We came and had lunch here just last week.
The food was amazing, we had braised beef and a Parma. It seriously was to die for and the beer was really cold. I couldn't recommend this tavern more.

Our local for the past 8.5 years, always feels like home (uk) the food is excellent, service and staff are always very helpful, nothing is too much! Great music, specials nights for meals, quizzes etc always very busy, so it shows that the Woodvale is a number 1 place to always be at👌👌

Our daughter is a toddler and she's going through the "I don't want to sit and play while mammy and daddy are having dinner" stage � and she didn't want to play with any of her toys we brought. Thankfully the pub had colouring sheets , pencils and a sticker book which kept her amused.

We go to The Woodvale quite often as the food is always great & they have been changing the Menu quite frequently lately & we love trying the new exciting stuff.
A couple of weeks ago we used the Reception Centre for my brother's 21st Birthday & we were absolutely over the moon with everything.
The catering was exceptional, every dish was 10/10, particularly the Duck Spring Rolls & the Croquettes!
The staff went over & above to look after us on the night. The service behind the bar was the best I have ever experienced at a function.
The Management from the lead up was excellent in the organisation of the event & on the night itself were communicating with us throughout the night.
A special Thank you to Bri for cleaning up after a few of the more rowdy party goers & Ultan behind the bar! Ultan was with us all night & we couldn't have asked for a better barman.
Great place for any kind of an Event, lovely choice of Buffet food and nice friendly staff.
Fantastic venue, great venue for our bike ride adventure, we could safely store our bikes outside in the beer garden and have our drinks and food delivered to our table... Beautiful food highly recommended!

Wednesday night steak night. 300gm steak was cooked to perfection with chips and a nice salad. Staff were busy but efficient. Some of the clientele in the bar a bit doubtful though,
Woodvale has a steak night special on wednesday for $15 300g sirloin! Battered fries and a nice simple salad. I had a perfectly cooked medium rare steak with mushroom sauce. Salad was fresh n well dressed fries were crispy and the mushroom sauce was nice n sticky. Great value great service. I found the mushroom sauce a lil sweet but apart from that happy days!
Simple, no frills pub food done well. Daily food and drink specials. Very reasonably priced, great service and the food is made in a timely manner.
Everything you expect from a Tavern. It was warm on a cold day, the food is good and well priced. The Sunday roast is delicious.

Great 'Pub Grub' place, big plates, great carvery, good service and great selection of beers. Few street rats hanging at the bar now and then but the restaurant itself is great for the family.
We went on schnitty night for my stepfather’s birthday, but a range of food was ordered by our table of 8 adults, 2 kids.
The high chair was clean, there was activity pads and colouring in pencils for the kids, kids meals were quite big serves (but too much salad haha)
Pizzas were well topped and a good size, schnitzels were nice and juicy with a generous serve of chips and salad leaves. Barramundi and steak were also good. Nice variety of classics and variations on the classics, if anything there were too many choices on the menu.
Well priced desserts and a big variety of beverages.
Service was a little lackluster, but the staff were polite and unobtrusive, and did oblige with a candle in my stepfather’s dessert.
We would definitely go back.
My first visit to The Woodvale and I was quite surprised.
This British pub was pumping last Saturday night, maybe due to the fact that it had The Mod Squad at the function room and a (free) Michael Jackson act in the bar area.
A huge range of beers and ales served by friendly and helpful bar staff.
The food is pretty good too, my fish n chips were well cooked and generously proportioned.
Very English atmosphere! Went early on a Friday night with 9 people and got s table no problems. Food was hit and miss, but on the whole surprisingly good! VERY large serving sizes!
Little Britain!
What a delicious surprise! The Woodvale do a good old fashion Brit style Sunday roast for 30 bucks which includes 3 courses (soup, main and desert). Definitely the best Sunday roast I have had in Perth with a choice of Pork, lamb or beef and all the trimmings!!! You definitely feel like you are back in England and with their excellent selection of beers from around the world there is plenty to wash it down with. The restaurant also has the added bonus of TV's in ever corner with your choice of all sorts of different sports plus the outdoor area is equiped with a couple of big screens to you don't miss out on the action if you go out for a fag!!
I was not expecting too much from the menu but I was pleasantly surprised at the choice of food, the timely service and efficient wait staff. We were a table of 25 and our food came out quite quickly and no-one had any complaints, in fact everyone was more than happy with their choice. I had the beetroot salad with came with beetroot crisps, feta, honeyed walnuts and a balsamic dressing. The texture and flavour complimented each other and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The servings sizes were perfect. A friend had a desert which I photographed because it was a work of art. Would definitely eat here again.
We had the chicken parmy, which was HUGE and awesome. Ordered everything at the start (to get 25% discount in Entertainment Book on all the food). The desserts came a bit late and the very friendly waitress apologised that the docket had been misplaced and would be out shortly. It was AND with a cash refund of the cost because of that. The desserts were mouth watering (I think a new chef for them?) Then of course we stayed for the band and a top night including a boogie or two to the great band, Dr Bogus.
Been a few times and food is always of good quality and service staff are very friendly. Had the pork sausage with mustard sauce and mash and it was excellent although the mash could have been creamier. All the other food at the table was good too, burger, steak lamb usual pub grub but done very well.
How has this place upped it's game so much?? Went a year or so ago and was not impressed however went twice in the last month (have family here from the UK) and it's been fantastic! The food comes out in good time, the portions are a great size and the menu options are nice and varied.. the only thing hubby said is it would be nice if they had a burger on the menu! I opted for liver with bacon on a bed of mash and green beans. Liver was cooked perfectly and melted in my mouth and the mash was lovely and creamy it was so good I had it the second time as well! Everyone else seemed happy all the steaks were cooked well and the pie was beautiful! Definitely worth a look and they are in the entertainment book for 25% off.
Sunday carvery. Three courses for $29. First the soup with a bread roll which wasn't bad. The main event was generous, beer tender and not fatty, Yorkshire puddings and lots of crackling. Chocolate pudding and apple crumble to finish with custard. Well worth a visit for a good feed.
Great place for pub food. Plenty of space. We normally drive about 40 minutes across the city to get to the Woodvale when we are craving for a good Sunday roast. Always leave feeling extremely satisfied! For the price you pay, it's all worth it. Definitely will be coming back for more traditional Sunday roast soon!

