Review Burek Lounge - Woodville

Excellent service (Alessandra was a legend). Excellent food. Looked after my wife's dietary needs. I'm a fat dude and couldn't eat all the food! Do not take your vegetarian friends (if you're unlucky enough to have some) here, it is meat central and amazing for it!

It's a place for a nice heavy meat-centred meal. The feta chips is something I have never had before. It did not disappoint.

Our first time here. Loved this place. Great Food. Great Service. Cannot Fault. Definitely will be coming back!!!!

Take Away - chevup in bread. Amazingly tasty, great soft grilled bread filled with cream, onion and little chevups. A delight to eat and a real different cultyral experience. Well worth a try!

Have driven past Barbecue Brotherz at Woodville South so many times being a local, my wife and I decided to give this restaurant a go and we were not disappointed. The serves were generous, the food was exceptionally tasty and the staff were very helpful and friendly. I would recommend giving this local business a go whether you dine in or take away.

Visited today for the first time. It’s still a new place, but that didn’t come in the way of the awesome food we enjoyed. Great food and great service. Will be definitely going again next Sunday with the family. Highly recommended.

Absolutely incredible food! The mixed grill says its for two but easily feeds three!

Date night with the better half on Saturday night so we thought we'd give this place a go and all I can say is WOW! We got the 'mixed grill for 2' and could not have been happier!! Everything we tried was a flavour explosion in our mouths and was definitely worth every cent!! Can't remember having felt so satisfied after a meal in a long, long time. Highly recommend to all. And if the food wasn't already a reason to go the service was immaculate! Thanks Burek Lounge!

First timers. Was fantastic food. We had the platter for 2. Plenty on it!! Staff are lovely. I left my handbag behind and the young man found it. Put it away safely till i returned to collect it. Cant thank them enough for that!! Thank you Alvaro and staff ��

Great food great staff would recommend mixed grill

Their breakfast platter for two is amazing! If you like a variety of delicious food but can't decide what to have then give this a shot. Delicious, evenly balanced and inexpensive for two people! Their Turkish coffee is brilliant too.

Came here for lunch. The food is tasty, the waitress is friendly and helpful. We got a mixed grill for 3 and it came with the fluffiest bread and the tastiest capsicum relish. Recommended!

ordered the potato salad to be told they were out of potato’s then waited 30 minutes to be told there was no chicken available, after a 50 minute wait our over cooked mix grill came out without the sauce listed on the menu without our additional chips or salad. a 1 is being generous, could of cooked a better bbq at home.

WOW!!!! Amazing value and service. The mixed grill for two is cooked to perfection and devoured with a massive smile on our faces. Congrats to all involved at the Lounge and we will drive from the other side of town again to come back for the unbelievable food. Happy happy customers. Would give it 10 stars if I could!!!!

The food here is fantastic!!! My Mum is a Serb living in England. She loves coming to the Burek Lounge, when she's over visiting us - the food is so authentic!!!

Thoroughly enjoyed our dine in experience in this unpretentious little gem. The service was quick and our waitperson was super friendly - nothing was too much trouble! We ordered the mixed grill which was delicious. We also had the roast lamb which was cooked to perfection and unbelievably tender! Overall, a great little place close to home.

Love coming to this place and cannot fault the food here! I’ve never had to review a restaurant however, I do have a complaint hence the 2 star rating, and thought management should be aware; <br/>I was served by a staff member, whom I believe is kitchen hand or wait staff there, and they proceeded to be quite rude towards me. I’ve never had a problem with any of the other staff but thought this to be particularly odd. There was also a lot of commotion in the kitchen, whether this is normal is unbeknownst to me, however I could tell other customers were uncomfortable. <br/><br/>To top it all off, while I was receiving service from this person, they had sweat dripping down their forehead which was then wiped with their hand. When they walked back into the kitchen to make my meal I noticed they did not wash their hands. Poor hygiene.<br/>I ended up throwing away my meal as I was disgusted to think that some of this sweat had gone into my meal. <br/><br/>I will be back again as I truly do love the food, but can not guarantee I will be ordering if I spot this staff member working and they haven’t (to my knowledge) been advised of this. <br/>

