Delicious mouth watering burgers that you can customise yourself!! Do like pickles?? Don't had them! Love cheese??? There's a couple types! Add them all!!!!! And of course a side of onion puffs!!

Burger was really good albeit big enough it was difficult to eat at the start! Onion puffs were delicious and the sweet potato wedges are excellent. Overall a great meal.

Nice big meatballs, juicy burgers and delicious salads. I'll be back!

Burgers are great, even the smaller ones are a good and generous portion, their ingredients are fresh and tasty. Thin fries are crispy. They offer a great range of sauces. Delivery is fast and friendly, easy to order from a website or phone. Food is individually packaged and arrived hot. Great service, great food, good prices!

Oh dude, the burgers. It's been awhile since there was anything good to order outside of Panned Pizza in our area, but these guys are a new favorite. Awesome service, Great food. Fries were forgotten in our order when they delivered the first time around, so we called and let them know. Ten minutes later the delivery guy was back with very hot, very fresh fries that tasted amazing and two free desserts as well. Really impressed and will be back.

A good variety of burgers, with gluten free and vegetarian options. Many optional extras mean you can get something new and tasty everytime. There are many good sides (including my favourite sweet potato fries), a meatballs menu, and an alright selection of beverages.

The decor is quite comfortable, staff are VERY helpful and the burgers are DELICIOUS! Literally the best vegan burger I have ever had, right on chapel st! The price is modest and even with a tonne of extra toppings the burgers were still standard price! Thank goodness for that <3 Babu for life

Great to have in or take away. Extremely high value for money. This is what burgers are supposed to taste like! They also serve beer and have their own cider. I only wish their selection of sauces were larger, as I'm getting a bit bored of the standard three...

Slightly confusing menu here and hard to decide exactly what to get. Reasonable burger but choose wisely as we didn't and found our burgers not bad but not tasty. Maybe we need guidance. Unusual beers to try.

Came here sunday evening. Very casual set up, wish it was warmer though!! Service is friendly. I ordered the mushroom Burger (comes with beef patty with mushrooms on top) which was an open burger. The Pattie was super delicious- juicy, pink and full of flavours. You could also make your own burger if you do not want go with their options. Very flexible menu. Chips were crispy and soft on the inside.. however they were average. Good beer options too. Overall a great burger place.

Really really good burger! I just added cheese to mine and had it cooked medium. Very juicy and tasty. The sweet potato fries were AMAZING. Will definitely order from here again, delivery was 10 minutes early as well.

Awesome burgers and good fries. Had the mushroom burger (not vegetarian, just has mushrooms as well as a beef pattie) and it was delectable. The fries were good, not excellent (which to me is preventing them from attaining a higher rating) but friendly service, a spacious dining setting and a very appealing selection of condiments, all work towards a fantastic dining experience.

My first experience where they serve burgers open. <br/><br/>To me it's a bit odd but the burgers we're excellent none the less. I had the 200g patty and added grilled mushrooms on mine. The bat-gf ordered a "no. 7" which is basically what I have but with a smaller patty. <br/><br/>Burgers were really good. I love the flexibility of what you can add to your burger and the complimentary sauces that accompany your meal. Even the done-ness of your patty is up to you. <br/><br/>On order was also a beef and veal meatballs with a creamy white sauce. It was good but the real highlight was the burgers. <br/><br/>I would love to visit again!

Great burger joint on Chapel and they are good quality burgers! Have a good list of beers to go with the burgers. Recommend this place for a casual catchup and soak the atmosphere on Chapel street

Amazing place and amazing staff. Went with family for dinner and the staff were really helpful and walked us through the menu and explained everything. Definitely going again soon.

I have always eaten this delivered to me and never been to the restaurant. I tell you what, for delivered food, it is pretty damn good.<br/><br/>The burger still tasted fresh and the chips were still hot.<br/><br/>Favourite part is the crispy bacon! Yum!

