Review Kuku Mama - Windsor

We got the new $29 Yum Cha! What insane value for money. The food was great and so cheap! A nice date spot out or night out with friends. We didn’t have any drinks but they looked good too.

Amazing bottomless. The drink options were amazing and staff were even better. They were great at responding to my emails to organise a large group. Bottomless brunch is hard to find for a large group but they were perfect. Once our bottomless ended they had a happy hour! Very cheap drinks. Would highly recommended especially for a large group.

Did the bottomless dinner and drinks twice in the last 2 weeks! The only bottomless dinner I could find in Melbourne so it's rare find. So worth the $59, both times I couldn't finish all the food and the frozen margaritas are included in the package which makes it so even more worth it. The food is absolutely delicious, especially the chicken baos and Mac and Cheese squares . Definitely will be back

We were kindly invited to Miss Kuku for a lovely dinner. First thing I loved was the atmosphere - the music was pumping, people were chilling, having a great time drinking and eating amazing food. We were seated in a very cosy private booth and we ordered fried chicken bao and cheeseburger springrolls to start. The fried chicken baos were delicious🙌🏻The chicken was well-seasoned and juicy and the buns were fluffy. The cheeseburger springrolls were so cool - they really tasted like a cheeseburger in a spring roll. For mains we ordered the five spice roast chicken and the crispy skin slow braised pork belly. The roast chicken was juicy and tender and saucy. The pork belly was melt in your mouth with crunchy moreish crackling. So delicious! We finished off with the chilli chocolate brownie with matcha chantilly and the flan. I loved the heat at the back of the throat from the chilli in the brownie and the flan was creamy and satisfying. For drinks we had a raspberry mocktail and an apple juice popcorn syrup mocktail - both were delicious and paired well with the food. Unfortunately our photos do not do the food justice as we had a lighting malfunction but trust me, we enjoyed ourselves very much. I’d love to come back with my friends and have a few drinks and graze and chit chat for hours! Thank you Miss Kuku for the invite 🙏🏻

This was one of the best date nights we’ve had in a while. The food was incredible - generous portions and super tasty, the cocktails were pretty and fun, the atmosphere and service was exceptional and the decor was cheerful! Love, love, LOVED our visit. Will be back for sure. Food highlights were the pillowy soft baos, melt-in-the-mouth pork belly and the crispy churros with Nutella and matcha. 10/10

Was so excited to try the Bottomless drinks and grazing option however it was not good value, drink service was slow and items on the menu never came and with no explanation as to why. Definitely can get better bottomless brunches elsewhere in the area. :(

Wow what an experience! This place is magic. Located on the bustling Chapel Street, you’re a flight of stairs away from amazing cocktails, delicious food and seriously good vibes! I also loved the inside interior & decor of the rooftop! We ordered: Waffle fries Chicken bao Vegan noodles Slow cooked Asian beef short ribs Vegan cheesecake Nutella and Matcha churros We couldn’t fault the food. Everything was presented beautifully and all tasted fantastic. The cocktails were also such a refreshing touch. Highly recommend the delicious Lychee Rose Daiquiri. Can’t wait to come back here and enjoy more great food and good times!

Our first “Date Night” since being able to dine out again and tonight we were delighted to get reacquainted with menu at Miss Kuku. We got one of the comfy booths down the side of this picturesque venue and checked in via QR code. <br/><br/>In booking we had already selected the banquet and dishes we wanted and there was a handy QR code on the table for a drinks service. <br/><br/>The banquet menu we chose had a number of familiar favourites and some smashing new asian fusion dishes to try. We loved the Mac n Cheese squares and the fried calamari which were tender and cane with a mild wasabi mayo. The Deep South fried chicken Bao was positively delicious and that Bao bun softer than our previous visit. <br/><br/>For our main course we shared the delicate Kombu cured Salmon which a citrus burst in the yuzu koshu dressing. This came with sides of charred maple corn cobs and togarashi sesame rice. <br/><br/>Dessert wise our sticky date pudding came with a miso caramel glaze. It had a nice flavour but was a little dry and could have used more dressing to compensate. <br/><br/>We recommend the espresso martinis and also had a great bottle of Tasmania Pinot Noir. <br/><br/>Service was really friendly and food was well spaced over our allotted time so that we didn’t feel rushed throughout. <br/><br/>~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~<br/>Previous Review<br/>Miss Kuku is set up inside the stunning venue that is Hoo Haa bar which offered a super fun surrounds for our dining tonight. Hot off the press the new menu it out and combined many of my favourite asian and American into a happy fusion of flavours. We came here tonight to check out the launch of the new $25 bottomless dinner menu which offers exceptional value with no compromise of quality and flavour. <br/><br/>Favourites on the night included Mac and cheese croquets, the chicken Bao, beef brisket and the bbq chicken. I almost forgot those hot and spicy chicken wings which were also a treat. Vegan & vegetarians were also catered for with a range of salads, tempura broccolini, spicy cauliflower... And many more. I can’t believe I haven’t already mentioned the waffle fries!!!<br/><br/>Drinks wise the venue does amazing cocktails and cocktail jugs and has a good beer list and a healthy spirits collection. For $55 in total you can have both bottomless dinner and drinks and at that price I say go go go. I find it hard to fault anything about tonight’s experience and recommend you give their bottomless dinner and their new menu a go.

