Review The Wolf And I - Windsor

James Lovery (internet_james)
Nice little bar in the heart of Melbourne’s favourite bar district. Drinks are a little pricey, but you’ll find a good space to relax, take a seat if needed, or hop up by the DJ for a boogie. Relaxed vibe where you can definitely have a conversation if you pick your spot.
Kurt Hansen
The food was amazing and and cooked to perfection! The special had sold out (for good reason) but gave me a great alternative! The waiter was 10/10 probably the better one on chapel! Only issue I had was the guy at the front was a little rude. Great venue tho, will return
Victoria Travel
Beautiful Sunday roast, friendly staff, live bands on Sunday and plenty of seating outside and in the sun. Can't go wrong for a chilled drink or group dinner with friends.
Tony Matthews
If you’re going for then roast on Sunday then go early as they often run out! Had the steak and chips instead which I really enjoyed.
Arnaud Charlier
Probably one of the best steak night of all pubs around. Very well priced, good portion, delicious chips and cooked as requested. Very limited wine by the glass to accompany the food though.
Holly Maynard
great moody atmosphere at the back, parma and espresso m. were yum!
Richard Helliar
Absolutely appalling. We paid $30 for a gnocchi that was enough to just feed my 4 year old niece. When we have feedback, both the bar staff and supervisor were dismissive and didn’t seem to care we were unhappy. Disgraceful service
Henrique Bauermann
Not a safe place for the LGBTQ+ community. I was physically abused by the security for no reason after he didn’t let me go back in the venue when he saw me with my boyfriend. I was coming in and out of the venue the entire night as they asked me to do in order to smoke. Securities were treating me kindly until they saw me with my partner. With sarcasm the security told me to leave, I questioned the reason twice and got no response (which didn’t surprise me as I gave him no reason). I told him “I’m going to leave and speak to the manager tomorrow, I just want to know your name”. The response I had was “Just remember my number, 045”. He grabbed me from my neck and threw me on the floor. I had to go to the hospital, had to do x-rays, had bruises, lost days of work and mentally I was even worse. I contacted the venue SIX times and they never contacted me back, not a call, no support at all. I’m writing this a month after the event because the feelings and the pain didn’t go away. It was traumatic.

I really enjoyed this place very nice ambience and helpful staff also they have plenty of options on tap but for me Scorcher Summer Ale was the best, Cheers !!

Great food, friendly staff would definitely recommend

First time there on NY's Eve ! Great food &ere friendly staff. Also security were friendly &s not over the top. Thumb up all round...
Audrey Pearce
This was my first visit and I found the staff to be both friendly and helpful. The steak was well cooked as was the rest of the meal. An enjoyable evening.
Donna Coster
Had an enjoyable meal, reasonable price with daughter and her partner, excellent service my steak was tasty but cooked slightly over for medium rare. Nice atmosphere, a bit noisy at 9pm to have a conversation, only down side.
Bogart Gray
Always a great place to go. Good food, good beer, good service, good sports screens and always made to feel at home and welcome.
Robbie Lockett
Become a little bit of a regular, found the staff extremely welcoming particularly the manager who greats us always with a lovely smile and bubbly personality. They even threw in a free plater for us when our first order got lost! Great smiles all round! Will be back for Thursday night Parma night!!
Linda Hardner
Stopped in for a drink waiting for our table at Fonda. Service was good, good place for a drink. Right in the middle of everything. Gas the women's AFL first game on so all good.
Mark Elyoughon
Awesome little pub! Ticks all the boxes. Had some beers and a steak which was spot on. Met the owner, real nice guy. He shouted me a beer as I said I was visiting from Sydney. Love the old school hospitality, couldn't of done it better myself
Andy Scholz
Never ever eat here - ordered chicken Parma which came out undercooked, asked for a new item in replacement which after 20min never came out. Apparently their new kitchen is to blame. Money returned, mouthful of raw chicken eaten, still hungry. Shit service, shit food
Travis McDonnell
The music is way too loud to have conversation. Where is the acoustic guitar
Elizabeth Dodd
Had a couple of steaks here last week. I thought the meat was 'ok' - nicely chargrilled but bland. The mash was awful - lumps of uncooked potato and no seasoning. Doubt I will be back, and even though I chose it, read 'not much other choice', I thought the combination a bit weird: steak, lumpy mash, cold cooked half of tomato, weird tasting mushrooms and gravy. very expensive for a 2 bit mixed grill.