I love that I get to choose the size of the burger, love the fries and am minorly addicted to the pink mayonaise sauce that comes with the chips (although turns out it doesn't so so well in the burger, but that's on me). Def try the homemade cider with fresh ginger.

Nice restaurant with a nice variety of burgers. Not often do you come across a place that lets you choose your grade of meat from Well-Done to Medium Rare it's good to have that flexibility. The meat tasted very good as well with a large variety of "add-ons" including 4-5 types of cheese. Surprisingly filling as well.

I can't comment on the actual restaurant as we just had a meal delivered. Easy enough to order and pay (despite a slight glitch that meant my order didn't move to the "confirmation" stage on the site.....but I had an email saying I'd paid and confirmed?), and arrived hot and tasty. No estimate of time given, but hey it was quick so no complaints. We'll try it again as the burgers were good and the added things like avocado and feta were provided in decent amounts. Not life-changing, but a solid burger option in this area!! 😊

Unfortunately underwhelmed, despite the premises. Located in a great dining pocket Babu Bar Burger seems closed, but is not, in fact the sliding doors almost do not open and it sets people off as they assume that the place is not opened. <br/><br/>I walked im at lunch peak time and I was the only patron, after a good 5 minutes, the only wait staff member welcomed me and gave me a menu.<br/><br/>I have ordered the n.5 burger ($17.5) which it featured blue cheese (I am a big lover of the stuff) and for the price I was expecting fireworks. The burger came and it wasn't bad, but at that price you could have a massively delicious burger, chips and a drink (don't want to name them but you know who they are).<br/><br/>Having said so, give it a go as my case might have been just the rare exception :) I will come back to try more soon :)

Tasty burgers with freedom to customise. The great feature about this place is you'd pretty much create your own burgers from a long list of ingredients. There're also 3 sauces that they offer complementary with your order. We ordered two large patties cooked medium rare and really enjoyed them. The ingredients were also very fresh. The chips we tried were crunchy, not-oily, and well-salted.

The restaurant space lacks character, it feels like a big empty void with chairs. But the food is honest and decent, the burgers are made to order and you can tell the beef patty and other ingredients are fresh. I had a berry ice tea here which was terrible, I can't remember what brand it was but I would avoid the iced teas. I wouldn't say this place has the best burgers I've ever had, but I do like that it's plain simple food that doesn't leave you feeling greasy and gross.

There are so many new burger joints these days but these guys remain consistent with their patty. If you order a medium rare, you get a medium rare. Staff are great - very friendly and helpful. The kind that you wouldn't be afraid to complain to or return your food if it wasn't right. <br/><br/>What I love about the burgers here is the endless ways to customize it. For that reason you will always get what you feel like having. We had a 150g, 300g, meatballs, salad, chips and onion. What a feast!

Amazing burger bar! Came here on Friday night and the moment you walk in the service was on point. Super attentive and with a great attitude. Lots of different options for meat lovers or vegetarians. Highly recommend.

Try saying that name ten times in quick succession. Babu Bar Burger with Balls is a burger store with in that’s a build-your-own burger type of affair. My ex-flatmate constantly had this place for delivery and it might actually be the first time I could agree, as the design means you’d be less likely to end up with a soggy sandwich. The self-design does set you back somewhat as the cost of the ingredients does pile on.

Great burgers in town and now they've recently open up in Ormond. That is awesome! I love the variety on the menu and the flavours are pretty good.

My wife and I first came to Babu Burger  after trying many other places... It is the only one we have returned to. Everything is cooked to perfection, and the burgers are filling, not greasy and full of flavour along with a highly and easy customisation menu, brilliant work.