Absolutely love their pizzas, so nice. The bands that play late at night create a lovely atmosphere.
Brilliant beef and Guinness pie, flaky pastry and tasty gravy inside. Everyone was happy with their steaks but chips were a bit of an overload. Entree calamari was bit too chewy. Really big serves. Go early as they turn the music up a bit too loud after 8:30pm. Staff were very friendly and attentive. It's a good feel place with good pub food. In the entertainment book so shared entree and main each total $55
The staff here are usually great. The value for money can depend. If you go on steak night (Wednesday), you get a good serving of rump steak, salad, and chips for $18. Most of the menu items are more expensive, but there are specials on other nights. The brownie with berry compote and ice-cream ($9) is delicious, and they rotate through other desserts at the same price (usually cheesecakes and other cakes). The caramel slice ($4.50) is much more filling than it looks.
The bar is cash only. There's a good variety of alcohol available.
Best place for a family night out. The food is always tasty and the wait staff are really on the ball. there polite and pay attention, i would recommend this place to anyone and everyone whether its just for a drink with the lads or a nice family meal. they make me feel right at home.

Pleasantly Surprised. After reading the other reviews, I wasn't too sure what to expect here. I came for lunch mid week so it was not at all busy, service was fast and easy. Ordered the chilli and cheese burger and a Guinness pie and both were really good. Huge servings and good prices too. Overall, a pretty good experience. My only criticism is the pub looks a bit tired now, but maybe it adds to the charm of an old English style boozer.
Saw the Woodvale advertised for valentines night as 45$$ per person for a three course meal including a glass of champagne so my husband and I decided we would give it a go as we hadn't been in quite a while.. Arrived at 6.30 and were presented with champagne and little nibbles to share which our lovely server told us were compliments of the chef.Pleasantly surprised . We both had salmon to start which was very tasty. I was a little disappointed that the fish option for main was also salmon so I opted for the scotch steak with dauphinois potatoes. Absolutely mouth watering, my husband who loves fish had the salmon again for main with a Niçoise salad which he said was also wonderful. The desserts ( which unfortunately we didn't have much room for) were also beautiful. Have to say we were very impressed with the service and the food. Would certainly recommend the Woodvale to others
Went sat night for the first time and was awesome. Had the burger and it was amazing. The onion rings were to die for and the home made desserts were awesome. He banana cake was tops... Should of tried the pavlova but can't eat everything lol

