Review School Of 7 Bells - Windsor

Great coffee and quick and friendly service ⭐️
Marina
Great coffee, chill atmosphere and friendly staff. The bacon and egg was good.
Mike Jones
Great coffee. Food, not so much. Very small serving of egg. Bacon tasted like it had been reheated and toast didn't come buttered. Friendly people, but there are better options on chapel.
Vangelis Stama
I'm rating the coffee here. This used to be the best coffee in the St Kilda/Windsor/Prahran area but then it went severely downhill. Not sure what happened or whether it was due to the many lockdowns during COVID but it was a source of great disappointment because the coffee was literally a religious experience of enlightenment each time I drank it. However, I recently gave it another go and... it's back! I swear I could smell nirvana in the coffee aroma, I could taste nirvana drinking the coffee and I felt nirvana as my mind scrambled to grasp the incredible sensations of coffee at School of Seven Bells. Come here for a religious coffee experience!

What an amazing place with great food, coffee and ambience! Will definitely come back ✨
Ben
Good coffee and friendly service.
Sacha H
Nice staff. Good fair prices. Some odd people and homeless outside sometimes can annoy you if you sit outside though, so as a lady I feel safer sitting inside. Also some customers sit outside smoke right next to the Cafe with the smoke blowing over you. If the staff could fix the issues outside could be much better. Keep children inside for this reason also.
Paul Hodgkiss
Always super friendly Nice brew too 🚨Good for Emergency Almond Croissants 🚨
Leon Martin Nathan
Food was good, coffee is like wayyyy better than alot of places along chapel. Good portion sizes, simple menu. Pricey, so they better be paying their Friendly staff WELL!!! the tattood dude is awesome. Defo recommend.
Campbell Morath
Had an amazing experience here today! By far the best coffee I've ever tasted!! Lovely staff, great food, and the sun on my back! Would absolutely recommend this place!
Myquaila Carter
We wanted coffee and brekkie and were told to sit down as there was table service. The waitress came out 3 times, to clear tables and drop off coffee to other tables without even acknowledging us. Then she went and served people who arrived after us, without even looking in our direction. My other half had been making eye contact with her and trying to get her attention. Just not good enough. We left straight away and went another cafe.

Excellent food coffee and service can’t ask for much more than that! A great Melbourne brekky experience!
Julie Anne Bailey
Friendly and attentive staff.. good size serving of breakfast for price. Amazing cured salmon and coffee
Cheryl Lardner
Dreadful - service and food. Such potential but clearly under poor management.
Chace Harty
Excellent Staff, Excellent Coffee and Excellent food! Best cafe vibes between the yarra and the bay!

Parichat Tantaropas
i love hot chocolate here but i never pay the same price sometimes $4 sometimes $4.50 today I paid for $4.50 and got a small size
Elise Foley
A++. Original menu full of super healthy options. Beautifully executed food. And the staff. I want to hug all of them. It was like visiting old friends. To top it all off, they play chilled minimal trance. SO7B, I think I love you <3
Leah Dangersmith
Wicked coffee and good breakfast. Fast service too for takeaway which is nice
Maayan Duchess Zikaras
One of the best coffees I have ever had ☕️☕️☕️
Dijana Moisis
Love the food, LOVE the coffee and really friendly service. But lately, despite asking for no sugar, you have been putting sugar in my coffee, perhaps worried about the bitterness of a triple shot? Don't worry, I can handle it. What I can't handle is how ill the sugar makes me feel. Honour the order. We know how we like it and we can tell when it hasn't been made as asked. Other than that, awesome little place.
Teri Watts
Amazing! These guys Never fail to satisfy my coffee cravings.
Tanya Poggenpoel
Love the coffee. Love the service even more. Awesome little place.
Ca Ro
Nice place and nice team who wakes me up every morning with a Mocha! Merci beaucoup et à bientôt!
Renee Dunbar
Cute boys work here and they know how to make coffee ;)
Cat Su Don
Dear 7 bells. Shot for the mean hospitality over the week and thanks for putting with me and my mate being stains on the deck, you're all gcs. Church co! Tai
Donna Geben Sheiman
Fantastic coffee!! And brekky and service! Love waiter Justin!
Gordon Fraser
Great all day breakfast makes really good tea !
Robert Beanham
Great little place awesome hot chocolate and groovy chick barrister
Philip Meyers
Disappointed to see a staff member calling for the rape of children! No matter how angry or frustrated one is over something, that kind of behavior is the most disgusting display of human nature I can imagine. I could never eat in a place with staff like that.

