Review Little Republic Cafe - Williamstown

Drove from the city for a stroll and a change of scene, stumbled across this wonderful cafe, which had all four of us in raptures. Lovely staff, simple but excellent food, and good value to boot. On a pleasant day, the outdoor seating can’t be beaten. Definitely one to return to—thanks!

The waiter was adorable and so attentive - he seemed to really enjoy his job. The crepes were divine! The best I've ever had. The coffee was the of the excellent standard of Williamstown. Even the cook was delightful! I can't recommend this place highly enough. It is also my mum's new favourite. (Sorry I didn't take pictures, I was too busy stuffing my face).

I was so excited to check out a new crepe place. The staff were friendly. The cafe was really smoky, it smelled of old burning oil. I got a savoury and a sweet crepe. Both were too thick and tasted of bicarb. The fillings were average. It wouldn’t be too difficult to clean up the place and improve the recipes and it could be such a lovely spot! The coffee was delicious :)

First time here after reading good reviews. My husband and I enjoyed our BLTs, different to a standard one. This was done street food style and it had bacon jam in it. Yum! Fresh OJ and iced coffee was refreshing. My mother-in-law enjoyed her coffee. Lots of options to try on the menu. We will be back to try more things!

Just had the loveliest experience there with two super nice employees. I went in looking for something sweet, small and vegan, and they made me a delicious fresh crepe in minutes. Looking at their menu, I’ll definitely be coming back next time I’m in Williamstown :) would definitely recommend

Food is very nice but every time I go here you guys are so slow with your service or you simply just aren’t open at all. I came in at 930 the other weekend ordered a crepe and was told ‘oh I better turn the machine on it takes a while to warm up’. Sort it out.

Lovely atmosphere, paired with friendly staffs and amazing food just made my day! The crepes were delicious and the new brekkie menu is a must-try as well! Will be returning very soon :)

Absolutely fantastic! Delicious fresh food bursting with flavour. The galettes are light and you can see the ingredients are premium quality. The roast duck rice paper rolls were stunning. Very friendly service. I'll be back very soon.

Situated on the main strip of Williamstown, this new cafe is easy to miss...do yourself a favour and don't!

Little Republic Cafe is an ode to Little Saigon during the French occupation, serving 'East meets West' inspired dishes, focusing on crepes, galletes and great coffee.

My partner and I visited on a busy Saturday afternoon, the weather was out and so were the people in Williamstown. As we entered we were greeted by the friendly server who seated us inside. The place was half full, with both indoor and outdoor seating.

Let's start with the coffee. LRC use beans from a boutique roastery (Reverence Coffee) from right here in Melbourne. The coffee was smooth, full of character and served at the right temperature that it didn't last too long in front of me... but great coffee under $4 in Williamstown? Winner Winner!

As for food, I ordered the Little Republic Revolution - a Gallette with roast duck, cucumber, spring onions and orange sauce. I was hesitant to order this at first, as it was on the pricey side of the menu and duck can be easily murdered when not cooked correctly.

My trepidations were put to ease when the duck came out beautifully - nice, moist and full of flavour, not dry and reheated like I was worried about.

The individual elements of the dish were initially a little bland to my liking, a little more orange sauce perhaps? However, once I combined the elements together, and ensured I had a piece of orange with every bite, it was superb.

Definitely, a place to check out when in Williamstown. I will be back with the weather to try some of the dessert crepes with ice cream, and of course the coffee.

Food 4.5/5
Coffee 5/5
Service 5/5 (waitress speaks a minimum of three languages(?!)
Atmosphere 4.5/5
Value 4.5/5
