Review Paddo Inn - Woollahra

Delicious food, but what was even better was the service. Staff in the front bar were welcoming, friendly and attentive. Will be back for sure.

Couldn’t fault the service, food was amazing exceeding my expectations for a “pub” meal. Definitely stopping by again next time I’m in the area.

Busy, popular pub on Oxford St. Only issue was we went in for lunch about 12.45pm and there was no table seating, many tables with reserved notices. Food was good and drinks were as well. Decent size servings, good atmosphere and friendly staff. Worth a look.

Really good atmosphere. Matt Jackson was the band on the Sunday we were there. Great stalwart of Paddington high street

We had a Sunday sess here and it was quite good. Great drinks and tasty comfort food. Overall nice laidback ambience.

The Paddo Inn is a fun, dog friendly pub with great food, a chilled atmosphere and some really great staff. There is nothing better than sitting in the front bar on a cool but sunny spring Sunday and enjoying some food and wine. Paddington is a strange place - but they do the bars well... and this is one of the best ones on the strip! Love it!

We started with Tuna and Linguine for shared with three people and as a main course we had steak with side dishes (steamed vegetables with chips) every menu was so delicious and enough to shared with three of us. Staffs are friendly too!

Guy behind the bar w/ blonde hair was a legend; Sorry i didn’t get to leave you a tip dude, but thanks for making all my cocktails as tasty as possible. 🙏🏻

It’s an event that takes place once a year in Australia, when the sun’s path across our skies is at its peak. It’s the period when we shall encounter the maximum amount of daylight and it manifests this Summer season into a limited edition small batch potion of zesty botanical notes with gentle collisions of spice and floral. The Aussie launch continues to take place at a pop-up series hosted at Paddington Inn where you too can enjoy the multifarious seasonal rendition of the 20 year old gin presented to mark the summer season!

Took my parents to Paddo Inn for Sunday lunch – the moody dining room and cozy booth table proved to be a great place to escape the rain! We started the afternoon with some shared starters; the oysters were fresh and salty, the chicken liver parfait had great flavour with a silky smooth texture and the creamy Burrata with chargrilled sourdough – yum, yum, yum! We followed that up with perfectly cooked steaks and a couple of bottles of their organic pinot noir – delicious! The service also hit the mark, relaxed and attentive… Great place for a long lunch, we’ll definitely be back!

I really enjoyed my visit to Paddo Inn. I like the ambiance and restaurant decor so much. The staff was very helpful as well. Foods were pretty good but not awesome. This place is very nice for hanging out with friends esp who are looking for a nice vibe

Made a reservation to have a celebration dinner here but when we arrived no one was there to greet us as we stood at the entrance for 10mins. Tried to catch the attention of the waiters but all were too busy. Walked off after wasting our 20mins there. I’m sure the food is good, but very disappointed with the service.

I can’t comment on the food as my gf and I came for drinks but it was nice sitting in a booth catching up over some drinks. We had a few shots to celebrate her birthday and then enjoyed their happy hour which they have Monday - Friday 5-7pm.

Initially it wasn’t that busy so it was great chatting without having to raise our voices. We noticed that it was dog friendly as well as the staff were nice enough to bring out bowls of water for the cute furries.

We were heading elsewhere for dinner but I wouldn’t mind trying their food next time I’m there.

Paddo Inn is a classy bar and grill restaurant along Oxford Street in Paddington. The Matt Moran-fronted restaurant features a vibrant drink hole at the entrance and a spacious high-ceiling dining hall at the back. Here, the dining hall is decorated with white-washed exposed brick walls, large squarished windows and classy gum furnitures. There is also a lovely wall of modernist abstract sketches on the eastern corner of the Inn.

I began my dinner with a chicken liver parfait on green tomato chutney sourdough. The sourdough was cleverly grilled and the slight chargrilled taste was excellent. However, the sourdough was over-grilled and the hard and crunchy bread could be a little tiring for continuous munching. The chicken liver parfait, on the other hand, was smelly and yucky. The chef failed to dredge the liver properly and sufficiently with lemon juice/milk/onions/the lime and it was absolutely impossible to finish them.

The main dish, a grilled pork neck steak with peach and beans, was a huge chunk of pork neck with a thick layer of fats near the bones and ribs. The grilled pork neck was probably overdone and more than borderline hard and rough. I could not see why this was a recommended restaurant in the Good Food Guide.