I've been intermittently vising this place since it opened, and it's really hit or miss. I went on the weekend and the poor waiter just looked fed up. He was impossible to squeeze a smile from, and really didn't want to be there. The acai bowl was okay. Too much fruit that wasn't fresh for my liking, though. My friend's tofu scramble was the saddest, greyest, most unappealing dish I've ever seen. He asked for the coleslaw to be placed to the side and it was put on a separate plate, and apparently inedible due to the amount of sriracha on it. Overall, it was mostly miss this last time. I think I might give it a permanent miss henceforth.
Kirsty Haggerty
This cafe is not too far a walk for me and it has nice coffee. The muffins and pastries also looked very nice. I’ll have to go back for breakfast at some point.
Eliza Elliott Durrell
Had hash stack, felt like I was gonna have a heart attack. Loved it. Five stars. 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 nomnomnomnomnomnomnomnomnomnomnomnom I like eggs

After recently starting a new job in Windsor, I wanted this to be my new local as it's spacious and convenient. Unfortunately the customer service has been below average each time I've been there (at least 6 times). The females working there always act like they're slightly bothered by your presence and rarely look you in the eye. Although the coffee is nice, I will be trying somewhere else from now on.

This rating is based on my many coffee experiences from School of 7 bells. As a loyal follower of Franklin, I never crossed the road to get my coffee here. Big mistake.....
I have had over 100 coffees here and have had, perhaps, one 'ordinary one'. Even when I see a line of people waiting and I know I may miss my train, I sigh, wait and line and order. Yes, it's that good. Great staff as well...
Having never eaten there I can't rate the food. On the 'to do' list & will update once I have crossed off.

Strategically located ...

Above the entrance of Windsor station ... indoor snd outdoor seating area ... rendition of Middle Eastern interior ...

8/10 $4.00 latte, a combo of custom painted Slayer and Artful Dodger coffee beans.

Young, pleasant, cool and attentive barista on that Slayer ... thank you. JT-27/04/2018.

