The best Italian restaurant. Love Zuppa seafood soup and Fiora zucchini flower dish. So delicious and the service is excellent!

My favorite authentic Italian restaurant! Nice environment and a menu that never fails you!

Today Sunday 12/06/22, we've been to this restaurant and trust me guys, it has been one of the best gastronomic delights experience ever. Simply everything, from the entrees to the mains it was just amazing. A Special thanks goes the kitchen staff for the incredible culinary experience. But I want to thank the most to the manager Giuseppe for the wonderful service he did to us. I strongly recommend to try this restaurant. It simply worth every dollar you will spend. Well done Guys👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

We had our wedding reception at Cucinetta and can't speak more highly of the team! While having a reception at a restaurant is a bit different to a proper venue (and required a bit more coordination to remove all of our things at the end of the night) I wouldn't have changed it for the world. The food was AMAZING and there was SO much of it. We opted for the open bar and the cocktails were flowing, the team were super attentive making sure no one was left dry. They were also great in the lead up, happy to answer our million questions. The service staff were so lovely on the night, picked up on peoples preferred drinks and kept them coming, made sure dietary requirements were still well fed, engaged with us and made sure everything was perfect. We had the most magical night. Thank you Cucinetta. Anyone considering this restaurant for a function, do it ! you wont be dissapointed.

Some of the most delicious n memorable Italian food I've had in Sydney. Can't wait to go back. Beautiful setting, great for a special occasion lunch or dinner. Just be warned the portions are very generous, mains can easily be shared, if you ordering just for yourself get entre size

I made a Mother’s Day booking here weeks ago. I gave a credit card to secure and was really looking forward to surprising mum for lunch. I got a call tonight from an employee saying that the restaurant is now doing a reduced set menu and I had to pay $380 upfront for two people to secure my booking. He advised the wait list was so long that he couldn’t hold my place unless I paid. I said this should have been advised earlier when making the booking, as I have now missed my opportunity for other great restaurants given the lack of time left to secure a venue with short notice. When asked why this change had happened, his words were, “we are a business and need to maximise this day” . Such a shame and certainly wouldn’t rebook and won’t be attending. Set menus should be advised at the time of booking! In response to your reply I do have my facts straight. Your staff called again three days later to ask for payment as I said no I would think about it. You are lying here, you have a set menu for mother day, your staff advised exactly below. I have no need to write a false review. There was no technical glitch, you changed after I placed an online reservation - three weeks later when you deciding to profit from Mother’s Day. Your employee was open about the changes. Perhaps think twice before drafting a false reply. Anyone can ring and fact check you

Food was delicious and good portion size. Service was phenomenal. Restaurant is at a great location looking at the harbour bridge . We enjoyed the Liam Powell’s magic show whilst we had our meal. Well done. Thank you for the food and great show.

Atmosphere, service and above all, delicious food! We totally over-ordered because we wanted to try everything and assumed the servings would be small. Word to the wise... they’re anything but small! So generous and high quality not to mention, plain yummy. Recommend the octopus and the seafood tagliolini. Service was wonderful with excellent wine recommendations and a very polite waiter who tried to hint we may have over ordered but let us do it anyway and get the most elegant doggy bag we’ve ever seen! The space was calm and welcoming which only added to our experience. Go midweek when they aren’t so busy, you really get the best of everything! We’ll be back...

Beautiful location, nice ambience in the restaurant. Servers knew everything about the menu and the wine. Our food was DELICIOUS, happy to pay the price for a faultless dining experience.

The entrees were fantastic and the pappardelle was beautiful. Service is very attentive. The desert menu needs something crunchier and crusty. It’s choices are all too creamy soft.

