Absolutely amasing food and service! A great experience for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a different vibe and feeling to most Cafe's. Would definitely recommend anyone who likes their food and coffee to go! Especially love the dinner service.. Very personalised, professional and intimate!

A lovely hidden gem in Willoughby! Really busy during netball season though, it'd be hard to get a park. 🍞The Incinerator French Toast ($19) Soft Brioche, burntbutter caramel ice cream, brûlée banana, maple syrup and fresh & freeze-dried fruits I loved this dish so much. The French toast had so many fresh fruits piled on top. Was so yummy and didn't feel heavy.

Was so pleased to stumble across The Incinerator Cafe in Willoughby, such a unique cafe. I love the spacious outdoor, perfect on the weekend. The interior is quirky and great to watch the chefs hard at work. The whole meal was delightful and creative! Loveeee the coffee they use too!
I went here with my friend and amazed with how friendly the staffs. They greeted us with smiles and helped us in choosing the foods. The taste of the food wasnt so bad yet can be improved. However the decor environment worth all the money i’ve spent here. Will i go here again? You got all my money.
It's my local cafe so I go here often but there are definitely things that could be improved. Like more variety in the menu. They never change the menu in the slightest and the obsession with sourdough can get a bit boring.

Came here twice, and both experiences was very consistenly good, food was really yum! Loving the laid back athsmosphere here, kids friendly cafe with playground park right next to it. Will come back soon
Always wanted to come to this place and today we’re here. It did not disappoint me a all or I should say, it was surprisingly good. A good place with indoor and outdoor dining. We chose a table outside as it is a cloudy day with mild winds. A very good place to have a laid back breakfast or dinner. Food was good, of course. Will surely return.
The Incinerator Cafe has sprung up next to the Willoughby Leisure Centre, offering casual outdoor dining or indoor dining in a modern rustic interior space where the open kitchen is housed, under a large Scandinavian inspired tree branch hanging overhead with glass baubles for added ambience. It was a warm day when we visited, so we decided to sit inside with the aircon and enjoyed a nice affogato to cool down too, before tucking into a delicious Crispy Fried Salt and Pepper Soft Shell Crab dish with an artful mound of pea tendrils drizzled with sesame dressing on top. There was a generous amount of the crunchy crab morsels which we used to mop up the addictive sriracha aioli.
We had beef burger and salt pepper soft shell crabs. really tasty. Decent coffee. Beautifully presented both in or outdoor area. If it wasn't for the wait would have rated 5 stars.
Sydney put on such a beautiful day today. We enjoyed a bacon and egg roll, fairy floss hot cakes and fried eggs with garlic toast.
Coffee was steaming hot and perfect.
Although it was super busy, still managed to get an inside seat with a high chair. Service time was good and friendly. Prices are a little medium to high but overall the whole experience was nice.
This kid friendly cafe is just at the playground with outdoor seating, coffee to go and the swimming centre next door.
We came on a Sunday afternoon at 1:45pm.
There were lots of people sitting inside shielding themselves from the chill, but the outside was nice and quaint for those who can withstand the harsh winter's air.
After reading an article on the Top 5 places to visit in North of Sydney being the Incinerator it was on a visit list but always thought it way too far to venture out...
Great food, lovely atmosphere and friendly service. The special (I had the kingfish done in a Christmas shape) was well worth it. We'll be back, even though we live on the other side of town.
Let me tell you why I love this cafe!
1) drive up and park out the front... no parking hassles!
2) surrounded by a natural bush setting, spaces for kids to roam safely!
3) spent years taking my kids to Willoughby Leisure Centre with not a decent coffee in sight. This place certainly fills that void with The Grounds roasts!
4) An historic building that was previously used to burn garbage and refuse (1934) is saved and restored and used for the enjoyment of the local community. It is also an art space!
5) Only had breakfast here but could easily come with my laptop and spend a lot of time here. A very calming environment.
6) Fantastic homemade toasted granola that is so good they are thinking of packaging this for sale.
7) Some Vegan options available!
8) Licensed....always good for a mum's lunch!
9) Plenty of room for the pram brigade!
10) Delicious, nutritious, wholesome food!
Having just moved into the area it's great to find a cafe that encompasses all that is great in a cafe. The food is wholesome and the coffee is what you would expect from a seasoned barista.
The service is warm and efficient with table service taking the stress out of ordering.
My 'green brekkie bowl' is tasty with tahini and dukha rounding out the flavour with house made beetroot hummus.
I would give it 5 out of 5 but for the wind! The location is ideal for families with plenty of room for the kids to play.
Amazing coffee and great service! Dropped my t/a coffee due to wiggling child as soon as I had walked out the door and the great staff made me a replacement free of charge immediately. Really appreciate it, friendly staff make all the difference. Bacon and egg rolls are DELICIOUS. Highly recommend.
It is a busy cafe located at a park. Coffee originated from the grounds of Alexandria which I've always loved. As much as I love the food and coffe there, what makes me reluctant to come back is that tables can get very close to another and due to its good business plus background music, the atmosphere is in my personal opinion a bit too loud for someone who's looking to enjoy their lazy Sunday morning while chatting to friend across the table.
Anzac day was nice and chilled with my family at this hidden 'gem' cafe. The poached eggs was cooked perfect!The house made hash brown is A 'must try'! Good to know they open for Dinner，definitely will be back.