Good place and great selection of beers

Meal: Dinner <br/><br/>Ordered: Chicken Parma<br/><br/>On a cold Melbourne night, we caught up with some friends and all of us decided to go with the Aussie favourite, the chicken Parma! Good sized Parma with chips and salad leaves (could have been a bit better, like a salad) and kept us full. The Parma was a bit salty but overall not too bad. Beers were good to! Def check out this place if you are in the Windsor area!
Daniele Zarosinski
Came here for the $18 steak night. It doesn’t state it but it does come with the red wine jus as the sauce OR any of the other sauces for an additional $2. We stuck with the red wine jus which was delicious and great for dipping the chips into. <br/><br/>Steak was perfectly cooked and quite filling. You definitely get your money’s worth. <br/><br/>Staff were friendly and attentive to requests. We were able to add on drinks to the tab after having ordered food. This made it easier to keep on drinking while dining. <br/><br/>Would definitely come again to try out other foods on the menu.

The wolf and I is my local bar to go to and I’d never eaten there before. I ordered the chicken parma and it was delicious. I went with a friend who’d had the parma before, apparently it about half the size it used to be, so he was a little disappointed. Overall, nice bar and decent bar food. I would of given this place 3.5 stars but Zomato has changed their half star rating policy.
Avolette
Good local date location or place to grab a pub meal. The music is a bit loud in here though so might not be great for intimate conversation. Food was pretty good and portion sizes quite large. I tried the steak sandwich and the steak strips were tender and tasty, with delicious capsicum and onion accompaniments and a good amount of sauce. Chips were crunchy and on point!
Hamish Graham
Bring back the old parmas! The new ones are half the size and nowhere near as good. Would much rather pay the extra $2 for what we used to get. Other than that, it is a great pub and always fantastic service
Manoj
Went in on a Monday randomly. Jumped on their main meal 50% special deal. Food was of good quality and tasted on point. Will pop in on a Monday more often
Hungry Little Dinosaur
Not bad for a pub but not good for a restaurant! Friendly service but dirty sticky tables. Food tasted like it came out of a packet, not sure how that was possible.
Geniebear
I’ve been here with two friends for a Sunday beer and some pub food. The atmosphere was excellent, live music, sports on screens and good vibes. Food was, considered the price of $25 for a steak with fries and salad, pretty good. Definitely not the best steak I had but more than reasonable for that price. Be back soon!
The Go Go Mumma
I chose to hold Mr Go Go’s surprise birthday here as if offered plenty of space, plus an array of dishes on their menu. The staff were engaged, friendly and great with offering consistent table service. <br/><br/>The portion sizes where humongous (The Parmi to be exact) My chicken burger, eh so-so I felt the bun encasing it wasn’t overly fresh. Our other guests enjoyed their meals (lamb salad, fish n’chips, arancini, fish taco and the beef cheeks) wholeheartedly so maybe I chose wrong? All-in-all it offers good pub food. <br/><br/>With an offering of a more secluded upstairs function area - Mrs Wolf; I would defiantly try this for my next big event. I’d rate this at 3.5 stars (unable to select this option with Zomato’s updated app?)
Kasandra Marie Caldwell
Cheap 20$ Wednesday night burger was pretty average. <br/>Loads of chicken in it, but really not much taste to it :( definitely had better burgers on chapel
Jessica Cook
Decent little pub, gets packed put on the weekends, good to watch the football at and grab a steak or afew beers!!! <br/><br/>Not much really on the drinks list though than basics!
Douzzzz
Hard to say whether the rating is fair on the place, I had the privilege of seeing a tinder date spill red wine all over her date whilst I was here so that epic meltdown may have bolstered this rating...<br/><br/>Nonetheless, we come here Thursdays after soccer and it's always good - tap beer selection is all class: cricketers/Melbourne through to your steam ales etc. generally we go for the $7 tacos, fish and pork are all class - they also do a $20 parks night with a few options that look decent - middle or chapel street isn't exactly a draw card for an elite crowd, but tuck yourself into a booth and you can avoid the worst of it
MelbourneLops
We really love a good lunch with a vibe! The Sunday roast at The Wolf and I ticked all the boxes - delicious, affordable and fantastic service We will be back!