Ordered coffee (latte) and poke bowl. out of single origin. Crowded house playing. Good vibe. Unusual coffee roast (penny box) good flavour, and balance, not too weak or acidic. makes a nice change from the stock coffees in so many cafés (ie chocolate notes, medium roast). All good, despite the grumpy waitress with the top knot & ripped jeans. maybe the Melbourne 'having a really bad day' attitude is a perk. prefer it to fake cheerful. First prize is real & cheerful. would rate it 3.5 but not possible with this wretched new rating system
Ethical Hedonist
Went here for brunch yesterday morning and although they were already sold out of a lot of items, the selection was still good. I ended up getting the Brazilian açaí bowl and was not disappointed. It tasted just like how they do it in Brasil! The decor was warm and inviting. I was advised that they are currently going through a menu change, so I'll definitely be back to try the new options!
April_eats
Very friendly and quick service. Nice seats outside in the sunshine! Menu was going through a change over so some items were not available, we were told this at the beginning so not a big issue, plenty of other things to choose from and a nice specials board.
Lovely matcha latte!
Had the brioche French toast and added a side of bacon, flavours were nice but presentation could have been better, large plate made the portion seem small. Multigrain toast with peanut butter was nice too.
Really nice server helped us split the bill which was great!
Great location and nice vibe, will be back again one day!
Hungry Little Dinosaur
Food was well presented and tasted amazing. Those roti tacos were incredible! Will definitely return but cleanliness and service was a bit lacklustre.
Simmyeats.Melb
I've walked past this cafe hundreds of times and today decided to try their coffee. The actual fit out doesn't look as nice as some of the other cafes down Chapel st but nevertheless I wanted to try the coffee. My latte was nice and well balanced and I'd definitely come back. The staff were all lovely and it was nice to be greeted with smiles from them.
TillyEats
School of 7 Bells, sharing the same name as the mythical school in Colombia that teaches children to pickpocket. The final exam being the thieves are faced with a teacher in a suit, lined with pockets and rigged with seven bells. The thieve’s have to pick the suit clean without ringing a single bell and if they fail… i’ll leave that up to your imagination.
Macarena Misterio
Cool funky and casual style, the food is big portions and the price is good around $30 for a brunch. I got the chorizo and eggs brunch and freshly squeezed orange juice.
Jean
This place makes fantastic coffee and amazing breakfast. Only disadvantage is the lack of seating or even comfortable seats due to how busy they get, testament to how great they are though! Amazing service too so hoping it lasts a while despite the high turnover in Windsor!
RacAttack
Legit the best take away coffees. Always perfect temperature, super smooth milk and awesome service. The legends that work here are always so happy you can't help but smile.
Good Food Good Mood
It was only a matter of time before someone thought to put smashed avo on roti bread and man was that a mound of smashed avo. The portion was so generous the ratio to bread was off. Not much more to say decor a little nondescript vibe a little meh. With so many amazing places to eat up the Windsor end of chapel I'm not sure I'd return but equally no real complaints
Matt Tehan
I've just moved into the area and my girlfriend and I were hungover and on the hunt for a feed this morning. The breakfast food is great, coffee is great and the staff are really friendly. Perfect place to nurse a Sunday hangover!
Brekky
Loved the coffee so much last time we came again. The second batch sits in the bin round the corner.
Coffee tastes like dish water & will be looking for another place that can deliver after a long ass wait
Kenny Khamly
At the recommendation of a friend, came here for lunch. Starting with my normal coffee and it was good. It was perfect temperature and strength and aroma. It has got me wondering what is the beans they are using. For food, I went for sliders; fried chicken and BBQ pulled pork and I have to say.. Delicious. The service is friendly and very attentive and fast. If you are in Windsor, good place to drop for a good coffee and food.
Vivi Wulansari
Visited on the weekend, they have good coffee!! I ordered a soy latte and it was delicious!! Not the usual cafe style that I'd visit, it was highly recommended by a friend. The food was delicious too as well as fresh and tasty. Friendly staff is a plus. Apparently they have the best avocado. I'll have to come back to try it!
Laura
My husband was well looked after with amazing gf bread, sausage and chorizo... my porridge on the other hand was a mixture of sugar and dirt taste.... lovely coffee, atmosphere and staff though!!
Restaurant Rescue
I've been coming here for a while now and this is my review. The team are outstanding, every single team member in their. The food is of a relatively strong standard, always well packaged and presented. The staff always bend over backwards to please and nothing is ever an issue. You guys are super. Thank you for your hospitality.
Tardar Sauce
Funky little cafe Windsor end of Chapel St. I like that there's no minimum for EFTPOS and they don't charge extra for using EFTPOS under $10 like a lot of cafes these days. The coffee was surprisingly very good! Had a quick look at the menu and looks worth trying. Will be back and will update my review. Stay tuned!
Hungry Ronin
Unpretentious and understated. Some cafes may not grace your Facebook newsfeed via Urban List or Broadsheet articles. Some just go about their business. And deliver. 7 Bells pleasantly suprised me with its eloquent dishes of cured salmon with fennel salad, which was balanced and beautifully plated. Cutting a piece of my friends dish of steak sandwich also proved that someone at the back know what they're doing. Marry that up with solidly executed lattees and macchiato you've got a place with should perhaps be talked more.
FoodHedonist
The only thing i liked about this place was coffee and set up. I guess the set up attracted me to try this place.

It's got a bit of a hipster vibe which is refreshing in this part of the city, but that's about it. Boring menu and average food.
Julia Eats Melbourne
Awesome allergy tolerant bircher muesli (gluten/dairy free) and nice smooth coffee. Good atmosphere. Nothing more to say, I will return!
Patersani
Ding dong the coffee is dead. Travelled in here for brunch on the long weekend. Decided upon the Benedict with a croquette of sweet potato and pea, which was a great combo and something suprisingly light for a Benedict. Loved the food, hated the coffee. I usually am a forgiving coffee drinker but this lacked everything, taste, hit, warmth.
Mark Strathmore
Lively barista and a good vibe from the staff. Coffee was awesome and both meals we ordered were great (stuffed French toast and the chili baked beans breakfast). Nice!
Amy Whitfield
I'm clueless about this end of Melbourne, but I stumbled upon perfect espresso so conveniently outside Windsor station on Chapel. Baristas were friendly and hilarious and their new blend which "tastes like Melbourne" had that honey-like mouth feel so smooth and a little syrupy I love for my first shorty of the day. Thanks for the pleasant start to Thursday legends!
The New Fave
I really wanted to like School of 7 Bells, like really, really! With its incredibly attentive and friendly staff, trendy vibe and mouth wateringly looking menu, this cafe located next to door to Windsor Station surely had to be hit?! But unfortunately the food didn't quite hit the mark. Back to the positives for a moment - the staff truely were an attribute to the cafe. Full of smiles - they were a refreshing start to an otherwise fragile Sunday morning (they also get brownie points for taking my coffee order within seconds of me sitting down!). The venue itself is a mixture of indoor and outdoor seating - great if you want to enjoy your breakfast in the sunshine.
Babybean
Absolutely fantastic coffee. The best Almond Milk flat white I've had in Melbourne. Fabulous service.
Will return to try the food and more coffee!!!
Davros
Coffee was good but the staff think it's ok to play crap music so loud you can't converse. Chorizo tasted cheap and $4 for 4 mushrooms that tastes like a cheap fry up was a bit on the nose for me. Won't be back.
J0rdz
Horrible coffee. My partner and I got take-away long-black's on a Saturday around 4pm. Service was friendly and very quick, but the coffee was burnt, watery and tasteless and not evenly measured. One cup was full, whilst the other had only half as much. At $3.80 each, I was expecting much better quality.
Nikki Graham
Stopped here for a quick coffee. Absolutely fantastic staff, everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Great coffee and an even better music playlist.
Bluebear1111
Amazing food and amazing service !

