef yelling which wasn't very nice but other than that good food, would return.

Tasty Chinese Treats in the suburbs. I cannot believe how pathetic and whiny some reviewers are. We eat here regularly and have always had a good experience. The food is hot, fresh, reasonably priced and you get served quickly. Be nice and smile and I'm sure you won't wait long. If your table is too near the door and you are cold politely ask to move ................ we have before with no problems. Seriously ............ what is wrong with people? Seems some folk go out for a meal with a very jaundiced attitude and want a champagne meal on a beer budget. Go somewhere else and leave the tables for people who enjoy Yum Cha.

We went now several times and it was always good better then your usual dim sum, you can taste the quality of the ingredients nothing over powered with herbs and spices , the food comes close to Tim Ho Wan place in kowloon hongkong , try pinaple buns for dessert

Yum Cha House is an excellent alternative to visiting Northbridge where free parking, a short walk, a shorter wait and smaller queues await. The range of dishes is quite large, maybe not as large as in Northbridge, but the quality is of a high standard and tastewise, you won’t be disappointed. I really loved the soft shell crab and BBQ roast pork in particular. Apart from the slightly overdone salt & pepper squid, there were few negatives. I was a little surprised to see one is charged for Chinese tea and there’s also a service charge included, but I had a really enjoyable time.

Yum Cha House is located on Collins Road in Willetton, the suburb I lived in during my high school years. I always have fond memories of the many Chinese restaurants in the area and the yummy food they offer. Unbeknownst to me, Yum Cha House popped up recently in the foodie corner that houses Taurus, Singapore Hawkers, Bamboo etc. Dimsum in the ‘burbs, surely it will be a hit! A hit it was, when I arrived one Sunday afternoon, there was a massive queue up front. We had to wait 20 – 30 mins for a table of four. Very popular indeed. The dimsum we had included: Sliced Pork and Century Egg Porridge / Fried Squi d / Crab Claw / Deep Fried Prawn Roll / Seaweed Roll / Beef Tripe / Prawn Dumpling / Chives Dumpling / Pork Dumpling The dimsum selection was of the usual kind, there was nothing new to try which was slightly disappointing for me. My favourite was the Sliced Pork and Century Egg Porridge – the serving was massive (enough to share a bowl each for 4) and was tasty. Selection of desse
been here a couple times with family, defs best with a big group of people so you can try lots of dishes!! everything was so delicious, the Yong tofu and all the prawn dumplings are my fave, I think this is becoming my favourite local dim sum ☺️ I would say the service can be lacking though eg when you're asking for extra bowls cutlery serviettes etc you have to go and get it yourself even though the staff say they will get it for you
Tired of waiting in line 30-45 mins for dim sum in most places in the city on the weekends. So i prefer to go Yum Cha House for my dim sum fix.
Reasons are:
- easy to access as it's just off Roe Hwy, no need to drive into city
- no waiting lines
- parking is plentiful and in front of restaurant
- prices is cheaper than most dim sum places
- and food quality is decent.
Been to Collins Rd few times and finally tried Yum Cha House. The food and price were alright. I should say the rice roll was so authentic. It's normally quite difficult to find yum cha restaurants that can make it very soft in texture. Great experience :D

We were glad they still serve dim sum for dinner, as they didnt have much to offer possibly just after the initial Covid lockdown. Seating with the cafe style cubicles in some sections is good for social distancing. Everything is clean.
At the entrance the waitress was a little stressed in asking how many we were before directing us to the QR code; a bit snappy which made me wonder what the rest of the evening was going to be like. We were later served by another girl and a more mature lady who were lovely. The stressed waitress' tone changed later so all made for a pleasant evening. When my son broke the teapot lid, they quickly swept up without much ado and the tea quickly refilled with new lid so he wasnt too embarrassed as to spoil his experience. Very thoughtful.
The food was so delightful that I forgot to snap pics till the end!!! The other pic was taken by my son so no close-up pics which is not my usual paparazzi style.
The best dish was the fishballs. They were huge AND made fresh. Oooohhh! You bite into them and there isn't the usual plasticky pop or msg-laden flavour. It's so fresh it melts in your mouth. Sorry, no pic. Burp! The beefballs are likewise made fresh but we didn't order that and will do!!
The chicken feet was tasty and we could have drunk the sauce! All the steamed dishes were so fresh, prawns generous portions and sizes.
Condiments were readily served without having to beg for them as customary in some restaurants. Waitress was intuitive when my son was too shy to ask for fork and spoon. Some places roll their eyes at this basic request and happily forget till he has semi-learnt how to use chopsticks! :)
This should be a 4.5 star with the half star due to small amount of msg added. Despite that, it wasn't overwhelming and I didn't leave thirsty though I have a slight headache this morning. It's great they were honest when I asked and really, I don't think they need to add any as the quality of the freshness in the dishes should carry the flavours through.
A most delightful experience! Will be baaaaccckkkk!!!!!
