Review Platform 177 - Williamstown

The place was clean but just ordered a simple ham and cheese toastie for take away. Got to the car and saw it was lathered in butter. I’m all for toasting the outside for extra flavour but that’s at least a quarter tub. Maybe just check with customers if this is okay before doing it without their awareness. It would be one star, but I did like the fact of 10% off for paying cash

Pam and I have been regular customers for coffee and snacks at platform 177 now Elephant since it opened in 2015 because of the quality of the coffee and breakfast and truly friendly service. Because of a recent busy morning we were there at lunchtime and I ordered what was to be the best calamari salad I have had at any time anywhere (our friends will tell you we’ve been to a lot of places and eaten out at some pretty fancy cafes and restaurants )The squid was tender ,flavoursome and plentiful and the salad luscious there was only one leaf in the salad that I asked our lovely waitress Ash to identify and it was the only thing left on my plate! If it was important to achieve the flavour of the whole salad I’d leave it in otherwise forget it ! Thanks for “making our day every day”

My family and i only had a sit down coffee's oh and a babychinno outside, but the staff were quick to come outside take our order and bring out our coffee's along with the babychinno. As for the coffee's I found mine to be real nice and I didn't have no complaints from the other or my son. 👍

Have been unhappy with one of the supposed barista’s, have raised with Christian the owner. Why would I spend money for subpar coffee, weekday staff great. Have been bringing my custom for over 2 year, daily. His response……hard to get good staff. Then train them! Go in today and obviously weekend ‘manager’ not happy with my feedback. I ask a different ‘barista’ to make the coffee and get….’no, I’m not doing that, that’s rude’ and refuses service. Then goes out for a cigarette!! Ring Christian, no call back. Taking business elsewhere after supporting twice daily during Covid! Poor management and ownership! Poor example for young workers!

Great coffee! Nice, clean and liked the brekkie menu

Only tried their coffee. Excellent! It's almost chocolatey. I probably would order with extra shot next time. They have quite a bit of seatings inside and a row of seats outside.

Ordered the Smashed Avocado. Great serving size, full of flavours and goes down well. I especially recommend this meal if you enjoy cumin seeds! Would order again. My total rating of the meal is 7.2 out of 10! Overall, polite staff, common pricing and meals come out at a reasonable time :)

Was excited to find this on #mummaknowswest as it has a little kids nook for playing that looked great for keeping our toddler occupied so we could eat a whole breakfast. It seems a little odd however, that a place intending on being kid friendly would not have a change table and it was awful having to change my son on the bathroom floor . Also the table we were given was a table for two, even though my son will no longer sit in a high chair so we were quite pressed for space, so we had to move some of the unnecessary clutter from the table... which seemed to upset one of the passive aggressive waitresses who kept coming back and putting them back on our table. There was simply no room. The food was good but not worth the rest of the hassles so won’t be back.

Dropped off the kids to warm up before their footy match and we thought we’d get some better food than at the club canteen at this cafe up the road. We ordered the brekky sliders and coffee on a busy Saturday morning. Though the place was full of staff we waited a long time for the coffee, which was only warm and not great tasting. Our sliders had been cooked in egg rings to make them round and fit nicely in the little brioche bun. They were so over cooked that they tasted rubbery. There was so much mayo and bbq sauce that it was heard to eat. The bacon was ok. I couldn’t finish mine. We would have said something but were in a hurry to watch the kids start their footy match. The footy canteen food looked better and would’ve been a lot cheaper.

What a fantastic place! The food was delish - great menu guys. Coffee was one of the best I've had and staff were very friendly and attentive. Great vibe ☕ ️Definitely one of the first places to visit when I'm back!

I'm fussy with my coffee. I was pleasantly surprised. Friendly staff. My kids enjoyed their kids brekkie meal also.

Awesome. Love this place, great service, excellent coffee and tasty food 👌🏻.

We previously had good food at this place. We went back on Sunday and the overall experience was a disaster. We waited over an hour for smashed avo and muesli. When the food finally arrived, the rocket was limp and the avo lacked flavour. Service was slow to say the least. Won't be returning.

What a lovely little nook to discover in quaint Williamstown. Very inviting, warm friendly service and the pitas are a delicacy. The best I've ever had and coming from a greek background my sampling has been wide and varied. I was given a Greek sweet (γαλακτομπούρεκο) also and that was scrumptious. Thank you Well done to the owner for wonderful surroundings and quality food...a testament of his good taste & hard work. You will be seeing a lot more of my friends and myself

Variable service but good coffee. the kids play area is a great distraction. Serving sizes are very small on some items (e.g. pancakes) - so order carefully if you're hungry

Went Monday this week. Coffee and warmed brownie very nice. Great service but front door open and freezing.

Dropped in on a Sunday morn - busy little place with good use of space to sit and plenty taking coffee to go
Lots of bikes, pedestrian traffic - good that it’s out of the main Willy drag with plenty of residential around. Had the eggs benny - Will definitely return.

I snuck in a coffee and a croissant on the way to work this morning, it was delicious. The croissant would have been sourced from a bakery but it was prepared well. Very quiet atmosphere and polite service. I sat in a back room which o could tell would be perfect for people with young children. The coffee was great too.