Ambience：this place always smell so good with their wood fire oven. Definite one of my favorite spots to enjoy my morning. Great location, I like a "Gem" hidden in the forest. Beautiful heritage building itself with a amazing architectual touch, bring out a fantastic vibe you could enjoy.
Food：phenomenal food, I've tried the acai bowl. The chef is very creative, you could tell he puts love on the plates.
Service: this place is always busy. Very popular in the neighborhood but great service you will always get.
Great coffee and breakfast location. Noticed they have an art gallery for post breakky wanderings! Located near a great bush track, noice morning idea to walk the track and then settle for breakfast and art stimulation :)
A great lunch spot! We sat outside and enjoyed eating amongst nature. Good coffee and food. Could have a few more sandwich options or stone oven pizza.
Amazing cafe in Willoughby. Set high on a park this is virtually like having a picnic but it's a cafe. Food was delicious and service super friendly. The owner was very helpful and I got to try a delicious new menu addition of fish with eggplant and tomatoes.. My friends loved their food too. You must visit for a lazy glass of wine on a Sunday afternoon..
New cafe on our local regular list. Staff are great. Food is good. They have Grounds coffee which is a fav of mine. Can't complain. We'll be back for sure.
Couldn't fault any of it - the service was friendly and impeccable, the food was SO tasty and the ambience was perfectly warm and cozy for a chilly night. Everyone around seemed to be having a great time as well. Ps. Try the Gin & Tonic with the sorbet - have never had anything like it! Yum.
A lovely little cafe with outdoor seating that's perfect for a nice day like today. The service was friendly and attentive and the coffee and food were all great! Excellent selection of pastries - the matcha berry cruffin was delicious (loved that matcha centre)!
I found a place where you can eat your breakfast, lunch or dinner which not only serve great food but also have an art space with greenish view on the back and really close to playground. It's one a kind restaurant, right? This restaurant located in Willoughby, Northern Sydney called Incinerator.
Food tasted amazing and the drinks were fab although it was disappointing as they had run out of burgers while their staff were eating burgers outside and there were limited other food options to choose from.

I've been here numerous times for breakfast and it never fails to deliver, and our first dinner experience was no exception.
A high roof and dimly lit spacious interior set the ambience, consistent with the rustic theme throughout.
Everything is big! Generous portion sizes make it ideal for sharing and trying a bit of everything.
The lamb was definitely a highlight. Succulent meat, not too fatty, and served with some delicious condiments.
A simple tomato and mozzarella salad perfectly complemented our meat dish. The waitress said the mozzarella was like "little pillows of clouds" and she was not wrong! Absolutely delicious.
I couldn't sign off without mentioning the Incinerator G&T - definitely worth a try. Recommend stirring in the cucumber sorbet for an even more delightful party in your mouth!

