- great fresh spring rolls
- great bun bo hue (lemon grass spicy beef and pork noodle soup)
- cheap!!!!
- great customer service
Great restaurant. Service was great, food was authentic + fresh + delicious. We took our food away, so we didn't get to dine in but the ambience of the place was fantastic.
One thing though, Zomato has an old menu - see attached for the new one in both English and Vietnamese. Thanks!
Always come here for their Pho,even if I lives down the southern suburb. Nice broth very delicious..always order their Ice Durian too..it might not be everybody’s favourite but if you want to try the mildest version of Durian..then you can try this one ;)
You always know you’re going to get good pho here. Has always hit the mark. Spring rolls are nice too, but mainly I’m here for the pho combo, without beef balls for me.
A amazing place, i love pho and this is prob by far the best place for it, the size, price and quality of it is just amazing! The only issue is the air con never seems to be cold enough...
edit: the prices went up by either 50c or a dollar, still worth it.
What a wonderful experience this family run business is full of charm and caring owners. The food is fresh and servings are generous. The decor is tired but the personality of its owners makes up for any decor issues. The one thing that I really would love to comment on is the despicable landlord who owns the small shopping complex. This individual should be ashamed of themselves the rear car park is not only a health hazard but terrible to look at with all it's potholes and uneven surface full stop the empty shops windows oh so dirty it's disgraceful and I feel sorry for the owners of the restaurant who would pay their rent diligently and are getting no respect from their landlord. My advice to the restaurant owners find another location and get the respect you deserve, I hope the landlord gets to hear my thoughts.
Good fresh Vietnamese food located in Pennington area. I don’t even live close to this area but I know that to get the best Vietnamese food you need to head to the west. I often have visited the other shop in Parafield gardens and rate that as one of the best so I was eager to give this place a go. Location is an experience on its own so is most of the places on Hanson road but it really is great. Car park at the back is filled with holes but who really cares when you are there for the food. Menu is really huge and offers different sizing. All of which are super filling a small bowl of gá pho was more then enough. I also had the grilled pork skewers vermicelli salad and it was fantastic could not fault it at all. Waitresses are super friendly and prices are super affordable. I love this place and I’m happy I finally tried it and can now add it to my list of trustworthy Vietnamese restaurants with quality fresh great tasting food. Side note cold rolls were sick as well!
Absolutely love this place. The food is always fresh, full of flavour and excellent value for money. The dry vermicelli with fresh beef is delicious! The staff are attentive and efficient. Very authentic cuisine. Great local business run by a lovely family.

Food - decent authentic food. Generous portion at a decent price
Experience - very friendly staff. even the restaurant atmosphere is authentic!
Returning - will definitely return again for more!
Can't go wrong with pho baria 2 it's s classic. Don't be fooled by the interior it's the food that counts and the fast service too! I had the combination noodle salad and it was jam packed!
It always nice to have a warm soup when the weather is cold. This time we tried another pho place at hanson road. We had pho and broken rice with pork chop. All food came in a prompt time and taste beautifully. Service terrific though a slight problem with language. Must come another day
I gave this place a 4 not for Pho (despite the name) but the Laksa is one of the best iv had (and iv had a lot) its spicy, fully of flavour and flavoursome large servings of chicken. ! A must try
My favourite place for vietnamese pho in Adelaide. The soup is always rich and tasty, the sliced beef taste fresh. Dinner here always my 20 minute drive worthy.
Delicious. Have had spicy beef noodle soup combination broken rice and the and the vermicelli soup. Yummy. If it's busy they'll take your order while you wait. Oh, the fish lemonade is so refreshing.
Good customer service and delicious Vietnamese food. Ordered a bowl of beef pho and it was refreshing to see that they didn't hold back on the tripe and tendon. Whereas other restaurants leave out these ingredients in the attempt to attract a larger demographic. I really appreciate the authenticity here. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be returning.
When Pho Thanh closed years ago I was really upset. Pho Minh's opening hours never seemed to suit me. Then I discovered Nghi Ngan Quan in Ferryden Park and all seemed well. A few years later and I thought I was in trouble again - Mai's Kitchen became too trendy. Pho Han and Pho Hong Tam were a little too far away.
So I went back to Pho Baria 2. I'd visited a couple of times over the years and decided that I didn't fancy it all that much. Back then the soup I had lacked flavour or depth. Now I find I really enjoy it - I visited a couple of times in the space of a week while I was in Adelaide. It's definitely on the sweet side though. I'll be back for sure.
A nice family owned restaurant with a traditional feel and authentic Vietnamese food. Staff service was top notch as they actually took time to ask how certain components of the dish should be cooked for the best experience, as well as being very friendly and cooperative. The com tam dac biet (special broken rice) was very nice, although lacking the quantity of components; but the com chien dac biet was very nice, with bbq pork and the Chinese sausage really adding flavor. In terms of the cash to taste ratio, it makes up for less quantity with low pricing. Overall, nice food with awesome customer service.