The new menu's are amazing, great to see you open again for dinner!

Awesome Asian inspired American BBQ food. Loved the quirky spins on each items. The fried chicken bao is my favourite. Cool place, with great drinks also.

Casual dining place that turns into a dancing place at night. We didn't realize they have a $25 bottomless dinner offer and came to order a-la carte. The burgers were juicy and have great sauces. The popcorn prawn with the spicy mayo sauce also great. Service are friendly and helpful.

Went for dinner with friends, first time, managed to get a booth, waitresses were very welcoming and accommodating for us at the very beginning. Ordered the edamame, mac n cheese squared, cauliflower wedges, tempura broccolini, classic cheeseburger and pulled pork burrito. The edamame was nice, the Mac and cheese squared were delicious with the buttermilk ranch dressing, I think the inside was a bit cold though but still delicious. Cauliflower had a delicious sauce and the raisins gave the dish a nice touch, with the tempura broccolini I found the tempura was a bit dense and needed a lighter batter but the flavor was nice. The classic cheeseburger was nice, very basic, needed a crispy element like bacon, the pulled pork burrito was delicious, the pork was nice and tender, it taste what I thought it would. Overall I liked this place, the food was great but the service was outstanding, pricing was really good and portion sizes were good as well, I’d definitely come back

@misskukuwindsor serving up all this food for only $25 per person #BottomlessDinner 🙊 A great variety of food, designed to share and full of flavour 🤤 You can't go wrong here & will leave satisfied (trust me) 🙌 Thank you for letting me sharing this delicious dining experience with you, I would definitely return! Great value for money and tasty combinations!
The Fo0die
Fo0die dined as a guest of Miss Kuku and as such, the rating does not give any consideration to customer service.<br/><br/>Located inside Hoo Haa Bar, Miss Kuku is the name of the kitchen. We tried and tested out their bottomless dinner which is available on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights for $25 with a two hour limit (they also have a bottomless dinner with drinks for $55).<br/><br/>As part of the bottomless dinner, we were able to order anything off their Asian American BBQ food menu which had snacks such as mac n cheese squares through to burgers to burritos to poke bowls.<br/><br/>Our verdict? Good range of dishes to choose from and great value. Perfect for those after a variety of dishes and value for money.

Went there on a Friday night & had the bottomless dinner ($25pp). Really enjoyed all the food that we ordered and our favourites were the fried chicken wings which comes with a really tasty & savoury chili sauce and the chicken wings were well seasoned. Another favourite was the slow cooked pork belly which was flavourful and tender. For $25, the bottomless dinner was really value for money given the quality and variety of food that you can order. Will definitely recommend it! There is also happy hour during which you can order 2-for-1 cocktails. We ordered the Lychee Rose Daiquiri which was amazing!

If you’re looking for a great place to catch up with mates and eat delicious food then this is a great spot! Situated within HooHaa Bar, this cool vibe restaurant offers great seating and delicious Asian American food. We enjoyed the $25pp bottomless dinner which is an amazing deal! The Mac and cheese croquettes were amazing, along with chicken wings, burgers, chicken bao buns, deep fried prawns & so much more! <br/><br/>Highly recommend getting a group together, it’s definitely a great deal!

Very nice service. American, Asian cuisine are available to get your favorites. Get everything natural, original , tasty, delicious.  <br/> Menus have lots of choice.
Good Food Good Mood
I dined as a guest of Miss Kuku tonight and couldn’t believe the astonishing value they provide with their $25 bottomless dinner! Adding drinks takes it to a very reasonable $55, and for the variety and quality I thoroughly recommend it. The venue itself is well styled and has plenty of atmosphere both inside and out. <br/><br/>My favourites from tonight were the yummy cocktails and the delicious Mac and cheese. I will definitely be back to sample more of the very extensive and appealing menu which is sure to have something to satisfy everyone. At that price point you simple can’t lose
Dine And Dash
Miss Kuku is gorgeous little restaurant tucked away behind the buzzing night club Hoo Has Bar that offers a blend of different cuisines (mainly Asian and American) and serving dishes like Fried Chicken baos, calamari, burgers, poke bowls and plenty of sides! Miss Kuku have recently announced their new promotion of $25 Bottomless Dinner which means unlimited food! There is also an alcohol add on for $55 per person. An incredible valuable and worthwhile offer!<br/><br/>We ordered the Mac N’ Cheese squared, Fried Chicken Wings, Deep South Chicken Bao, BBQ Chicken and Beef Brisket Lettuce Cups, Chicken Katsu Burger and a Salmon Poke Bowl. For sides, we had BBQ corn, tempura broccolini and Smack Chocolate Brownie for dessert.<br/><br/>The Mac N’Cheese was hot and crunchy and was served with a gorgeous ranch dressing. The Fried Chicken Wings were Szechuan chilli salt, lemongrass, chilli, ginger and kaffir lime. The wings were nice and tender and all of the flavours on the plate mixed so well together. Next, the DIY Chicken Baos were awesome and definitely one of our favourite meals! The dish came with a generous serving of fried chicken and purple cabbage slaw - the baos were fluffy and soft and the house BBQ sauce was sensational. <br/><br/>Both the Beef Brisket and BBQ Chicken Lettuce cups were served with pickled cucumber, chilli, daikon, red radish, fennel and cabbage slaw. The beef brisket was definitely our favourite - the meat was soft, tender and succulent and the meal was extremely refreshing and enjoyable. The chilli jam sauce really hit the spot!<br/><br/>For mains, the poké bowl was gorgeous! The house-cured salmon was fresh and flavoursome and the avocado and corn were the best additions to the meal. The Garlic Soy Ginger Dressing wasn’t too sweet and went perfectly with the salmon. The Chicken Katsu Burger was a hearty meal with the chicken crumbed with parmesan and the tasty cheese melted on the burger. The brioche bun was also a good choice.<br/><br/>Finally, dessert. The brownie was absolutely delicious, the freshness of the strawberries and the creaminess of the ice cream were the perfect combination with that delicious brownie. Dusted with icing sugar, it was the perfect dish to end a great feast!<br/><br/>The waitress who served us was very friendly and made some great suggestions for food. The service was quick and we left feeling very satisfied. Thank you, Miss Kuku, for having us! We had such a good time.