I’ve been meaning to go to The Incinerator for quite awhile, finally making it there today. Turning up mid week, mid morning the cafe was relatively busy and stayed this busy for the entire 2 hours I was there… I was first greeted by the friendliest of staff, taking a seat inside the cafe with an industrial open roof creating a fantastic relaxed vibe, all while watching the kitchen staff in the open kitchen!
I went with the ‘Have it your way eggs’ two poached eggs on sough dough, with avocado smash, honey and thyme mushrooms with tomato chutney. Couldn’t fault any off it… Maybe an extra piece of bread, the avocado portion was huge! Thank you :)
The coffee is from The Grounds need I say any more… #thebest

However, the vibe of this cafe is relaxed and friendly with easy pram access and quality food.
Delicious breakfast in peaceful surrounds. Good service (the manager is particularly helpful and service oriented) and beautiful building. Love the decor. Ate the pancake stack with apple compote and it was delicious. Light but satisfying, flavours on point, and well presented. Tim Tam shake was a bit too rich and not creamy (suspect they need to use better quality ice cream). All up really enjoyed my experience and would go again

The Incinerator Café in Willoughby is a place I had been looking forward to taste-testing. Occupying the ground level of the Walter Burley Griffin designed Willoughby Incinerator building this is a chic, modern café, with much to offer. Originally built in the 1930’s as one of thirteen incinerators designed by Burley Griffin and Eric Nicholls, the place fell dormant in 1967 before being revitalised by Acme&Co architects in 2011, transforming it in to a café and art gallery.
Love this place. Great coffee by the Grounds, the food plays on traditional favourites with modern twists. The black sausage is amazing and an absolute must. There's also some sweets on offer. Make sure you grab a table outside overlooking the treetops.
Cool location, great food, menu is simple but all well executed, coffee superb. Lovely spot to be either indoors or out, and the staff are on their game too

This is a really great cafe, but it's far too popular and gets packed to the gills after about 9AM, even on weekdays. It's got a nice ambience (although cold in winter) with beautiful views out over the suburbs and the park, and the outside tables are wonderful in warmer weather. The problem is there simply aren't enough staff on to handle both the masses of take-away orders and the dine-in customers.
I had a mixed experience this week-I arrived just before the crowds and got a nice corner seat and ordered breakfast and coffee in no time. My coffee arrived quickly and was pretty good, although not extra ho as I ordered (I had a hunch I'd be waiting a while for my meal). The waitress was lovely but obviously very busy. My food took an absolute age to arrive even though I arrived before the rush-and I only ordered toast-and I was pretty frustrated to see several tables who ordered after I did receive their far more complicated meals before mine finally arrived. It also got extremely noisy and crowded by the time I'd finished, with people milling around everywhere and clogging up the walkways. There are also no table numbers, so when I went up to pay the girl at the counter took a while to figure out where I'd been.
All in all, if I had time to spend and someone to spend it with I'd definitely come back, but if in a hurry would probably go somewhere else.

When The Urban List came out with 100 Sydney Cafes You Should Have Been To By Now , my boyfriend and I have made it our mission to go through them all. The Incinerator is on that list and on Mother's Day we decided to do a quick brunch here ...
Early morning stroll through the park to the incinerator what a great spot. We sat outside in the sun. The food was great we had the Harissa Salmon, Sweet potato rosti, corn frittatas and the pancakes. My pick was the corn frittas mainly for the chili jam it was to die for. The pancakes were great but we're a little dry would need some sort of maple syrup, the salmon was great expect a salmon fillet this is not your average smoked salmon dish and if you like cucumber then this is the dish for you. The sweet potato rosti is maybe not the most healthy option but in terms of rosti this is certainly one of the best I've tried.
This cafe does gluten free bread and grounds coffee - no almond milk which was a little let down for me.
Overall I would highly recommend this breakfast spot. Great location, service and the food is delicious!!