10/10 Great Food!. What a pleasant surprise! We think they must have new chefs because the food has improved dramatically! Our table of 8 was seated quickly by the friendly & attentive wait staff. Once we had made our selections we placed our order at the counter, ordering from both the regular and special’s menu. Some of the dishes selected were Beef & Guinness Pie, Garlic Prawns, Duck, Steak, all of these got the thumbs up with clean plates all around. The stand out for the night was on the ‘Specials Menu’ Veal Rib Eye, this presented well, a delicious piece of meat cooked to perfection – Thank You!
The desserts on offer were equally as pleasing with dishes made in-house rather than the usual cake selection you see everywhere, we were tempted with a Hazelnut Pavlova, a deliciously gooey sticky date pudding and a Rum Baba soaked in a delectable syrup, all worth leaving room for! There were more desserts on offer so we will just have to return again soon – well worth the visit.
Reasonably priced pub grub. We arrived to find our booking had been "lost" but despite this were seated quickly.
Menu is standard "pub grub" but well priced and portions are very generous.
We did have a bit of a wait for our meal but when it arrived, all the meals in our party of five were good.
Nothing fancy in this place but good honest, reasonably priced food.
Woodvale. Went here last week and the food was excellent. Nice tender steak with the best pepper sauce . Friendly service, and our 3 year old loved the ice cream with extra lollies and sprinkles. Def eating here on a regular basis.
Pretty good. I previously gave a bad review on the Caesar salad here but have been back since for dinner and had the salmon which was delicious. It is our local and have been many times before and will be back.
Good Service + food. Had dinner here a few nights ago, thought the food was really nice, alot of variety on the menu and had no problem changing one of the meals around to suit my vegan daughter-in-law. The staff were really friendly and it had a nice warm atmosphere considering it was a freezing cold night. Will definatly go there again.

Had the Sunday Carvery here yesterday. I was a bit put off by the earlier negative reviews but went as a family of four anyway. Pleased to report that the food was tasty, well cooked and came in huge quantities. I reckon that at $26.90 for adults and $12.90 for kids it's good value too. Certainly not fine dining but for a good honest Pub Carvery it's absolutely spot on.
Had a steak here about a year ago, was a massive eye fillet that had been oven cooked, still the best pub steak I have ever had.
Best Roast in Perth! Been here only on Sundays and always been good food and great service -especially the chef who is a legend. Recommend for hangovers and hungry people. Also the meat is nice and tender and never dry.
Gone downhill. TimTam has been disapponted on her last few visits here. Long waits and average food. The salad bar is gone, the loaves of bread have been replaced. One can only fear the faith of the poor fruit and veg people (see my photos).
Good service and food. Before they got rid of them, the rump special and woodvale burger were good value for money. The fish and chips are average. The seafood basket is very filling. The chicken parma is a standout, although the most expensive.

I like the buffet type salad bar thing you get with your meal, there is an ok variety of meals to choose from. the atmosphere is nice, it's nothing fancy but it's a good pub meal, I will probably go again.

Lovely sunny alfresco area, resturant quality pub-grub, big servings with a tasty salad bar and very reasonable prices, what more can I say!

The Woodvale is a lovely English style pub, great food, fast service, very popular. I have been here numerous times and find it has something for most age groups. They often have live bands which is always fun. There is an outdoor area with extra seating, Ive never used this area, it looks nice though.The function centre is right next door and the events they host are always well run.
Great Pub warm and inviting atmosphere. Food is always excellent, pork belly and mushroom pancakes from the entrees menu are fantastic snacks to have while enjoying a pint. Service is always fast and friendly, public bar is well set out. Overall a great local hard to beat.

Love this place ..the only thing that concerns me is that when the band starts at 9pm that kids are allowed to stay till 10. Be on the dance floor and around bar area. If sitting and eating no worries but being around the bar area amongst drinkers..not sitting good with me. Just my thoughts and those of quite a few 9thers.
Buzzing atmosphere with great food! Thankyou to our waitress Lauren who had attention to detail and was so helpful and thoughtful throughout our meal. For someone who was still training we were very impressed by her hospitality.
Lovely decor for Mothers Day, some great fun things for kids to do. Great 3 course menu or a la carte, plenty of Roast carvery selection and all very generous and tasty. Thank you. All enjoyed our meals.