This place is amazing! I didn't believe it when I heard about a Bottomless Dinner for just $25 but we tried it, and it's real. Booked this place for myself and a few mates as a small birthday get together a few weeks back. We definitely took advantage of the unlimited dishes of food, ordered a few cocktails and then moved upstairs for a dance. Would definitely recommend for a night out or big feed. Venue is funky, staff great and food delicious!

ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT $25 - bottomless dinners from Thursday to Saturday the incredible @misskukuwindsor is offering this amazing deal overloaded with incredible dishes like mac’n’cheese squares, chicken wings, cauliflower wedges with buffalo hot sauce or KFC prawns (omg so big and juicy) with their special animal sauce and ginger caramel - it’s honestly too good to pass up!! 😍🤤 pair it with a cocktail for a perfect night! #invite

How has something that's such great value gone unnoticed for so long!? Hubby and I came to try the bottomless dinner and for $25 per person, the value is simply unbeatable! And they don't skimp on the quality of the food either, everything was fresh, well cooked and well presented. <br/><br/>Highlights were: fried chicken wings, KFC prawns and the bbq corn.

Bottomless Dinner with the most amazing food. I cannot fault Miss Kuku. The menu is one of the best around, high quality produce at an unbeatable price! Miss Kuku is a venue that everyone MUST visit.

Miss KuKu has been around on Chapel street for ages now. A staple in the area as a bar and restaurant.Their vibes, drinks, and food has always been great. The thing I'm most excited about, however, is the new bottomless dinner they've launched. An all you can eat concept including all their menu for $25.Went with a group of friends to try it out and was very impressed! The minion is satisfied!

Delicious Chapel Street Venue!<br/><br/>Can't recommend the $25 Bottomless Dinner enough! <br/>Bottomless Brunch? No way! Bottomless Dinner is where it's at!<br/><br/>It's hard to pick highlights, as a vegetarian - I'd have to recommend: <br/>- Cauliflower wedges <br/>- Tempura brocollini<br/>- Vegetarian Burger<br/>- Vegetarian Tofu Poke Bowl<br/>- Vegetarian Burrito<br/><br/>Delicious, will be back soon!
@foodtom
$25 bottomless brunch, seriously. That's awesome value. Everything was incredibly tasty and absolutely blew me and my friends away. My Favourite was the pork belly which simply just melted in your mouth. Top place.

I had the most awesome time at Miss KuKu trying their Bottomless Dinner. After ascending the stairs, I was amazed by how funky and lively the venue was. We were escorted to a private booth which was a lovely space to dine. <br/><br/>Their food is insanely cheap, it’s almost too good to be true! We had a hard time deciding what to order, but our waiter patiently went through the whole menu and recommended us dishes.<br/><br/>The Mac ’N’ Cheese Squared is one of their signature menu items, and it’s definitely not to miss! Served with ranch dressing and made with four different types of cheeses, it’s so decadent and creamy, and extremely crispy on the outside. <br/><br/>The Fried Chicken Wings were also highly recommended to us and it didn’t disappoint! Flavoured with Szechuan chilli salt, I really enjoyed the fun play on Asian-fusion. The wings were very crispy and very tender and juicy on the inside. Definitely a winner!<br/><br/>The Deep South-Chicken Bao was absolutely delicious. The southern fried chicken was cooked perfectly and not dry at all. The bass were so fluffy and warm, and went really well with the American-style fillings. It’s also a very filling dish, but I highly recommend it!<br/><br/>The Cauliflower Wedges are a chef favourite - a very unique take on cauliflower, which is deep fried, and coated in hot sauce, raisins and miso mayo. I honestly don’t even know how to describe this dish, but I really enjoyed it!<br/><br/>We decided to try one of their specialty burgers and went for the Cali-Jap. A fusion of American and Japanese flavours, this burger did not disappoint! I loved the fried egg which still had a runny yolk. But I would’ve liked it if the wasabi was more prominent as I didn’t really taste wasabi in the burger.<br/><br/>We had the Tempura Broccolini on the side too. The broccolini is deep fried, the batter is very thick, light and crispy. And there’s a mountain-load of cheese snow and soy mayo on top. Definitely not a dish for the health-conscious!<br/><br/>Although we were extremely full already, we had to try the Apple Cheesecake Chimichanga. It did not disappoint! It’s basically a warm deep fried pastry roll, filled with apple cheesecake cream, and served with vanilla ice cream. You really can’t go wrong with this!<br/><br/>Thank you so much for having us!

