Everything about this place is a winner. Loved the food. Loved the beer selection. Loved the whole look and feel of the place, staffed by very friendly and helpful staff. A winner. A must visit. We certainly will be repeat offenders.

The most delicious food in a very funky restaurant with very well trained staff I would most definitely go again. I certainly recommend the steak and black bean beef cooked to perfection.

Been wanting to try this place for awhile now and finally managed to during lockdown #2 😅 We had the economy noodles, beef rendang, papaya salad and rice pudding. The noodles were delicious, the sambal had the perfect amount of kick for me. The beef literally melted in my mouth, they absolutely nailed the texture of the meat. The papaya salad was fresh and crunchy, perfect accompaniment for the other dishes. The rice pudding was ok, some fresh element like fruit would've been nice with it.
Beautiful food, will have to come back again after the lockdown!

This place is pretty good, I might be a little jaded as I had just come back from a long trip in south-east Asia. Everyone else was happy and it's a great spot to start your evening!

Have been to Hawker Hall numerous times now and enjoyed some visits better than others, but this recent lunch visit has definitely been the highlight. Perhaps it may have just been coincidence, but we tend to notice that the food tastes significantly better on days/times when it’s not extremely busy, however the service has always been consistently good. Today we went for lunch and tried the holy duck deal - 4 duck dishes for $44 and $3 (yes $3) beers on tap and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality and quantity of food that came out. We definitely had some doubts about this, the first being that we’d still be hungry after 4 dishes and would need more and second, we thought maybe it would be too many duck dishes in one sitting. However, each of the dishes were delicious and unique in their own right, flavours beautifully balanced, and after a couple of cheap beers we were very very full. Honestly we weren’t in a rush to come back here after our last visit but after our lunch today, I definitely think we’ll be coming back for more very soon.

Great spot. So much more than what you're expecting. Great selection of beers, and if you enjoy some hot food, this is definitely a good place to come. It does seem to get busy, so I would suggest you book. I had my 40th here on the back table and really enjoyed the banquet. You get far more food than you can eat!

Almost two years on from my first visit today I returned to HH for a hens party lunch. I was seriously impressed with the amount of food that came our way and I was particularly fond of the delicious beef and black bean dish and the Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce and ginger which was extremely flavoursome.

The coconut beef rendang also impressed. They stuffed up one of the dietaries and were supposed to correct it by bringing out another dish but the menu was so extensive that it didn’t matter that it never arrived.

Dessert was also yummy with some lovely chai ice cream accompanying the fried apple pie and some delectable almost mousse like in texture milo ice cream in the milo and coconut ice cream sundae. After today’s experience I wouldn’t hesitate to have a large group here

What a time to be alive! Had a failed attempt visiting here when it first opened you know just the usual phrase you can expect to hear when attempting to enter a restaurant for dinner in Melbourne 'it's a two hour wait' but when I came back I was prepared arriving at precisely 6pm and Lo and behold there was space for the three of us immediately (like you would bloody hope so the place is huge).

Not so lucky for those who arrived two hours later as I was working my way though a jug of moscato sangria. I laughed from my table (suckers) but we've all been there. Honestly Melbourne had been waiting for this place for so long. There are saaa many options on the menu and it's one of those spots I literally went to order everything. We started with prawn and ginger dumplings (DELICIOUS black vinegar caramel), roti canai (obligatory) and satay chicken skewers. We moved on to baked salmon curry and stir fried BBQ chicken but there are also feed me and banquet options available if you can't quite decide. Most dishes are cheap but if you are ordering right your bill won't be. Interior wise there are brightly coloured neon signs to create that hawker style atmosphere (ironic given there has clearly been no expense spared on the fitout). The Lucas Group has outdone themselves

Hawker hall is a modern Asian fusion with fun vibes. It's owned by the same people who own Chin Chin and Kisume, so you can expect it to be somewhat the same style and quality. We went for the $66pp banquet set, there was plenty of food, enough for all of us. The food was pretty in good in general. The rolled noodle stir fried is definitely the best dish we had there. Nothing else really stand out though.

Came here for the first time and definitely lived up to the hype!

We started off with the Kottu Rotti for entree and was not disappointed, definitely my favourite dish of the night. It was full of flavour and the portion size was generous, could’ve been a main dish in my opinion!

Then we had butter chicken and chicken ribs. The butter chicken unfortunately was a let down, I’ve definitely had better and should’ve chosen a different dish. However the chicken ribs were a highlight and I loved the flavour and appreciated the fact it was cooked well.

Overall a wonderful experience and the staff were also very kind which a plus, we will be back for sure!!

We went on a week night with two colleagues because of the recommendation of our customer. The restaurant was busy and they found a place for us on the corner of the bar, so that we sat around the edge and could talk with each other. The restaurant was noisy but compared to other restaurants I know, not too bad. Maybe not the atmosphere for a romantic dinner but otherwise fine.

We considered the 'feed me banquet' but it isn't really described on the menu what it is. So I asked the nice bar staff. She explained: Usually a 1 starter per person, mains until we say STOP and 1 or 2 desserts; we are happy to nominate the dishes we want or don't want.
Sounded like a deal, so we went with it.
And well the description was correct: We got three starters, heaps of mains and the desserts. The food came regularly within a reasonable time. We never had to wait for the next dish. All dishes were nice though the penang curry was disappointing for me because very 'Australianised'. Outstanding were the sichuan beef cauliflower dish - the cauliflower and the sichuan pepper were the star of the dish - and the roti which was buttery without being greasy and very flaky.
I'm not a dessert person, so I cannot comment on them.
Would I come again? Certainly yes: the atmosphere, the staff and the food was very nice. Much better than the one I experienced in the parent restaurant.

We had such a great time at Hawker Hall. The team were fantastic. We walked in last night (Friday) and decided to sit at the bar. Our section waiter was so helpful, attentive and was obviously passionate about her job which made our night even more enjoyable. Thank you 🥰 We did the $66 banquet. You will definitely not leave hungry. We had a great selection of dishes. Standouts were the popcorn chicken, prawn dumplings and barramundi. Yum, yum, yum! Also, the Friday night DJ was killer, so many good tunes and vibes 🔥

The food was awesome, nice and fresh, flavourful, nicely presented and well cooked. Delicious! Great place for bunch of people. I went alone it was great too the staff was friendly. Chinese kitchen with a western twist. That's what I call fusion food. Heaps of booze choices, stunning overall style indoor decor. Great dining experience! Thank you will definitely recommend!

We went for a casual dinner, but it turn out a surprise package. So we ordered this $66 p/p food. That is hell lot of food, followed by dessert. We ended up not eating all and packed some take away boxes. So good if you have great capacity to eat for that package. Else just have 1 dish at a time. Wibes were amazing and this guys who served us, provided an amazing service. Make it extra special for me and my friend. Enjoyed the music and drinks. Highly recommended.

I came in on a Saturday afternoon and we sat outside - so we didn't experience some of the other issues people had with the loud music, service was good and friendly They have a couple of feed me options which looked great but we just ordered a couple of dishes as per my pic and we had 4x beers and it came to just over $100. The curry was great and the fish was nicely fried but please add more pineapple there was hardly any in it ! So whilst it's is expensive Asian food (I mean a name with Hawker Hall you'd think it would be cheap eats) , there is a great ambience and it is trendy so it would be a great date night or special occasion spot with the friends.
