Review Humber - Wollongong

Emily Kimber
This was my first time and I loved it. At first I thought the food was abit expensive but then I got it and it was so worth the price. The way it was set out all of it was amazing. I thought the same with the drinks but I can say me and my partner loved every drink we got and they were pretty strong. The service we got was amazing, everyone who came to the table was lovely. Even the guy at the door had me laughing. The lay out of the place is honestly so beautiful and I can say I will 100% be coming back

My friends and I went to the roof top bar at Humber for dumplings and martinis. It was such a great vibe, the food was delicious and the martinis were fantastic! Will definitely go back!

I had my 21st birthday at Humber a few weeks ago and it was perfect! The venue was amazing, food was spot on and staff were awesome. All of my guests have still been raving about how great is was! Highly recommend :)

Service was terrible, food was not bottomless took half an hour to get a refill, when asked if we could have more of the food (after waiting half an hour) the girl said she would have to check but did not return. Drinks also only had 60ml of alcohol per entire jug. The worst bottomless I’ve ever been to. In all fairness the sauce on the popcorn chicken was incredible. But if I could leave less than one star I would.

My friends and I (party of 4) came for bottomless brunch (Fruity Tingle jugs and Popcorn Chicken) and sat on the rooftop. The cocktail jugs were so watered down we all felt like we were drinking lemonade. Throughout the afternoon, we watched staff make the jugs and it appeared barely 3 shots were in each jug, it most certainly didn't taste like there was any more than that. When it comes to the "brunch" aspect - we were initially given 2 very small bowls of popcorn chicken and despite our repeated requests, interesting in itself since it was "bottomless" ; had to wait another hour for one more micro bowl to be produced. Upon delivery of the worlds smallest popcorn chicken bowl, we asked for sauce which like our previous requests for food, was also ignored. The service was poor and underwhelming with staff ignoring us throughout the brunch. Whilst I understand the difficulties with staffing during these challenging times, staff who were in attendance often ignored requests and walked past tables rather than providing any service. My friend wrote a review and the reply was we should have mentioned something at the time and it would have been fixed. Apparently us vocalising to staff that we were hungry during the brunch and asking for more food isn't classified as communicating at the time. We had sat there for 1.5 hours asking for more and were continuously ignored. Given how cold it was, it took over an hour to turn on the heaters, but staff forgot to remove the plastic surrounding it. Instead, the smoke billowing was a clear indicator that there was an issue (and a safety concern for us diners). Overall, would not recommend. Given the cost was just over $49, incredibly disappointing especially as we were made to feel like an inconvenience.

A location for every occasion. Sunday arvo drinks on the rooftop, or a more intimate function on the middle level. Their food options are perfect for sharing and their bottomless brunch sessions are even better. Highly recommend.

Great bar, I love the rooftop for after work drinks on a nice night. Have been for multiple different events from birthdays, work events, or just a bite to eat and always have a great experience!

We went to Humbar last night for a colleague's farewell drinks. It was completely off the mark. We were in the laneway between Humbar and Wollongong Central. It stunk to high heaven and because of the fall of the roadway, you sit on a constant slope. There were those rented marquis in place and they were cold and draughty. We ordered two margaritas ($18 each). They glasses were half full and they were poorly made with not a lot of flavour, and barely chilled.. So we ordered some $1 dumplings. They arrived but were almost cold. We then ordered a Charcuterie board which was basically a couple of bits of salami and mortadella with 3 slithers of toasted baguette ($20) and a cheese board where the name of the game was find the cheese (another $20). We ordered a drink for the guest of honour - my partner went to the bar to remind the staff TWICE that we were still waiting, then I went to the bar to show the me&u receipt, and asked two passing waitstaff as well (that's a total of five reminders for one drink). Literally an hour and a half later the drink arrived. I did a quick head count of the laneway and there were possibly 60 guests tops,, as well as a smattering of people spread of the other two levels. I also counted about a half dozen waitstaff, but only one bar tender. Clearly the problem does not lie in the ratio of waitstaff to patrons but not enough bar staff to keep up with the cocktail demands. Extremely disappointed to the point that we were the fist to leave. Not sure if I will ever return after dropping $140 (with tips) for quite a lacklustre night.
