Review The Naked European - Windsor

Taza Nazari
Had a late lunch at The Naked European, It was a great! The food was cooked perfectly, the drinks were refreshing and the staffs are 10 out of 10. One of the nicest place to come for amazing food and great service.

Massively overpriced for the portion size, found a hair in my salad which was brushed off by the waiter with a murmured apology. We also waited for a good 35 mins for a steak and roasted veg when we were the only ones eating in the whole venue. A dissapointing experience!

We have been walking past for ages and finally came in today. A great menu. The staff are really friendly. If you are in to a dessert you must have the Key Lime Cheesecake. Delicious. We will be back.

Five of us had the most wonderful lunch today at Belle Vie. The food was fantastic, the service was attentive and friendly and the wine was excellent. We will definitely go back again.

Loved this place. Staff and food were amazing! Unfortunatley we had an altercation with some drunk customers but the owner came out, difused the situation and gave us free drinks. He was a top bloke. Other staff was also super friendly. We were made to feel very comfortable and welcome the whole time we were there. The cheff is top notch too.

Great cocktails... average food and a total rip off! $20 ahead for 3 tiny serves... would have been cheaper to order individually but this wasn't explained... very disappointed
Kathryn Shepherd
Oysters made me think I was beachside. Lamb souvlaki was to die for and the tiramisu was the best I have ever tasted. Service was amazing. And the wine recommend by the owner was fantastic.
Kristin Laffrey
Beautiful restaurant with amazing service and friendly staff. Food is always served at a consistently high quality!

Can it get any worse?

I'm so glad that the previous owners are gone judging by the new owner replies. As it was one of those disappointing dinner we've ever experienced in Melbourne, back in May 2017.

Great location, but very chaotic in operation for a small restaurant .... We were greeted with a rude shock from the Owner/Manager, telling me that our Groupon vouchers were expired, really? ..... expiring date according to the voucher was 16th May, surely that is after 9th of May on my calendar.

What is more surprising that they even asked me whether I've mention it when I booked, well you did asked for a $10/person booking fee on my credit card which I've emailed to you and called to confirm.

Menu online is "modified" with the Menu in-house, very small and limited, so we've ordered a few Fettuccine Marinara and mostly Steaks.

This was on the Menu online ....200g eye fillet steak, gratin dauphinoise potatoes served with the sauce of your desire, this is what were served ... Thin Steak, cut in half, thin Steak sandwich style, over-cooked, burned, we've ordered 12 of these.

Chips are good, although easy on those salts would be better.

No gratin dauphinoise, just chips

No sauce

Fettuccine Marinara was a better choice, same price as those steaks which we have to pay $10 extra.

A few Desserts we've ordered .... badly made Tiramisu and the rest were just okay ..... on top of Groupon vouchers we've spend more than $300 extra .... JT-09/05/2017.

We walked passed this place after dinner and had to go in just because of the name of the restaurant/bar. We were after some drinks, had a quick look at the drinks menu and went with the porn star martini and a glass of wine. The porn star was served with a shot of peach schnapps. It was light and fruity, definitely hit the spot. Next time we are on chapel street we will have dinner here.

All day breakfast was amaaaaazing! Definitely helped the recovery from the night before! 😀
The chorizo with the full breaky was insane and we even had room for a sneaky Virgin Mary super hot with chilli - love it!
Thanks guys be back for sure

Beetroot in the beetroot and candied walnut salad tasted tinned, came with iceberg lettuce, (pictured). It wasn't very appealing then as the beetroot wasn't fresh it didn't taste very good. The risotto was pretty tasteless, not enough cheese through the risotto and not enough seasoning or mushrooms. The tiramisu was ok. Much better in comparison to the other dishes, but not amazing. I hate leaving negative reviews, but the first two dishes were really quite bad.

This place has a lot of potential. But serving olives from a jar as Mediterranean style is a bit rich.

It didn't wow, though the menu sounded great.

The fresh oysters were the best thing.

Won't go here again.

Friendly but missing the beat.

