Review Mr Crown - Wollongong

Been banned from here for the past 5-6 months and still won't be let back in because someone put a roofie in my drink, vomited and passed out. I've seen, and heard of people getting barred from here for much worse things like violent brawls or people getting stabbed, but you'd think after so much time they'd let someone with such a benign altercation back in, but every time i try to talk to them they just tell me to go away. I would recommend going to a different venue, The harp hotel which is just around the corner from Crown, provides a much safer and fun atmosphere, with karaoke and 3 dance floors and plenty of outside room for smoking and also features pokies. It's also a great place to go if you genuinely want to go meet new people and make some friends, Most people go to crown just to dance with their small friend groups, people aren't really interested in talking there, unless you've done something to seriously impress the crowd. Crown is, and always will be a decrepit representation of everything wrong about the nightlife in Wollongong, don't go there, unless you want to be thrown out for things like dancing too good, which is also likely to get you kicked out :/

Maddie is an amazing bartender. She is the best you’ll can ever have. And also the manager or floor supervisor who was tonight. They deserve a cheer!!

Huge servings of food!! Cheap happy hour drinks & plenty of seating in a dim, neon space.

Entry staff are extremely rude and unprofessional. Not worth supporting this awful business. With my experience and by reading some of the reviews, they seem to have an agenda against queer/alternative presenting people entering.

My friend was unable to get in because apparently they don’t recognise key passes as a valid ID but that’s okay because literally every other club and pub did. It’s a government recognised form of I’d for those kinds of establishments. The woman at the counter was rude. If I could give a 0 stars I would. Also, the last time I was there there were ppl going around sticking needles in ppl to drug them :)

Good music during the weekend. The ambiance is nice.

The burgers are delicious, normal cut chips I think would have been better. The staff are very pleasant. Atmosphere was nice and relaxing at lunch time.

Top venue, great beer and friendly staff
