Upon entering we were given a choice of tables, service was top notch and our food was absolutely amazing, fine dining at it's best and every mouthful was absolutely divine. We had calamari for entree and I had mussels for dinner whilst my mum had barramundi. Very extensive wine list too.

Returning because the offerings were memorable from a previous visit. The eyes were too big for the stomach, visualising tempting dishes from the entree, main course and dessert. Lucky the brain's in control and only ordered the first two.
The squid ink dumplings with calamari was exquisite; we would've loved it as a main course. Such flavours and textures took our tastebuds into instant happiness. The stew was packed with flavours from the various sea creatures, polenta and had a light soup. My friend's pork and sauerkraut was scrumptious, tender and comforting on a chilly winter's day. The generous servings meant there would be no room for dessert but the plum dumplings with sour cherry were really intriguing.
While classically decorated, this place lacked atmosphere, maybe because most of the tables were unfilled. Service was friendly and attentive, maybe because of the presence of my gorgeous friend, but I do remember they were pretty good previously. The waterside location makes it an ideal spot to start a romantic night.
The food was on point - the pašteta took me back to my childhood. Had a beautiful istrian wine. Wonderful attentive service, really special night.
Delicious dinner last night. Full size servings are generous. Only complaint had nothing to do with the restaurant but sons and their father with eyes bigger than stomach as saying goes. Ordered and shared full size servings of starters. They then struggled to finish their main course. Mum a bit smarter enjoyed some of the starters, had starter size scampi risotto (delicious) and had room for dessert- Plum dumplings - beautiful presentation and yum!! Service excellent attentive but not intrusive.
Visited Williamstown in a day trip in the ferry from Southbank on a beautiful sunny Winters day. Searched Zomato for the top restaurant in the area. Ragusa came up. Waitstaff were great. Fresh bread was hot from the oven and the seafood stew was worth the $40. Definitely worth visiting when in Williamstown.
My first time trying Croatian cuisine and I was impressed. For Starters didnt book a table and were still accommodated for. The service was perfect and I couldn't fault it. So much care was put into every single dish and the flavors were out of this world. Highly recommend

We prob discovered this restaurant a year ago. One of those restaurants that we looked at a outside menu and decided to give it ago.
It’s worth a 5 simply because it’s now a all time favorite of ours to go to.. a restaurant we think about when we want comfort food / don’t want to think.
Each time we have been there, the food has always been very consistent in tasting awesome. We have never come across a dish that disappointed us. Each dish has always been cleaned off the plate.
Staff is friendly (although we always seem to meet up with the same guy). So can’t really comment about others.
In terms of wine, they have wine that tickles hubbys fancy. Something different in terms of where the grape grows. You can’t get that anywhere. Sorry. I can’t really articulate about the wine... when they spoke about it, I was more interested in the food. 😜. I’m a moscato kinda gal.
Later on, when speaking to friend about croatian restaurants, we found out this was a all time favorite with his Croatian wife. She says it’s Authentic.

Stunning food and service. We often look for a restaurant we haven’t been to for birthdays and anniversaries. Tonight was my birthday and they didn’t disappoint! The most helpful and cheeky service that made our experience sensational. From drinks to food adjustments, everything was suggested and loved if taken up. The food itself was better than I could have imagined. We will be back. Each dish was perfect.
We actually asked for extra bread so we could mop up the leftover sauce on the plate it was that good! Yuuuuummmm!!!!! Great service also. Highly recommend you check it out.
If you have been in Croatia and you feel nostalgic and need a quick fix then step into Ragusa. We had an absolute ball, great atmosphere mostly created by the manager and his great staff.
It was great chatting with the “deus ex machina” gospođa Nada (apologises if I don’t recall name properly) who’s recipes we had tried that evening.
And who made a sweet twist on Štrukle for me.

Visited here last night for an anniversary. It was delicious! We had the squid ink dumplings with calamari for entree, stuffed capsicums & pork belly special for mains. The dumplings were melt in your mouth & mains just delish! Staff were friendly and attentive. We also shared the chocolate hazelnut cake for dessert which was a great way to finish.
You can’t fault Ragusa. The meals are amazing, and the service is next level you don’t find that in hospitality anymore and it’s refreshing to experience. I highly recommend the seafood stew ! The specials are always really good as well. Can’t fault the deserts either. We’ve had every one and I couldn’t say a favourite they are all that good. Some might say it’s pricey but you get what you pay for and id happily pay that and some.