Have been here multiple times, very nice place inside, upmarket pub of some sorts. They have a great Parma but it seems to be very inconsistent which is annoying when you take new people to the venue for said dish. I haven't eaten much on the menu however if you're inconsistent on a Parma then I am guessing the rest of the menu will be the same. I ate in the restaurant side of the venue all times I have been so am not sure what bar/pub are is like. This review is strictly on the inconsistent food, no complaints with service or anything else.
Good Food Good Mood
We chose this casual friendly little spot for dinner before a show at Chapel off Chapel. Boring basic sides (a side salad I would have expected from an RSL) but the parma itself was truly great. Very well done on the bird Wolf. A good Windsor staple if you are after a fuss free meal
Split The Bill
If you are looking to fancy pub on Chapel Street to have dinner with friends, I highly recommend The Wolf & I. We ordered so many different foods on the menu, please have a look at the photos, If I recall correctly everything was delicious. Service is fantastic, meals came out quick, staff are lovely and would even laugh at your tipsy jokes.
Simmyeats.Melb
Caught up with a girlfriend for a couple pre drinks before we had dinner which was at a different venue up the road. Good wine list and cosy setting inside. Not sure if I would eat here but would definitely come back for drinks. Lots of room inside and plenty of outdoor seating too. This isn't a sports bar but If you like your sports this may be the bar for you as there are tv screens inside showing the footy and rugby etc.
Kimberley Leggett
Great corner spot just off High St on Chapel with good happy hour deals and tasty pub food. My one downfall is the acoustics are terrible. It is SO loud even when its not so packed. Not sure what it is but between the ceilings and wooden floor boards the sound doesn't travel well. I've found myself shouting at my friends merely meters away at the bar.
Yanagin
Went there dinner last night & was pleasantly surprised. We've always been regular patrons in the bar but this was my first time eating out the back . Excellent .. Steak was perfecto!
Suburb Review
Really cool and funky bar with a vintage vibe. Service here is really genuine & friendly. Tapas abit on the salty side, maybe they do it on purpose to get people drinking. Great to check out either in the arvo or at night .
Tummy Rumbler
This place has a really great vibe and atmosphere.<br/>We ordered the Parma meal and the pulled pork burger. The Parma was a very decent size and loved the toppings which made it taste a little unique, not to mention the generous amount of super fat chips it was sitting on.<br/>The pulled pork burger had an amazing jalapeño sauce also served was a decent amount of chips. My partner tells me it's the best she's ever had!<br/>Great service from the always smiling friendly staff and fair prices too.<br/>We stayed on at the bar and by 9:30 was a buzzing with great tunes and overall was a fun night Saturday night. Definitely recommend.<br/>

$20 steak night, Monday - Wednesday! Delicious, meat cooked to my medium rare. Fries salted nicely. Happy hour 3-6, $4 pots and $7.5 pints. Good atmosphere and friendly staff. Lovely steak smash on Valentine's Day ❤️
Food Baby
Total PARMAGEDDON.. this was the largest chunk of parma protein I'd ever seen. The equivalent of three days of Weight Watchers meals, I could not finish this. It fact it took seven of us, each tagging in after the last one to have a go, and yet there were still some chips left on the plate by the end of the evening. <br/>As for the flavour, I'd say slightly above average. The flavour mix in the tomatoes needed to be a little more complex. But hey, maybe I'm just not a parma person. FYI - you'll be able to get a good sized table for a group on a Sat, but it might take some time for service.

<br/>Had dinner here on a busy Friday evening. The bar / front section was full by 6pm and the dining area / back section was filling up quickly also.<br/> <br/>Good food and a nice pub. A couple of outdoor areas which will no doubt fill up during barmy nights.<br/> <br/>The lamb shank was lovely and the succulent meat was falling off the bone. Had a small hiccup with my whole barramundi but the 2nd one was perfectly cooked and the staffs were very apologetic about the small hiccup, which went a long way.<br/> <br/>Would visit again.

