Review Oscar's Grill - Wollongong

Came here on a late Sunday afternoon. Place and atmosphere is nice. Very slow service, waited 50 minutes for food. Even despite 'hunger is the best seasoning', as for most of us this was our first meal of the day, the food was underwhelming or in the case of the Prawn Linguine, was overwhelmingly salty. I actually don't understand how it can be this over salted. The fish tacos were quite good, but overall was a poor experience.

Great food and atmosphere! Gets busy during peak periods for Food orders but everything we ordered was worth the wait! Friendly service and nice areas both inside undercover and outside.

Had an absolutely fantastic experience here. The food was delicious and well priced. The venue was huge but staff seemed to be clearing out tables frequently, though the restaurant looked basically full. The majority of staff also seemed to look very young, but simply amazing service. Always smiling and extremely helpful considering they were also catering and managing two 21st event parties in the covered outdoor area. Well done.

Nice venue, great staff, nice beer. We ate there last night. I had a Supreme pizza. Big mistake - when I asked the bar staff about the pizzas when ordering, he didn't convey any enthusiasm.... I should have gone with my instinct and his hint. There was nothing Supreme about it, apart from the fact that it carried a whole lot of toppings. Soggy, soft base with way too much cheese (and other stuff). I started hungry and eager, but began losing interest after only two pieces despite this. I managed to eat half, felt horrible for the rest of the night. Pizzas are inherently easy to make, but you need a good base, and to be willing to cook it. Don't overload it.... send your pizza makers to Orlando's and learn what a real pizza should look and taste like.

Check your food! It could be cold or under cooked. Slack and slow kitchen. How can you serve cold burger and fries

A bit trickey finding the non-smoking area but still a lovely pub. Those using wheeled supports may find it a bit difficult but it's clear that this pub has gone to great efforts to make those an accessible space for all. It had a lovely open fee,l even indoors. Nice staff. Some V options. Nice.

Best mate from way back comes for lunch and foolishly I take him here. Very embarrassing. Lamb shoulder that needs slow long cooking was served very rare, with tough gristle and raw fat. I try to eat mine but my friend takes his back and gets the roast pork. It’s the same again not roasted at all but quickly grilled with green fat around the cut. Veggies nice pumpkin but greens overcooked soggy. Forget this place! Could be a great establishment with impressive fish tanks and bars. But seriously let down! get a real chef! And stop embarrassing yourself and your guessed. We won’t be back and I’m a local!

4 stars mainly for the fantastic member of staff Ben H. He was so friendly and welcoming, whereas some of the other staff were pretty rude with no customer service skills whatsoever which ruined our experience a bit. Food wasn’t bad, maybe a little overpriced (fries were $7 and pretty small) but the decor was also really nice. Also recommend coming during the afternoon for happy hour 3-6, pints for the price of schooners!