Ordered steak, mediocre at best. Thin cut and very fatty

The service is aweful- had to call the waiters for everything. They pay no attention to the customer. Won’t be coming back in a hurry

We went to the restaurant part since reading a review that Matt Moran is now part owner and hearing the food was good. To be honest based on the price of a main ($30 +) and service, we were very disappointed. I ordered sparkling water and the waiter put the bottle of water on our table with 2 glasses without pouring. We had to call him over to order. He did not notice that we had finished drinking our wine or beer so the business missed an opportunity to sell us more alcohol. The food was basic and average tasting. I’m usually very complimentary but I would probably not recommend this place to anyone. When it came time to pay our bill we had difficulty getting our waiters attention. After much waiting we decided to get up and walk to the counter so we could finally pay. We usually pay a tip but in this instance it wasn’t worth it. Overall very disappointing. Will not dine or drink here again.

This was a birthday dinner so I was definitely looking forward to this food, but I ordered sirloin and got lamb. I acquiesced for the sake of my fellow diner and accepted the lamb. What was this animal fed on, a cement and sago mix? This lamb was the toughest piece of meat I ever failed to cut and was quickly sent back to the kitchen or the bin. I decided to accept the refund and go home hungry. Sophie was wonderful but the rest of the staff deserve to be at a Chernobyl KFC. Another Justin Hemmes misguided pub foray. Dude, stick to dumplings and fried rice.

Went for lunch during rugby sevens. Must be the singularly worst seafood meal I've had. I odered the flounder. For $40 I expect better culinary skills than boiling . It was absolutely tasteless. The sauce might as well have been boiled water. It took 40 minutes to get it as well. Rip off. Will never go back
Newly revamped pub Paddington Inn was quite the happening place to be at. Friendly locals, great vibe and lovely cocktails. Love the minimalistic decor!

We went to this place on a Saturday night - it looks like a nice pub from outside, a night club with loud music in the middle and a cozy cafe/bistro at the back. The food was overall scrumptious - usual pub meals with interesting twists. Some dishes were a little too salty for my liking, however. Hopefully the refurbished kitchen will deliver even better menu!

We stumbled into the Paddington Inn by accident when we were actually looking for the Paddington. The pouring rain deterred us from leaving to find the latter but we're glad we stayed because the Inn has a lot to offer. While we thoroughly enjoyed the slow cooked lamb, the chicken is where the Inn's game is at. Extremely succulent (with juices flowing as we cut into it!) with a really moreish sauce and a side of crispy potato wedges. The only downside was the food took quite awhile to get to our table >20 minutes possibly but this was specified on the menu in regards to the lamb so we knew what we were getting into.

Apologies for the less than stellar photography, it really is quite dark in there.

Better than average pub grub and, to be fair, the chicken burger was pretty spot on, with ample avo and deliciously smoky chicken and bacon. Not overpriced and a respectable drinks choice too. Plus a comfortable decor with a roomy, sunny front bar. Definitely worth a visit even if it's not going to get wildly rave reviews.

This place definitely is better than pub food around Paddington! We just got the steak but even the side salad was nice. The venue is absolutely gorge, the interior definitely is unexpected but nice and quirky!

Don't order scotch fillet sandwich and 250g grain fed rump!!!!. We orderd steak sandwich and rump steak. Both were over cooked and burnt so the steake and the bread were very bitter and disgusting! We'll never go back!!! The only good thing was the water with mint and lemon.

...The one thing that stands out in this establishment is the food quality. I had the saffron rice with chorizo, chicken, cod, prawns, mussels, tomato, chilli ($25), which if you like seafood was delicious. The seafood was definitely fresh as there was no fishy smell. It tasted like a seafood paella but texture was closer to a risotto. Nice comfort food for a cold, rainy weekend.

