Excellent place for dinner or lunch. Great food and service. Always a pleasure to visit. Nice neutral decor, clean and spacious. Unlike other restaurants of this type there is easy parking and plenty of space inside. Very well priced too with a couple around $25. Give it a try sometime.
Been going here for 15 years and it has always been consistently good. In the top 5 for chicken rice in Perth for sure. Oh and good portions too!
Very good local place in Winthrop.
The boss who runs this place provide pretty good service.
Place is clean and hygienic unlike most chinese/malaysians eateries.
Would recommend this place to anyone. No-fuss and easy place for dining in or takeaway.
Ordered the chai tow kuey, vegetarian mee hoon, tahu goreng, roti chanai and teh tarik. The chai tow kuey and mee hoon were delicious. The tahu goreng was way too hot for me and the roti was too thick. Nice teh tarik. Great prices. Overall, quite happy with Hawker's Cafe and I'll definitely return.
Decent Cai Tao Kuey (Fried Carrot Cake) and Hot Malaysia Coffee. My partner had Prawn Noodle and it was good. I see some items that are not the usual items offered by Asian cafe such as tamarind chicken and cincalok fried rice. Will come back again to try more.
Must try chai tow kuey, if u like it hot, request extra chilli.. The last time i went passed is still under relocation (moving next to the oriental place). Which is bigger, cant wait when it reopen!
They've moved to a new place.. Just a few steps away and it is so much nicer, fresh and spacious. Food is as good as before :) try their char kway teow!
Average. The food is average and pretty yummy for its price. The worst dish was the roast pork rice, pork was tough and dry and the fat layer sticks to your teeth like glue, and the worst of all was the crackle! Almost broke my teeth trying to bite into it when it should be crispy.
Authentic. Food is always good. Family favourite resturant.
Singapore laksa was amazing not too spicy but it tasted really authentic...and cheap too...
Have eaten here several times. I have always been happy with the food and the bill.
Great food. The chai tau kway and seafood fried rice are personal favourites of mine, with the former being something you simply must try!!
Great little find!. Having walked past this place every day for the last nine months today we decided to walk past no longer. And so glad we did! Thoroughly enjoyable and tasty Malaysian food at a great pocket pleasing price.
I had the Beef rendang and although this style of cooking is new to me the meat just melted in my mouth and the flavours buzzed. Hubby had the Mei Fun and that too was very good. Littlie had a bit of both and ate every bit :-)
I was interested in trying this place once I found out they sell cendol.
The menu has more of a Hong Kong flair than a Malaysian one, particularly with the pineapple buns out in the cabinet by the entrance. They even have one filled with BBQ pork, which I also tried and liked. They have a breakfast menu which has a macaroni soup but it's only available on Saturday. I ordered from the counter and came back after doing some groceries.
I ended up grabbing a wonton noodle soup as well as a Hokkien mee and a char kweh tiew. The Malaysian food was alright. It did have pork rind in it which was a pleasant surprise. I really liked their wonton noodle soup. Both the wontons and the soup had a nice fragrance and flavour. The cendol was great and refreshing, which a sweet coconut flavour, and had red bean mixed in with it.
It was a nice place for food even though it's not "authentic" Malaysian.
I went for the brisket and tendon dry, ( it was a big serve and I got the extra noodles for $2.50 on top of it) better than any I've had in Hong Kong and as good as I've had at Causeway Point in Singapore when I went there with Wong Sahmui many years ago⁉️👍👌first time for the pomegranate juice, not bad 👏👏👏loved it guys thanks very much.
Great casual restaurant that serves hawker style food from Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong. Prompt service. Choice of indoor or outdoor seating.
Food was good and service was reasonably fast. Prices were reasonable. Will likely visit again.
Latest edit: 15 Jun 22 - Food still amazing over the past years. Love their Fried Carrot Cake
& Chicken rice.
First time here due to Google reviews & Facebook recommendation from Malaysian Food Lover group... My wife & I are definitely NOT disappointed! Their Fried Carrot Cake is so tasty & authentic. Probably the best I've tasted in Perth so far 5/5. Seafood Hor Fun is pretty good too 4/5.
Their hot milk tea & Cold Coffee Cham are also pretty yummy 4.5/5. Loved it.
Overall I rate this place a solid 5/5. Their service are also prompt & approachable.
Btw they also sell rice dumplings ($3.50 each & it's value for money 4/5), pineapple buns (3/5), egg tarts (4.5/5) & cabbage buns (haven't tried) .
Great little cafe with quick service and friendly staff. We got the laksa and beef brisket noodle soup which was outstanding. Very cheap aswell and I will definitely be back.
Such a beautiful weather sitting in their alfresco area with yummy Chinese brunch :) nothing much to say, just enjoyable
Had char kway teow and vegetarian fried glass noodles. Both were quite tasty. Service was quick and very friendly despite the place being packed for lunch hour.