Random lunch on a lovely sunny day at the beach. Platform 177 was the perfect place to chill and take a lunch break. We ordered burger and fries, egg slider and coffee. Straight of the bat the coffee was amazing and I knew this will be a good experience. I wasn’t disappointed with the mains. Probably one of the perfect, juicy, tender and yet crispy burger I tried for a while. It can’t fault it. Slider was nice and succulent too. It was a very pleasant lunch and will go back for coffee and the burger. Well done!!

This is the best cafe in Williamstown! I have been going to this cafe regularly for several months and am never disappointed in the service or the food! My favourite is the eggs benedict, it's amazing and the coffee is the best! Would highly recommend this cafe! The place also has amazing vibes, feels like I'm in Greece!

This is a local favourite for us. They’ve just reopened after a recent renovation, and if it was good before then it’s amazing now. We had the best lattes we’ve had in Williamstown in a long time. For brekky my partner had the platform Benedict and I had the smashed avo with haloumi. Highly recommend both dishes. Also the best customer service, we’ll be back.

Cool place to hang out ....

Another great migrant story; family & food = cafe.

Busy corner block on the roundabout, parking was easy, bright, big glass windows, indoor & outdoor seating area and quite cozy.

Latte was about average Melbourne, competition abound, might want to get cracking; Melba coffee beans and La Marzocco combo.

Will try their Menu next time. Good coffee and friendly staff. That's where it ended for me unfortunately. Went for a late breakfast and it was pretty dire. The cafe was not busy at all and we waited for half hour once we ordered (Two meals). The people next to us who were there before us still didn't have theirs until after us. BLT had no butter or aioli or anything literally just bacon, lettuce and tomato no seasoning or anything. It was dry and bland. The haloumi roll was slightly more tasty but uncooked spinach and again no butter and just underwhelming. Also the whole time we were waiting a waitress came in literally every twenty seconds to clear our coffee that we were still drinking it was a bit annoying. We gave them honest feedback when they asked how everything was and they said they would tell the chef. This place is walking distance from my house and I will go back for a take away coffee but not for food.

Lovely cafe with a great warm feeling. I was met at the door with a happy smile from welcoming staff. I was told to sit anywhere which was ok as I needed a table near a power point for my laptop. Sequence of service was good as I was given water and presented with the menu.
I had the avocado bruschetta and I asked for a side of scrambled eggs. I think the presentation was ok although I felt the eggs thrown over the dish took away the bruschetta effect. It tasted great although I couldn't finish all the egg ( massive serve)
I had freshly squeezed juice which was lovely and the tea was served with all the correct and clean equipment. I will be back for sure.

Love my local!!!

Lovely simple food, no fuss! Tastes great, clean and easy to eat! Coffee is always AMAZING! Keep coming back because I know it's consistent!

Great little loyalty program and so much for the little ones to enjoy!!

Love it!!

Great family cafe with an area specifically dedicated to Children. Fit out is fresh, bright and modern. Menu contains all of the usual suspects. Pumpkin smash was tasty, however there wasn't a great deal of pumpkin on it. It was spread thinly across the bread, but given the dish is called a pumpkin smash I would expect to see much more of it.

Very good value, service always attentive, kid friendly. Have often had the Greek pastries which are delicious. A great place to catch up with friends for coffee and lunch

Just a modest cafe down the end of Ferguson St, there's nowhere to park so often people won't even stumble across this place. Within walking distance, we decided to give it a shot for lunch. It's handy for parents as the cafe is segmented into three parts including one kids section where they can colour and play around.

The menu is relatively basic, so we tempered our expectations. Chicken focaccia was freshly made for us and the garlic aioli was very tasty, and although the carrot cake was a tad dry (the only negative with it, really!), willing to forgive considering we ate just over an hour before they were due to shut.

Cool interior, nice ladies running it & extremely cheap. Definitely not the worst place in town!

Left a little disappointed... Coffee is terrible! Sorry guys and the food left us wanting more. The smashed Av tasted like it had honey or something weird on it... It's a great spot for the kids to play with their own little corner but the food and coffee offerings unfortunately won't have us coming back...

We were in Williamstown and found this gem of a place. the food and coffee were excellent with a special shout out for the eggs Benedict. GOOD WORK!

Cafe looks lovely however the food is very basic and our simple coffee orders have been stuffed up every time we have visited. Very disappointed in what could be a great breakfast/brunch spot

Having lived and worked in Williamstown it's good to see a boutique cafe that ticks all the boxes from great food great coffee and also to have been greeted at the door by the owner himself was refreshing love this place

A favourite of ours in the local area. Great coffee, friendly staff and excellent, well prepared food. Never had a bad experience here. It's pretty consistent.

This place is making progress. The service when they first opened was terrible but improving over time. The menu is pretty standard. Coffee is average but i don't mean a bad average. Its fine just not fantastic. Parking is sometimes difficult given its location so if you have kids it can prove to be a bit of a task. I'll probably go back since they are getting there.

I have been here quite a few times now and I love the atmosphere! Staff are friendly and attentive. Food is delicious and coffee is one of the best in the area.