Always make a detour when I have a few spare minutes to pick up the best Acai bowl going around!
Want something different for breaky ? I dropped in for a sit down breaky and ordered their sweet potatoe and quinoa hash stack.
It was amazing. Highly recommended !
Michien0307
Pretty average, had to change dish as 1st was like slop. Banana smoothie was ok. Pork belly was nice. Outdoor seating is good. Service friendly.
Foodnique
These guys know how to make a person feel welcome! Everyone should learn from them, bright, cheerful & friendly greetings before you even walk in make all the difference. The coffee is good and the food is tasty, its one of those menus that you literally have to come back to try each dish because they sound so interesting. Its a small space inside, the decor suits the place, i love the gold painted bricks.
Alanna Chloe Grossman
Absolutely delicious avo on toast with amazingly friendly and fun staff! Went there for brekkie and was pleased beyond belief! Great experience!
J_cinta
The friendliest group of staff you'll ever meet! :) not forgetting their great coffees and toasties (ask for a cheese and tomato relish - best) If you feel like a coffee or just a friendly chat head over there!
Sarah.preston
A lovely sunday morning brunch. It started with the weather being awesome, then the coffee was awesome, then our waitress Naomi was awesome and to top it off our food was awesome. Get to this place if you want an awesome day!!!
Fluorescent Adolescent
I absolutely love this place. The staff that work here provide some of the friendliest service I've honestly ever received, amazing coffee and the sandwiches they have in the glass shelves change every day and are always fantastic. Am yet to try anything on the dine in menu as I always just pop in quickly on my way to work to grab something on the go, but have flicked through it and it makes my mouth water. Will definitely come in on a day off to sit and eat for sure. Oh, and everything is so reasonably priced. It's such a great place.
Chad Douglas
Went in there over the weekend for a quick Bite and a coffee. Great service the food was excellent ( love the wagyu burger !). The chef with the Tatts is Sooo sexy
Shauna
These guys do seriously great coffee. Dog friendly too. good heaters and sheltered comfy outdoor area. best coffee this side of town for sure.
Alex Daniel
Delicious and generous. Went for a late breakfast, place was busy, staff very accommodating. Few minutes wait for a table but that was fine, nice atmosphere to wait in. Coffee was spot on, had the good ol eggs Benedict, really yum with generous portions of bacon and crunchy sourdough. Highlights include the friendly staff, coffee and atmosphere. Perhaps a little slow if you're in a hurry, luckily I wasn't.
Hungry_A
Rude Barista, Won't Be Back.. Have been here many times before for takeaway coffee but was appalled by the customer service received today. Barista tried to charge me $7.50 for a small dirty chai (chai latte with coffee shot). When I queried the price (have only ever paid at the MOST $4 in other cafes) the barista rudely told me I would have to pay $4 for the chai latte and $3.50 for the extra shot of coffee. Canceled my order and won't be back. Have also never been a fan of the fact that customers are allowed to smoke at the tables in the undercover area right next to the takeaway window but put up with it in the past for the good coffee. But there are far too many other places in Windsor that have great coffee, lovely service and won't charge you for 2 beverages instead of one.
Marat
Good coffee, great muffins. I am yet to have a breakfast there but I've been there several times for their coffee and a couple of times had their fresh muffins. All of them were great. The coffee is made well... above average for a Melbourne coffee and the muffins are always large and fresh. Having it eat-in will get it served with a side of fresh butter... yum!
Rose
Great service and food. Today I had a great experience. I have some dietary restrictions and the staff went out of their way to meet my needs. I was very impressed and satisfied. I had the eggplant pizza which was devine and didn't have a pizza base - it had an eggplant base - you have to ask.
Issydimmmma
From a regular customer. Great atmosphere, staff are super friendly and attentive. I've become a regular here and the Loose Leaf Chai Latte's are one of the best I've had. I can't understand why this cafe only has 75% rating, it should have more. The food isn't even that expensive, I think it is fairly priced for a cafe on the Windsor side of Chapel Street. The staff are also always keen to have a conversation with you and there is always a place for you to sit. I recommend this place to everyone.
Vegan Llama
These guys went out of their way to go through vegan options with me. They cater for the vegan, vegetarian and raw crowd. I was really impressed that the manager was willing to change where possible to make me a vegan option. The chia porridge was just delicious and I would recommend this place for us fussy or intolerant! Thank you School of 7 Bells for making my visit so lovely.
Richard
Wonderful! Really good coffee by people who know how. Food as menu suggested with friendly efficient staff. Highly recommended. Coffee n Cakes amazing
Taran Singh
Tried breakfast today at school of 7 bells- coffee and juice was good. The food was of good proportion but definitely overpriced in my opinion. Service was okay but by the reviews I've read so far, it seems to be a hit or miss.
Tim Meade
The food was excellent - scr.... The food was good enough - scrambled eggs with cherry tomatoes and spinach with avocado and feta smash, a side of black pudding. Its presentation however was awful one slice of black pudding sat sadly alone on a plate. The barista might be well advised not to relate inappropriate stories to other staff members which can be heard by customers.
Linda
Definitely not as good as artful dodger or whyte cafe, service lazy and food average.
Ash Williams
Stopped in to kill some time and have a couple of coffees. Friendly staff, excellent coffee (short black with their snuff box blend is a very light and clean tasting drop) and great music.
Liz
Nice staff, good location and a stunning breakfast. I will return.
Tye Embree
The Amazing staff are intoxicating!! The Lil frenchy minx waitress sure knows how to serve up some sausage!! The hunky Irish gluten intolerant barista really pounds back a extra foam latte like nobody's business. The way the staff handle and minipulate my custom breakfast every morning.... Send shivers down my spine and really tingles my lower chakra!!
Sam David
Love. I adore this place. The staff take pride in their work, the food is outstanding and the interior design is cutting edge. Feels like the best of Melbourne when you're in the joint. Coffee is out of this world, probably some of the best in the world! Would happily highly recommend to anyone. Don't miss out trying this place. You'll be happy you did !
Steve
Best coffee on chapel st! It's cute and quirky the staff are passionate about their coffee, I love the cold drip especially now it's coming into summer. The girls on the weekend are beautiful and fun, and one always remembers our order. we always feel welcome when we come here.
Melinda
Best coffee on chapel street!!