I am really not sure about Pho Baria 2. While I enjoyed the food, I would not come back in a hurry. It was just not inviting with a few seedy characters. One woman was so drunk that she could barely sit ... It just put me off.
The generous servings in this restaurant coupled with the amazing quality food make it a stand out in the area. Highly recommend to anyone !
My favourite place to have bun bo hue and pho! The staff are also very lovely and food comes out quickly too. Most importantly the soup is always very hot. Definitely a must try in the western suburbs
I come past here every now and then and the Pho never seizes to amaze. Staff are friendly and really flexible with the orders. Portion sizes are large and very reasonably priced. Great selection of drinks as well! The jackfruit smoothie and longan drink are particularly good.
I happily withdraw every single word I've said about this restaurant on the mere fact that it has completely stepped up its game. Points given for attentive service, sprucing up the place, and delicious food. I ordered the crab, pork and tomato vermicelli soup and it currently holds the crown for best restaurant bun rieu. Lovely red colour, generous amount of meat (no tofu used as fillers), and flavours on point. The seafood soup (hu tieu) also was flavoursome.
Old review:
Been a customer at Pho Baria 2 for years however was disappointed with my final visit. Was looking to satisfy my pho cravings and wondered why we hadn't returned to this restaurant in a while. My previous experiences did not take long to surface as soon as I walked in. The restaurant almost had a cold and uninviting atmosphere to it. The waitress was too busy to acknowledge our presence and left us waiting for 15 minutes to have our order taken. Fortunately we got up and left before they had a chance. Previously when I've ordered the pho, I've always had low-quality, fatty pieces of beef and your palette would be met with a strong taste of MSG. The place is a bit depressing and I now go to Khang's noodles to get my pho fix.
Always top notch pho no matter what time. Authentic tasting brith at a great price. This has been one of our regular pho places for lunch for many years.
Consistency and goodness - the two things that Baria 2 does really well. Everytime we're there they always serve up tasteful dishes that are so worth the price. And they always do it with a smile.
Definitely try the combination pho, the combination rice and the riceless honey chicken, which is arguably the best in Adelaide. Don't shy away from the drinks either - try the durian smoothie, it will change your life.
Great selection of noodles and soups and classic Vietnamese fare, done well with clean surroundings and table service. I recommend the bun rieu cua, as you won't find it in many cafes - a delicious crab and prawn soup with tomato.
great little beef noodle joint. cant comment on the other food but definitely the best beef noodles in town. great price and friendly service
The classic authentic Viet restaurant complete with menus under the glass on the table, and mirrors on opposing walls. Other Viet restaurants have been upgrading their interiors trying to get more classy but I guess I'm a fan of the way ba ria remains unassuming and hasn't tried to change to increase profits but concentrates on what made it good in the first place - great cheap Viet food! We always get great friendly service with a smile when we come. Offers the usual Viet restaurant suspects such as pho, vermicelli noodle dishes, and combination rice dishes. But I would recommend the spicy beef and pork noodle (bun bo hue), which ba ria probably offers the best non-homemade version in Adelaide. Add a Viet coffee or a three colour bean drink and you've got a great meal for real cheap. Have been coming here for a quick, cheap and tasty dinner for many years and will keep coming back!
One of the better restaurants that offer pho in Adelaide ! The pho was really authentic, and the soup they made was really made. A lot of places that I've been to adds a lot of MSG or flavouring to their soup, but this place, it really felt like they put in a lot of effort in making it. Their sizing of the bowls are just like a lot of the Vietnamese restaurants around, and that's really big... like REALLY big. The amount of pho you get in a large bowl is insane, and i usually have to share with another person, if not i could skip the next meal. I ordered my go-to beef combination pho, and it was just brilliant. The amount of meat given is no joke, you get to eat a variety of beef and they all go so well with the soup. They were also really generous with the salads, however I'm not a big fan of raw bean sprouts, as i don't like the initial and after taste of it even when i drown them in the soup, so i didn't put any in. Normally at the end, i leave the soup, but at Pho Baria 2, the soup was just too good to pass up, so i finished it all this time.
Although, i was quite satisfied with Pho Baria 2, and it really produced some quality pho which i would defiantly come back for again and again.
Best pho in Adelaide! Love the broth and the generous serving sizes. Food is fresh, service friendly and fast, and prices reasonable. Keep wanting to try the rest of the menu but it's so hard to steer from the pho. This is the first 5.0 I've given so that shows how highly I rate this place!
These guys are incredible. Lovely service, amazingly fresh food made seriously fast.
I could eat the broken rice combination weekly for the rest of my life.
Best pho in town!. Love this place, used to eat there regularly but my pho partner in crime moved away and I don't w ant to eat solo.
Excellent food at great prices, don't worry about the location.