We had a late lunch on a Sunday. I had the Corned Beef special. It was tasty and the portion was huge for $20. My wife had the chicken caesar salad which she enjoyed very much. It was so chunky and full of bacon bits. The kids' chicken and chips also easily becoming my daughter's favourite. They actually used real chicken instead of those frozen stuff. We are definitely coming back here.

Really great service in the dining area, where we were seated in a quiet little spot by the kitchen window. Mac 'n' cheese bites were a great start for me and the Vegetarian, however there was no mention of the fact that the burgers all come with hand cut chips. So the shoestring fries and onion rings while tasty, really were overkill and we struggled to do it all justice. My pulled pork was dripping with sauce, which sadly overpowered the very good coleslaw. The Vegetarian felt the balance of avocado a bit much in the mushroom burger. That said, no doubt if you're a bbq sauce or avocado worshipper you no doubt would have been delighted. Reasonable value, and something on the menu for most.

Had a parma from here. Was slightly burnt. Buttt i dont mind that, better over than under cooked. Made for the edges to be crispy. The parma breadcrumb coating Looked and tasted like it was made in the premises. Hand cut chips. Slaw wasnt much to rank. They asahi beer on tap. Winner for me.
Parmasofmelbourne
T'was the parma before Christmas, when all through the pub not a creature was stirring - except for the Wolf and I on Chapel St Windsor, where we got our paws onto a sneaky pre-Christmas Parma. $20 will get you a pot and parma on Thursdays so we gave it a go and boy are we glad we did. <br/>After a 15 minute wait the birds were out. At first they appeared quite small birds, but we realised they were thick after digging in. Everything about this parma was quality. <br/>Chicken was tasty and juicy and the crumbing was cooked to absolute perfection. We loved the cheese as well as the Napoli, although we prefer a little more of it. <br/>We generally don't like French fries but these were great, well seasoned and surprisingly crunchy. Salad was fairly average and it didn't help that it was barely dressed.<br/><br/>Overall the Wolf and I parma left us howling for more, definitely add this one to the list.<br/><br/>8.5/10

Back down the eastern side of Chapel Street, first stop is the big, imposing, grey monolith that used to be dive bar The Swan Hotel. As far removed from a dive bar as Kim Kardashian is from Kate Moss, The Wolf and I now still confusingly passes as a pub from the outside, but inside expect to find a modern fit-out, Scandinavian menu and a DJ playing Ice Cube’s You Can Do It.
Brungiel
Not a bad place for a Parma and a few beers with a larger group of people on Chapel st. Bar selection could improve and so could the service, but the food is quite decent.

Lunch yesterday on public holiday - well located, interesting pub menu. Good a little slow to come out but very satisfying pub fare with a little flair. Solid wine list and friendly service - would return!
Steph Roberts
Limited food & wine options<br/>They ran out of bread<br/>Music too loud in the restaurant to have a conversation <br/>Stopped serving cocktails at 10.20pn

A great little watering hole with a fine range of craft beers and friendly staff. A small lunch menu ensures freshness and I thoroughly recommend the local bay mussels.
Dam Burger
Good selection of beers on tap with good service. Go for Parma Thursday's $20 with glass of wine it's a good Parma or rib eye Monday again good rib eye. Out the back gets really noisy when busy unfortunately due to concert floor otherwise this place is great.<br/><br/>Update 2017. Parma is now a basic parma without a glass of wine. Came here on a weekend and found the food and wine average and not so cheap anymore. Better value elsewhere on chapel street now.
Marita D.
Go on a Friday, the lunch menu of $20 plus a pot of beer is a great option. The chicken parma is good, but it is let down by the chips.  I know it's a small criticism, but chips are an important factor in a 'parma and chips'!  Parma is still one of the better ones on the strip.