I'm a typical Melbourne coffee snob and can I say 7 bells exceeded my expectations. The breakfast menu is simple but well priced and tasty. Definitely a place to add to your eating list!
Dan Magee
Rude staff and below average food. Pretty sure my omelette was microwaved because they refused to add bacon to it and it came out rubbery even before the coffee had arrived.
Fish
Hipster. I had driven past this cafe many a time and always meant to get down for a visit. Finally I got there and it was well worth the wait. It is a cosy little cafe that has been fitted out perfectly. Seating both inside and out (heating included) work well. We were greeted by some friendly staff and took up our stools at the window bench. Coffee orders taken and then we were left to peruse the menu. I was drawn to the Acai Berries straight away. This was topped with some of the best granola I've tasted, strawberries and I added a side of natural yoghurt. It was a generous size and I would definitely recommend it to any muesli lover out there. The coffee here also gets a tick. I can see myself venturing back here before long!
Jamie
A classic little cafe with a very Windsor-ish decor, great atmosphere, friendly staff, lots of healthy menu options and awesome coffee. I've been there a few times for breakfast and would definitely recommend either the acai muesli (although it can be a bit sweet), the brekkie taco and the avo on toast.
Travis
My new favourite breakfast spot. Great coffee, great food, great staff. I love it
Sam Pearson
We disagree about the bad service comments. All the team are great when we visit, especially Nikita with her efficiency and great smile. Clients are acknowledged on arrival, menus come quickly as does the perfect coffee. What more to you want in a Cafe.
Melina
Bad customer service. Was walking past and a seat became available outside so i decided to stop have and coffee and read the paper. the waiter was not very friendly didn't smile nothing. sat and drank my coffee read a little bit. a couple turned up and the waiter looked over at me as if i was just wasting a table, wasting space. i wanted to order a pot of tea but no one had approached me and no one had came close enough for me to ask. i choose to leave asked the unfriendly waiter where i should pay and vaguely told me "there" not even looking at me to busy greeting his friends that had walked up. the only saving grace was the barrista that put my transaction through. he was very lovely. however will never stop there again. what a turn off my waiter was!!
Greg Delta
Coffee was excellent. Food was OK but portions a bit on the smaller side. Service was terrible but it was a busy Sunday. Would definitely go for coffees again but if was eating would plan for a less busy time of day.
Dutchie
Their coffee definitely wakes you up and is nice and smooth. I recommend the unique soft tacos!! Fresh and just enough to get you on your way for the day ahead. Don't walk past. You'll reget it.
FueledbyFood
Great spot on Chapel St, but terrible coffee.
Derekandroll
Breakfast Burrito....that is all!