The staff were so nice to give us a table, even though they were tight on bookings.
The service is excellent, with a fantastic wine selection, including some Croatian wines I was keen to try. The waiter made a great recommendation! As it was my first time having Croatian, I was not aware of the amazing selection of food!
I had the stuffed capsicums and it was the best meal I have had in a long, long while. The dessert was divine and paired with an excellent long black coffee, I walked out a very happy Melbourne girl.
I’ll be recommending this place to everyone I know and bothers to listen to me.

A warm night, a beach view, homely food and friendly staff; perfect combination. Croatian home cooking prepared with love and delivered with a smile. The service was faultless. The food had deep, rich flavours and tasted like it came from a family kitchen in Croatia. I highly recommend a visit. Sit outside and bask in the warm summer night.
Had a great date night with my girlfriend here, Very pretty place both inside and outside, the food was very good. I had the Pork Belly it was beautiful. The most impressive thing for me was how welcoming and kind the waiting staff were,The man who waited us was very pleasant and happy looking, If I had smaller change on me I would have left a tip.
Cosy and intimate restaurant with yummy authentic food. Recommend the squid ink dumplings - they were my fav. Service was good, it wasn't very busy so found them quite attentive. Price was on par with food ($200 for two with some alcoholic drinks).
What a hidden gem! Very delicious meals and the staff are so friendly and helpful. I wouldn't have known about this place had it not been recommended by a work colleague. I highly recommend the Crni njoki (squid ink dumplings), Ribarska popara (seafood stew with polenta) and the Moreton Bay Bugs na buzaru (definitely order the main size). If you love seafood then you'll enjoy the food served at Ragusa.

Love coming here for the great food and warm atmosphere. Having said that I have only ever ordered the zagorski strukli which come close to being as good as mum's! I do mix it up slightly though by adding the greens beans or roast potatoes or the cabbage salad as a delicious side to complete my meal.

Hvala prijatelj! Thank you my friends. They're not actually my friends, we just met that night. But if you can cook dalmatian food like that, you're my prijatelj! It was like be back when I lived in Venice and we spent every holiday in Croatia. The buzara was fingerlicking (literaly, your fingers will be cover in tomato sauce). The cevapcici were a bit undercooked for my taste, but that's my fault as I like them crispy burned and a bit charcoaly. The selection of cured meats and cheeses was a bit "unexplained", and that's why 4.5 and not 5. I'm one of that customers who wants to know the story of what I'm about to eat. The pinnacle of everyting (and this shows a very well "engineered" menu) was the little, sublime, vanilla puding. Most vanilla puddings taste like plastic, while this was an explosion of vanilla, barely contained by the confit mandarin. Plus, they have Karlovacko beer on the menu and that made me homesick and nostalgic. Add the fact that we ate at dawn, outside, with the view of the port and what can I say if not HVALA, HVALA, PRIJATELJ!
This building is beautiful, the architecture is amazing.
As for the food...Wow! As soon as I had a bite I was transported to somewhere along the Mediterranean, the service was amazing and very personalised, it felt just like home. Great food, great service, the stand out dish was the calamari salad.
Highly recommended, maybe just a tad over where it should have been priced but overall an enjoyable experience.
Squid ink gnocchi was amazing. Rest of the food was good without being great and it's on the pricier end. Very friendly service and good location.

