Review One Earth Cafe - Willoughby

I've moved out of the area but always look forward to a visit! Really lovely staff, fair trade coffee, and excellent home-made meals. Really hearty and non-processed! A haven in Sydney.

3.2 - Dropped by to grab a Chai on the way past - wasn't sure if they would give me a Chai Latte or a Chai Tea actually. They gave me a Chai Latte - it tasted like Warm, Sweet Water. The store was interesting though - there were books (with a note saying nobody should read them whilst eating at the tables), clothes and jewellery that were being sold. A couple sat at a table enjoying their brunch. The owners looked like a husband and wife, polite, quiet and the cafe seemed homely.

I had high hopes for this place but was very disappointed. The owner was quite weird when we asked about the origins of the cafe, advised him about allergies and used the cafe’s only PowerPoint. He actually stomped over and yanked my computer charger out of the wall and said his fairy lights are part of the atmosphere and need to be plugged in. I’m also outraged that he charged us $0.50 to use a credit card, which is against the new law! The only redeeming factor was the moroccan phyllo pastry was quite nice but I nonetheless won’t be coming back here. It’s no wonder this place is dead empty.

50c EFTPOS fee that breaks the new laws. Staff became rude after customers started to use their laptops, although the cafe was empty. Ripped out their power plugs from the wall and told them that they were disrupting the aesthetic of the cafe. Food was disappointing for the price, and the salad was contaminated with the allergen that they had been warned about.

Ok so this is a very quaint and cool looking cafe with a lot of charm… but the coffee and food unfortunately don’t live up to the looks at all. One of the worst (and hottest) coffees I’ve had in Sydney and a very average bacon and egg roll… and more than you pay elsewhere. Really disappointing, hope the owners can turn it around.

Loved the ambiance and food is equally good. It reminds me of ancient cafes that I used to go in Europe. Price is reasonable too. All in all a hidden jem. Perfect place to have relaxed breakfast.

Great quality home made food ❤️ We specially love their tempeh wrap/sandwich, we had one yesterday, yummy… It’s like eating at home. Very friendly, down to earth couple running the cafe for many years. Looking forward the lockdown ends to dine-in there again. 🥰

Quality food, quality service - Jenny and Peter provide a welcoming and warming atmosphere at One Earth Cafe. I would highly recommend making a visit, especially for their rich coffee and delicious home made treats.

Best chai, best nachos, best risotto filo pies, cutest decor and awesome second hand clothing. My fave cafe, basically :)

Great coffee and friendly staff. Parking in the little carpark around the corner makes it very easy to access this lovely little cafe.

Omg what a lovely little café this is! Enjoyed every part of it. It seems to also be part clothing store with lots of other knick-knacks around the place.

To be honest, didn’t really have high expectations for the food but just thought it’d be a nice place for a relaxing brunch. However, the food was highly enjoyable! It feels like wholesome, delicious food that’s good for the soul, made with loving care from the owner’s heart. I mean it is pretty standard stuff but definitely done in a more healthy, homely way.

There’s a DIY eggs with added extras, and we added a potato cake, mushrooms, and spinach. The eggs were perfectly scrambled, like couldn’t get any better, and the sides were all great healthy choices. The best thing about it all was how bland it was! And I mean this in the best way possible, because it just feels CLEAN and light. There’s salt on the table if blandness isn’t for you, so you can easily change it up. Lately I’ve started to really appreciate the natural taste of each ingredient so enjoy food which isn’t overly saucey or seasoned from time to time.

The baked potato was also a winning dish. It comes with beans, cheese and avocado (and I guess naturally with salsa and sour cream as well). When I asked if I could replace the cheese with mushrooms, the lovely man who could also possibly be the owner, was hesitant and worried that it wouldn’t taste nice. Instead he said he’ll add more avocado and some tomato, and of course I was happy to leave it up to him as it seemed he genuinely cared about bringing out a tasty dish. He also double checked for no sour cream, which was a great touch as I hadn’t mentioned it (it wasn’t listed on the menu I don’t think so I forgot). Really understanding what the customer is after and customising to their wants and needs! The potato came out with a salad on the side, and my oh my it was so good! Again, on the bland side but all the ingredients were so fresh and I loved the beans, and just everything about it.

We also got a cranberry, watermelon and mint fruit whip and it was just as delicious and refreshing and went down so well with the food!

Loved the food, loved the warm service, and loved the cosy space!

Simply the most cozy coffee shop I've ever been for the past year since I came to Sydney. The mocca and cheese cake taste great! The mocca froth looks fabulous. Sitting there is the best option for meeting friends and even for business conversations. Plus, they sell nice garments in the shop. Make you feel exactly at home. And very very nice owner! Oh my lord I love One Earth Coffee!

We loved this place! Food is very delicious, we ordered vegan options for dinner and it had lot's of taste, flavour and good size portions. Cosy, quite - exactly what we wanted. Owners were exceptionally nice and provided great service. Also, they were very patient when we took so long to pick dresses. Satisfied, had a great time with friends, and left with dresses. Highly recommend this café.

Bad service. Bought a coffee and a bacon and egg roll which were reasonable. However I ordered an extra egg and barbecue sauce which added $3.50 to the bill. When I asked about the price the owner said quite abruptly that it was due to the eggs being organic, thats why he charged that much. I felt it was a bit rich as I was alreadyhapyto pay$8.50 for a bacon and egg roll and $4.50 for the coffee. He then said that if I wanted cheaper to go and buy from across the road. When I asked to use the toilet he said it was 'free" a smart and unneccesary comment. This guy has no idea about customer service and is more suited to being a grouch rather than a cafe proprietor