Now this place KNOWS how to do burgers. Hot damn. I came here every week when I worked around the corner. They're burgers are amazing, if you haven't been here yet, then get your ass down here and have some of their burgers, cause you're missing out!<br/><br/>ANYTHING with their maple bacon is a freaking god send. I usually get the No 2 or No 8. Both are so so good, that Camembert spot freaking on. The chicken is done so so right, nice and juicy, not overdone. you get a selection of their three sauces as well, slather that bbq on cause that stuff is goooood. I've been telling all my workmates about this place, the service is quick and friendly, burgers are a generous size, it's a bit of a struggle to fit into your mouth sometimes, but a messy burger is a good burger, especially if its dripping juices. <br/><br/>Don't just come for the burgers though, this place understands the meaning of chips done right too! I started off with the wedges, they're so good, but have the sweet potato wedges, OH MY GOD. I could eat these all night. Coming here, I was expecting some good chips as this place was a burger joint. There are two ways chips can really be, crunchy or soggy. Thankfully, these were in the former category which was a refreshing touch. Ordering the thin cut chips, I was expecting nothing short of MacDonald's-style chips, which as my profile picture suggests, I am very fond of. I think the only real difference between these chips and McDonald ones is the higher price - otherwise they are basically exactly the same. To their credit, there were a fair amount of sauces to choose from which was generous considering the rest of their menu is expensive. I've had better chips, but I've also had worse.

Had lunch here and was a quiet crowd for the time. Whilst there was nothing wrong with the burger, there was also no real wow factor about it either. The service was quick and nice. But the burgers wer very average for the price and we asked for medium well but came out well done. The chips are standard maccas chips but slightly higher in quality but hungry jacks has better chips atm. The only saving grace was the pink mayo and spicy bbq sauce which were pretty good. Wouldn't come back for the burgers but may consider the meat balls next time.

Babu is always a favourite with us. <br/>They have a GIANT list of yummy toppings and you can get creative and customise your burger.<br/> The staff are really helpful and knowledgeable and the atmosphere is friendly and laid back.<br/> + $3 happy hour!!! <br/>Best after work indulgence this side of chapel for sure :).

Quick stop in on the way to a party in the area. Take away 220g burger with added bacon and and swiss cheese. Take away requires you to assemble yourself, which is a good initiative to avoid a soggy burger. Stupid me however didnt realise i had to add sauces, so i through the bag out!!! The burger was still super tasty but i wish i couldve seen its full potential with the 3 sauces.

I love Babu burgers and the combinations they have, the fact that they are served in half so that the hot and cold elements are seperate is fantastic. The burger was cooked perfectly and the bun was light and fluffy, the order confirmation said that they would take 45 minutes but they were here with 30. <br/><br/>Also I was on crutches when the delivery driver arrived and he even brought it inside for me. Great place and great service.

Service is the highlight here. No matter how many times we visit Babu, we are met with staffs who take the time to ask whether we are clear on the ordering process and are more than happy to run everything through with us. We are a big fan on being able to customise our burgers and this is what draws us here. Other than the novelty of being able to customise your burgers, the burgers here are pretty standard. The taste and quality of the beef patties are on par with most burger joints in Melbourne but I personally would prefer the meat a bit more pink in the middle. Have yet to try their chicken burgers or meatballs, so I can't comment on those.

Amazing! Have been wanting to come here for a while and I'm so glad that I finally did. I shared a beef burger as well as a chicken burger. Both were super moist and juicy. Loved how you could customerise your own burger too. The sweet potato fries were yum as well as the lamb cigars. Definitely coming back again. 👌🏻

Big fan of this place. Love the way you can customise your own burger and it's obvious they use good quality beef. Choose from 150, 200 or 250 gm patties and the way you like it cooked. Then add your toppings (many options). I don't think the meat balls are quite as good or exciting.

Pleasant, relaxed atmosphere with great burgers served with terrific service - have always received good food and enjoyed ourselves here. <br/><br/>Tonight my wife and I took our relatives (cousin, husband and two kids) to Babu burgers and had a great time, as expected. We've been here numerous times before and never been disappointed - tonight was no different. The waiter and waitress were very friendly and courteous, explaining how the burgers worked to our relatives, who had never enjoyed the Babu experience before. They were in for a treat, and certainly loved it. The ambience was just right (retro music attuned to their taste, actually), and not too busy either, which made it easy to enjoy quiet conversation. The kids were also entertained by the retro Pacman arcade game in the diner. :)<br/><br/>Most of the table ordered the chicken burger, I personally enjoyed the Number 8 (beef burger with maple bacon and Camembert), which was brilliant, and everyone enjoyed their meals. The kids couldn't finish their meals, but were able to take the remaining portions home for later. <br/><br/>Not the cheapest meal in town, but definitely a great meal nonetheless. :)

Great option for delivery. I ordered the other night and the food was here in 10 minutes and every thing tasted amazing. the spicy BBQ sauce and rose mayonnaise is amazing on the burgers.