We dined in the large seating area behind the bar. It filled up pretty quickly on the Saturday night, so a booking might be needed for larger groups. We shared a cocktail jug, which was refreshing and good value though had too much ice which diluted our drink very quickly. Between two we ordered four "small plates" to share (all arrived quickly) and were comfortably full... we ended up having dessert elsewhere as they were out of the vanilla creme brulee. Pulled pork sliders were cold, dry and rather awful. Southern fried chicken lacked any kind of seasoning but was well cooked - the sauce made it almost okay. The quesadillas were amazingly good (lots of yummy flavours and a good hit from the jalapenos) and I would highly recommend them. Shoe string fries were top notch as well. Overall a decent pub meal, though on the pricey side considering the kitchen was inconsistent and produced both hits and misses. Also to note the menu is different to that posted online.

Went for a Friday work lunch, food was good but service was slow and staff seemed a bit confused at the bar.  Unfortunately they no longer have the $15 lunch menu so unlikely to return.  The parma was enjoyable but this is now only available as a special on a Thursday so need to find a new Friday lunchtime venue because while quite tasty at $15, $25 is a bit too steep for their parma.
Hungry Vego
Pleasant and helpful staff on a Saturday night. Very slow to get our food once we ordered though - and it was brought out by a number of confused wait staff! (It was a large group booking, so not entirely surprising.) The quinoa salad was a bit lacking in flavour, but a generous serve. Others I dined with weren't impressed with the sliders or popcorn chicken. In fact, the booking was made on their previous menu, which was apparently better.
EJA
Always a good feed for a good price. Popular feeds among my crew are the Barra, the mussels, the Parma, the steak and the fish n chips. Do great cocktail jugs, perfect for a summers day. Service is good also. Definitely a regular hang for us

Great pub food. Can't understand the lack of rave reviews/low rating here on zomato! It's great because it's in the entertainment book. To their credit, they honoured the entertainment book's rules and accepted multiple vouchers (we had 12 people on the table).  Loved my wagyu burger - haven't had one that good for a while.
GStram
Great local venue with happy hour Mon - Fri.  Can get a little loud with a few too many people in it,  but have spent the better half of the 3 years drinking there.  The staff are pretty cool and easy going.Parma special on Thursday is worth it - $20 with a pot and is probably the best parma going around Prahran.
Keally Nankervis
We waited a long time for our meals, and when they came out, they were okay, but nothing to write home about. I would highly recommend it for drinks, as the bar staff were super friendly and the atmosphere is great! I would go back for a light snack and a drink, but not for a sit down dinner.
Laura
Wolf and I is a great bar to mingle at, dont think i have ever left this place without making a new friend out of the night. Quick bar service and the meals are big and tasty. One of my favourite locals!
Melbourne Food Review
For those who love to dine on modern fare in a relaxed setting, the Wolf and I ticks all the boxes. The front bar is a great meeting spot for a casual drink and patrons can watch the footy after a great meal in the dining room. A relaxed vibe, interesting décor and a good selection of wines and beers on tap make this the perfect place for a casual catch up with friends.
Nic Cril
Modern Australian and Scandinavian cuisine.
Stuck In Transit
Looking for something quick on a late Thursday night, we found ourselves at The Wolf & I. We had been here before for drinks, however never made it past the bar to the dining room area. The Wolf & I offers two separate spaces, the front area acts as their main bar area with high top bar tables with black bar stools and a beautiful wrap around bar. Along the back wall showcases vintage sewing machines propped up on the wall, which is offset by the concrete floors. Moving past the bar, you will find yourself in their main dining room. This is a cosy, intimate space with dimmed lighting, both dark feature walls and brick feature walls and beautiful white ceilings. The decor in the space is very homey with rustic wooden tables and chairs and featured wooden antler lighting. FOOD Being here before and knowing this was a pub, I didn’t set my standard too high, however they have set a new bar for the meaning ‘pub food’. Yes you have all your standard pub meals like parma’s and chip

Pub food.  That’s what I expected from The Wolf and I on Chapel Street - I have to say this restaurant has helped me discover the possibilities of this type of meal! The had us with the mussels...
The Food Society
The Wolf and I restaurant is nestled in the back of the bar, with a sparse urban interior adorned with artwork.

We ordered the Shanks and Shiraz special, which was a glass of Shiraz (which you could change to any happy hour drink) served with a lamb shank and mashed potato for $20.00. We were both hungry afterwards so went somewhere else for cheese and crackers. There was very little mashed potato and it was a bit starchy. The shank was dry and tough and not cooked for quite long enough. The service was nice and the staff were polite and friendly. A nice place for a drink but the food needs work.

