This is somewhere between 4 and 5 stars so not a lot to improve on at all. I shared a meat platter with a friend and it was close to the perfect amount of food for 2 biggish fellas, leaving just enough room for dessert. Beautifully flavoured and cooked meats with tasty sides. Mrs Average had the Gnocchi with gorgonzola cream sauce which was good but not perfect (and she has tried nearly every gnocchi 'zola out there so I trust her judgement). Pasta was possibly a pre-made rather than a fresh pasta. The service was again quite good but not 5 stars. It was semi busy in there so you have to give some leeway but we didn't feel overly engaged. Definitely one I would go back to though and would recommend

I ordered the dukkah stack and was disappointed with the lack of dukkah, though. Considering it's in the dish name, I expected more than a pinch. The fetta and honey combo was delightful though.
Located on the Lower North Shore of Sydney, Ironwood Coffee resides in the picturesque leafy suburb of Woolwich. With city views and a ferry wharf in close proximity this secret spot is surprisingly easy to access.
Ironwood not only roasts it own coffee, but has an extensive menu with everything from all day breakfast, lunch, dinner, fresh seafood, pasta and wood fire pizza, char grilled meats and dessert! What more could we ask for!
With Greek influences running through their menus we tried just a few bits and pieces off the menu.
Greek salad, Quinoa & roast pumpkin salad, Stuffed zucchini flowers, Wood fire margarita pizza, Spaghetti pescatora, Char grilled lamb cutlets, Greek style calamari, and the Grilled seafood platter.
Once you have decided on food, why not flick though the wine list to pair with you choice of protein.
Located very close from Lane Cove River, this venue offers an extensive menu from Breakfast, Lunch to Dinner. Here you can find classic Cafe dishes as well as Greek food.
I love their rustic style decor and the cozy ambience throughout. Seating area can accomodate large groups of people, especially if you sit inside (they also have outdoor seating area).
They serve their own blend of coffee and I loved it!
As for the dishes, everything I tried was a pleasure to eat.
Sticky Honey Pork Belly: Absolutely delicious. Crispy cracklings and juicy meat that was full of flavours.
Barramundi Meuniere: Fish was cooked to perfection and every element worked wonderfully.
Greek Style Calamari: Tender calamari with lemon zest aioli, yum!
Crispy Tempura Baby Zucchini Flowers: Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, to die for!Definitely one of the best I’ve ever tasted.
I also tried their Baklava for dessert. Yum.
Exactly what the area needed. Great coffee and great service. Pizza was something special, toasted to perfection. All the staff were more than happy to accommodate our large booking.
Great location with views of the city and the harbour bridge. Simple food, not complicated at all. We shared a Margherita pizza, quinoa salad, chips and chargrilled chicken. Food was quick and also delicious. The chips were a bit too much and on the oily side but all in all it was a simple but tasty dish. With a bottle of wine, expect to pay about $100 -$120 dollars for 2.
The place is buzzing when we walked in at 11:30 (when their lunch time starts!), a very friendly staff got us a table and took our order. Unfortunately the oven was not ready, so we didn't get to order pizza.
We ordered the Dip trio and the grilled seafood platter for 2. The dip came really quickly. Never knew warm bread and dips could be that satisfying.
Disappointingly, we had to wait for 40 minutes until our seafood platter came (when we could see other tables that came after us got theirs), not sure what took so long.
The food was really good and the scallops were very juicy.
We saw that the cakes looked amazing when we were waiting to be seated, so we got the lime and coconut cake and the Greek custard pastry slice to end the meal. They were both very delicious! Highly recommend the lime and coconut cake for coconut lovers (like me!)
We might come back, but will definitely not order anything that looks too complicated to avoid the wait.
Referred here by friends who know food and we were not disappointed. Generous honest quality food and attentive staff. Hopefully the standard will be just as high when we return in future.
Surprised by this place. We had a last minute booking on sat night. Ordered a few entrees, best of the lot was the Provolone Fondu which was featured on the specials menu. It was gooey and yum and warm and wow, would come back just for that dish. Seafood plate was nice and fresh. Everything including service was good. Generous portions which I like. Will return.
Lovely location with a great city harbour view. Definitely a good choice for a family gathering. Friendly staffs and good service.
*Seafood risotto: tomato based, a hint of hot spice but not very strong which brings it to a whole new level! Best risotto ever!
Linguine: good one.
Sticky honey pork: crispy skin and tender for the meat. Well cooked! Brilliant!
Lamb skew: not as surprising as I thought it could be. A bit dry.
Fig with haloumi: surprisingly good. The fruity sour and sweetness of figs add more flavours to the haloumi.
Tiramisu: house made. Worth tried!
Lovely location, not far from the Harbour. It was pretty quiet for a Sat morning when we got there, but by midday, the place was packed with the lunch crowd. We all got something from the breakfast menu, I had the Ironwood Grande, which was generous in bacon & sausages, taste wise is about average for a good breakfast. My friends both enjoyed their meals, mushroom haloumi stack and eggs florentine with smoked salmon & hash browns. Overall, solid offering on the food front. Special kudo to the staff, for being very helpful with my friend who brought her baby along in the pram, helping her getting through the cafe and rearranging the table to fit the pram, all done with a great attitude!