Has such potential to be great but flawed from as soon as it arrives. The fact that the burgers come dry unless you pay for a sauce or use one of the three free ones is crazy. I asked for my meat medium but came well done. Sweet potato wedges were good. <br/><br/>I just think if they didn't have the customised section and instead sold burgers that they recommended ....with sauce it would be one of the best.

Stepping away from the high-grease dude food style burger joints sprawling across the city, best friends Eyal and Ben established Babu Burgers (Bar Burgers) in 2012, to shake Melbourne’s burger scene by putting the choice back into the consumer’s hands and offering quality ingredients. Build your own burger delivery! I went with the 150gm patty topped with caramelised onion (excessive amounts), avocado, cheese, American mustard, aioli with the standard salad. It was delivered within 45 mins which is fine for a Friday night. The burger was fresh, juicy and massive once you put all the ingredients in. Minimum order of $30 isn't the greatest especially when ordering solo which means I also had a side of large chips with a number of babu dipping sauces, a can of coke and 450gm of Sticky date ice cream. I found it really hard to get my order up to the $30 and just ended up ordering a heap of stuff that was either more than necessary and wasted or saved for a later date! Fast delivery and friendly delivery staff which I love answering the intercom to hear "BABU" in a cheerful tone =)

Good decent burgers (good burger buns with 200g medium rare beef patties, maple bacon and Camembert cheese with extra mushrooms yummm), love their fries and the beef balls on rice with creamy mushroom sauce. Mostly I get delivery - quick and always on time and they deliver beers or wine as well.

I wanted burgers on the go because I had class so I dropped by Babu bar burger for take away burgers and we got this! It was like build-your-own-burger (pretty cute) and absolutely delightful. Firstly, the waiter/bar guy showed up how to order from their menu and have some recommendation, super friendly. The food didn't take too long around 10 mins or so, and all the sauces combined were awesome with the juicy burger. Huge portion and the buns were just right.

My husband really wanted a burger and I wanted something without meat. I had a look for veggie friendly burger joints and found this place. The staff were friendly and efficient. The food came out quick. There were so many options and even the bread was dairy free. I had a chickpea pattee with grilled eggplant, grilled mushrooms and caramelised onions. Prob the best veggie burger I've had to date. Chips were amazing too.

Meatballs and sauce are decent. The blooming onion was an interesting find on the menu. I found the burger to be quite dry and less flavoursome compared to some of their competitors nearby on Chapel Street.

Chicken, avo and Camembert burger is amazing! I'd continue to dine here just for that burger. Delivery is also super cute on a little bike and very efficient. Yummy chips too!

great burgers - but poor service unfortunately ruined the experience. It took a while to understand the concept of creating your own burger and the lady serving just expected to understand and was not patient or at all helpful.

The chicken meatballs with green sauce are the bomb, the number 8 burger is so good it's annoying, and the trifle is a little jar full of chocolate goodness

Great burgers!! Standard burger comes with salad so don't go too crazy thinking you only get meat (like I did the first time). Never get the well done, I always have meat well done but even this was too charcoal for me. The burgers when taken away come sensibly in two halves that you stack together.<br/>The bbq sauce that comes separate is really nice!<br/>Salads are a decent size. Balls came absolutely swimming in sauce. The included salad was a nice addition. Sauce was good but the balls were just ok and not that sizeable. So good if you want something a bit healthier. Fries are standard.<br/>The guys here are nice but it does take a little while to get your burgers. Also on delivery they don't accept the entertainment book voucher no matter how big your order :(