Love the food here. Windsor is full of great places to eat but this is a great place to eat and drink! Loved the burgers and the burritos. 🤤
Eat_today_diet_tomorrow
EVERY single dishes we had were exceptional, to name a few of our favourites: deep south chicken bao, cauliflower wedges and house cured salmon poke bowl. They also do $25 bottomless food and $55 bottomless food/drinks. That is so cheap! If you are big eaters looking for amazing food and place with cool funky vibes, we definitely recommend this place.
Burgers Of Melbourne
The BEST value and quality Bottomless Dinner in Melbourne. $25 for a 2 hour seating of unlimited fried chicken, unlimited burgers, pork belly, prawns, loaded fries, baos, burrito's and more. I didn't think it was real until I visited myself - an offer that I thought was too good to be true. IT IS DEFINITELY REAL!! They don't discount on the quality either - the food is actually awesome!! Highly Recommend!
Cheesy.boys
Hidden gem of a place! All you can eat for just $25 and the quality of the food is top notch. The Chicken Katsu Burger provides spot on Japanese flavours and the DIY bao’s were really fresh and juicy.

I've been to many Bottomless Brunches, but was so excited when I heard that Miss Kuku on Chapel is offering a Bottomless Dinner menu. What's even better is that it's only $25! The venue is funky, buzzing atmosphere and staff are so attentive. We tried a variety of dishes from the menu including the wings, mac and cheese squares, edamame, tempura broccollini (YUM) and more! Everything was delicious and I love the idea that we can order plenty of dishes to share and taste! Would definitely recommend!

$25 bottomless dinner !?!?!? We couldn't say no to that. Visited Miss Kuku on a busy Saturday night for their bottomless menu. <br/><br/>- Ambience - <br/>It was such a busy and loud atmosphere considering everyone was trying to get lit on a Saturday night and drinking it up hahaha. Other than that we were seated at a small booth which we thought was perfect for us. <br/><br/>- Food - <br/>The whole experience with the bottomless menu was great! <br/>We ordered:<br/>Mac N' Cheese Squared ($8)<br/>2 serves of Fried Chicken Wings ($10 each)<br/>Deep South Chicken Bao ($14) <br/>Calamari ($13)<br/>Bao Lettuce Cup: Beef Brisket ($11)<br/>Burrito: Beef Brisket ($13.5)<br/>Apple Cheesecake Chimichanga ($9) <br/><br/>Everything tasted better than we expected for a bottomless dinner menu. Tried the $25 bottomless dinner here the other night and I had such a delicious experience! <br/>We stayed off with the lychee daiquiris and white choc Belgium martini! If you love fruity cocktails you’ll defs love the daiquiri ! <br/>We decided to try the fried chicken bao, Mac and cheese squares, tempura brocollini, japcal burger, chicken wings and cauliflower wedges and that feast was just amazing. <br/>- standouts were defs true chicken wings and also the mac and cheese squares with 5 different cheeses !!! They satisfied ALLL my cheat day cravings 😍 The Apple cheesecake dessert was also super delicious and finished off the meal perfectly ! <br/>The waiter also took to much time to explain the dishes to us which I really appreciated :)<br/><br/>Can’t wait to come back!
Quince And Cheese
Visited early on a Friday night. Service was a bit slow at first, but after asking whether we were meant to order at the counter, staff were very attentive. Got the nasu burger, tempeh and cauliflower, and curry tots to share. Tots came first- what a surprisingly great combination. Whoever thought to top potato gems with Japanese curry sauce (and crispy curry leaves) was smart. My only complaint here is that they needed more sauce than was given. The burger was pretty underwhelming. The bun was greasy, the eggplant didn't seem great quality (was hoping for eggplant tempura- not the eggplant equivalent of a potato cake), and the one slice of rubbery, unmelted cheese was a weird addition. Tempeh and cauliflower, on the other hand, was great. Both had really great flavour. There were only five tiny pieces of tempeh in the whole dish, sadly. I get that it's more expensive than tofu, but for a dish that's over $15, a bit more would be appreciated.

It may have taken a while to get to my mouth, but I've found the best southern fried bao buns on the planet. I think this is my new favourite place for a quick meal after work. Definitely a local gem!

Booked in for the 50% off Tuesday dining. Drinks were cheap and all food was half price. 3 people ate for $60 with lots and lots of food and 2 drinks each! I would definitely return for these great deals.<br/>Staff are REALLY friendly and helpful!<br/>Food is good considering what we paid.<br/>Menu items ordered and ratings:<br/>Mac and cheese bites 8/10<br/>Curly fries with gravy and cheese 6/10<br/>Cheeseburger dumplings 5/10<br/>Garlic prawn dumplings 5/10<br/>Peking Duck bao 5/10<br/>Chicken bao 6/10<br/>Beef taco 6/10<br/>Pork belly 3/10 (VERY small portion for $18 full price)<br/>Will be back for another Tuesday night cheap eat!<br/><br/>

Cool place on Chapel food is tasty but can be abit unhealthy I felt abit sick after leaving, alot of heavy dishes.... <br/>The little tacos were nice and the bao was yum.
Heidi
Booked a table online for Kuku Mama recently for dinner with friends, another find in my entertainment book! It's pretty relaxed service, they have you mark off what you would like on the menu and hand it to your server. The highlights for me were the Peking duck bao with pickled cucumber and hoisin, and also surprisingly the hot chips - they came with sweet chili, soy, sesame and spring onion - delicious! The only constructive thing I would note is that there is a section of the menu that is called 'plates' we assumed these would be bigger serves good to share, compared to the other sections like bao, tacos etc. We ordered the calamari and prawns, it was so incredibly small, I think there was all of three pieces of calamari and three prawns. Otherwise a great place to go with friends.