Coffee is always of good standard and the staff are pleasant.

Can quite crowded and when this is the case food service can be a bit slow, but hey on a Saturday morning who is moving to fast anyhow.
Coffee_cherry
Coffee was amazing, service was really good except the staff looked like she had just woken up & thrown on whatever was on her floor. Food was tasty, but lite on the toppings on the banana bread- ricotta & orange segments but there was only 4 segments & my friend had the pancakes which was lite on the pear :( good pricing & great atomosphere
Mez Fisher
Terrible experience, coffee ok... But Waited so Long to order and then they told us two things were unavailable. Go to the supermarket and get the ingredients if you run out! Then waited 40mims for ordinary food. Not returning
Kate Wilkinson
Service a bit hit and miss. I was ignored by two staff this morning then once had placed my coffee order it took a long time so I missed the train. Coffee is good though.
Kevin M
Slow coffee service, ordinary menu and blasphemous over cooked poached eggs!
Kat King
Super tasty and super cheap. Great little local
Ety
Tho the menu looked ok after waiting a significant amt of time to place an order we were then told that all of the items we were interested in were unavailable ... What a waste of time .. Why is it so difficult to get reasonable service .. If items r no longer avail then say so when giving us the menu not when we are trying to order ... Had our coffees put into take away cups n left .. Not going back ..
Leaanne1
Grumpy. Was expecting something special- waiting 35 minutes for my coffee did not impress me. Staff didn't care. Music way too loud for 9.30 am . Very disappointed and wont be returning.
Kaka
Terribly slow and clumsy service. Rude and unaccommodating staff! Even worse was the arrogant man who introduced himself as the owner of all people. Horrible experience! Won't be back
KRS
Slow service with no smiles whatsoever. Slightly arrogant service. VERY loud music. Ran out of Fetta by 9.30am and only poach eggs but can't scramble??? Don't bother or go back Elsternwick where the real people are.
CJ
Lovely café with awesome music. The waitresses are smily and happy to tell you wht their favourites are. That's how I ended up having the very tasty brazilian granola. My friends were happy with their (big) taco, posciutto salad and coffee. They also have a large choice of teas. And come on! They're not slow, believe me!
Orerocks
Sloooooowwwwww. The good: Great menu, good coffees, nice atmosphere. Food pretty good (but very hard toast)
The bad: really, really slow. The waiter forgot to take our order, he served several tables that arrived long after us. Then only one of our two dishes came out. After several checks we were about to leave 25 minutes after the first dish arrived, when the second finally showed up.
CoffeeCafeTime
Great service, nice food & fantastic coffee. We'll be back :-)
BiteMe
Brillant. Went to the new-kid-on-the-block; The School of 7 Bells today with high hopes that this place would do well. (I am a regular at the Elsternwick cafes with the same owner)
The atmosphere is amazing - you can tell a huge amount of time and effort has gone into the design - it feels like the place has a history to it even though its just opened - unique artwork is everywhere including the bathrooms, you honestly cant stop looking around to see what your eye will catch next.

Coffee - Long mac: strong and bold flavor and quick to come out
Food: I had the breakfast taco - delish but slightly hard to eat
Menu has the classic eggs on toast with condiments but a range of uniqu meals are availbale including banana and cranberry loaf with riccotta and orange segments, a breakfast salad of prosciutto, bococcini and poached eggs, museli, and a series of sandwiches all available as takeaways. Also two nice sounding salads. :)

One downfall was the food took its time coming out on a day when it wasn't very busy but otherwise the place looks and feels pretty awesome. I will be returning soon....