Great!. I love their combination pho, tapioca egg noodle combo, broken rice combo is good as well. In my opinion they have the best pho in adelaide
Found this gem whilst trying to google where the best Adelaide Pho is, I think I've found it. been here at least once a week since I drank this delicious nectar. usually order the fresh slice beef pho, always good. tried the spicy beef on suggestion of another big Ba Ria fan and it was amazing.
I usually add soy, hoisin and a ton of siracha but this can be 100% enjoyed on it's own. small is enough for a normal person, large is almost like a salad bowl with about 2L of broth! can't imagine how big the extra large is..... broken rice is also great, and try the shave ice Lychee drink! very refreshing.
service is what you pay for so quit complaining about how they talk and enjoy fast no nonsense service! foodies will love. don't think - just go. you won't be disappointed.
Good food, service is lacking 9/10. Food is good but the waiter wearing the fitness hub shirt is pretty grumpy. wouldeatagain/10
Best spicy beef and pork noodle soup
BEST. Everything about this place is amazing, Pho (beef and Chicken) Laksa + Pad Thai...I wish I could eat here every single night!

Sooo goood. Food quick, food good, food cheap.
boom. review done.
Good value and great pho!
Happy customer. I come here to get takeaway combination rice, I always ring up before and when I arrive it's always there on time. Workers always friendly, positive attitude. Rice is amazing. Quick service. 10/10 for me. Happy customer always :)
Stumbled across this place on my way home. Love it. Ver authentic and fresh!
Thanks for having us!!
Yumy Pho!. I've had the Pho twice and its been brilliant each time - highly recommend it.
Great Pho, first time visitor, but I'll be back!
I Loved it. Well it was my first time trying this place as i have driven past it for the last 15 years and well worth it as i had the beef noodle soup and it was dead set awesome going back soon
Great Pho and friendly people. Dropped in off the street for lunch had a serve of cold rolls to start. They were pretty darn good and served with a nuoc-cham peanut dipping sauce. We squabbled like seagulls over the third roll to be shared between us! Two bowls pho with fresh beef were delicious. The broth was just right, a rich beefiness and not too sweet. There was plenty of sliced beef and fresh rice noodles. A plate of crisp herbs and shoots topped it all off. Just wish we were in this area more, we'd make PBR2 a regular! (Oh, and they do take cards which lots of the little pho shops don't).
Liked the spicy beef & pork noodle soup with fresh noodle. but avoid going during peak hours as they are frequently understaffed and can be a long wait for service and food.
Best Pho in Adelaide. After trying multiple Pho places in Adelaide Ba Ria comes out number 1.
Most authentic you'll find with fresh noodles and the most delicious broth.
You must try it!
I like their durian smoothies so much!
Best Pho. Pho Ba Ria 2 is one of my favourite places to eat in Adelaide. It's about the Pho, which is some of the best that I've had in Adelaide, and I think it's about the atmosphere as well. Plastic sauce bottles, a choice of three types of chilli sauce as well as fish sauce, a box of tissues instead of paper napkins. I can't comment on any of the other dishes on the menu, I've never been tempted to go beyond the Pho.
Great Pho and 3 bean colour drink!
The best food. I go baria frequently!! and have been going there for 17 years the staff are helpfull friendly and the food is great try my personal fav beef noodle soup!!! you will love it!

(W)e’ve only tried about three or four of the other Pho places but this one is so damned good that I can’t tear myself away.
We visited on a cold rainy day as we were craving for some warm hearty food and a bit of chilli.
The spring rolls were hot and crispy. The flavour of the broth in the Pho was very well balanced. It was the perfect balance of saltiness and sweetness. The beef was nice and tender. The chilli was fresh and definitely hit the spot The prawn crackers were great too.
The only let down was the rear carpark. It was full of puddles and we had to go and park on the street to avoid messing up our shoes.
PBR2 is great! It reminds me of the Vietnamese restaurants in Cabramatta, Sydney. Friendly service and great menu. It was my first time so I tested it out based on the pho which was delicious. The broth had the perfect balance of salty and sweet with super fresh noodles. The spring rolls serviced piping hot straight out of the oil - so good
Old school kind of restaurant. Makes you feel like you're in Vietnam. The durian smoothie was delicious and thick. So refreshing. Pho broth was tasty and heart warming. But it wasn't served hot enough. Noodles were fresh, soft and delicate. Combination rice was not bad. Entree roast duck was very flavoursm too. Decently priced.
Best pho I have ever had in Adelaide. It was delicious and cheap. The soup tastes great. You can add source as you want. The service is also good and quick. It's a pho restaurant that I go regularly for more than 5 years. There is a parking behind the restaurant. You can also park by roadside.
You can experience the flavor of real rice noodles, not a miscellaneous or artificial taste. Ox tail is addable
Laksa was not bad. Hot tea is free.
Some of the best pho in Adelaide and really friendly decent service. It’s impossible to have a bad meal here, I had a chicken laksa the other day and it was amazing. My wife also swears by the meatballs!
Amazing noodles and service here. Must try if you like Vietnamese cuisine. There's no a dish let me down. Vietnamese coffee is 👍
