Went for breakfast on Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Coffee was fantastic and the staff were friendly and attentive. Everything you want with your breakfast and more.
Wow! Wagyu Corned Beef with bubble & squeak, egg & mustard sauce. The Brussel Sprout skins were the icing on the cake of this delicious dish!! Along with the great coffee I can highly recommend this place!! ☕️

Some people just can't be satisfied, myself and a couple of friends tried this place on the weekend for lunch and all agree the food was incredible especially for the price and the service was fast and friendly. Three very happy customers already looking forward to returning.

I think this place is new in Williamstown, stopped in today for coffee and lunch while on a bike ride. Coffee was great and so was the lamb wrap with chips that I had. Beautiful good. Good service and presented well. Will be back.
Walked past Carter Smith Devlin & Co on a Sunday morning stroll through Willi and decided to stop for brunch after inspecting the menu outside.
Was greeted by a young man who let me sit anywhere I liked. It was fairly busy but was able to get a seat at the window. I ordered a skinny latte which was okay but I couldn't taste much coffee as it was very milky. I then ordered the ricotta hotcakes, which only took about ten-fifteen minutes to arrive. It was quite yummy and very filling as they were light and fluffy. I feel like there could have been just a little bit more sauce though as they were a tad dry.
Service was friendly and fast, but overall it was a fairly average experience.
Great coffee, great service and great food. I appreciated the staffs flexibility on changing my order due to dietary requirements even though I am quite picky

Williamstown is a great beach-side spot to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life, and the best part is that it's only 15 minutes drive away. There's an abundance of cafes and restaurants to keep even the fussiest eater satisfied, and we managed to locate quite a gem in the form of Carter Smith Devlin & Co. The painted white bricked walls were rustic and created an illusion of space and warmth. The fireplace was a nice touch and added to the rustic touch.
We were warmly greeted when we walked in. Orders were taken quickly and we sat back and relax. Relax, we did. There were 3 other occupied tables and we had the unfortunate luck of arriving after their orders were put through. Coffee arrived quickly but we waited a good 30 minutes for our food to arrive. Bored and hungry from waiting, we dug in quickly. What a pleasant surprise then when we bit into our toasts. This was a perfect example of how toasts should be done. The bread was lightly toasted and generously buttered all over resulting in a beautiful crispy crust and outer layer of the bread, while retaining an overall softness and fluffiness. Usually we don't finish our toasts but this time around we couldn't resist them at all.
I was craving for something hot and hearty that day and that's how I ended up ordering the shakshuka. Brilliant call on my part as it went beautifully with the toasts. The slightly sweet and tangy tomato sauce, the runny yolk, and the earthiness and smokiness of the beans - yum! My partner ordered the big breakfast and it was enormous! Very generous portion size and we couldn't fault the flavours. It was a simple dish that was executed well, and was a pleasure to eat as a result.
Our skinny latte was quite average - the only letdown of the meal (other than the long wait for food). It was slightly lacking in strength and body, but was reasonably decent in terms of temperature and milkiness. Still, it didn't really detract from the whole experience.
This used to be call Hobson's Choice. Was my old stomping ground growing up. I also used to work there. Now that it has changed hands I love what they have done with the place. Massive upgrade! The food is delicious. Only negative is the staff couldn't handle the busy load the day I went. Had to wait to ask for a menu for a little too long for my liking. However, overall enjoyable experience.
Best coffee in Williamstown! Nice staff and great food. This is what we need more of in Williamstown! Slow cooked lamb wrap is 5 star! Well worth a visit.
Have been at half a dozen times since it has been under new management, the food has always been good and the coffee has been great, have seen a couple of negative comments that I can't understand. New management is not as presumptous as the previous management coffee good and now comes in larger sizes, food great. Get over it whingers