It seems to be an old-school corner pub, refurbished nicely with a second bar in the back, an open-air courtyard section in the middle, and an upstairs bar/function area. Not bad for a little local.
Today we decided to venture to the infamous Oxford Street, Paddington here in Sydney. It's Sydney equivalent to Chapel St in Melbourne. I was quite impressed with the variety. Here we are. Me, "The Chefette", MJ & Bevvy (Grandma) Our main reason for visit
Does My Bomb Look Big In This
This recently renovated pub has revamped its menu whilst still retaining its Paddington demeanour. Think of it like The Princess and the Pea , except here the pea (the true test) is a Pinot Gris. The Logan Weemala ($11/glass) passes with flying colours as we settle into a curved booth in the wall and nibble on silky Duck Cabbage Rolls ($14) with smooth baba ghanoush. But it’s not just dainty lady food, you can still get your pub staples like steaks, fish and chips, or the Beef Burger ($16) with crunchy pickles, oozing cheese and smoked chilli mayo

Scared of a crowd. Disappointed as a regular to be turned away from the bar because the young inexperienced bar manager thought a half empty bar was too busy! I wonder what the owners would think. Didn't help that one of the young female bar attendants announced she was going home at closing no matter what! Are they there for the customer or are they there for themselves. We won't be back!

A rather trendy pub in inner Sydney. Having been disappointed with the first couple of pubs that I visited when wondering around Paddington, it was good to finally come across one that I liked (though that was bound to happen sooner or later). There are a mix of beers on tap (ranging from select craft beers to your standard fare – I only ever drink tap beers at pubs) and the prices for a feed are around average. What I really liked about this pub was the courtyard in the middle which had a stairway leading up to a quiet balcony where I could sit in peace and read my book.

Disgusting

Euroka. Worst food in years! Spectacularly dull food. The Moroccan tagine was as Moroccan as a glass of water. Can't understand how a city restaurant can serve food with less impact than a can of baked beans. If you have any appreciation of well cooked, international cuisine, do not waste your money.

Dined here Saturday night, great atmosphere, unfortunately the food lets the place down.

Very ordinary steak!. Dined on Sunday night (04/05/2014), the pub was less than half full so we were able to secure a table easily. Ordered two specials - veal schnitzel and the wagyu sirloin. Meals took at least 30 minutes to come out, which is OK but the pub wasn't very busy. The steak was approx. 10 minutes after the schnitzel. Ordered medium - rare and was presented with a very thin, overcooked steak, with a handful of chips and salad leaves dressed with oil/mustard. Small, overcooked steak with few chips, it was disappointing for $27.

Simon Food Favourites review. Visited on a rainy Sunday. Doors opened at 12 noon although arrived at about 11.45 am but couldn't see the opening hours anywhere which would have been helpful. Sat in one of the rounded booths which was very nice with a view of the back dining area with high ceiling. Tried the Battered John Dory, chips, dill mayo, salad ($18). Batter was thin and crispy in parts with an interesting curry flavour I think. Salad was fresh although would have loved more dressing on it. The Roast chicken, artichoke, carrots, beans, skordalia ($22) had a very tasty chicken with a nice smoky char for extra flavour. Service was friendly.

We went last night before Coldplay, wasn't too busy. Music was so loud we had to shout at each other over the table. Waited 40 mins for food, which was lukewarm. Fish and chips were ok according to my friend, chicken burger was pathetic, prob weighed about 100g, no salad and lukewarm chips. Four of us agreed we wouldn't eat here again. Ok for drinks, but eat somewhere else. Not good value for money either.

New Look and New Menu. Came here for some dinner and drinks on a very balmy thursday night. The place has been reno'd since last time I came and it looks great. We sat at the back in one of the booths, which were really comfortable and generous-really good for our group of 6. Had the Pulled pork tortillas which were excellent, whitebait fritters were good and good old steak was really nice. Great to soak up the vibe with a glass of estrella in hand

Amazing duck salad. Otherwise an all-round good pub. Menu pricier than most but good quality to match. Staff lovely and efficient despite being run off their feet.

Nice Place!. It was a nice place to drop in for a drink and some snacks.

Always have a good time at this pub... Beautiful food, fun crowd. Great for a Sunday session watching Oxford street go by. Plus the staff is stupid hot.

Nothing special but very expensive

Typical Bar. The food here was exactly what you'd expect at a pub. The Beer battered fish & chips is to die for but the service was terrible. The food came out hot but we had to request cutlery & our plates stayed on our tables so long we removed them ourselves.

My first experience at this bar/ bistro was this- drinks that were underpoured and bar tenders that use their hands for EVERYTHING. Don't expect cocktails to be made hygenically! Yuk!
