Review Choks Pot - Williamstown

My wife and I really enjoyed our experience here on Sunday morning. We both had lattes and Eggs Benedict. The waitress was polite and attentive and the atmosphere pleasant with interestesting marine animal sculptures decorating the area.

My wife and I absolutely love this place. The owner is a proper chef and the cuisine reflects it. She is particularly gifted with seafood. One of my particular dishes is the Breakfast Cassoulet. A casual place to meet friends, dine well and enjoy an excellent coffee.

All through Covid they were open & happy to see you. Great coffee, friendly staff who always remember your coffee preference. Owner Payal (& family) are passionate & excel in customer service. Keep on keeping on - you are (all) wonderful!!!

Delicious food with excellent service. Great prices. Great coffee, as I drink long black, I can vouch for the beautiful aroma and strong deep taste. Soups are delicious specially in colder months, they warm and fill you right up. Casual, nice and quiet place where you can enjoy your meal and have a conversation with a friend. Simply great place! Always delivers

Where to even begin.. this was such a wonderful find.

📍 Located on Williamstown’s busy Ferguson Street – this is directly in the centre of Williamstown’s shopping strip. Plenty of parking options available without the stress or issue of metered parking.

🌟 One of the biggest standouts was the quality of the food. Everything just tasted so delicious and fresh, but also that element of a home cooked meal made by a loved one. The dishes were all the traditional breakfast favourites … but done extraordinarily well.

🍽Buttermilk Pancakes
💬The vessel that the syrup is served in was just such a beautiful touch. The pancakes were your traditional flavours but done well. Very warm and tasty! A nice foodie hug.

🍽Smashed Avocado
💬This dish was one of the stand outs in flavor. I have so many Smashed Avo’s, so it tends to be rare now that I am surprised when it comes to this traditional breakfast option. However, the flavours were just so fresh and the ingredients all worked so well. A reasonable price and a delicious dish!

🍽Mango Chia Pudding
💬Another dish that was presented absolutely beautifully. It comes in this small pot with a lid and looks bright and delicious. The mango flavours taste as vibrant as they look. The combination with the chia mixture is the perfect combination. The subtle flavours of the chia element balances the rest of the dish perfectly.

☕️The coffee art is also something very special about Chokspot. Every coffee that went out to customers seemed to have a different piece of art on it. I received an elephant on the top of my coffee. Pretty incredible stuff!

👥The staff were as lovely as they come. It may have been my first time visiting the café, however I left feeling as though I was a long loved regular. A team of great people who genuinely care about the food and service they are delivering to their customers.

💚Coffee Art That Belongs in an Art Gallery
💚Traditional Breakfast Dishes that Taste 11/10
💚Incredibly Welcoming Staff
💚Central Williamstown Location

Still great place to have brekkie. They have some wonderful fish dishes as well. The owners are soooo nice.............
Try the potato hash browns with poached eggs and Turkish sausages. My fav! Very popular on Saturday mornings.....so it can get a little cramped! Don't sit at the table next to toilet.........

Consistently great food, coffee and service. I often frequent Chok’s when I’m craving a healthy and hearty feed. They do interesting takes on classic breakfast dishes and make awesome salads and rolls. I recommend the pea and halloumi. Also check out the coffee art, looks and tastes great! I love a place that seems genuinely interested in their customers, this is one those places. The staff always have a smile on their face which adds the good vibe of this cafe, probably why I keep coming back.

Unfortunately I will not be returning. Not because the food is not up to standard it is in fact very nice.In a cafe with only 3 groups of customers my order was forgotten and eventually arrived over 30 minutes after ordering .Would have hoped that my coffee would have been complimentary due to the error. Not so.Charged full price for food and coffee even though I suggested the free coffee option. The business owner took my image on their ? Coffee Loyalty App of which I am not a member.Does this mean I get a free coffee if I were to return? No explanation by owner but it does mean I have return to receive my free coffee.A complimentary coffee would maybe have cost the business $1 in lost revenue.Very poor business practice and the reason that Choks Pot has lost any return business from myself or my family and friends.

Went for brunch! Awesome food and really good service. The owners were very approachable and good to talk to. Have to visit again to try some of the other dishes on offer

ChoksPot is a delightful cafe located in Ferguson Street Williamstown just down from the Town Hall. It is run by Dhiren and Payal. They create tasty and delicious meals for both breakfast and lunch and also cater for small functions. I would thoroughly recommend this cafe to all local residents who enjoy the wonderful, fresh, healthy and tasty food.