Ordering a drink off a special board for $6.50 to be told that it's an old sign and now is $9, not good!. I think I should have been given the old price as I own a business and cannot advertise a special then not give it to the customer. Very bad service. So I then ordered a flavoured vodka and soda water, price was $12!!!!! Unbelievable!!! The only saving grace was the live music, a trio 'Grapevine'.

I now believe its possible to get what you paid for from a restraunt. I only ever get to eat out on special occasions, and every time by the end I'm questioning whether the food was actually worth it.<br/>But not at the WOLF AND I! The food here is well above the price charged for it. I had the cured salmon starter, braised beef cheek main and stick date pudding desert. All three were flawless, in the literal sense of the word. So much so that I made the point of finding a place where I could post this review. SO MUCH SO that I'm writting this review whilst still sitting in the restraunt !

Perfection. Absolutely loved the wolf and I. Quick service, friendly staff and amazing food. Awesome atmosphere! The food was perfect, the entree was delicious and the main as well, cannot fault one bit. We will definitely be back :)

Festivus - it was nice. Disappointed a little as breakfast put on just for our large group as trial<br/>was good but when you trying to impress it needed to be Awesome!!

Large servings. Food was quite salty.<br/>Witnessed one chef picking at the food & eating it & the other one mixing salad with his hands & licking his fingers twice.

Great pub food. Been here a couple of times now. Once on a Friday night and another time on a Tuesday. Friday night had the footy crowd so it was at times quite loud in the restaurant and difficult to hear my friends at the table. Maybe they could invest in some sliding doors to separate the restaurant from the bar area? The food was great! I had the calamari, my friend had the quinoa salad and Ive had the prawn salad before as well. Fresh flavours, and lots of small tapas dishes to share which I love. The staff are helpful and attentive. I'll be back again
AJayne210
Won't be back. How hard is it to get a Parma wrong? Overcooked dry chicken, lifted the cheese/tomato covering off cleanly. Very noisy atmosphere, staff not too bad.
Mophki
Had a wonderful Mother's Day lunch here. We shared a number of shared plates and mum got a free glass of bubbles and a creme brûlée. Only small annoyance is that the small plates all came at the same time but was not a huge deal. You must try the osso buco dumplings. We even ended up ordering a second round. Came to just under $40 a head including a glass of wine 7 small plates and coffee for three people so happy with the price.

Mixed feelings..... Came in on a busy Saturday night with my girlfriends and had the quesadillas which were AMAZING!!!! went in a week later because I was so impressed on a Sunday and ordered them again. Took one bite and they were cold... didn't have any of the same ingredients and honestly made me feel abit queezy with oil. I asked the water why there would be such a major difference and he said "the head chef doesn't work Sundays so the food will never be the same as a Saturday night" bit weird. Might go back again one day but only on a saturday night.
Snoozie
Great deco & setting but have to say food bit on the pricey side. Although the salmon was quite yum; it literally had 5 mushrooms and an iddy biddy bit of Bok Choy w it for $31. Hardly filling. So added a side of mash $9.... That's pretty rough. So $40 and I wasn't even full. <br/>Staff were lovely & service prompt but food prices are a bit high for the fancy pub side of things. Won't be going again unfortunately
Wendy Lilley
The Australian Open Finals are on and so is the beginning of cricket. So what does the pub decide after a couple of requests?? The cricket. After an hour the crowds decrease and we move to the back room to watch an international event. ABSOLUTELY no idea!!!!

This place is great! The food is beautiful and the service attentive. Will be back again

Hand dryers. Good hand dryers in the toilets

Yes the food was nice. Yes the bill was pricey........ not sure if our meals were worth the +$30 cost but we did enjoy

Dessert is amazing and the bar guys are super friendly!! Been there several times and always a great experience!! Good work guys!!

