Review Resto Bobo - Windsor

One of my favourite places in Melbourne. I've been to Resto Bobo about 5 times in less than two months and I just cannot get enough of it. Delicious tartes flambées, awesome cocktails and great friendly service. This place is a gem in the middle of loud Chapel Street!

Hard to explain but delicious to consume. Beautiful Tarte Flambee based menu. Like a thin based pizza but not! Very light on the tummy, delicious toppings and smooth cheeses. Great salads and amazing deserts. A surprise package in Melbourne's newest centre of casual dining.

Have been to this place twice (planning a third visit soon) and can't put it into words how much I crave for the Tarte Flambee. They are addictive, extremely delicious and you will keep coming back for more. So extremely tasty and yummilicious. Authentic French cuisine Restaurant. Highly! Highly recommended. :)

Fabulous food, wine and service. My partner and I tried RestoBoBo after seeing it on multiple occasions. I’m so glad we did! We were welcomed with warm and efficient hospitality, served delicious food, and we got to try something new and different- a lighter and more interesting version of French fare. We shared a french style pizza with ham, gruyère and mushrooms, followed by raclette with lyonnaise sausage, broccoli and asparagus marinated in chili. All were delicious and well prepared, we managed to enjoy a beautiful Bordeaux wine or two, all reasonably priced and served with a smile. Couldn’t recommend highly enough & we will definitely be back!

Sooo good! I've never had tarte flambee before and I'm wondering where it's been all my life. Amazing cheese, perfect amount of crispness and yummy toppings! Go with a big group of friends so you can try a slice of everything 😊

It’s not often that days later I’m still dreaming about a meal I ate, but Resto Bobo managed to have me doing just that. Specialising in Tarte Flambee from the Alsace region of North East France – this is French food, but not as you know it. Resto Bobo has the feel of a classy wine bar – with a great alcohol list to match this. All their menu is designed for sharing (although obviously, you don’t have to!). To start with we opted for the Charcuterie Board – at $19, I felt this was really good value given the quality of the ingredients. It would be perfect for two to share as a snack while enjoying a drink, or as we did, as a starter to your meal. The pork pate was the highlight of the whole evening, with such a rich flavour, but every element of the board was great. As a main we shared the Traditionelle Ail-Cibo Tarte Flambee. A Tarte Flambee is kind of the French equivalent of a pizza, but the dough is crispy and a lot lighter. The level of restraint with the flavours was excellent. It’s distinctively French, but everything manages to blend and work together, without any one flavour overwhelming. We also tried the La Dent Sucree, a sweet Tarte Flambee topped with apples and cinnamon. Calvados, a traditional apple liquor from Normandy (which taste like a strong, sweet cider) is poured over the top of the dessert and it’s set alight in front of you (think Sambuca, but poured over a dessert). This is pretty cool and adds that extra something special to the meal. The taste reminded me of apple strudel: apple, a little syrupy, and with that crisp from the base. There really is nothing like this in Melbourne. Resto Bobo brings French flavours to a more casual eating experience. A thoroughly enjoyable experience: for Chapel Street locals this offers the perfect hang out with friends, and fellow foodies – you need to get down here and try this, it’s definitely a great new cuisine joining Melbourne’s ever expanding food scene.