Great service and lovely staff. However the food was very disappointing and they were really small serves. Lacking value for money. We definitely wouldn't go back
Yum yum yum ... came here with a few friends not expecting anything and left with the best experience.
Everything from food to service was amazing. We even had one of those gluten free, lactose free etc... people with us and the chef even came out to make sure she is getting the right food.
It's lovely to see a place that cares so much about service and customer satisfaction
Thank you

Great food, great atmosphere and amazing cocktails! Flavors left me wanting more. Will definately be back for more! The meatballs are mouthwatering! Best European on this strip!
An early dinner before the theatre at the Naked European opposite Windsor station. I'm not a brunch hour person but I do love breakfast! I'd never make desert for breakfast though. Breakfast is served till 5.30 at the Naked European though the menu us limited to five items with no guc or smashed avo. Not food porn based or inclusive of trending magnums and a terrarium of sugar and colour. It was actually kinda disappointing.

Went here with a groupon voucher for 4 people. It was happy hour when we arrived which was great so stared with $5 glasses of wine. Nice venue to sit outside on chapel street. Waiter was attentive but took so long to get the wine when the restaurant was empty. Then they totally forgot a beer we ordered and didn't noticed the forth person didn't have. A drink. Ordered food which was all good nothing special well the steak special did have a good Greek style salad instead of very basic salad. Steaks came but no utensils to eat with, then they forgot one steak knife and took ages to bring another. Ordered more wine they forgot the order. So had to order again. Order water three times and finally came. Don't like to complain as waiters were very nice and friendly just forgetful. Food was ok. I would go back for steak night and happy hour. Oh the pork sliders only came with three but there were 4 of us so they just served 4 without charging. That was very generous as we said we would pay for the extra one.

While not a bad overall experience, this place just missed the mark a bit. The menu is simple and prices are reasonable. We enjoyed the meal , but we will not be racing back to try it again.

What can I say if your advertising on Groupon you know the place is in trouble! Avoid at all costs the food is absolutely vulgar!

You can get better tapas in the freezer section at Coles!

I give them a couple of weeks and the place will be closed down!

Our favourite spot for a chilled out meal... the food is absolutely delicious, the wait staff super nice make you feel at home. We would love to visit this place again.
TheChaiLatteGirl
Fresh and delicious European food; Lovely staff; Nice atmosphere; Reasonable price; I loved it! Definitely worth a try if you are in the neighbourhood. You can feel that the owner is putting in a lot of love and effort into this place.

Best of the best service indeed.delicious food and quick service.
I would like to visit again.
Less waiting and quite busy place.one of my fav.

Nuno Abrantes
Great restaurant! Recommend to everyone who want enjoy a good meal! Good location. Very nice staff and great customer service, environment and presentation with a selection that has variety and fulfill every taste. Awesome oysters.
Melissa Quinton
Great location, friendly staff and good vibe. Make sure to read the whole menu because you want to save room for the naked cheesecake - delicious.
Kate Smith
Really disappointing.
The food lacked it flavour all round.
To start my partner and I shared some Arancini, it was bland and slightly undercooked.
And for our mains I had the risotto that had mushrooms and the equivalent of 1 whole asparagus spear, I also asked for the grilled calamari that came as an extra and that was forgotten. The risotto was bland and portion size tiny and when I did receive the calamari it was fishy and couldn't eat it.
My partner had the eye fillet scallopini with potato, the portion size was a JOKE and the presentation was unattractive.
We were served by a waitress and it was her first day, she did a great job and that's the reason I'm giving 1.5 stars instead of 1.

Food was amazing, excellent drink options and ample parking. Staff were friendly. Would definitely return for more. Would highly recommend!

Took my wife here for dinner and WOW the service was amazing food arrived so quickly and it tasted AMAZING the beef skewers are definitely my favourite and we will be back!
Fiona Melville
Came here for a few cheeky cocktails after work with the girls and WOW! The bartenders were amazing and even helped us choose when we couldn't!Will definitely be back I need to try the food!

I visited here from interstate based on a recommendation ... And aren't I glad I did! It was a funky little place and served the most amazing cocktails. The food was very fresh and delicious. I could not fault the staff - they were super friendly and were more than happy to accommodate our requests. I highly recommended a visit. I'll be back again for sure!