What a hit for Chapel st! My friend and I had wandered past seemingly hundreds of cheesy cafés and takeaway places along the strip when we reached this gem of a pub. It was fairly quiet, outdoor tables and 8 kinds of beer and cider on tap to boot, we agreed to give it a try and we didn't regret it. The front bar staff were attentive, not at all pretentious and the menu is full of variety. We ordered the potatoes, chicken wings, pulled pork pancakes and mini burgers to share, the mains looked delicious too but we couldn't decide on just 2 things and each item was tastier than the last. I will definitely be back!
Rato
Eaten here a couple of time now & have enjoyed each & every experience. The food, which is trumped up faves, has been delicious & well worth the slightly higher price tag than normal pub fare. I can particularly recommend the burger with the sweet cabbage slaw & melt in your mouth patty. The staff in the dining room are professional, über friendly & very accommodating, equally the front bar staff. If you are happy to have the sports on TV, eat in the front bar with good music & a nice amount if ambient noise! If not, the back dining area perfectly serves as a haven away from this and in fact, almost seems like another restaurant altogether although the menu remains the same. I'm not a big beer drinker but my friend stated he was impressed with the beers on tap & the wine selection is very reasonably priced. Everything on the menu sounded good to eat & might keep long back till I've made my way through it all!!!!

Good find!. Drove past and decided to try it for an unplanned Sunday lunch, pleasantly surprised. The 2 of us shared 6 items, we especially enjoyed the salmon, hotdogs, quesadillas and chicken wings. 6 items for $55, good value considering the food is much more cheffy than your usual pub affair. Sticky date was delicious. Clean, love the decor, cute flowers and mint in the water bottles a nice touch. Will return!

Where are the Wolves??. Okay its one thing to be named the Wolf and I but to hide your Wolves when its a Saturday night... the atmosphere was lacking a little bit... there were plasma screens with sport but I would have to try dining here... only a place to drink but not to catch up with friends as you would have to yell to hear one another and get knocked by people coming past.. Will give another post if I come back for food ;)

Cool place. So casual and the food was really nice. ambiance was very laid back. pub style. it was just easy to walk in and sit down and decide what to eat over a great beer and company.would love to go back again
Went With Me Missus
One of the best on Chapel. Went with me missus. Their water bottles with mint stems inside were the first things that grabbed my attention (apart from the deer statues at the entrance of the restaurant of course), I thought that was a fresh idea. <br/><br/>Had cured salmon, danish meatballs and beef cheek. Mmm all three were excellent choices, they were so yummy! The waiter told me there was a Danish cook working in the kitchen so they specialisd in danish dishes eg. danish meatballs. <br/><br/>Portion was more than sufficient, and the atmosphere was warm and casually romantic. One of the better places to dine on Chapel.
The Truth
Quite disappointed.. Thought the place looked interesting from the outside, however the food and atmosphere proved to be quite dull. Overcooked steak, soggy chips, disappointing experience had.
Dani_2D
Great food and experience. Delicious food with the experience of a classy pub.
Poko Delaware
Had a wonderful time! Good food good wine good service nice atmosphere couldn't fault it
Levi
It's sometimes a bit loud, other than that I have found the service and food perfect every time I have been, i especially love the desserts!
Sam Difference
This place probably would be a good choice if you don't mind a noisy atmosphere and loud horrible music drowning you out. Front bar had footy on, dined in back room. Staff were attentive. Food was average: fish and chips were pretty bland and I expected more fish and maybe a side salad for a $23 meal. Partner's burger was soggy and bland. Maybe we just picked the wrong meals- some other diner's dishes looked nice. Would I go back? Maybe...
Ben
I cannot believe this place has only 3 unisex toilets!!! is this even legal for a place with a licence for 200 patrons? Who wants to Line up with a bunch of drunks.
Amber B
Seen this place busy a few times now, but tonight was a little quieter but nice. Ate in the bar, the atmosphere was good and I love to people watch. We shared the food, which was fantastic, when we ran out of bread we asked for more and was delivered at no extra charge, happy days. We ate the barramundi with risotto which was cooked perfectly and the beef cheek which just feel apart, paired with amazing mash. Very happy customers who will come back, just fingers crossed it was not a one off. Not your ordinary pub, and great renovation!

Absolutely delicious tapas! Unfortunately the restaurant was booked, and my friend and I had to eat at the bar, which was incredibly noisy. I would go there again, but only if I booked in the restaurant!

This place has beef and steak to die for!!! Best mash and gravy I've had too! Will be back for sure!