This restaurant runs all kinds of discount dining. Booked there twice on separate occasions and they came back with lame excuses after confirming the reservation that they have to cancel the reservation citing kitchen not functioning and they have last minute renovations. Suspect as they fill the restaurant with guest, they push out the confirmed discounted bookings they accepted earlier . Not trying a 3rd time !
Loves To Brunch
Amazing food quick service great cocktails will defiantly be back!!! The food came out within 10mins of ordering amazing and fresh! Try the pork belly and cheeseburger dumplings! <br/>

Located at stop 44 upstairs just a short walk from Windsor station in chapel st near Mr Miyaki is Kuku Mama, a resturanty bar that has been on our radar since they posted a $10-ish bites event late last year. With ambient lighting, there's the dinning room, booths that line the side, communal tables by the kitchen and a rooftop smoking garden. So many cool spots! We sat in the dinning room.
Nicholas Renwick
Pretty cool place, with nice atmosphere and staff. We went for a late Valentine's Day dinner, it was busy so we did have to wait a little for food, but that was ok. The food was decent but not all the flavours worked for me, it was all fresh and hot however. The cocktails are nice! We had a discount offer on the food, otherwise it would be a little pricey.
Shlomi
Great Friday celebration with fun atmosphere and unique flavours in small plates for sharing.<br/>We had the chicken bao, which was not traditional but unique and tasty. Same can be said about the cheeseburger dumpling, nice and special way to enjoy the burger flavour in steam. Tacos were nice, but not amazing. We enjoyed the salad with the peanuts and coconuts the most.<br/>Cool place for drinks, hanging out with friends and snack a bit.

All was pretty good until we got to a seriously underwhelming pork belly.... skin was tough as hell, meat was bland and served not-quite-hot. What pulled the food here down from what could've been 3.5-4 down to this 2.5 rating was the questionable kale with the pork belly. Literally tasted like we were chewing a cigarette butt. I'm not even kidding
Bopnbeep
Delicious well priced cocktails including the classic expresso martini. We only came here for drinks but the food looked fresh and tasty. Service was good and the bartender was more than happy to give his recommendation.

Had delivery from here. My order: Chicken Wings, Szechuan Chilli Salt, Bootleg Sauce (Large) at $14 and the <br/>Southern Fried Chicken, Slaw, BBQ Sauce (3 buns) at $14. It was tasty but just a bit too expensive. I just think 3 buns for $14 is a little steep. This meal delivered pretty well, there was a generous amount of chicken with the buns. Of course I would order again even though its a bit harsh on the pocket, and I have ordered many times,  I think its a great menu here.
Nathan
Kuku Mama has a great ambience and a very cool selection of mexican/Asian inspired food, however despite eating here about 5 times I've never been 100% completely satisfied with the meal. That's not to say they don't have tasty items on thier menu ( the chicken ribs were to die for!), however due to the small meals you're having to order a selection of 2 or 3. Unfortunately I've not had a complete meal where every selection made me go "wow, that was fantastic". <br/>So on the whole, I can most certainly recommend trying it out, however maybe wait till the half price locals night on Tuesday!

Don't know why the low reviews but we popped by while waiting for a table at Mr. Miyagi and really enjoyed ourselves.<br/>The outside courtyard was cool without being too packed.<br/>We ordered the lobster corn dog which had actual chunks of tail in it, maybe more langoustine, but that's a lobster of sorts, and the mac and cheese squares, the sauce on these were amazing.<br/>But the best part were the $10 espresso martinis...who can complain about that? Hopefully it's not just a special cos we're going to come back to try the other cocktails. Definitely a hidden gem for me.
Dino
I ordered some food Sunday night which I thought I'd try something different than standard Chinese Take-out. I dunno why I waited sooo long for my food untill it got here then it all made sense.<br/>I ordered some cheeseburger dumplings as a starter which are good in theory and a cool concept with little pickles on them but they were not cooked all the way through.<br/>I got the beef burger for a main which was terrible and im not picking with burgers I mean beef, cheese and sauce and its done win/win but my paddy was burnt charcoal styles and its meant to be wagyu beef. So the bun was burnt too of course and had too much sauce to maybe hide the surprise of burnt bad burger. The bun was also sloppy and wet from the sauce. <br/>I also ordered the calamari salad which looks like left over dirty peaces of fish from a bad fish'n chip shop but Im paying way tooo much.<br/><br/>The fries were good but keep scrolling do yourself a favour and DON'T TRY THIS PLACE EVER.
Munching Melbourne
We were seated straight away on a Saturday night even without a booking. The menu offers street style food with a quirky twist. The cheeseburger dumplings caught our eye and we decided it was a must try. Flavours were good but the beef in the dumpling was quite dry. The croquettes were...