This place was great! Beautiful food and fast service! Highly recommend! The staff were lovely and our food was fresh as can be. Great place to be with family and friends! I will be coming back!
Nixo Angcao
Delicious and elegant European food. I ordered the beef skewers and it's packed with wonderful flavours. The marination of the beef is amazing. Would love to come back her to taste other of their food.
Emily Hurley
Amazing, mouthwatering food with exceptional service and staff! I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and would be sure to recommend to anyone!
Peter Tatham
The food is great and staff exceptional. Some of the best food on Chapel St. Tapas style starters, interesting mains and wonderful deserts. We will definitely be back.
Rosie Raiti
Mouthwatering traditional rustic Italian food, full of flavour in every bite. Great customer service, environment and presentation, with a selection on the menu that is not boring and has variety, even made room for the awesome home made cheesecake 😍
Oyster sliders - delicious.

We saw that it was often empty but after mixed reviews online we thought we would give it a go. WHAT A MISTAKE! Unfortunately I couldn't imagine finding a worse place in Melbourne! Everything was majorly overpriced as the quality was poor and the portion sizes were tiny. The main meals were the size of a small entree and the entrees were how I would imagine tasters. Most of us are not big eaters but all left hungry despite a large sized bill. they were missing almost every wine we asked for and the cocktails tasted like from a backpackers bar. The twitchy owner could not be more unpleasant as he tried to pushed us buy more, spoke bad of the next bar we had already planned to move on to and got angry at his staff for not working harder in an empty restaurant. literally as we were talking about seeing mixed reviews for the Naked European online, WE OVERHEARD THE OWNER TELLING STAFF TO PUT UP MORE FAKE REVIEWS ONLINE. this explains why all reviews online either say that the restaurant is amazing or horrible.

Me and my friend recently had a few cheeky cocktails there before a night out. Bar staff were great. We couldn't decide on which cocktail we wanted first and the bartender asked what flavours and alcohol we like (grey goose of course) and created some amazing off the menu cocktails for us. And he smashed it. We finished the night there with delicious expresso martini to get us buzzing for our night out :-)

I was walking down chapel and saw this cute place that was busy so I thought I might try and get a table. The staff were very friendly and were able to squeeze us in. We had the pumpkin arancini and the calamari was awesome we'll definitely be coming back

This place is excellent and needs to be busier! Great food, great service and a good atmosphere. Don't wait 2 hours at Hawker Hall or Mr Miyagi up the road if you are happy to wander down and share some delicious European food :)
Tal Schik
Excellent service and cocktails! One of the best European restaurants I've been and it's in Australia! It's always fun to come here for every occasion. Highly recommended!
Shannon Breen
Fantastic restaurant! Came in with 4 friends for one drink, ended up staying all night eating beautiful food and drinking great cocktails! Our waitress Natasha was very accommodating and could not have done enough for us! We will definitely be back!!
Chris Spiers
Little disappointed to be honest. The place is nice and staff were super friendly. The food was over priced and pretty average. We got the sliders that were $7 each and were tine and the bread was stale. We also got the souvlaki which was small, and not very appealing. Again the bread was stale. I wanted to like this place but would not recommend.

I paid $37 to have this delivered from foodora. The tiny steak wouldn't have been over 150 grams. So unsatisfying to pay that much and get the equivalent of an average cooked kids meal.
Vivek Modi
Very nice food and modern restaurant. We ordered lamb souvlaki and beef skewers. They were quite good. Going in happy hours is a real deal. Love it.
Marc Booth
We're a little worried as was quiet when we walked in but to be honest I was most impressed. Highly recommend the chorizo spring rolls and the beef skewers. They were tender and simple, so they didn't mask the great steak. Then there was the desert!!
Gourmet Explorer
We went to the restaurant for a dinner. It's empty. The staffs were friendly. The dish size is quite small and the price was not cheap. Anyway, one main cause is not enough for an adult, for example, the salmon dish. But the food was delicious and well presented. I liked the dessert a lot. If the money is not an issue, it is worth to try it.

