Review Railway Hotel - Windsor

Aditya Joshi
The service was great. It’s a very clean pub with friendly staff. The drinks are priced cheaper than most places on Chapel street. The patrons here were unpretentious and relaxed - such a welcome relief from most other places on Chapel street. The pub has both indoor and outdoor areas, and a smoking area too. My friends loved their food. I was happy with my drinks 😊. I was happy with the comfy vibe. I’ll definitely visit again! I think I now have a favourite pub in Windsor.

I had my engagement party at The Railway Hotel. The venue was great! They let us come in early to set up and come in the next day to pack up. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Special shout out to Rommer for being so accommodating and Angus and Emma were brilliant bar tenders. We organised a platter of food for 50 people which was huge and super tasty! The drinks were really reasonably priced. We also had a cake which the kitchen were more than happy to cut up and serve. Only negative I can say is that responses to emails were quite slow, so better to call up to confirm details. I definitely recommend holding your event at the Railway Hotel!

First star ⭐️ Goes to the Staff maybe because he was Canadian, but both the girl behind the bar and the Guy we’re friendly and pleasant to deal with. Second star ⭐️ Reasonably priced with a vibrant feel to the place from the 80s rock to today’s lounge music and up beats. Third star ⭐️ the food not your basic pub menu, food well presented food hade the duck 🦆 My friend the chicken 🐓 parmigiana cooked to perfection excellent presentation and bloody yummy Fourth star ⭐️ bathrooms were clean and had an outdoor area with a designated smoking area that didn’t effect the non smokers. Fifth Star ⭐️ for the the overall feel or the place, we were there on a a Saturday afternoon.

Love the rooftop courtyard, perfect place to have a cold beer and enjoy the sunshine. Staff are friendly and welcoming

Private function room at the front is perfect for a party. We had a size of 45 people, you could fit more. We had flowing drinks and food. End of the night the bar staff looked after us playing music! Fun times dancing... Thank you!

Relaxed environment, right beside Windsor station. 24hr bottle shop down stairs. Good grub and friendly staff

Great view of the footy from the dance floor. Pretty rooftop with nice views. Only complaint is that the vodka raspberry was very sub par.

Stumbled upon This place while visiting Melbourne it was a Monday afternoon spotted the rooftop bar and thought we should pop in for a drink we stayed for about 4 hours! Cheap good quality spirits food was amazing and service was great too! Francesca was awesome. The roast chicken, lamb shoulder and pumpkin was delicious! Highly recommend

First time there with the "Meet Up" group. Fantastic venue. Great sunny comfortable roof top area. Staff lovely. Only problem was the music was nightclub loud and we all had trouble talking to each other. Good music but way way to loud.

Absolutely perfect function space and service for my husband's birthday party - we had around 50 people - Emma did a brilliant job of looking after us on the day. Delicious canapés. The area had its own bar and toilets, windows opened out to lovely quiet Albert st side across from railway station. Rommer the manager was very helpful with the organisation, we were free to decorate the room, lots of flexibility overall. Highly recommend this place for a function!! Thanks to all the staff at The Railway Hotel for a fantastic day 👍🏼

Came here last night for pre drinks! Loved it. Great little beer garden, plenty of seating and staff were great! And the $5 pints of beer. Will definitely come back . Next time will try the yummy food I eyed off.

Good space but they gotta sort out the smell that takes over the whole upstairs bar area, every time someone opens the toilet doors

Good venue, great location, been going there for ever, off and on, friendly staff, a perfect place to meet mates for beers, that's the problem, the Beers, no Carlton draught, VB or any other local beers on tap, I understand it's probably a Hahn pub, but we are in Melbourne, and I'm sure one alternative on tap wouldn't hurt!i know I'd go more often.

Has a nice roof top place, but they need to turn down the music, it's a social setting not a dancing

Great place for an afternoon drink. Upstairs is the place to be. Great outdoor deck area. Large and inviting. Nice big bar with very friendly staff. Gets busy in the afternoons and evenings. They have music and food. Gay night from Sunday at 3pm but all are welcome. Very friendly atmosphere.

Amazing hotel, food is brilliant, the best service iv’e had when travelling through Victoria. Accessing the hotel was very convenient and close to public transport.

Railway Hotel Windsor, perfectly located just across from Windsor station. Pristine marble top bar, large outdoor deck and cosy inside seating. The usual crowd being sophisticated looking for a casual relaxed night, top shelf alcohol on happy hour, the railway is like a dream come true. To be honest, whenever i decide to have night out i always go to The Railway. Especially if it’s a Saturday night with grey goose only being $5 a drink, all night long.

Platter can be improved.. wasn't all that great.. potato kipfler was tasty.. pulled pork nuggets also tasty. Outside area nice & spacious. Great location next to Windsor station.

Why is it called the railway hotel? Anyone with two ounces of nabo knowledge would know that it is because it's right next to Windsor station. And if you're not lucky enough to live in the lovely South this is very convenient for a little stumble home with mates post-pints. <br/><br/>It's summer time, so do everyone a favour and walk up the stairs: Welcome to the open air component of Railway Windsor. It's got couches and an almost costal feel with the occasional whiff of that St StKilda ocean air. Really settles the tummy! <br/><br/>Tap beers have the sort I like (Boags?) And there's a wine list too I am sure. One of the cooler features was the time I was here there was basketball on the TV. No point sitting to watch it when you can stream to phone because a sports bar this ain't. Yes the clientele have a bit of the fancy about them but don't let that put you off because so soon you will all be getting along. <br/><br/>This is a place for mates so bring them if you got them.. if not, maybe a cafe would be better suited to the Solo life

The Railway Hotel is like a Vietnamese roll; lots of ingredients all rolled up in one. Take your pick whether you keep it casual and hang out in the downstairs bar, join the Sunday sesh rooftop deck ritual, go full foodie in the formal Highline Restaurant, or don’t remove your Peter Alexanders and head straight for the 24-hour Thirsty Camel bottle-o.

Gotta say one the best value for $$ meals I've had in Melbourne, 6 of us just ate at the Railway, $16 each, 3 different absolute brilliant meats, 5 sides. Put together with one of the best happy hours around.<br/><br/>Can't wait to do it again.