Had lunch on Friday and the view was amazing. The place is a little small but doesn’t feel like you’re on top of each other. Enough room to have a decent conversation.
We were struggling to choose wine and the waiter suggested a particular carb sav - absolutely shocking for the price it was. $90 for a bottle and it tasted like barn, which tells me the wine is off! So we asked to have it changed. Another waiter was nice to change it and didn’t charge us for it. Top marks.
Food was good! Had pork belly, gnocchi, chips and rocket and Parmesan salad. The food was tasty. Nothing too diabolical to fault it. All in all, it was a good lunch. But a bit too pricey for the level of food and service. However, I do understand that you’re paying for the view. I’ll definitely go back!

Perfect date night dinner! The steak was perfect, we love the taste and texture! Gnocchi was also surprisingly delicious, as we ordered it for a random tryout. The daily special entree - zucchini flower was amazing as well! Slightly disappointed that we didn’t get a table with the view. Will definitely come back!

“Hearty Italian Dishes with Warm Hospitality and Homey Ambience”

I came here last night with my husband for a dinner. This restaurant has ticked each aspect of a satisfying dining experience. High quality food, warm hospitality, homey ambience and gorgeous view of cityscape as the backdrop. We ordered piadina with truffle, honey and ricotta cream as the entree, crab spaghetti and ling which was fish of the day as the mains. We love all of them. I observed tomato seems like the main ingredient of the sauce for those main dishes which makes them taste healthy, light and the portion is not that big. Wine is also good. Eccellente.

Beautiful set up here with stone walls and an amazing view of the harbour bridge. Service was excellent, food was top notch. The scallops were perfectly cooked and the spaghetti with crab was delicious. The prices are high but you get what you pay for. Would be nice place to take a date.
Does My Bomb Look Big In This
The city lights are sparkling on this clear winter’s night. Vivid Sydney has added an extra dimension to the panoramic view, and we brave the cold to pause outside Cucinetta to take it all in. Perched on the edge of the Woolwich Lookout, the restaurant looks like a modern, glass-fronted box; however if you venture inside – and you should - you’ll find a warm, earthy space inspired by Tuscany. Organic materials – exposed bricks, wood paneling and stacked logs over the kitchen pass – are softly accentuated with warm, golden light. Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong softly croon their way through the Cole Porter songbook. Even staff look thematic, with white shirts and soft brown pants held up with braces, finished with bow ties and coppole (traditional Italian flat caps). Led by the talented Restaurant Manager Lucio D’Amico, the well-dressed floor team shepherd us through an experience that feels more like...

I head into Cucinetta in Woolwich on this particularly sunny and gorgeous Sunday. Cucinetta has one hat from the Australian Good Food Guide so I was eager to check it out and had high expectations. I look out and see the Harbour Bridge view and smile. It's a nice day and you have to appreciate life's little pleasures.

In Short: Cucinetta in Woolwich combines traditional Italian favourites with inspiring innovations, all set on a breathtaking stage with epic Sydney Harbour scenery as the backdrop. Chef Mazzotta has created a food experience that is world class and yet draws a relaxed atmosphere from its quaint surrounds. Woolwich is lucky to have this caliber of culinary mastery at its doorstep. Tip: Definitely order the herb and garlic flat bread with buffalo ricotta and truffle honey to start your meal off on the perfect foot!

(1.5/5.0) Cucinetta is a upmarket Italian restaurant in Woolwich. Housed in a beautifully-lit cottage perched on top of Hunter’s Hill, the restaurant overlooks the gorgeous harbour and harbour bridge. The service crew is playfully dressed like the 1960s Italian comedians; the entire ambience is light hearted and relaxed. The restaurant offers a pretty straightforward menu - but how on earth were day hatted is as profound as who comes first, a chicken or an egg.

I began my evening with an aeperol spritz. I rarely mentioned drinks unless they are extremely good or downright terrible. Cucinetta’s aeperol spritz falls under the latter category and is bitter and insipid. The lack of the fizzle adds to the bitterness which bites on my tongue.