Great food, great staff. We have been there on Saturday night, we enjoyed the atmosphere, the delicious foods, the friendly staff. Must try!
Sarah Smith
Would not recommend. Portions are small, food is below average. Could see the owner yelling at staff which wasn't pleasant for a dinner date. Chapel Street has a lot more to offer.
Hannah Phillips
One of my favourites!!! Love the Meatballs and you can't go past 4 hours of 2 for 1 cocktails on Friday through to Sunday... This restaurant in Chapel street is a must.
Bec Martinez
This place is a must try! Delicious food, i was already planning my next visit while i was there! Great place to pop on for a drink, excellent event venue if you have a function coming up.
Can't recommend highly enough.
Christian Thomson
We had a great start to our night! They we're very accommodating to our needs and wants throughout our stay there. Great service. Friendly staff. Which makes you want to come back. Great meals. Reasonably priced. And great, chilled back atmosphere. A must! To start the night off on chapel street! I'd recommend it as a kick off point!
Hunger Pains
Came here on a Saturday night cos it was the only empty place on chapel street. Atmosphere is pretty nice but dinner was horrible. The seafood skewers came with 2 skewers - one prawn, one scallop and one bit of octopus on each. They were not filling at all and came with a weird whipped cream which was not appetizing and didn't compliment the seafood in any way. The salmon was a let down too, it was so thin and came with nothing, just plain cabbage. A lot of the chips were burnt. Don't come here if you're hungry!

Buy 1 get 1 free on cocktails and beers at the moment! I can't believe it! Made me forget about the horrible weather, feels like summer again!

Anyone wanting fantastic food and service this place is the way to go..
The food is amazing couldn't ask for anything better and the service is amazing five star all the way 👍👌🏼👍👌🏼

Thank goodness for clothes because no one would want to see me naked, especially after the very generous servings at The Naked European. I don't get out much these days but it is nice to know that Wyagu beef can be served well, and tasty and the arancini balls were delicious. I thought about the duck and went for the dive (seeing that it is the season!) and was not disappointed. Service attentive, the house red hit the spot and the pre-dinner drink (just for a little reverse psychology) hit the spot. Phew. Good all round, so go!

Love the cocktails at Pedro's restaurant, happy hour is fun lots to choose from , service is friendly and fast. Fresh tasty food love the menu and oysters!!!!! A great vibe have taken friends and family. Recommend to anyone .😋

The name alone guaranteed a visit. Really good atmosphere and perfect location.
Chicken wings and cold beer were a hit to start with.
BUT the torched salmon and the souvlaki were amazing!
Definitely coming back and highly recommended

Popped in for a quick meal before the theatre. Reading previous reviews on here I had my doubt's, but thought I'd give it a try anyway. I now wonder why I haven't been here before! Our waiter greeted us with a warm welcome and from then onwards we thoroughly enjoyed everything. The selection of food we had was good (loved the souvalaki) and the amaretto and rhubarb sour was brilliant. Just talking about it makes me want another one. Finished with plenty of time before the show. We will be back soon! Thank You!

Jalepeno Poppers, Tender Pork Belly, 24hr slow cooked steak, followed by my wifes new favorite desert 'Mixed Pleasures'. What a find! Absolutely love the décor and the food was on point. I would highly recommend trying the Couvent des Visitandies Pinot Noir, it complimented our selection of food perfectly! We will be returning again, not only for the food but to try the 2 for 1 cocktails during happy hour!

Extremely disappointing! The food was very bland, the service was horrendous, the cocktails were nasty and the general atmosphere was very off putting.

You would get a better meal in Maccas!
Samwise
This was the worst restaurant I've ever eaten at in Windsor. Do NOT recommend. Go anywhere else on Chapel St and you will get a better meal.
Pigsee
Went here for a drink with friends. Wine list was pretty underwhelming. Friends left after a drink and my partner and I stayed for a quick dinner. Ordered a few dishes, were ok but nothing special. There's much better to be had on Chapel St.
CoCoNuT
not impressive, nothing we had was WoW,
up it up guys, the chips are the worst chips I have ever had, so soggy, has potential, great decor and good location
Senatorfrank01
Hit and miss.

Went for dinner and it was good in some areas, not so good in others. The slow cooked lamb wrap was really nice but 2 of the other dishes were average. Was nice to get a table outside which added to the atmosphere.....and to add to this, the flying ants were wonderful too!

Maybe choose an inside table.
Nicholas
great food great place , love the staff very polite and friendly . would definitely go back again and enjoy the best taste of windsor . Love the cocktails too!
Gavin Haak
Wednesday night, quite quiet.

Really surprised with the quality. Possibly the best take on a souvalaki I've ever tried. Very reasonably priced given the quality of food. Recommended.

Really pleasantly surprised! Being so new I expected there to be drama, but there was none. Service was a little slow to begin with (it was 8pm on a Friday afterall), but really picked up. The food was SUPERB! Really great selection of options to please lots of different tastes, but everything was delicious. The service was friendly and everything was reasonably priced too! A great night out!
