Had breakfast there a while ago. Loved the atmosphere and food! The setting and location is very nice! Coffee was done really well! Just wish it wasn't so overpriced. Can understand the price range if the portion sizes were bigger. If it was priced lower would be a regular however just save this for special occasions.

This has been one of the best dining experiences I have had. Beautiful and luxurious scenery accompanied with the most pleasant service and attendees. I had made a booking for my family for a Sunday brunch and the whole process was so easy and no fuss.
Arriving at the restaurant and was warmly greeted by staff. We all ordered the big breakfast and it was delicious. From the perfectly poached eggs to the smooth aromatic coffees.
I really admire the attention to detail the restaurant owners have put into their establishment. Details such as the excellent light settings down to The Cole and mason salt pepper mills.
I wish I had taken a better photo of our food but the excitement the scenery created had me taking the quickest of snaps.

Will definitely be back to try more breakfast dishes and will make a note to come in the evenings to experience the divine dinner service and food.

New Restaurant in Williamstown and Already The Best in the Area! 💯💯

📍 Located on Williamstown’s Nelson Place and just a short walk from Williamstown Train Station. There is plenty of free parking out front.

💲 The prices are more than most of the restaurants on Nelson Place. However, I would rate this as one of the absolute best restaurants in Williamstown. It is EASILY THE BEST RESTAURANT ON NELSON PLACE. The prices are 100% worth it. The ingredients, the dishes - are fantastic and completely worth the prices.

👥 Staff are fantastic. Friendly, professional and very down to earth. Fantastic dining experience!

🍽 Grass Fed Eye Fillet 200g, potato gratin, asparagus, green peppercorns, truffle oil and red wine jus. (GF) - $37
>>> W-O-W! The flavours in this dish work so well together. It’s such a mouth watering dish, that really will have you more than satisfied!
🍽 Rich Lamb Shank Ragu w/ house gnocchi, truffle oil, shaved parmigiano-reggiano and a gremolata crumb. - $28
>>> The gnocchi and flavours in this dish were incredible! Best gnocchi I’ve had in a very long time.
🍽 Flourless Orange and Almond Cake w/ blood orange coulis, lemon vanilla marscapone and almond crumb. (GF) - $14
>>> Delicious and light dish. The added flavours worked really well.

💚 Fantastic Flavours
💚 Outstanding Food
💚 Beautiful Interior

If you’re dining in Williamstown, I could not recommend this restaurant more. The dishes were all outstanding. I’m so so glad that finally there is a fantastic restaurant down on Nelson Place. Cannot wait to return and taste more of the menu!

Away from the bustle of the row of restaurants in Williamstown, but not too far. Special Sunday lunch of $40 for two courses. Excellent value for such quality food. All our dishes pictured were a high quality. Especially liked the pan fried barramundi with a white mussel sauce. Seating inside and outside. Too hot for outside but the ambience inside was great. Arrived late but they served us after the official 3 pm close.

Amazing attentive service at average prices, loved the service and atomshere, dark lighting to set the calming mood and whisper quiet to hear yourself. The food is amazing for the price, and cocktails cheap and yummy! They even provided candles with our BYO cake without asking 👍🎉🎂

Best meal, service combo in a long time. The staff were attentive and able to help with recommendations. Service was timed well and wine choice was perfect. This restaurant is perfect for a celebratory meal or casual dining, steaks are great. My husband reckons their chips are “the best I’ve had in ages” We will definitely be back. The alcohol free drink selection was good too