I live near the Burek Lounge and do get food from here quite often. The food is generally quite good but I do have a few things I'd like to bring up that i think it would be good to have fixed up. It seems its had the same issues for the 3.5 years I've been living in the area.<br/>- When ordering takeaway via phone you have to call a mobile number which I think has never been answered on the first call ever. Sometimes you get called back but usually I end up going down there to order in person and wait. Bit annoying.<br/>- Service is always a little lacklustre in my opinion. You can tell it is a family run business rather than a business that has actually hired employees. There is never anyone behind the counter when you enter. Service is generally hit or miss depending on who is serving you. Tables need to be cleaned up sooner after people have left. I have been in there for over an hour with a dirty table next to us. It's not really good enough from a customers perspective.<br/>- Now to the meat. And this place is a 'Meat' restaurant. While quite tasty it is pretty much always overcooked. No such thing as a medium steak here. I wish they would take everything off the grill 5 minutes earlier. It has been mentioned in a number of other reviews and really should be taken note of. Friends of mine who have visited have said the same thing. Also generally the food is underseasoned. Meat loves salt and salt loves meat.<br/>Now i have hit on a number of things that Burek could do better on. But their food is still tasty. And with a few adjustments it could be amazing. And that's really what I want from them because they have that potential. If Burek wants to contact me via FB I'd be more than happy to talk to them.

Have both eaten in and had take away from this restaurant. The food has been great every time! The cevapi is delicious and if you like lots of meat go for the mixed grill! The staff are welcoming and accommodating. Authentic meals full of flavour that the whole family will love! A restaurant that you must stop by and try even if you aren’t a local!

I always love the food from here. Pljeskavica and chevapi are so tasty. Personally I found the breakfast much too salty for my taste (both mushroom meals), but I am very intolerant of salt, so may be ok for others. Also breakfasts are much too expensive compared to other places.<br/>But I highly recommend the mixed grill and other meat dishes.

Had the mixed grill of there east European cuts of meat and was real well prepared and tasted mouth watering good! Service real friendly and local, and keen to go back to try there new advertised breakfast menu.

Good value for money. The bread was freshly made, and the meat is so tasty and tender. They unfortunately sold out of burek, so will be back again soon to snap some up. Great restaurant!

Great value for money every time we go, especially the meat platters and very tasty bread. All the meats and friendly service every time we go.

We got the mixed grill for four ($60). The servings were very generous. There was a combination of sausage, Cvepachi, sashlick, meat patty and steak to go with two salads and bread. Unfortunately, the meat was just really not that flavoursome as well as being chewy. The cvepachi and sausages seemed to have been overcooked or had been cooked previously and reheated. There was nothing interesting about the meat patties or steaks. Won't be coming back.

DELICIOUS. If you enjoy meat cooked over charcoal, that has a beautiful flavour from the coal, is salty and juicy, then this is the place for you! Got the mixed grill and loved every bit of it. The lepinja that you get with it is the best way to mop up all the meat juices in the plate. I'm not one to make a pig of myself with bread, but the freshness of the bread coupled with the beautiful meat and the juices left on the plate, I had to eat the whole roll! Potato salad is a bit bland but coleslaw is nice! Another little gem in the west. Hopefully they keep the prices as they are so I can keep returning weekly!

Great authentic food. Service and food are fantastic! Very affordable too!

Authentic. Lovely place for a meal or takeaway. Come for some Turkish Coffee and delicious cake or have a real authentic meal from around Sarajevo. Weekends they do a lunch roast on a spit. They cook most food in a wood fired oven so everything tastes authentic. Staff are always pleased to help if you are not sure about what you want or what is meat or vegetarian. Generally a great restaurant.

The food is great. The staff are lovely and will go out of their way to make sure you get whay you how you like it. Can bea bit pricey fedepending on what you get. Overall a great place.

Have tried this place a few times now and it continues to improve. I recommend the mixed grill - massive serves with salad and an opportunity to try a but of everything.

It just good food, my kids love it, my 80 year old farther in law who comes from the Burek part of the world thinks it's great. It's defiantly worth a try

Praise The Lord! A place that offers ćevapi with onion and cream that taste like I've stepped back home to Sarajevo. Highly recommend having the meal with a glass of yogurt. It is so delicious. If you're not too keen on the milk, try a Cockta (don't let the name fool ya!). It's a fizzy coke-like drink made out of pomegranate. I am not too big on the desserts but there is plenty for the sweet toothed. <br/>I prefer a Turkish coffee to get me going as I could sit and eat there all day! Just love it.

Searching for a new food adventure found our group of four at Burek Lounge on a Sunday night. Burek Lounge on Findon Rd in Woodville South specialises in grilled meats and Burek, a traditional baked pastry made from filo and filled with either spinach & ricotta, cheese or meat.

The lamb was moist, tender and a little fatty, just like good lamb should be. Slowly cooked over the spit ensures that the meat retains its essentially juices, and the meat just falls away from the bones. The skin was nicely crisp from the spit roasting, and the only complaint is that like Oliver I wanted more!