Fallen in love with this place! There menu is different and interesting with loads of variety! Staff are on point. Super friendly and happy to help! Can't say a bad word. Highly recommend the burger dumplings and superparma!

Get a booth when you go to this place. Great atmosphere, great food and tasty drinks! They are really accommodating with food allergies and so helpful - I informed them I have a nut allergy and they went above and beyond to help me out (see attached picture showing how helpful they were) thank you for making my experience so enjoyable!! Recommend the burger dumplings and fried chicken bao. Will definitely come back.

Walking up the flight of wooden stairs and off to to the right, kuku mama is situated well off the side walk. This eclectic eatery serves dishes you would expect to order from food trucks and eat as street food, but all with interesting twists. The most interesting dishes are it's dumplings that come in weird flavours including its most famous the hamburger dumpling.<br/><br/>We ordered quite a considerable amount of food between 4, each choosing a different combination, unsure of portion sizes we just took our chances.<br/><br/>First thing to arrive was croquettes,<br/>: crab, potato, spring onion with a gribiche sauce. Deep fried till it's crispy, these are always a winner, after all who doesn't like fried and crumbed potato. Couldn't really taste the crab but the filling had a nice flavour to it and the sauce went well. It was a good start.<br/><br/><br/>Next came the tacos, my spiced chicken with bail mayo and pickled onion was okay, the chicken was not very well seasoned, the sauce was quite mild, it ended up tasting like a mouthful of tasteless food with lashings of mayo. The slow cooked pork was much the same, the meat wasn't flavorful, all I could taste was a sweet sauce with crispy red cabbage. <br/><br/>Next came the Mac and cheese squares. Soft and delicious baked Mac and cheese cut into squares, crumbed and deep fried they were delicious with a topping of some red sauce. <br/><br/>Out came the crinkle cut chips with soy sauce, honey, spring onion, sesame and chili. An interesting sauce to put on chips it was unique and not unpleasant. The chips were crispy and the sauce made it fascinating to eat, not a bad combination but not entirely convincing. I certainly won't be replicating the sauce for fries at home.<br/><br/>Next came the two steamed bao. The first was the soft shell crab with kewpie mayo and kuku kimchi which drowned in mayo, the crab was nice once I removed a large glob of mayo. The second was the Peking roast duck with pickled cucumber and hoisin sauce which was quite nice, tasted like normal Chinese food. <br/><br/>Out came the main event, the dish that everyone was excited about, the cheeseburger dumplings that the restaurant is famous for. With some Bobby John sauce and a pickle on top it smelly like the real deal, identical to a cheeseburger. the taste however was like a second class cheeseburger, the meat was tough and tasteless, the only flavour came from the sauce and pickle. The dumpling skin gave it a slightly slimy feel, not my ideal cheeseburger. I think I'll stick to maccas if I want a proper cheeseburger experience.<br/><br/>The other two dumplings we ordered was the sweet potato, shitake and enoki dumpling and the teriyaki chicken with crumbed twisties. The mushroom dumplings were tasteless and had to be fixed with soy sauce. The chicken dumplings were okay, nothing special and just tasted as anticipated. <br/><br/>My friends ordered two burgers, the wagyu burger and Japanese inspired chicken burger (part of their specials menu). I only got to taste the chicken burger which I enjoyed. <br/><br/>The last dish to arrive was the grilled corn, potato, mascarpone, provolone and chili. I usually expect any dish with corn to be amazing because really everyone loves grilled corn. It's so easy to make corn taste amazing, ask you need is a little butter and some salt. Somehow they managed to present this uninspiring tasteless dish which we struggled to push down. The corn looked like it was grilled on the cob in house, and was nicely lightly charred for flavour. However the quality of the corn was lacking, no flavour and no sweetness to the corn which was the must disappointing. Everybody also loves roasted potatoes, the diced potato cubes were also tasteless, not even the cheese could save this dish.<br/><br/>Thankfully we stayed for dessert. The tapioca pudding with sweet corn ice cream, toffee chard and puffed rice was delicious! A great delicate corn flavour in combo with coconut cream. I had the choc berry, chocolate mousse with chocolate crumble and raspberry sorbet. The delicious mix of 60% dark chocolate with slightly sour raspberry sorbet always hits the spot, this did not disappoint. The chocolate crumbs added crunch and texture to the experience. The mousse was smooth and fluffy, just amazing.<br/><br/>So overall the meal wasn't the best, but we experienced some interesting dishes, quite a few duds but also got to eat some amazing dishes. I think next time I'm in the area I'll be stopping here just for dessert.

Walked in after being told of a 2/2.5 hr wait at Mr Miyagi and Hawker Hall. Balinese curry was good, could have a bit more salt. Duck bao and salmon taco were nothing to write home about. Good service and reasonably priced wine.

Kuku Mama has a 25% off total bill voucher from the Entertainment Book (EB) which brings us to our next little EB dinner adventure. So if you are the owner of an Entertainment Book, you must check this place out. The place serves amazing tapas food to share and even turns into a night club late night on Friday’s and Saturdays if you feel like a good feed before dancing the night away. Best of all, they have cheeseburger dumplings on the menu.