Absolutely delicious food! Have lived in Williamstown for a while and bemoaned the fact there's very few nice restaurants locally - Ragusa where have you been hiding!
The food was utterly delicious, service exceptionally friendly and all up we had one of the nicest lunches I've had in a while.
We shared the yabby risotto, calamari and baked ricotta pastry puffs along with a lovely bottle of white. We did intend on ordering individual mains but were so full from the generous entrees that we couldn't fit another bite in.
I'll be back for the Morton Bay Bugs next time!
Yabby Risotto: absolutely outstanding. Entree serve came with three generous yabby's and the risotto was rich, generous and authentic (none of this claggy junk you get elsewhere!)
Calamari: my mum that doesn't eat calamari was convinced to try this and had a look of astonishment on her face as she declared "is THIS calamari?" The best she's ever had and now a convert. I'd have to agree - alongside the salad it was pretty special.
Traditional baked pastry pillows filled with ricotta - my god what a dreamy dish. Loved every mouthful and the truffle oil just takes it to a completely different level. I'll dream about this dish.
All in all a brilliant restaurant (and this is from a complete food snob). We'll be back very soon.
We have dined at Ragusa quite a few times and it is without a doubt one of the very best restaurants in Williamstown. It's beautifully rustic and authentic and the service is great BUT I digress - I came for the mussels and I've had them before - they were THE BEST MUSSELS I ha e EVER had - anywhere.... ever. That's all I'm going to say. Just go there and have them - plump, tasty in the most beautiful tangy, spicy, tomatoey, gorgeous sauce that just begs to be mopped up by the freshly made flat bread. Stunning!!!!
I've never had Croatian food before but now that I have, it is one of my favourite cuisines. I was elated to see seafood feature so prominently on their menu and was just as excited to read the reviews.
We had the following:
1. Yabby risotto, which was amazing and is easily one of the best I've had. It was seasoned perfectly and was so flavourful. The yabby was cooked well too but I wish the claws were broken up so you could get more meat as it's near impossible to get otherwise. 5/5
2. Seafood stew which was "wonderful" as my husband put it. It was really tasty and he thought it was good even though he doesn't like polenta. He rated it a 5/5.
3. Fig parfait which was nice and I gobbled it up in record time although it didn't blow me away anywhere near as much as the risotto. 4/5
4. Pastry pillows which was good but quite heavy. 3/5
Service was also very prompt and courteous. We were well looked after. 5/5
Can't wait to come back and try more of their menu.

Last night was my third time dining here and every experience has been fabulous! I want to try everything on the menu!
We had the baked ricotta pastries for entree, which were light, crispy and a real treat to eat.
Mains were the rich squid ink dumplings with lovely fresh calamari and the braised beef and capsicum, which had a really lovely flavour and texture.
The staff are brilliant and the venue is gorgeous

Being our first experience with Croatian cuisine we were a little nervous however the hostess thoroughly explained the menu options and made some fantastic recommendations.

I've been here many times and have never been disappointed. Hands down the best restaurant in Williamtown. Staff make you feel like your at someone's home and not a restaurant. Warm and welcoming.
The ONLY restaurant us locals will go out to eat. Especially if you're looking for seafood. I would HIGHLY recommend this place has absolutely delicious Croatian food and staff. We have had almost everything on the menu and it is consistently amazing! The mussel are probably my favourite with a rich tomato based sauce that comes with finger licking flat bread to mop up all the juices. The servings are generous and starters are great to share between friends. The selection of wines are delightful. The staff are welcoming and friendly. The only down side is it is a little expensive and it is very loud so don't expect your grandparents to hear what you are saying :)

Dined here on a Friday night. Staff were very attentive and fast.
They had delicious merlot, however the wines were expensive by the glass and not overly generous.
We had duck and the eye fillet steak with a side of hand cut chips.
While the food was nice I definitely think you have to be in to Eastern European food, this was a first for me as I had never eaten at an Eastern European restaurant.
I didn't particularly like the flavours and felt the meals were overpriced and lacked the fine detail and care you would expect with such expensive meals.
The eye fillet came in 2 fillets, one was perfect medium rare however the other was still rare. The steaks also had some charcoal which left a burnt taste in my mouth. I also was not a fan of the sauce, I feel like it lacked some balance. This however may be typical of Croatian cuisine.
The duck was nice and well cooked, but the highlight was the hand cut kipfler chips, we ordered some mayo to eat these with and they were up there with the best chips I've had. The rest of the meal paled compared to these chips!
It's a nice restaurant but feel like they could use some more warmth in the restaurant and the food wasn't to my taste so we probably won't be back!

