Never fails to please. Great new location across the road!! Food is great and varied!! My fav go to when i'm back in the gong. Highly recommend the spring rolls, salt and pepper squid, sate chicken and rice!!
I have been eating here since I could remember, I live almost 30 minutes away from Wollongong but I will drive there just for their food. Amazing. You guys have never given me a bad dish!
[100001047949798:Robert Yelvington] and I would agree there is no better place in Australia
Always our go to place for amazing Chinese Food...we eat there at least once a week....have recently tried the pork ribs with plum sauce.....Unbelievable!!!
One of my favourite places to get Asian food, great atmosphere and really great for quiet intimate meals with your loved ones. Food is cheap and delicious. Highly recommend this place.
Easily accommodated for our family of 7 with 2 highchairs. Quick, Friendly service. Delicious as always. Cheap, generous portions. A family favorite!
Best food around! Always fast service and great food for an affordable price
I have not eaten here but my daughter has brought home some honey chicken and rice and it was amazing would love to try sometimes soon with James
Best chinese joint in the world!. I am 22 and have been coming here since I was 6.
Been eating here for 20 years. Marvellous joint. Cheap and cheerful.
i’ve been coming here ever since i was a little kid and it’s always been so good!! they’ve moved to a new store just across and down the road, but the food and service is still really good.
My favourite restaurant during university days... I have been coming here since the first time they opened in the 90s and now everytime I go back to Wollongong I have to make the trip down memory lane... The food has been consistent in quality after all these years... Price has not changed much either... My favourite back in the days was Large Fried Rice, because it tastes very nice, cheap and big portion... Fried Chicken with Tomato Rice and also the Hainan Chicken Rice are also good... I love the rice dishes more and hardly ever tried the noodle dishes...
Cheap Asian, generally good, we ask for no added msg, because sometimes it burns the amount that's on the food, but generally a quick easy place to eat
Been here 3 times in the past 2 weeks. It such a comfort food with cheap price, big portion and tasty. I recommend anything with wonton (i was order it twice), their wontons were superb. It filled hioko mushroom, pork and prawns. Their noodle soup is hongkong style. Last time i were there we had spicy mun tau fu (tasty but rice portion bigger than mun tau fu itself), singapore noodle (it was good with generous char siu - grilled pork slices) and black beef bean dry noodle (good)
This has been a favourite restaurant of mine and my families for years and always enjoy having meal when visiting Wollongong.
You can tell the chefs have years of experience up their sleeves as the food comes out perfect and identical every time, it's fresh, tasty and authentic and the value is great. Always consistent and high quality, this is easily one of my favourite restaurants.
A great Wollongong tradition, excellent food at an affordable price...If you believe in the trusted advice, to eat were you see the Asian people eating, then this is the one... Fast & friendly....I have been eating there for many years and it is always dependable.....Sate chicken & spring rolls are just great here...
Price is cheap
Food is delicious and big portion. We ordered beef stir fry noodle, wonton noodle soup, plum sauce rib & desserts.
Will definitely come back again
Favourite. Great food, great sized meals, great quality for the cheap price you pay.
Friendly staff that can make whatever you like.
My favorite go to chinese restaurant.
Refuse to go anywhere else.
Great soup. Egg noodle soup with crispy skin chicken is awesome, however they should serve the chicken on a plate and not in the soup.
Spring rolls will cure any hangover on a sunday :)
So cheap! Yummiest Hainan Chicken rice in Wollongong- the ginger shallot oil side is so yummy. Large portion sizes. Chat Kway Teow, green veggies and Dry Shredded Pork Pickle Cabbage Udon Noodles are also great. Always full of people!
Char-siu-wow Won Ton Soup. People have been telling me for months to try out Food World's Won Ton Soup with Barbecue Pork. I finally got the chance to have some this week! I've got to say that I was pretty blown away.
The soup itself reminds me a lot of Vietnamese soups rather than typical Chinese short soup (the noodles, especially; I had mine with egg noodles), but that really doesn't matter in the least. The pork was tender, sweet and complemented the soup incredibly well. The won tons were just as melt-in-your-mouth tender, filled with pork, mushrooms, prawns and shallots.
I also ordered a side of spring rolls and was not disappointed. They're small, but mighty tasty. The spring rolls at food world are just crunchy enough without being hard.
The three waitresses on duty at the time were mostly new (two were wearing BIG trainee badges!), but they seem to be quick learners. Our food and drinks came out very quickly from the kitchen, the waitresses were always pleasant and we never lacked for anything in terms of condiments, drinks or service.
This place was always packed. I remember when they hadn't expanded yet there would be queues lined up outside the door every night. After the expansion they only got busier! This was my favourite restaurant during my uni days. The crispy chicken is a favourite amongst the students (only one other place makes it better, and that's in Cabramatta). I usually tried to order something different each time I went there and was never disappointed (I still haven't tried the whole menu). My boyfriend typically gets the dry beef rice noodles and satay chicken sticks.
Food World Cafe is a Restaurant I have been having most of my lunches over many years. This Chinese restaurant is very clean with friendly staff and menues to cater every taste. Their portions are rather generous and their prices are to suit a diverse clientele. This is my favourite Chinese Restaurant in Wollongong.
This place is a constant for us. They are consistent on every level. The staff are always very friendly including the owner and we have never had a bad meal there. The menu is vast, and caters for all tastes. The restaurant is clean and bright and the meals are very cheap. Keep up the great work, and thank you. Happy eating!