Decided to check this place out after being told of a 2+ hour wait for a popular neighbouring restaurant. Wasn't disappointed at all by the food but wasn't blown away either. The service was a very friendly and attentive though and the food did come out relatively fast
I Love Food
Enjoyed dinner with a friend here. Funky place that serves share plates from all over the world. We enjoyed the dumplings (teriyaki & cheeseburger - you've got to try the cheeseburger ones, they are interesting), southern fried chicken bao was delicious, the tacos were good also - we had the chicken, prawn and pork - my favourite was the pork - the slow cooked pork along with crackling in the same taco was tasty and crunchy! We finished off with dessert - tapioca pudding & choc berry. I enjoyed a really good cocktail also - Chucalacalaca (spelling may be wrong) - coconut tequila and ginger and lime. Food and service was great, would be happy to return again to enjoy their happy hour cocktails and make my way through the rest of their delicious menu. In the current entertainment book so a nice discount at the end when you get your bill.

Kuku Mama, is a place for fat pants. You know the pair? The pants with the loose fitting waist band, designed for housing post-feed bellies. Get yours ready, because Kuku Mama is a place for carb loving devotees. The temporary pop-up kitchen can be found at the rear of Hoo Haa bar in Windsor. Expect quirky fusion dishes, inspired from Asian street food and North American food trucks. It’s real tasty. It’s food that’ll make you lean back and whisper ‘yaaasssss’. The quirkiest of all, is the cheeseburger dumplings. The rest of the sharing menu consists of loaded fries, tacos and all things finger lickin’ good. The space itself a psychadelic mix of vibrant murals, dimly lit lighting and patterned walls. Completely fitting for the creative menu. I hope this experimental kitchen is here to stay.

Where has this place been hiding all along?  All we can say is WOW!?!<br/><br/>From the first moment of stomping up the steps and stepping inside, both my wife and I were truly impressed by the striking design of the interior, which was visually stunning and breath-taking.<br/><br/>Having arrived shortly after 8:30pm, we were not too sure of what too expect - was this a night-club, was this a bar, was this a restaurant?  In short, it was all of the above, but you could make it any experience that you wanted.  We were attended to promptly and taken to a table by a friendly waitress who then passed us to another friendly waitress who discussed how the process of ordering food and drink worked.  Sounded simple enough, and the range of food was astounding.  :)  What made the service even better was the offer of placing my wife and I into a booth, which was just being cleaned and prepared, to which we both accepted.<br/><br/>The booth was awesome - not secluded or anything, but very nicely placed in the main area and very visible to all staff who were most accommodating for anything that we needed - extra drinks, extra food orders, or even just to check on us to make sure that all of our needs were met.  We were very impressed by the attentive service.<br/><br/>Foodwise, the tastes and choices are absolutely superb.  We started with the house-made cheeseburger dumplings, which were an incredible texture and tasted...like a cheeseburger - very impressive!!  The New Orleans tacos were next on the list, which were filled generously with well cooked chicken lavishly covered with avocado and cheddar cheese - yummo!!  The Animal Fries serving was HUGE, and I must admit that the cheddar mixed with onion and Thousand Island dressing works extremely well - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.  :)<br/><br/>The Hot&spicy chicken ribs topped things off perfectly - quite spicy indeed (too spicy for my wife, but she still managed to eat two of the ribs) - the portion sizes were very generous, in which you get six good quality ribs with decent amounts of meat on each rib.  Very tasty, great sauces and you'll enjoy these for sure.  :)<br/><br/>But above all else, the dessert was the prime favourite for both of us - Choc Berry.  This is an ABSOLUTE MUST to complement any dinner and truly tastes like a Cherry Ripe on steroids.  Whoever designed this is an absolute genius and ought to be commended - I would love to meet them one day!!  :)<br/><br/>We will definitely be back and we think we have found one of our favourite destinations in Windsor thus far - this is truly a well-hidden secret that you need to make the effort to walk up the stairs and find (well hidden next to a yoga studio, but don't be fooled!!).  Cheers and enjoy!!  :D

Nice bar / restaurant serving some standard pub fare and Asian Fusion grub.<br/>We had two small and two large plates and all were well received.

The cocktails there are really nice, we were there for a Friday happy hour, which has a really good deal on the drinks. We sat out in the beer garden which was lovely 👌

Fried mac n cheese squares, cheese burger dumplings, diy fried chicken bao buns. If any of these light a fire in your loins you'll love Kuku Mama. <br/>So easy to miss on chapel, head on up the hoohaa steps and prepare yourself for a food coma induced by Melbourne's culinary bad boy, Matthew Butcher. He plays by nobody's rules. <br/>There is also a secluded courtyard just made for drinking 2 for 1 cocktails and $5 pints

Absolutely amazing! Great food and drinks. Service is lovely too. The animal fries and cheeseburger dumplings are a must! Definitely recommend coming here.

I love the vibe of this place! It's casual and relaxed but cool and happening at the same time. Great place to share a pitcher of cocktails with a friend and order little tastes of various foods to munch on. We tried the animal fries (very nice), deep fried chicken bao (delicious!!), cheeseburger dumplings (average), chicken dumpling (the favourite!), fish taco, beef taco, chicken taco (all decent), potato and corn entree salad (amazing!!), calamari and citrus salad (also amazing!), South Central hangar steak (very tasty). <br/>Can't wait to go back!

