My wife, son and I have been there many times. The food is brilliant, the staff always friendly which accompanies their service. Owners Lisa and Brett are always welcoming and truly lovely people. My wife (also a chef) loves Lisa's food presentation. Jonah loves the variety of cakes, but it's the BLT for me.
Always friendly staff. Good for lunch or morning/avo tea. I've had lovely salads & vegan cakes & brewed chai. Sit inside or in the courtyard at rear. ��

Very friendly, laid back and helpful service. Very good coffee and lots of food items to choose from. Spacious, light and breezy inside and a lovely, dog and child friendly shady courtyard out the back. A great addition to cafe offerings in south Gippsland.

Great coffee and a huge selection of unique and delicious slices/cakes. The menu is broad and has more than the average cafe. The Korean chicken salad is amazing and a must try!! Also love the raspberry blondies, had to buy a takeaway one after trying one in store! 100% recommend, one of the best places in Wonthaggi hands down!!

My favourite brekky joint in town - always prompt service, good coffee and perfectly poached eggs. And we love being able to sit outside with our dogs in summer... highly recommend
Very welcoming atmosphere and polite service which was followed up by a great coffee, one of the best i have had in Gippsland, Victoria. Selection of cakes and muffins looked good and all appeared to be home or locally made. I overheard a breakfast order and they were very easy to accommodate any alteration to the menu.
We went here two days in a row and it was lovely. The cooked breakfasts we had were simple and delicious, the coffee was great and the pastries were wonderful. The Oreo chocolate brownie was probably the best brownie I’ve ever eaten. We were very pleased with this place. The only problem is the toilets don’t have an entrance from the cafe which is hard because of my young children who want to go to the toilet every 5 minutes haha

Stopped here on the way back to Melbourne, SO impressed! The food was outstanding, all 4 of us absolutely loved it. Great menu choices, unique but all appealing and delicious! Loved the heritage of the place as well. Good coffee too! Worth driving from Melbourne for a visit!
Food was fantastic as was service but place was let down by dirty cutlery with old encrusted food and dirty glasses. Hopefully they read this and sort it out as otherwise its a fantastic place.
Love this place, fantastic breakfast, chorizo and sweet potato hash is delish. Coffee excellent, service friendly. Great courtyard, thumbs up all round.
You guys have the best Iced Coffees in the area! My partner and I also love the cakes you have on display! They taste just as great also! We love the chocolate gnache one!
Even my Pooch Loves it. WOW! Weekend getaway really improved when my Kids, the Kelpie and I stumbled upon this little gem. Kids enjoyed the Ice cream cones while I smashed down the best BBQ, Beef and Bacon burger this side of Perth! Chloe cleaned away any leftovers we had and we bid Farewell to the Lovely lady who runs the joint. Real country hospitality.
Loved it. A warm, welcoming atmosphere. Amazing coffee and delicious food served by lovely, friendly people. I will be back again to sit out in the courtyard where the kids can play and I can relax!

The food is always fresh and the menu is exciting. If you were to lose your senses for a few seconds, you would think that the Hicksborough Store was a Melbourne cafe. Delightful coffee and friendly staff. A real winner!
If only Wonthaggi had a great place like this when I lived there. I might not have left. Roast beef roll is to die for. Impressive menu. Jo has done wonders with the famous old Hicksborough Store. Kudos!
Hicksborough general store and cafe have the best Lemon Meringue Pie! The staff are all friendly and the store has a fantastic vibe with a killer vintage peters ice cream cone light!
What a great find! All the Korean fried chicken dishes were excellent! Very busy joint, so come in early or book in for a place. Fried chicken bao was a highlight, with super soft bao crunchy chicken. We will be back here soon!
Great place for holiday lunch. Clean venue with friendly service. Great food and was packed on Saturday morning which has got to be a good sign. The new best place in Wonthaggi

First time here. Fried Chicken Salad and Spicy Chicken Rice. BEST CHICKEN EVER! Salad accompaniment was wonderful as well.

Love this gem of a place. The food is korean influenced and delicious. The staff I have encountered have been very welcoming. A great courtyard to spread people around and with seating inside and outside in front of the cafe it gives a choice. Everything I have so far had here I would have again and loved. Keep up the great work and it will be my place to visit in Wonthaggi.