I went here for breakfast with friends after a friend recommended it. I felt strange when I read the menu as I didn't really understand what anything was or how it would taste. I was scared of the sound of duck eggs or butternut squash and didn't know how I would be with ordering trout for breakfast but we all ordered and everything was amazing! Like really amazing. The duck egg omelette was delicious, great flavour and it was quite filling. In fact everyone loved what they had and I would definitely go again and be open to trying more interesting things! The reason I didn't rate it a 4 or 5 though was service, could have been better
I'm not usually compelled to write good reviews, but as a Williamstown resident I am SO glad for this cafe. The food is seriously excellent, and compared to the price/quality dynamic in the rest of Willy it's actually a bargain. The eggs benedict with hash browns is something I actually think about when I'm not there! The steamed asparagus dish sounded bland but I felt like eating more vegetables and to my amazement it's actually one of the most delicious meals I've ever had. This place honestly has the BEST breakfast in Melbourne, combined with funky decor and a great view, it's my number one fave. Also the staff are really friendly and remember their repeat customers. It's just great to have somewhere for locals, rather than just the touristy cash grab on the other side of Nelson place. Thanks!!
About time Williamstown had a decent cafe on the esplanade. It's been a good move by the owners to get Chef Darren on board since he would probably be one of the best cafe chefs in Melbourne. Food is excellent although a tad rich (but thats Darrens french cookery roots showing through). Coffee is excellent although a tad slow to come out, even at the quietest of times. Service is very pleasant and friendly. Owners happy to have a chat. I do however have to agree with post below from Azza. The toilets are absolutely disgusting and runs dangerously close to ruining the experience. Pretty good place albeit a tad expensive.
What a great find. Eggs Benedict on top of amazing hash browns (thick pieces, golden crispy on the outside) and mushroom duck egg omelette with such a generous splash of truffle oil and zingy broad beans to balance out the richness.
The rest of the menu looked good too - very well thought out!
Service was friendly, drinks came within 10 minutes of ordering and food came very shortly after. I also enjoyed how cute the seating area was outside.
Incredible breakfast, duck egg omellete with tallegio and truffle oil! Absolutely loved it. They were busy and a film crew was filming outside, but the service was excellent and the meals were out very quickly. Easily my favourite breakfast place in Williamstown.
The best, and I mean THE BEST breakfast I have EVER had the pleasure of eating. Baked eggs mushroom special. They need to make this a regular dish. Last week I had the eggs benny. Delicious and the homemade hashbrowns were seasoned perfectly. Amazing coffee also. I'm quite fussy so I was also shocked at how blown away I was.

They have amazingly refreshing ice chocolates which are great for a warm day. They have candied oranges with pure ground cocoa with milk and ice. Tatstes absolutely devine! We will back to try the meals :) the blueberry muffin was tasty and fresh!

This cafe is nothing short of brilliant. The cosiness of the furniture with the warehouse looking walls and floors compliment each other perfectly. The food: absolutely brilliant. Fresh and full of flavour, I had the octopus with salad. The octopus was perfectly charred and sat on a mountain bed of sweet cherry tomatoes, basil, red onions and bread bits all soaked in the vinegarette. The hash browns I hear is the most popular dish and as I saw, it ticks all the boxes for a typical brunch meal. Plentiful portion of hash, two poached eggs, ham and hollandaise dressing on top. This cafe is relaxed, very open and has nothing to hide. Accompany it with a walk along the pier and it is well worth the trip from wherever you are travelling.

Gorgeous little minimalist cafe with ample seating inside and out. Cosy fireplace inside too. Serving sensory lab coffee, they do a brilliant job with their coffees. Will be returning during the week to try breakfast. Definitely a cafe that willi needs!

Approached this place with some hesitation given the mixed reviews.
We were seated quickly (and by the fire bonus!!) and orders taken promptly.
I had the house pickled waygu girello on a bubble and squeak cake with a perfectly cooked egg on top and delicious sauce. My tea came to the table already brewed. My companion had the signature pear and ginger tonic, divine if you are a ginger fan.
While on the more expensive side of Willitown offerings the quality of food is really high and worth the higher price. Seems management have taken previous negative reviews seriously as service and good were really good.
