Review North Wollongong Hotel - Wollongong

This a large and popular hotel. Apparently it's chiefly popular as a night spot. But I had vegan nachos for lunch and they were fantastic. If the rest of the menu is as good then it's a great lunch spot too. It has a very attractive treed outdoor area and plenty of parking. The indoor tables need a new coat of varnish but otherwise the presentation is good. There's an outdoor bar for functions and weekends. I didn't get to check the rest out but I did see a large group of differently abled people having lunch there today, so I'm assuming it works for most people. You must check in and must be vaccinated to access this pub.

Heavy handed security threw me out of a private party. When asked why, they had no reason just that my “attitude” led them to believe I should not be allowed to stay. I was not falling down, I hadn’t abused anybody and had just been served a drink which completely refutes any RSA protocols they may wish to use as justification. Low intelligence humans with a little power is a dangerous combination. They humiliated me and intimidated me. In fact, threatened to throw me down the stairs. This was witnessed by a completely sober colleague. The world has gone mad. After our exit we proceeded to another venue and were welcomed in and had an excellent time. A happy customer tells 5 people and an unhappy customer tells 500 about their experience. I will be telling everyone I can about my outrageous treatment by the staff at Nth Wollongong Hotel.

Been a few times the thing that spoils it is the men's toilets . On big events you guys need to seriously get more toilets the cues are insane and left with spew and all sorts never being cleaned up it's disgraceful and off putting it's seriously a big problem disgusting I won't be coming back after last night me and my mates went to The Volkenovski sadly quieter. It's disappointing we wanted to dance and have a good time on ANZAC DAY but at least it's a clean venue North Gong is gross.

kieran is an amazing manager who had helped us throughout the night, giving us his jackets and calling a taxi. great service by rahni also, who was helpful and so positive also. best service i have received from any hospitality staff.

Awesome spot on a sunny day for beers out the back. Wheelchair accessible (with a little bit of planning if going inside/out) and the service is always given with a smile

Had a work lunch here,nice place,lots of different beer,only one mid strength,I drove there so was limited for a beverage,entree was nice,juicy prawns in a citrus lime chilli sauce,delish,had a steak,was cooked right,nice ,workmates had the polenta chips,kept nabbing one occasionally,very nice

Great service, awesome drinks thanks Kieran and rahni who were serving my friends and I. Thanks to them we had a good going and enjoyable experience. 10/10 will be back again.

I don't understand how a popular menu item like a chicken parmigiana isn't available at 12pm on a Sunday. Matter of fact more than 70% of the menu was unavailable. How does a bistro allow this to happen? I could understand if was late at night and they ran out, but they literally just opened. The minimal food we were able to order was below average at best. The wings were bland with no flavour. The barramundi had a bad smell and the mash was powered mash. How hard is it that they can't even make fresh mash potato. The salad tastes like it hadn't been washed. Overall this was probably the worst pub meal i have ever had, I'd stay clear of this dive. Could get yourself a better feed at McDonalds and that's saying something.

We attended a wedding yesterday. The room was decorated beautifully. The staff could not have been nicer or more efficient. Dani ( sorry if i have got your name wrong darling) you were awesome and made sure we were all taken care of. Now the food. We had more platters of food than we could eat and it was so delicious. Was there for a function upstairs. The staff were absolutely lovely. They were extremely helpful and thought full. Food was great. Would highly recommend.

Recently had my daughter and her fiancee engagement party upstairs, had the best time, the venue was perfect, the food was really good, management and bar staff were very helpfull, could not have asked for a better night

Great place good food and good talent haha. A good place for a Sunday arvo meal and catch up

It could have been the company I had, it might have been the service, regardless, when is North Gong not worth having a beer at?

Great place, only complaint is that I was kicked out for "public indecency". As far as I knew naked pool was a socially acceptable activity but apparently I was wrong. Good schnitzels.

Amazing food, great crowd, enjoyed yesterday's Mayweather vs. McGregor.

We took our restaurant staff there this week to carry on after our social event. The outside area was great & we couldn't be happier with the friendly staff & the way we were looked after. Big thanks to the bar staff & management on Monday. We'll be back soon!

I love this place, the staff were so friendly, food and drink was great. For anyone who was complaining about the $1 sauces stop been so cheap. Have some banter and get back here

It's ok just another pub really but nice atmosphere. Typical pub food.

Schnitzel was burnt dry and very average for the price... Not to mention the staff and how un accommodating they were when asking a basic question.......Definitely won't be back

thought it was great. we are not from the local area. The food our party of 6 ordered was divine. The woman who appeared to be the duty manager on shift was so welcoming and helpful (sorry I didn't get her name). The live bands was a bonus and easy viewing of the football match on tv and then a game of snooker to finish the night. Will certainly recommend to people we do know who are locals and will definitely revisit when we are in the area