The entree was a burrata, a fresh milk cheese from mozzarella and cream. Cucinetta’s burrata lacked a deep natural flavour and it’s inside contains a solid cheese rather than the stracciatella common in other Italian restaurants.

The main dish, a certain spaghetti made with organic parsley, and served with crab meat on a dish of thick tomato sugo sauce. First, the tomato purée was heavy and probably overwhelmed the taste and natural sweetness of everything else. Like an possessive ex-Girlfriend, the tomato purée clings onto my tastebuds - overpowering and rudimentary.

What a lovely restaurant!! Situated at Hunters hill with lovely harbour view. The food was presented very well with very friendly staff. Celebrated a friend's bridal shower and got the cake from outside. The staff took extra efforts of cutting the pieces and placing them beautifully on the plate before serving them. My main course wasn't great. But overall a nice place for a lovely dinner.

I have always wanted to come to this restaurant because of the amazing Harbour view. This is my first visit and I am amazed by the taste and presentation of the food. Everything on the menu seems delicious and we tried the aged tuna as appetizer, spaghetti with crab meat and pork belly as main and hazelnut and chocolate fondant as dessert. All of them taste really good. Will definitely come back again.

We are a family of 20 adults who are foodies and Globetrotters. We made a reservation here to celebrate an uncle's 60th birthday.
We had a fabulous 4 course meal.

The HIGHS
Leggeri:
Sardinia bread with buffalo mozzarella with olives
Calabese Salami platter

Secondi:
13 hr Lamb shoulder (perfect)
Bangalow Pork belly (perfect)

Desert:
Chocolate Lava cake (perfect)

The (not-so-high):
gnocchi with crab [shared pasta fresca] - comes in a tomato based gravy, which masks the delicate flavour of the crab.

Beef carpacio : fresh but lacked flavour

Fish with white wine sauce and 3 beans : bland and lacked flavour. Cooking of the fish (Barramundi) was spot on.

Service: 5/5

They let us bring our own wines & spirits and charged us the corkage accordingly.

Definitely a place to visit if you love Italian food.

It was a pleasure to dine at Cucinetta, easily one of my favourite venues of 2017 so far. It is elegant and affluent with top notch fine dining and wonderful harbour views but it still manages to be relaxed, non-pretentious and a superb place to indulge in a wine paired degustation.
Review is now up on Spooning Australia.

Elegant, classy and stylish. Beautiful atmosphere and scenery, excellent service and delicious food. The location will win you over, it is a truly beautiful eating experience. Highly recommend if ever in the mood to treat yourself... or if you're super hungry!

The decor is stylish with white tablecloths and a slight rustic hint, the service is friendly and attentive, the food is always surprising with a real focus on the authentic region of Sardinia. We have been for special occasions or even mid week specials and always felt we want to come back again, Not many places do that. However if you do come you must try two things. The Ricotta with honey and Sardinian flatbread and the gnocchi - the lightest pillows of heaven even made (regardless of the sauce of the day). They always have something slow cooked as is the style of the region. Stay longer and enjoy the view. You wont be disappointed.

Thank you, Cucinetta for an amazing evening. We had the L'italia a tavola menu and it was superb. Top favourites include the carasua, salumi and for secondi the salmon pesce, cooked to perfection. The restaurant last night was fully booked. However it didn't feel busy at all. You know a restaurant kitchen is well coordinated when the food is delicious , the timing of all dishes is the same, but you feel like you are the only ones dining there because the staff make it look easy. We were a party of 8 and EVERYTHING was perfect. When I looked around at all the other tables, all I could see were smiles . I knew we weren't the only ones treated to a very special evening at Cucinetta!

Have been here before and really enjoyed it, but our last visit was very under par. The service was very inattentive. My wife's lamb shoulder was very fatty. My pasta was more crunchy than al dente and the ragu was a nice sauce, but not a true ragu. For the price, I expect a lot more. Won't be back in a hurry.

