Review Beach Burrito Company - Wollongong

Mark Hamlet
The Beach Burrito Company is a chain restaurant specializing in Mexican food. Set out over three levels in Globe Lane, the decor is rustic in a beach way and the service is excellent. The food is good, although it could be argued that the dishes are a little over priced when you take into account the overall quality and volume of each meal. If you are looking to have a light Mexican meal and a couple of drinks with friends, then this venue will suit you.

This is the best kept secret in Cronulla! Smart mexican food with great beers and nachos. Their calling card is the fact that they are the last place to get sun! Sunday afternoon is the pick of the days with a DJ spinning some tunes.

The food is always so fresh, and the staff are so lovely and genuine at Beach Burrito Wollongong! I would highly recommend if looking for somewhere providing a relaxed vibe and a good feed 👏🏼

Fairly pleasant experience. If you want some light Mexican food and a place to relax with some friends try it out.

It's good food that's not sooo badly priced. Table service would be nice (you have to go to the counter to order).

Zach is one of the greats peace in the east! This place is awesome! Best Guac around.

Horrible tasteless food. Soggy burrito which was a double whammy as it wasn't even the right order. No tofu in the "veg and tofu".

Always enjoy the good here. More pricey than other Mexican places.

Actually really disappointing. Initial impressions were not good, no waitress to be found upon entering, approached a man behind the bar who didn't work there (what?)
Grabbed our own menus from the bar and sat down, another ten minutes before a waitress was seen. Who then stood at the table until we quickly fumbled through our order.

Entrees and mains arrived within minutes of each other which makes eating really rushed and unpleasant. Would have loved to order another round of drinks but the waitress was again missing until it came time to clear our plates.

The food? One burrito was ordered, 80% rice and beans 10% juice, 8% tomato and 2% chicken. Tasted of bean paste.

The tacos -chicken, beef & pork.
Chicken was the same filler as the burrito sans beans & rice, which wouldn't have surprised me honestly, so much liquid that the tortilla was a sloppy mess and fell apart as soon as it was picked up.

Beef- probably the best out of the lot however the amount of liquid, while not tortilla dissolving, made for an incredibly messy eat. The beef however tenderly cooked was over spiced leaving a pasty chalk like residue in your mouth.

Pork- repeated scenario of the chicken taco except there was actual
Splash back when it fell apart. As with the beef, too much spice used that, while not adding exceptional amount of flavour, left the chalky pasty residue in the mouth. Pity there was no waitress around to order drinks to wash out this residue.

Lunch came to $70 ...just disappointing.

While much of Wollongong's restaurants were closed on a Saturday arvo, we came by Beach Burrito Company and tried their food. In short, the food wasn't that fancy, as Tex-Mex or Mex; but, for Tex-Mex or Mex, it was solid! The prices were reasonable given the huge size of the burritos and the food tasted not only good but of a fair quality.

We weren't expecting much in the way of service but service was also good, with a friendly and accommodating server. Furthermore, the restaurant had a relaxed, slow feel and was good for a casual weekend lunch.

We would recommend to anyone looking for nothing too fancy but pretty good.

Yuck.. I am being waited on by a sick server!

Your waiter was violently sick while serving food.

I just refused service from a server who was coughing and he was taking his arm to catch the drip..so frigging gross.

Isn't there a law against serving food to the public when sick?

Anyone else have similar experiences?

The food here is soo good. I came here for dinner a few weeks ago and based on suggestions from a few other Zomatoes I decided to try the Quesadilla and wow they were good. I highly suggest this dish. The Chili fries were really good too but I preferred the Especial nachos.

All in all, if you're looking for a quick and easy casual dinner spot in Wollongong area, this place is for you.

Excellent, high quality Mexican food. My wife and I have been looking for Mexican place in Wollongong for years and for us, this is it!

Loved the salsas, guac and poppers for apps. The real feature of the meal was the chicken quesadilla which came highly recommended by our server. I can't wait to have it again. Very excited we stumbled on this place and we will be back.

5 Star!!!. This might be my new favourite spot in town! This modern Mexican kitchen has it going. First of all, their Chicken fajita is a good bargain. It comes with toasted burrito with sauce on top, yummy diced tomato, guacamole, sour cream and corn chips just for $15. We have shared fries with chilli con carne. AMAZING!

Special point for the very professional staff. WILL BE BACK!

Terrible. Booked a table for 12 for our staff Christmas party. On arrival we were taken to a table for 6. We then had to wait 20 minutes for a suitable table. We were then taken upstairs to a larger table which was covered in other peoples rubbish which we cleaned ourselves. Burritos were delivered cold and wrong meals were delivered to wrong numbers. Drinks were forgotten. We had to take cuttlery from other tables. Staff were sitting around on their phones rather than attending to customers needs. WILL NOT RETURN.

Best Mexican restaurant I've been to by far! Great staff and even better food. The interior is amazing and the restaurant is so spacious. Definitely becoming a weekly place to eat