Great place for a group of friends to share food and have some drinks. We sat in a small booth and service was great. We only had a small bite which included the soft shell crab buns and the teppanyaki dumplings with the twisties on top. The buns were delicious and moderately portioned compared to Kong BBQ. Flavoursome, delicate and soft. However with the dumplings, they were dry and the twisties tasted stale. Not a favourite. I would come back for other menu items and try some of their drinks.

This place is a bit of a hit and miss. <br/>Great vibe, at the bar of HooHaa bar, the service is good and quick. There is a menu card on the table for your to tick and order what you like, but there is no pen/pencil on the table. Not just our table, none of the tables we checked. So we had to wave down the waiter. Kinda defeats the purpose!<br/>With the food, here is what Not to order. First up, the cheese burger dumpling was inventive but not amazing. The soff shell crab bun sticks to your teeth and you can't really tell it was soft shell crab! The pickles were quite good though. Forgot the ribs - absolute disaster. Thick batter surrounded the tiny pieces of ribs that were hardly seasoned. The sauce was good but it was all soaked up in the batter. Totally wasted. Here is What to order: The saving grace was the skirt steak with chimmichuri. Best $17 I have ever spent and would not have blinked to pay double that. Perfectly charred, perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked. It was absolutely perfect. I will come again just for a wine an steak and perhaps check out the interesting dessert menu.<br/>Finally, is it Kuku Mama or is it HooHaa? When we got here the drinks menu on the table is from HooHaa. And when we were leaving, we paid at the bar at HooHaa. <br/>Great promise, just sort out the little things and it will be a good place to come with a group of mates.

Great menu, modern Asian inspired street food. <br/>Recommend: You must try the Kinder club. Salted caramel ice cream, rainbow bread & honeycomb. Yum!

Maybe I'm just not used to it but the chicken buns were very odd: gluey buns and fatty thigh meat. The cheeseburger dumplings sounded good in theory but were again.. odd. The chips were nice minus the tart sauce - moght order again and try a few more things to see if my opinion changes!

We just ordered at Kuku Mama and what a surprise ! Food is just delicious, looks like little tapas from Spain ! It is pretty cheap for the quality as well. <br/>We will definitively order again ! Long life to Kuku mama ! <br/>Special thanks to one of the cook Jack, he is the man ! <br/>Yann & Aurora

Best fried chicken ever. Awesome bar, tasty cheap food and great staff. The chicken Bao and fried ribs were the best we've tried in a long time, really generous size and cheap. Hope it stays this way when people find out about this pop up at the back of Hoo haa.

Cheeseburger dumplings are a must! The chicken and twisties dumplings however were a bust. Tacos weren't outstanding but also not bad, the bao was the winner with the chicken and slaw with chipotle being the standout! (I added a little squeeze of lemon for an extra little kick!) overall nice, different and makes for an interesting foodie experience!

Yummy Street Food. Really tasty food and loved that we could have different things like tacos and dumplings. Really interesting as well, loved the Chicken Bao, 3 buns for $11, couldn't fault it. Awesome cocktails too! A new favourite

Lacking flavour and finesse. I was lured by the idea of cheeseburger dumplings which were both interesting and tasty... But the rest fell flat. <br/><br/>We were the only table in the restaurant yet it still took them about 20 mins to notice we were ready to order - even though we had placed our tick-list face down on the table as requested. <br/><br/>The rest of our group of 4 really enjoyed their soft shell crab bao, but I made the mistake of ordering the absolutly tastless tofu bao, which had 3 tiny cubes of tofu and a portion of iceberg lettuce inside. I thought it was just a case of 'not for me' but my Texas beef short rib taco had almost an identical flavour - nothing! The staff had to be reminded about the 4th taco in our order. <br/>The Mac and cheese squares had potential but seriously lacked seasoning with salt, and unfortunately the inside was a gluey, grey mess. <br/><br/>We tried both desserts on the menu - churro which were more like bomboloni and tasted quite nice with their cinnamon sugar coating. The salted caramel ice cream in the Kinder dessert was delicious but the rainbow sandwich was, again, unfortunately completely tasteless. <br/><br/>Overall it was an ok meal and worth trying the unique cheeseburger dumplings, but we won't be back again.

Very disappointing. Came along expecting great things- very disappointed.<br/><br/>Our orders (both food and beverage) mixed up on multiple attempts at entertaining a group of 8.<br/>still waiting for a refund on the overpriced bottle of bubbles that was never delivered to our table.<br/><br/>Recommend you avoid.

Best delivered food on Earth. Best delivery food I have ever ate / will ever eat. Phenomenal service, incredibly responsible and generous, will never stop coming here!

Worth trying. I ordered a home delivery and I must say, I wasn't disappointed. The chicken ribs were delicious, so with the soft-shell crab bao and the chicken bao. The fish taco was not to my liking, but that's a matter of taste. For the price, I simply can't complain. I hope they stay true to their formula before the crowd took over the place.
Anna
Awesome flavours. For 2 people we tried 3 items from the menu - beef tacos, cheeseburger dumplings and soft shell crab bao which were excellent. So much flavour, interesting ingredients and excellent presentation. We also had a curry, main size which was just okay. Next time I would skip the main and try a couple of the smaller items. It was $45 for the above which was very reasonable considering the quality. Really enjoyed this meal.