We were invited into Porters Williamstown to experience their delicious menu for lunch. Upon arrival we were greeted by the welcoming front of house and were kindly shown to our table. The interior of the restaurtant is warm, cosy and inviting. We choose a glass of wine each. The 2017 Mornington Circe Pinot noir and the 2017 Mornington Miceli Olivias Chardonnay. Both wines were light and lovely to drink. For our Entrée we had the Taleggio and Jerusalem artichoke galette and the Torched Hiramasa kingfish crudo. The galette was a very enjoyable dish and had nice smooth flavours. The kingfish was silky and had beautiful flavours. Our Mains were the Tasmanian salmon fillet and the Grilled Lamb Rump. The salmon fillet had wonderful flavours. We loved the tortellini, so delicious! The Lamb rump smelt amazing, it was a beautifully tender lamb and had lovely flavours. After enjoying such delicious entrées and mains we were looking forward to trying the desserts. The desserts were chosen for us and they were both perfect choices. The Greek yoghurt Panna cotta and the Beetroot Chocolate Brownie. The Panna cotta was beautifully plated and had delicate flavours. The brownie was absolutely delicious!! We found it to be a comfortable dining environment. The seating is nicely spread out and there was easy listening back ground music. The service was prompt and the staff were happy and friendly. A lovely dining experience. All dishes were beautifully presented. We would definitely visit again. We thank Porters Williamstown for a lovely Sunday lunch. All of our opinions are genuine and are based on our experience at the time of our visit.

We started going to Porters before Covid for Breakfast as we found it a nice quiet place to take our then German Shepherd Pup and one of the Waitresses seem to be very taken with our dug and used to bring her a small plate of Ham so we could not help but go back until Covid started. More recently we have been going for Dinner and have to say it's arguably the best Restaurant in Williamstown in our experience. Last night we had a even better service then normal with the staff on last night where simply amazing particularly the Sommelier who knowledge and personality was amazing but we also watched him training a new member of staff and was very impressed. The food not cheap for a local restaurant but the quality is most certainly worth it.

Porters is an amazing venue with a lovely interior, genuine friendly knowledgeable staff and great food and drink. We came on the Labour Day long weekend Sunday and enjoyed a three course meal and cocktails. The cocktails were exceptionally made and made especially the Perfect Gin Tonic which lived up to its name. We had been wanting to try the Pampella as an alternative the Aperol so enjoyed the spritz there also. Entrees came out and we went with two of the many seafood options. The salt and pepper calamari was certainly well seasoned and tasty while the garlic and oregano prawns came in a wonderfully complex red sauce that would have been perfect in pasta but equally so on a bed of zucchini ribbons. Ordering mains was easy for me as my mother (isolating in NZ) had posted images of their slow cooked lamb roast they were enjoying making me crave lamb. The slow cooked lamb option on the menu is one you should definitely consider... best lamb I’ve had out in a couple of years. It sat on an ancient grain salad with a hazelnut dukkah, and pomegranates a plenty. KD enjoyed her crispy skinned barramundi also and they did a wonderful job with the polenta, an ingredient I’ve often found to be quite bland. For desserts we enjoyed the dark chocolate almond mousse, which was more cheesecake in its consistency and topped with a black Forrest medley of fruits and jellies. The lemon tart had an incredibly fine pastry and alternating popping a of authentic lemon curd and cream, all covered with torched meringue shards... both excellent ways to end a meal.

From the moment I walked in I knew that this was going to be a special experience. The service was welcoming and friendly. This is a casual fine dining experience in a large restaurant with polished concrete floors, nice lighting and really comfortable seating. For drinks I ordered a tahilk cabernet sauvignon and my partner ordered a pinot noir from Richmond in Southern Tasmania. Both wines were perfect, and there was an extensive cocktail list to match. For entrees I had Garlic and Oregano prawns, w zuccini, feta and pineapple salsa. The prawns were thick and juicy and everything tasted so fresh. It was absolutely delicious. My partners dish was beetroot cured salmon w pickles, avocado cream and rye crisps. The salmon just melted in my mouth, the flavours were so delicate. For mains I had cripsy duck breast w confit potato, pomegranate gel and charred broccollini. The duck was perfectly cooked, w a crispy skin, and pink in the middle. The gel was tasty and the broccollini crunchy and good texture. My partner main was homemade ricotta gnocci, w romesco, kale, almonds and pepita pesto. For dessert we shared some lemon meringue pie which was slightly sweet w a good citrus flavour. Then it was time for some chocolate mousse which was rich and flavoursome, and balanced with some seasonal fruit. Overall this was an amazing experience and this place is a must visit.