I would not recommend, unfriendly, took ages to be served and finally get two burgers. 🍔🍔 Expensive and burgers had no favour, it was like eating "soggy cardboard". I might have caught them on a bad day but at the prices charged I would not risk it again. 😕

Efficient service everytime, always comes within 20 mins of ordering! Great tasting and superbly satisfying burgers. The fact that they also deliver wine puts them at the top of my delivery list almost every weekend

Nice Burgers but way way overpriced

Be prepared for a long wait.... We waited for an hour and a half tonight for our burgers. Lovely staff and once served the burgers were very good, however I would've eaten anything having waited over an hour and a half for our food. Won't be coming back unfortunately.

Heavy burger. We didn't find this to be a great burger place. Sure, staff are friendly but we left feeling like we ate a heavy, fatty burger. It has some spice to it, cumin perhaps. Not my favourite.

It was very delicious:) both my sis and I like them very much. The patty is juicy with a lightly taste of cummin seed. The fries are very crispy. We specially like the sauce that they have provided-pink mayo and spicy BBQ. We used them in our burger and for the chips.<br/>We also love the quick delivery! Home Delivered Burger Heaven. There are a lot of ways a burger can go wrong between leaving a shop for delivery and being consumed, and Babu avoids all of them! <br/>Tree huggers are not going to love this but the packaging is just awesome! no sweaty wet buns or soggy chips, nothing but hot crispy fries and a proper juicy burger with a nice crusty bun (none of that brioche rubbish that seems to be the latest Melbfoodfad). <br/>Delivered still steaming hot in 35mins. Babu's fridge magnet is placed prominently and permanently on my fridge. Will be ordering again.

Yum Yum Yum!. Tried this place because we had an Entertainment voucher and so so happy we did :) <br/><br/>Waiting staff were polite, helpful and chirpy. Food was relatively quick for a Sunday afternoon, but most importantly, the burgers were delicious! Great patty, generous fillings - all good. Highly recommend for a burger fix. Growing up, I was never a fan of burgers. To some extent, I always thought that burgers are made from mystery meat or anything left over that you throw together. I've never known what a good burger was until I've been to Huxtaburger. Although, it is still arguable that Huxtaburger is the best, there are a lot of places popping up - like Babu for example. There are just 2 things I look for in a burger - the bun and the pattie. And this place wins hands down on the pattie area. The bun can be improved but overall, it's pretty good. P was very adamant that I come and try this place. When I looked at the menu, he told me that I should not order too many toppings with my burger and just to choose 1 thing and that 1 thing is cheese. Reallly well made gourmet burger. I gotta say very fast delivery and tremendous packaged burgers. I enjoy the burger patty it is great I get the 320 Gram real thick and quality minced steak has a subtle taste of chickpea, I also like the Brioche bun. Recommend this place but they are a bit on the pricey side.

Yummy!. I have had several burgers from both the South Melbourne and Windsor restaurants and thoroughly enjoyed them all. They have always been cooked as I've asked and are full of flavour. I also love their 'Babu' cider - refreshing and not too sweet! <br/>If you're looking for somewhere with fast service and tasty food, I would definitely recommend Babu!

Ordered takeaways from the sister outlet many occasions. Visited this outlet last week and the Babu experience never fails to impress. The burgers are just out of this world. Great taste, cooked to perfection, fresh salad, no long wait and just the best burger i have ever had. The staff are great and help you make your selection, so many options even for the fussy ones out there. Overall you just need to experience these burgers yourself.

