Review Sugar Cube - Wollongong

Very happy with my dessert. I purchased "The Ultimate". It is a bit pricey but it's nice for a treat. Would definitely recommend. They have a huge selection of different waffle toppings.

When you walk into this place your senses will be overwhelmed by a strong sweet sugary smell. Waffles are crispy and soft and there are many combinations to chose from. Tad on the pricer side and not the cleanest of places

Awesome service and great waffles with high protein and gluten free options. Good strong coffee. Store is looking great with old style booths and some outdoor seating. Highly recommended for anyone chasing a sugar or protein hit.

Great if you're 12 years old and love Katy Perry. Because that's the atmosphere and the size of the seating - we could barely fit into the booth. Sure it's deceptively cute and unique-looking, but that's the whole point, it's all you end up getting out of it. Because if you're expecting coffee, or food, keep hoping. As other people have pointed out this place is grossly understaffed and they seem quite disinterested. We were not acknowledged at any point, our order wasn't taken. They were not even that busy. We walked out because we released pretty soon it was never going to happen. Go around the corner to the Italian place for great coffee and waffles. I'm only giving this one star because I can't give it ZERO.

Very sweet and the waffles were crisp and amazing. Not really sure what the point of serving with tasteless whipped cream since it comes with a flavorful icecream anyways. Tastewise: great. Wouldnt come so often since it is too sweet but definitely will come back when I feel low in sugar!

This place is like pancake on the rocks, but with waffles! Guaranteed to satisfy anyone's sugar craving this place serves delicious warm waffles, drizzled in Belgian chocolate sauce and with your choice of ice-cream. One thing about this place is that everyone who hasn't received their dessert yet (especially the kids) tend to look-while licking-their-lips at your dessert while you're eating it. In all fairness that was what we did to the other patrons while trying to decide on what we were going to get. Great spot for a treat. And if you can't decide on what to get, just pick the first thing that picks your fancy as you can't go wrong with the dessert here. They're all yummy!

Went here on a Sunday afternoon managed to get the table outside which the smiling lady staff member promptly removed the previous patrons plates and cleaned the table. That's the good part. So I ordered at the counter. The young girl seemed as though she wanted to be somewhere else other than working here and didn't look impressed that I was using a Groupon. Neither did the Boss (at least he looked like he was running the show). Coffee looked great & wasn't that bad. Ok, the Waffles weren't warm, but more like a cold straight out of the refrigerator undercooked half crispy dough riddled with undissolved sugar chunks through them thingymajig pattie. Hmmmm would be nice if they were freshly cooked on-site unless they were yesterdays throwbacks. Hugely overpriced, and over rated. If I was a teenager with the munchies I'd be impressed. Unfortunately I can't even say these guys need to learn Quality over Quantity because they had neither. Great idea, poorly executed. You got 1 Star for the Vanilla Ice cream.

I’m missing a real ice cream shop. Thought this would be the place but instead they were serving expensive waffles draped in a milk chocolate sauce. It really wasn’t too satisfying.

So i bring my 4 girls in here last night we were having so much fun the food was great the staff customer service was great but the owner is a fool. So i facebooked lived then next minute the owner came up to me very very angrily and told me to stop filming in his shop only cause i didnt have permission to film. There is no signs to say we are not aloud to film in this shop. I would never come back to this shop because he was disrespectful and rude to customers.

Wonderful customer service from the girls esp the dark haired lil girl at front she so lovely but unfortunately the waffles were not to our liking.. too thick, undercooked, & there was a funny taste to the waffle, smelt like the machine it's cooked in.. weird.. bit steep in price too..

Sugar Cube Wollongong was lovely, clean and a friendly place to go and have the best and most scrumptious desserts you can imagine. Will be back again �

This place is the best place to come if you want some amazing waffles and some great service too! I was in there tonight and the lovely young man took my order. When I got my order I realised that there was chocolate ice cream on it and not chocolate mint (I asked for chocolate mint. Or so I thought I did.) I notified the handsome young chap that took my order that he got it incorrect. My friends then told me that I had in fact ordered the wrong ice cream and I got the correct order. The chap was lovely enough to give me the other ice cream to satisfy me. What a bloody legend!

The worst waffle i have ever tasted (very doughy and powdery ) didnt taste homemade to me. Serving sizes very small wouldn't recommend thw experience to anyone.

Wow!! We just left and I can safely say, that was the best waffle I've ever had! My mouth had a foodgasm. Wish I could've fit it all in! Thank you!!

Not sure who was working Saturday night but I have to say all 3 of them were lovely. One in particular went absolutely out of her way to attempt to find out the ingredients in the gluten free waffle mix for me (I stopped her at calling her manager as it's more down to intolerance than allergies but I did appreciate the offer). Thank you so much to her! The waffles were super yummy and the staff all friendly and helpful. We've eaten here a few times and have never had a treat that wasn't hot, fresh and delicious. Keep up the awesome job :)

We only had the wild berry frappe and the lemonade/raspberry sorbet float which were both very nice on the super hot day it was. Customer service was great with their recommendations being spot on. Happy customers.

This place makes a great waffle however horrible roasted beans and coffee if that is your purpose of visiting, I feel my review is adequate as a dessert/cafe style food venue should be able to produce great coffee to compliment its sweets<br/><br/>Apologise in advance for the lack of photos

The place looked good, but the ice creams were horrible. We couldn't finish anything. Such a waste of money. Look like refreeze melted ice creams !!! Disappointed :(

This place looked awesome but the pastries weren't fresh and the milkshakes were very thin and tasted like flavored milk. A bit of a disappointment. :(

Decent. Waffles are thick and dense in texture and not fluffy at all. Iced coffee has too much cream which felt like a rip off. Coconut flavoured drink (frappe I think) is definitely a miss and the wildberry frappe is a hit! Don't think I'll be returning. Prices were about $6 for drinks and $10+ for waffles.

Great place for late evening catch up. It's one of the few places in Wollongong you can just go have an ice cream or a coffee late in the evening. Waffle is fresh and delicious but a bit pricy too. I love the coconut frappe in summer. Tried their coffee (called "Rumba"?) recently, it didn't taste good at all. Probably one of the worst coffee:( <br/>The staff are all very friendly.

Great food, amazing service!. Have to say that the waffles were great, fresh and hot and delicious! But surprisingly the service here was some of the best service I have experienced, with the staff being friendly, polite, and willing to bend over backwards for their customers. Really really impressed.

The sugar cube is brilliant! Besides their trademark waffles, their coffee is wonderful. The customer service is excellent too, I've never seen any of them frown (even though they basically work in a box)!

Not the greatest waffles but they serve a generous portion of the fruits and ice cream! Really a treat for dessert craving foodies around wollonggong :)

During our visit, we decided to greedily have all 3 of them with the Ultimate Waffle, consisting of melted Belgian milk chocolate, fresh strawberries with strawberry coulis, vanilla ice cream, chocolate ice cream, homemade toffee sauce and fresh cream.
