Review Santorini Restaurant - Williamstown

Went there for a friend's birthday. We ordered before 7pm and we get the meat plater around 8pm no wonder the waitress suggested entree.. But by the time the platter came, the grilled meat are dry and cold. Only the ribs is hot.. Calamari was well cooked, but zucchini fritter was lack of taste. The dips are good as how they should be, except the hommus, it was alittle different from what I expected. The best of all the dished was the hot chicken pie. Nothing out of this world, it was creamy and simply fresh from the oven. We all agreed, we will not come back

We chose Santorini Resturant to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary this week. As usual, we really enjoyed our delicious meal. We had the zucchini fritters as an entrè, and the gyros share platter. Both delightful! The waitresses are just lovely and super accommodating. Thx for a lovely evening! Returning soon with friends!

Further to my older dine-in review below it's worth noting that this restaurant does delivery very well. I ordered directly from the website. Secure card payment. Delivery was free for my order. Food took about 45 minutes, was fresh, hot, and wonderful. Will definitely do it again. We dropped in for an early dinner on a Thursday night. No booking. Three kids, including one in a high chair. For some restaurants, we're a bit of an acid test. This place passed with flying colours. Friendly and polite staff made us feel welcome--great with the kids. Quick service. Excellent food. Lamb and chicken off the spit were excellent: well-seasoned and cooked to perfection. Salad could've shone a bit brighter, but it wasn't bad, and no-one expects the salad to take center place on a plate of spit-roasted meat. Pita bread was fresh, soft, and perfectly toasted. If the beers were $2 cheaper a pop, I'd've had two, so it's probably better for me that they weren't. My wife had fruit juice, and seemed happy with the choice. The kids' menu chicken nuggets were real chicken--probably made in-house--and I think they've ruined our older two for the everyday processed stuff (not a bad thing!). The chips received a thumbs-up from our two resident chip experts as well. Desserts were wonderful, but I love both baklava and Turkish delight, so I'm biased. The berry pastry from the specials menu was wonderful. All-in-all a great experience. We'll be back.

Lovely place for a meal. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, great food! Has seating inside and out so you can enjoy a balmy evening out in the garden. A stone's throw from the water and park so you can go for a stroll after the meal. Highly recommended!

A lovely restaurant serving some delicious traditional Greek cuisine. Inside the atmosphere is casual and relaxed. Decor wise things are simple and have been kept to a minimum to allow the historical building to keep it's identity. There is actually very little decoration to indicate it is a Greek restaurant which may be good or bad for some people. For myself, it is a good change not having the customary blue and white painted walls decorated with photos of ancient Greek landmarks. Seating is plentiful and there is also some outdoor dining available. Prices are excellent compared to other restaurants, especially for the buffet which also includes dessert if you can fit it in. The staff are also very helpful and friendly. The place gets very busy for dinner around 6:30pm so bookings are a must.

Wondering if this restaurant has changed hands when it moved? Quality of food is no where near what it used to be. Disappointed

Best Greek food I have ever had! Brilliant food, great portion sizes and great prices, beautiful restaurant, lovely set up! Staff are absolutely lovely too and so helpful! Lots of gluten free options! Great wine list too. Definitely will be back, cannot stop thinking about it!!! Thanks to all the lovely staff!

We attended Santorini for dinner on Saturday night (6 adults & 3 children). We were seated upstairs, where it was very specious and had a lovely view of the city. The service throughout the whole premises was fantastic, and couldnt be faulted. However we were a little disappointed with the food. The meat platter for 2, was more like a meat platter for 1.5. There were 2 grown men sharing the platter, and both of them love Greek food and meat. For $68, I would have expected more meat. Although most of the meat was tasty, however the gyros meat was a little dry. All our other meals were ok, but nothing that made us want to return in a hurry. Might be a good idea for you guys to either adjust your portion size, or adjust pricing to reflect current portion size standards.

Hands up the worst greek food in melb!!! As i explained to mgt, the food was that overcooked it tasted recycled!!! We ordered a seafood platter for 3 yet there were 2 prawns and 4 oysters and octopus i could have boiled to make softer. The meat platter for 3 had gyros for one and dried up pork rib etc etc i could go on but not worth it. The main wine of the menu ran out and again etc etc. The manager reduced our food bill and was very accepting of my feedback on behalf of 7 people but it still makes a horrible dining experience. For such a beautiful venue and location it is a real pity this occurs as last time we were there it was a similar experience.

Table of four one child wait staff were attentive and courteous understood the menu offerings we ordered a seafood platter for 2 .....my only complaint was no chips on the platter ....might be a Greek thing .....and only one peice of fish and one skewer of 3 scallops for 2 should have been 2 skewers of scallops and 2 pieces of fish ......but atmosphere was great staff are well trained watch this space .....servings were larger with previous owners �

The food and staff were exellent. We had the banquet which had a wonderful array of greek fare. The calamari was sensational with the prawns a close second. Everything else served was tasty and nothing was left on the platter. The staff were very attentive but not annoying. We were never waiting for drinks, they were happy and friendly. The restaurant was probably half full, but I'd say even on a busy night they would do their best to maintain these standards. I would or should I say will go back......and I'd recommend Santorini to anyone looking for an enjoyable experience in Williamstown.

Santorini is a restaurant serving really nice Greek style food. On this occasion we were celebrating Mother's Day and had a set menu - mixed share platter of dips, grilled vegetables, olives, etc, then had a choice of mains and mixed platter of traditional Greek deserts. Lovely.

I booked our NY eve reservation mid Dec prior to any menu set or confirmed as we were going away and didn’t want to miss out. The NY set menu allowed us to try dishes that we wouldn’t normally select and we were pleasantly surprised and waitress was so friendly and accommodating ... I have and would highly recommend others to make sure Santorini is a place they include on their to-do dine list for 2018!!!! Great Food - Great Service G&M

First time here. Lovely place. We got the Family feast for 4 people 18 dishes to share for 2 or more people. When your doing something like that you need to ensure that there is enough food on the meat dish for 4 people. Dessert dish what a disappointment one little dessert each who likes Turkish delight yuck more donuts please. Staff were lovely too!!

Fantastic service and delicious food. Ordered the feast for 6 people and was just the right amount of food didn’t even eat dinner that night because of how full I was. The only down side I felt that the baklava was a bit too dry not enough syrup. Definitely coming back

Today Kim and I had lunch at Santorinis and it was fantastic. The staff were friendly, the atmosphere was lovely, the food was delicious and the service was great. I would highly recommend it. We'll definitely be back.

Loved our lunch for 8 at Santorini. The menu was extensive, the food amazing and well presented, the service excellent and the ambiance attractive and comfortable. Certainly recommend.