Came here for some after work drinks. Had the aperol spritz and the Congac and olives as a side. Was such a lovely experience. I particularly love the view! Wow!!! I have already booked to come back on the weekend to try the food
Nayla Tayar
Cheers

This is the BEST Italian restaurant I have ever been too, this place is fantastic...
The food there is Amazing and I have fallen In love with the mascarpone and honey starter.
One of the Best Italian in Sydney. I have now been to this restaurant four times in the past four years. Each time it gets better, and the first time was fantastic. You really must try their Risotto, it has some very special ingredients that will hit the spot. Their Rocket salad is also a masterpiece, its those fine ingredients that give it so much flavour. You can BYO through the week, and its a bargain to bring your own cracker wine for a nominal charge. Sure, don't bring Jacobs Creek, that's a waste, Look in your cellar for a moda amarone or a Brunello, this is what you need for the great food. I brought my cousins here , out from Rome for a holiday - they said they hadn't had as good in Rome - SPQR - and i agree, This is not at the cheap end of the market, but the food is Sensational. Who needs a view?
The Napoli Alert
So the verdict – lovely surrounds, friendly staff, food with finesse and good flavours overall, but the serving sizes relative to price are disproportionate. Italian food usually equates with generosity, and they need just a little more of it here.
Over-rated. Decent pasta, average main course, poor dessert (claiming to be Cassata Siciliana but no more Sicilian than I am!) noisy, slow service, hefty bill. This place thinks it's better than it is.

Don't bother.. Use to be a good place, down on quality up on price $10 per bottle BYO on a Tuesday night. Lamb was HORRIBLE boiled not roasted forequarter not shoulder at $55 per head. Been here a few times not again grazie, NO THANKS.

Never disappoints. I have been to Cucinetta several times, once in a large group of 40ppl+, and have always thoroughly enjoyed the food. The service is always impeccable - friendly waiters who aren't overbearing. The food, although pricey, is worth it for the taste and views. The calamari for entree is consistently good, and the lamb shoulder is to die for. The scallops I've had here were also delicious, but seems they are only seasonally on the menu. I'm already looking forward to returning.

Great location with amazing views food overall is good, overpriced entrees but lamb shoulder and beef cheeks hit the spot, better to BYO.

Was expecting better. For a place with a spectacular view and convincing reviews, should have been accompanied by good food. Service was good, wait staff were attentive and knowledgeable of the menu but sadly the food came up short. Pasta dishes were more of a stew because of too much sauce, salmon was well done and presented poorly with over-dressed salad. Spatchcock was a winner though so as the appetisers. Probably just a bad night for the chefs...
Charley
Very Disappointed. Disappointed both times I have been to Cucinetts. The food is fine, the view amazing but there it stopped. Squeezed in like sardines with very poor service. When we didn't leave a tip on our last visit because of the poor service they added it on after the credit card was signed. Check you credit card statement if you don't want a surprise. Never again!
Alex
This is the best fine dining Italian restaurant in Sydney, spectacular city sky line views, fabulous food with first class service.

Very disappointed at Cucinetta. ..sorry, wont be going back there again. Whilst service & food were good, prices were a rip-off!
Usually chefs specials are cheaper..not here - $26/head for 2 zucchini flowers! as an entre ! & bottled water - $9.50!!
Also BYO advertised as free corkage was charged at $8/bottle...much better value around even with the view which we couldn't see because of the roll down plastic curtains ( it was a warm balmy night!!)
Boris
Rude. Disappointed all round & I can't recall anything positive to say

Overpriced and tricky waiters. Location is great, food is quite nice but way overpriced and the way we were treated was terrible. The waiter asked us if we'd like to have some olives with our aperitif. We said we did but they then served us a plate with some breadsticks and olives for $ 21 !! That is just ridiculous!! We felt mislead. Never go there again.
Matthew
Not good enough!. Arrogant attitude and really poor value for money ruined what could have been a pleasant experience.