Food: Had a Fish Red Lentil soup with three hash brown. I didn't like the soup, it was sour and like a little bit off. But their food presentation is pretty nice, especially the coffee, like their coffee art.

Have been here just once for brunch but will definitely be back. I had the avocado with pomegranate and a poached egg on toast - delicious and abundant. Flavours work so well together. Coffee was hot and delicious and service was fast and friendly. What else could one ask for? I hear the seafood here is amazing. Definitely on my to do list! So nice to have a good restaurant in Williamstown.

In such a quiet and beautiful neighbourhood, is this wonderful little cafe called chokspot.

Having been here numerous times, it's boosts a great breakfast/brunch menu. However I have to admit one thing that's great at this joint, is the coffee. Being a coffee addict, this places large take cups are magnificent. The perfect (LARGE) size.

Anyway, one lazy morning I decided to get the big breakfast - minus the beans (being allergic). Everything was delicious part from the chutney (sauce).

I truly recommend the avocado and pomegranate toast. It's a match made in heaven.

Love eating here. It's a local favorite. Great food - compliments to the Chef Chok! The healthy and tasty dishes keep us coming back. Decent portion sizes. Gluten free options - watch out for the delish mushrooms! Great coffee and service from welcoming staff. Plenty of room out front for early morning cyclists. Try the breakfast menu - yum! Ride, walk, or drive down and give it a go.... you'll be surprised.

I have to admit I was a little skeptical coming here, but it was super yum! My dad's favourite place here in Williamstown, everything we had at the table looked (and from what I tried, tasted) great. Also, the coffee was enjoyable. Would definitely come back. Outside seating in the shade was nice.

The all day breakfast at Choks Pot Williamstown is what I keep reccomending to all my friends and family. The coffee art (and coffee) is beautiful and sets the cafe apart from all the other cafes - especially when they take the time to do coffee art for their customers. You cant help but notice most customers with their phones out taking quick pictures of their meals and coffee.
FOOD TRIP
Choks Pot is a cute little café in Williamstown that I would definitely recommend checking out. Didn’t expect much from this place to be honest, but the food was delicious and the coffee artwork was some of the best I’ve seen. Friendly service and decent prices, would come back!. Body Purifier $6.50 with Green Apple, Spinach, Kale, Celery and Mint

Came here last weekend with my partner for lunch, ordered the seafood marinara and to be honest it was one of the best i have had..and i have tried many over the years!
The restaurant has a nice laid back feel with outdoor seating which would be great in the summer. Coffee was ok though have had better-would definitely be back for the seafood!
Came here today for breaky. Sat outside with the puppy and unfortunately the heater was out of gas. The staff were lovely and really accomodating-sent an employee down to get more gas twice as the first one they got was empty.

We both got the crispy bacon and potato baked eggs (delicious) and saw others get the big breakfast which looked amazing! Will be ordering that next time!

The coffees were yummy with cute artwork on top which definitely brought smiles to our faces!

Great experience :)

Got to be one of the best value brekky's in Willy. Service is great, food is tasty and the serving size is almost too big. Personal fav is the smashed avocado with pomegranate while the big brekky is fabulous - and big!

Must go back to sample more of the menu.. Since the start of 2015 I've been meaning to try Choks Pot. Well, it's almost halfway through February and I finally got around to it: I was not disappointed. But I can't tell you much because my wife and I only had one item from the menu: the shared Seafood Marinara (as I write this there is a picture like it in the menu section).
Two huge prawns, six mussels, and a superbly prepared mix with just the right blend of heat in the spices to make it interesting without overpowering the seafood flavours. For us: not too much, not too little.
But that was it. The day was hot and humid; we went off to the library; and a little later we ended up buying some fresh strawberries to eat at home. We didn't linger; maybe it was because Choks Pot doesn't have a liquor licence yet; and although the sweet pastries cabinet is one of the best in Williamstown we just didn't feel the need to have dessert and coffee to follow up our main course.
Cost? $35 for the double serve; a single serve will set you back $20. Most main courses start from just below $20 through to the mid $30s; entrée sizes will set you back about $9 to $12 or a little more.
This may seem expensive: but it is similar to the prices we paid at Claypots Evening Star at the South Melbourne Market about a month before; and I would regard the food there as excellent, also.
So I'll save my pennies and look forward to trying the curry or the Cajun; my wife wants to return for the Barramundi or the Cassoulet; someone else will have to review the lamb and BLT because I'll be working my way through the seafood menu.
They are open for breakfast, and you can call by just for a coffee. If you're thinking of coming to Williamstown put Choks Pot high on your list of eating places; there is two hour parking in the large car park behind the town hall.