So good!! I ordered a home delivery on line; My ETA was an hour; I called to confirm the time and staff in phone were super friendly.. Checked with the kitchen and my order arrived within 20 mins! and super fresh.. Had the 150gm burger with cheese and bacon; it was huge but I managed!. Chips still crunchy and hot; love the pink mayo.. First babu burger and first home delivery of a burger. The added bonus is ordering beer/wine delivery.. Worst burger I've ever eaten. Do not waste your money on this place. ordered the number 3 veggie burger take away, the bun was soggy and the burger was burnt. it can be tricky to cook through a veggie burger without burning the outside but it was just awful. do not recommend at all. the chips were ok but not worth it either

Overrated. Went to the North Melbourne store. Staff were friendly but food was lacking. Burger fell apart 3 minutes after getting it home. Fries were stale. <br/><br/>Hopefully just a one off experience but was not impressed.

YUM!. Had these on Saturday night after a boozy Grand Final day. I got the chicken burger with maple bacon added. It was one of the best chicken burgers I've had. The reason being is the two sauces sent with the burger that you can add/or not add. It takes the burger to a whole new level. Not to mention the addition of maple bacon!!! I wish there was one closer to me in Northcote!!

Sooo bad i laughed. Horrible burger. the onion was disgusting the bread was sugary, too sweet, almost like a cake. messy sloppy workers that are soo cool that they look down at you. and dont even bother cleaning the table from the previous customer.. i dont get the good rating

BRILLIANT! We ordered burgers for home delivery. I was sceptical because burgers can often be cold by the time they arrive at a table, let alone your house. They were PERFECT! I like mine med-rare; it was. The burger and base were served wrapped in card, with the top and salad next to it, ready to be put on top. So no soggy salad. Chips and wedges were superb. Meatballs also delicious. Highly recommended

Delicious!. Thought the food was really good!, meat in the burger is still kinda pink which is the way it should be, fries were yum (though for a large serving the tide was out a little) and their pink mayo is really tasty! highly recommend even if it's a little expensive.

BEST burgers!. We ordered three burgers and chips on a Sunday - they were absolutely delicious! A bit expensive but worth it and very filling. Love!

The meat is on the salty side..<br/>3. A bit too well done on everthing.<br/>4. Bun is average.<br/><br/>So overall score is 7/10. (Just)<br/>If you lower the price a bit then 7.5/10.<br/><br/>Unless the meat improves then you have to improve on the price.

Babu have Nailed the perfect burger - Big Juicy, freshly ground (none of that pre made store bought crap) Patties - cooked as you like, but if you have good taste Medium Rare is the way to go.<br/><br/>Great choice of Condiments to really build your own burger the way you like. How in Melbourne, can this place exist??. When Melbourne has so many great burger establishments, how in the hell can places like this exist!! I actually feel 110% violated by what was quite literally the worst experience I have ever had with a food establishment. <br/><br/>The burger was the best part of the meal and it was absolutely rubbish. $15 for that burger is beyond a joke. Overcooked beef, soggy bun, less than fresh ingredients accompanied by dry flavourless fries.<br/><br/>The real winner in all this was the dessert.....$9 for 3 arnott's biscuits with cream/custard between them and a single sour cherry (that is of course, assuming I was given what I ordered).<br/><br/>Seriously, over $70 to feed 3 people when the food is of a quality that low is robbery. <br/><br/>Save your money, go to the supermarket and make the burgers yourself. It will be so much better (even if you are the type of cook that burns toast).

Babu burger is the bee's knees. We got the works delivered. Complementary desserts and awesome burgers. Overall I would give it a 9 out of 10.

Best burgers!. I have been here twice with two groups and friends, and each time we love it! Their pink mayo is the best. Great value for money and short wait for food. Really great customer service too. Will definitely be going back for a third time!

So glad we took a voucher in today. Really glad we did not pay full price for such an underwhelming burger. Over cooked dry pattie full of horrible seeded mustard. Was asked if we enjoyed and let them know. They had no real reply. Certainly would never recommend nor would we return.

An instant fave.... In a part of town that certainly isn't short of places to get a good burger, Babu is the one the beat. The beef burger with maple bacon and camembert that I ordered was the best burger I've had in recent memory; perfectly cooked, great flavour and generously sized. Staff were friendly and, overall, I found it good value considering the quality was so high. Will definitely be back.
