Review Toro Robata - Wollongong

Good food, good taste. Drop past last night and it was closed. I’m glad I came in tonight, staff friendly and ambiance is nice (music abit to loud) other than that it was a perfect night out.

Pricey but flavours on point. Carpaccios are a must. I was so pleased with the Tomago sushi. We have come here multiple times by now. Oh my that fillet migneon...it was so damn good ! This is my regular Sushi joint. What an extensive menu. Only downfall is....no proper dessert. *Halal meat*

Super fresh sashimi, gorgeous plating. Delicious sushi, okonomiyaki and gyozas. Everything we ordered was fantastic and 5 out of 5 stars. Good value. Have dined there a few times and always great food and service.

Oh wow, the food was amazing, very fresh and thick cut of sashimi and sushi, generous amount of food with very competitive price. Desert was amazing too and staff were so professional.

Did both dined in and takeaway. This is more of a Korean flavoured Japanese restaurant. 3 star as the tempura batter is just not right and our scampi head was not deep fried through which made is unpleasant. The Edamame was under seasoned and the agedashi tofu dashi was not quite right either. The eel was good and the takeaway soft shell crab roll was also good flavour.

Came here last night with a group of friends. We all loved it, everyone thought the food was great. The Karaage chicken entree was incredible. Sashimi was nice and fresh and beautifully presented. I had the grilled salmon chef roll which was very delicious. I tried a bit of the seafood pancake and would definitely order that next time! The restaurant itself is set out really nice and the staff were attentive and friendly. The food came out as soon as each dish was prepared so we did it have to wait long at all. Can’t wait to come back here again and try some more dishes out, there is plenty of choice on their menu.

Food is very basic. Chef’s Sushi is small now and less than average - still the high price though. Food is presented on plates as if it was squished into a takeaway box. The kids sushi looked like it was randomly chucked onto a random small plate. Definitely gone downhill in the past year. Was my favourite restaurant, but we won’t be back. So disappointed and definitely overpriced

Thank you for a great lunch, our family drove from west Sydney and myself from Jervis Bay as I have been there before and love the food and atmosphere. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for amazing sushi, my kingfish ceviche was amazing. Worthy of many more family gatherings for us.

Tried the prettiest sushi place in Wollongong. This guys has been opened since last year. The restaurant itself looks fancy and pretty. This what we had:
- sushi platter (6pcs): not only has beautiful plating, but the quality of the fishes also superb 👌 all fishes are fresh and gooey like a jelly. The tuna, the kingfish, the salmon 👌👌👌👌 I think I should order a bigger portion next time lol
- salmon steak: it was hubby's order. The salmon cook well and tasty too
- chicken ramen in soyu based: unfortunately this ramen taste just average for me. Seems like there's something missing
Overall, it will be my go to whenever I am craving fancy sushi or fresh sashimi. Service was very good.

Toro Robata never fails. The sushi is fantastic and the items cooked on the grill (robata) are delicious.

Hands down the best Japanese restaurant in The Gong. Fresh quality sashimi and sushi with beautiful presentation. The lunch bento boxes are well portioned and have good variety. The udon noodles are silky smooth and the pork was very flavoursome.

Service was friendly and attentive. Loved the decor with lots of natural light and a massive cherry blossom tree inside.

Fair exceeded my expectation, highly recommended

Have a mixed feeling about the restaurant. Portion and presentation were great. The main dishes, such as the teriyaki salmon and the yaki udon were not too bad. Not authentic, but tasted good. Teriyaki salmon was a bit lacking in the flavor. The spicy karaage chicken and the miso soup were pretty nice as well. Gyoza was definitely the highlight. It’s one of the best gyoza I have ever tasted. Juicy and flavorful. I wouldn’t mind coming here for the gyoza.