It might be true in some cases but the one we saw in Willoughby had totally different vibe! Old wooden benches with some umbrellas welcomed us as we entered the area and this unique thing (it's actually a lift!) caught my attention for sure!

The ground floor of the 1930’s Walter Burley Griffin designed Willoughby Incinerator building has been transformed into a fantastic new cafe. The Incinerator cafe is located within Bicentennial Reserve and next to Hallstrom Park which has a great oval, playground and scooter park. We live up the road and come to the playground regularly with our favourite feature being the scooter park which even has mini street signs, lanes and bridges. I loved the vibe of The Incinerator from the friendly welcome to the old wooden benches and the open kitchen. More than half the clientele were families and the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome.

Great food, noisy & cold interior. Food is terrific, if a little over-priced. Acme's interior fit out is lovely, borrowing from design elements of Burley Griffin... but no heating in winter makes this space freezing and it does get extremely noisy during peak periods. Owner made a rather strange comment to us when we made a commented regarding one of our party's dietary restriction... something about 'perhaps you'd like Devon instead'. Perhaps best if he stays back of house rather than front.

Great location. Interesting venue and ambience. Lunch menu was thoughtful and was fairly good though could have been a bit more flavoursome. Lots of staff present and we were lucky to be served by the young female maître de who was delightful, but it was as other reviewers say hard to get other staffs attention. A worthy addition to the area.
Great kid friendly cafe. I'm so excited to have discovered this great kid friendly cafe. The Incinerator is not only conveniently located next to a great playground, it also has a great menu, nice fresh modern australian food as well as a great reasonably priced kids menu. It also serves great coffee too! I can't believe the bad reviews, we had nice friendly service & the food was good too. I had a tasty chargrilled octopus salad & my friend had a nice chicken & quinoa salad, my kid tried one of the kid sized tim tam chocolate milkshake which he devoured (& I enjoyed too). I will definitely be coming back.

Good food. Busy, busy cafe. Coffee deserved a second order. Pork roll with crackling caught our attention, just so tasty, the crackling was a let down. For the amount of money for the roll without any accompaniments and deep fried prawn cracker style crackling was disappointing. The pulled pork sandwich was tasty. Attention to detail was lacking, not enough cutlery and serviettes in the little box in our table. We had to recall the server for this, she should have noticed. Overall good and would come again.
This is such a great gem of a cafe. The head chef and his team are putting out some of the most exciting new age breakfast- brunch selections in Sydney. Well worth a look!

Amazing!!!. I've been there for breakfast and lunch a few times now. Food is spectacular! I particularly love the Salmon with poached eggs for breakfast, and the "4 little pigs". I haven't seen anything like it on a breakfast menu at any other cafe. Coffee is also first class and the green smoothie is a great healthy option. Lunch is always busy - 7 days a week. You can't book, so best to get there by 12 to get a table. will definitely be going back again soon. looking forward to when they can open for dinner!
Great place to eat. Great menu options. Lovely staff. Indoor and outdoor dining. Soft and hard beverage options. The milkshake options are phenomenal. Everything presented well. No big company soft drinks, but other options are there. Coffee is good said my friends (I don't drink it).
I was super impressed by this cafe. We dined in and got baked eggs and the French toast. The food was incredible and came out quickly and the service was great. It’s such a cute place too with lots of seating and very cosy.

Food is delicious, staff are friendly and helpful and both the outdoor and indoor seating have a great atmosphere, outdoor of course is pet friendly and feels like being in a park, highly recommend.

A fusion Cafe. Lovely staff and food. It has a great outdoor area for pets and kids too. There is a park nearby so you can go for a walk afterwards.