Ragusa is my equal favourite restaurant in Melbourne (Rice Paper Scissors being my other love). The restaurant has a posh minimalist feel to it, with very attentive staff. Usually this makes me feel awkward but here the staff are so down to earth it is not a problem.
Ragusa has a wonderful cocktail list, lots of liqueurs you don't find elsewhere and the food is amazing!
Every time I go I order their homemade sausages, which are little bundles of flavour. They are served with a light and tangy purple cabbage salad and a side of homemade ajvar, which is possibly my favourite condiment. I also get a side of vegetables and make my partner try something new every time. Since they change the menu regularly that is not a problem. So far we have had amazing pork belly and delicious double smoked duck with sour cherry sauce. The portions are big and oh so very very satisfying.
You will need a booking as it is very popular.
Surprisingly, there are quite a few things on the menu and since I don't eat eggs and dairy I can confirm that even vegans can be accommodated - the staff are more than happy to oblige.
This restaurant well and truly deserves their place in the Good Food Guide.
For a couple you're looking at around $110 if you order drinks.
A previously undiscovered gem, we've lived in the west for three years and never eaten before. Having travelled through Eastern Europe we can say the food was authentic and delicious (especially the cevapi), the ambience great and the service outstanding. I can't remember our waitresses name but she was brilliant - and provided a great Rakia suggestion! We'll be back!
Went for birthday celebrations last weekend. Service was impeccable; attentive and caring we have a 16 month old and they were brilliant with him. He loved the kids meal of chicken and chips. The chips are kipfler pototoe and chicken thigh - nutritious and delicious. The adult food was amazing I ordered the Morton Bay bugs. The sugo sauce and accompanying bread was the perfect match. Backed dinner up with plum dumplings with sour cream for dessert the combo was an unexpected delight. Eastern European done right - I'll go along to this on any night no need for an invite.

Best Eastern European ive dined at. I have been here with my family Many times and Have Never been disappointed. The service is always impeccable and the food not far from perfect. Recommend the mussels, their Grappa style aperitif and chocolate crepes. Yummm!
We recently attended a private function at Ragusa. We hadn't been here before - what a great restaurant. We had a private room at the back. The food was fantastic. The service was exceptional - well done to the girls who looked after us. We're happy to come back and eat here again. Highly recommended.

I have one word for you FLAVOUR! I would highly recommend any of the seafood dishes and also the hot chips they are sliced into rounds so you know your eating a real potato just like in Europe ! They have a great wine selection and were very good at recommending something you may like. Prepare to want to order the entire menu and be so full you can barely walk to the car. We love it in summer this type of food + the beach goes hand in hand!

If you're after real Dalmatian cuisine then this is your place. We dine here once in a while as a group from work and so far we have only good comments.
The menu is reasonable and will cater for both meat and seafood lovers. Seafood is tasty and likely to be fresh and when I asked the waiter just to verify it's not frozen I got some angry looks of slight insult ;)
Squid ink gnocchi with calamari (crni njoki) is my all time favorite followed by a huge seafood stew (ribarska popara). Pork bellies, Cevapi and beef fillets are also worth having. A small selection of desserts is also available and coffee is brewed (hopefully) from Vienna-based Julius Meinl beans. I just love their fancy red&white espresso cups. The restaurant also has a range of original Croatian beers of which Ozujsko is my favorite but you can also have Karlovacko or Lasko (Slovenian).
The place is spacious and the design is pretty light and neutral and it will suit practically everybody. The restaurant is managed by at least a 2nd generation of Croatians and as far as I'm aware the chef has European roots as well. The service is excellent and friendly. There is nothing more comforting to dine at an ethnic restaurant and be served by people who live and breath the food they make not to mention they speak the language.
PS. There is a huge drawing of the Dubrovnik fortress on the wall that will remind you of all the nice evenings you have spent at the Adriatic.

Brilliant. Celebrated Mum's 65th birthday and felt like we'd been greeted by family when we walked in. Five adults and three kids were treated to authentic Eastern European food.

By far the BEST restaurant in Williamstown. Another wonderful dinner last night at Ragusa. The service, food & wine were outstanding. There is nothing to fault about this place.
After receiving the warmest of welcomes, we shared the special mussels dish and the ricotta stuffed pastries for entree (I could have licked the bowl clean of that wonderful sauce the mussels were cooked in). Next up my husband had the veal & I the Moreton bay bugs - both meals again were so full of flavour - amazing!
I cannot speak highly enough of this place. Thank you Ragusa for another first class dining experience.

It's significantly better than average, the service is pretty good and attentive, the entrees and desserts are very good, and pretty decent coffee, found the sauce on the wagyu steaks we ordered too overpowering being the only minor fault.
Ragusa was a great experience I organised my uncles 60th there. We were placed in the back of the restaurant which was fantastic as we had kids that ran around and wasn't disturbing anyone else in the restaurant. Sasha was so very helpful and the staff were fantastic very helpful and easy to deal with. Food was amazing and all of us walked out very happy. I would like to thank them all very much for such a nice experience.