AMAZING MINI BURGERS!!!!!!!. Dropped in here last night, as its always busy when I walk past, and saw about 4 tables of people eating mini burgers, so thought id better try them..... UNBELIEVABLE....... They must have everything in them that isnt good for you, but they taste amazing..... Buns are Brioche, and just hte right size, the patties are evidently home made, juicy and done on the grill, heaven, with just a little bit of charcoal taste...... the fillings are nice, celeriac i bleieve, no idea what that is, buts its good..... Do yourself a favour, if you like burgers, this is it! and there arent too filling either...... Parmigiana looks great, as did the steak.... Staff are very friendly, and not expensive.

Recently had the most enjoyable night here. Had an amazing squid salad and my friend had a burger which she said was mouth watering. Looking forward to going back and trying there shared platters!

Great atmosphere & front bar. Sadly food service was a let down with one meal out of four being forgotten. Would have thought it was 101, when there is four people at table that if waiter places three meals with kitchen something's wrong. Menu creative and decent quality though.

Would go again. Had dinner there last night, really enjoyed the food! Had a great meal, was a big serving too! Really enjoyed it and will be going back again!

Excellent Lunch.. Just ate here today. Brilliant renovation of an old pub. Good bar and dining area. Decent range of beers and wine at reasonable prices for the area. Prompt friendly service.<br/>The burger was exceptional, turkish bread bun, juicy patty, roasted mushroom, tomato, red cabbage slaw, and cheese. Accompanied by fries, side salad, and tomato sauce and aioli on the side.<br/>Not any more you could ask for. Thoroughly satisfying

Same as the rest on Chapel. I was looking for a proper hotel bar, not the sort cattering to the clubbing crowd and thought The Wolf and I prospective.<br/>But alas not. Standard range of drinks, standard fare to eat. No clubbing music though so that was something.

Dinner. Just ate here.Great friendly staff. But the fact that the bill would not be split was outrageous!!what planet are they on..it's not hard..does'nt cost them money! and the way people do things. The serving were not generous,as in a few spoons on lentils on a lamb dish!doesn't cost much to make the meal seem bigger..perseption is everything. Also alot of salt used.I seem whingy, but I was told it was really good and was disappointed.!!

Poor service. We were asked if we wanted to see the menu half an hour after being shown to our table. Of course we want to see the menu! Was told that the chef didn't like to make any changes to menu items so they were unable to substitute a side of peas for something else. When I asked to not have the peas at all and the meal still came out with them. Food was nice but not fantastic. That said, the dining area has a great atmosphere for a social dinner.

Myself and friends thought we would venture south of the river for a change and check out the newest venue on chapel street. It was not worth the journey, the bar person/waiter was not at all on top of her game and had to be asked twice for drinks I ordered at the bar. When your paying that price for dry burgers you may as well go somewhere local and save the time. The fit-out is great with all the exposed brickwork and opening dining space but not enough to bring us back again.

The food was cold with the burger average at best - prefer others

With sculptures of deer/animal heads on human bodies sitting at tables ad hanging from the walls, this new restaurant down the Windsor end of Chapel certainly has the decor to draw the customers in. <br/>Headed down there on a sunny Sunday for coffee and lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. <br/>I had an extremely messy but amazing burger, my partner a parmigiana. The service was attentive and fast. <br/>Very impressed and I'll definitely be back!

Dessert was a no-brainer. How anyone can go past a chocolate fondant baffles me! Almond cream and pistachio icecream rounded it out perfectly and we were extremely disappointed that we opted to share!
Hold The Peas
It was pretty busy for a Tuesday night but we were able to get a table, which had a cool map on it.
Parma Daze
I had suspicions that The Wolf & I would be good, but I never expected it to be this good. If the sides had’ve been only slightly better they’d be in contention for top spot. Absolutely outstanding parma and easily the best we have come across this year (so far, at least).
Gastrology
Combining Scandinavian-inspired interior, great Aussie pub grub and a firm focus on affordable hospitality, the Wolf and I is a great addition to Windsor’s bustling food precinct. The venue sits upon a historic site which occupies the former old Swan Hotel and is split into three distinct areas:  front bar, dining room and casual seating areas.