Love this place!. This is one of our local restaurants and we have been a few times. Our most recent visit 3 weeks ago was one of the best in terms of food and service. The service is friendly yet, super professional from the wine service, to the correct cutlery and brushing the crumbs away after each course. There is a lot of attention to detail that lots of other places just don't do these days. These guys really know what they are doing. The food is incredibly tasty and fresh. I always order the whole fish and have not been disappointed.

Amazing food experience!. I had heard good things about Ragusa but found out for myself last night. Went with a big group - shared an overly generous amount of food for entree. The flavour & quality were divine. Mains were amazing - I had the steak & it was beautifully cooked with baby veges in a tasty sauce. Everyone else raved about their meal. Desserts were also faultless.Totally recommend Ragusa - service was fabulous with a very friendly staff all round. Can't wait to take our overseas friends there.

Great for business and more. Recently moved our weekly business lunch to Ragusa, so I've tried a lot of the lunch menu already. But I don't want to overlook the great job the owners have done with the venue, where they have found a nice balance between table size space and decor. The menu is tight but covers all the desirable food groups and can be relied upon for quality and constancy. Great wine selection and truly professional staff.
Great Food. I really enjoyed my meal at Ragusa. I had Calamari and it was so tender and the serving size was quite big. I couldnt fit in desert. The staff are very friendly and were always coming by to make sure we were happy. I would definetely go again and recommend this restaurant.

We came here for lunch with friends and it was wonderful. Great service, great food, great atmosphere. Sooooo good, you must must must try this place. I had the soup of the day - white bean & prosciutto, a taste of the squid ink dumplings (yum!). Our friends had the ricotta & mushroom pastries & the whitebait. All tasty, a good start to the meal. Main; hubby enjoyed his cevapi, my duck was balanced nicely with the sour cherries. The blood sausage & squid with potatoes also went down a treat. For dessert we shared the plum dumplings and the hazelnut cake. All great dishes and very filling. This restaurant is a gem!

If you can cook well for a crowd.... ... then you must really be good, especially when steak is included on the menu. I ate here recently as a guest at a function and I'm looking forward to returning to the front room. Highlights included the mussels (I wish I was alone so I could sop up all the pan juices with my bread instead of worrying about my fellow guests), ricotta and pastry pillows, octopus salad. My husband had the eye fillet and vouched for its quality. Staff were also attentive. Well done, Ragusa, and see you again soon.
Beautiful Croation Restaurant! Food was superb, fresh and wholesome. The owner is very attentive and spend time introducing the food to us. Splendid service. Will definitely return with our friends!!
Enjoyed a lovely family dinner. It was my first experience of Croatian food. The food was excellent, especially the goulash and the calamari. The strudel and hazelnut ice cream was fantastic. Great choice of liquors. The restaurant manager Eva provided great advice, service, humour and cultural explanations.
Absolutely sensational Croatian food, First time here and won't be my last 10/10.
What a wonderful place! The food is delicious and the service just right. We had a wonderful waitress who was friendly, just the right amount of cheeky and the whole time there was so enjoyable. You need to go there! We are returning as soon as possible.

My best friend had amazing wedding in the venue. The events manager was very lovely to work with. The food and atmosphere was amazing. Everything went to plan and couldn't have been happier with the reception venue.
I held my son's baptism at Regusa Republika over the weekend and the restaurant was amazing. The owner Eva was so accommodating and helpful from start to finish. The food was amazing, we were so impressed with the quality, flavour, portion size and service. The room we had at the back of the restaurant was beautiful! The room had a cozy, rustique vibe. We couldn't have been more impressed. Thank you so much Eva and the team at Regusa! Will certainly be back and recommending you to friends/family looking for a place to hold their next event.
We hosted our wedding here and we couldn't have been happier with the choice. Eva and her team went above and beyond to make our day special, and it couldn't have been more perfect.
The wedding had about 45 guests and it was the perfect size, though I believe they can host up to 100. We had a relaxed ceremony, and while some photos were being taken and after some drinks in the courtyard, they had transformed the room to seat everyone.
The service and food was incredible and everyone told us they couldn't believe how much there was to eat. Eva also had plenty of contacts to help with a cake and decorations and short notice.
We go back often for meals and plan to continue doing so.