A friend suggested we have lunch here one day. I've been to this area many times, but this would be the first time I've seen or heard of this cafe/restaurant.
I ordered a souvlaki plate, which came with pita bread, salad and dip. It was a bigger portion than I had imagined, very generous.
The service was good. They were quick to seat us and bring the menus. The food came out at a good time.
A busy and happening cafe, it seemed quite popular with all groups of people like families, friends, and couples.
The service was pretty good especially as we were a big group today and taking our orders can be challenging as some are quicker at choosing than others.
We all got an assortment of dishes today. The menu is quite extensive with their all day breakfast so choosing one thing was challenging but offers something for everyone. I had the Baked Eggs Greek Style (baked scrambled eggs with tomato salsa, basil and feta cheese s/w sourdough toast & roasted tomato) and got a side of bacon to go with it. I had a Banana Silk (fresh banana, honey, milk, vanilla, ice cream). The eggs were yummy and cooked well. It still had a nice creamy texture and wasn't too hard as some scrambled eggs can get. The feta and basil went really well with it. The bacon was a nice addition to this vegetarian dish. The smoothie was delicious.
We went here for breakfast for the first time, on a horrible wet & windy day & it was so nice to walk in & be greeted by lovely smiling waitstaff & a welcoming vibe. We were treated to great friendly service. Generous servings. Delicious food & great coffee. We will definitely be back for breakfast & can't wait to try out the lunch & dinner menus as well. Well done Ironwood!!
I've been here a few times now and the food is great. I'm a big fan of their Haloumi BLT without the bacon. Book a seat by the window and watch the world go by!
Came here for dinner on a Thursday and it was really busy but meals came out quickly. Pasta portions were massive and quite tasty but would have preferred fresh pasta since it was $29. Partner enjoyed his lamb. First time I've seen wine by the glass for $5 at a restaurant in Sydney!
Very large servings and a huge menu, so it took us a while to order.
We went for the Chicken Tenderloin Burger and Beef Gyros, which were both reeally good but the burger was so big that i started feeling sick of it towards the end. We also got the Greek Style calamari as a starter, very nice and soft. Not bad for a first time experience. We would've liked to try a dessert but we couldn't fit anything else! Wanted to go to an area we haven't been to before and finally came across Ironwood in Woollich. The location is lovely and has a view of the city if you're sitting by the window or outside. Both the menu and serving sizes here are massive. There's pages and pages of food so it did take us a little while to decide what to order! We eventually ordered the zucchini fries as a starter, huge size for a 'starter', they really filled us up and we could've just eaten them and left with satisfied tummies... but we had already ordered our mains along with the starter (hello food coma!) We ordered the wild mushroom risotto and a spaghetti pescatara. Both were very tasty and a very large size. We also ordered a Greek coffee to try. We're no experts on Greek coffee but it was very rich, and had a grainy texture. Sounds a little strange but it tasted a bit like a red bean puree soup! Probably wouldn't order the Greek coffee again, but a good experience! Overall we were quite satisfied and would recommend!

A friend and I both ordered the Greek street style Gyros, mine was with chicken and the other was lamb. Both $20 each and both came wrapped in a warm thick style pitta break served with chips.
When we popped in it was still Jan holidays so the place was packed! After flagging a staff down we ordered and waited. For a drink i ordered the toffee coffee and my friend the citrus crush.
Yum! Loved my chicken gyros and the chips were plentiful and very hot! The toffee coffee is just as you would expect - sickly sweet but delicious!
Overall, great first time experience. Will indeed be back to try some of their wood fired slow roasts! They sound dang tasty!
This is a deceptively big place and caters for big numbers come weekend breakfast. A mix of couples, oldies, cyclist and runners make up the clientele. The menu is wide ranging and has some gems.
The Bircher Muesli was a huge serve and tasted great. The pancakes looked fluffy and again serving size was big.
Good solid place for Breaky.
If you didn’t live in Woolwich, the darling of the peninsula on the lower north shore of Sydney, there used to be very few reasons to head down there except for those few times a year, when you were vying for a top spot down at Clarkes Point Reserve to watch the fireworks on New Years Eve or Australia Day.
Great service - massive meals fast and efficient recommended highly. Location is great - the vibe is positive and gives off a positive energy
Went for 'brunch' on a Friday and had the eggs florentine and friend had the Bircher muesli. Would definitely recommend. Great food and great service.
Big feed! I had the vegetarian breakfast and it was delicious. This is good basic food - not like those trendy Newtown breakfasts. If you want large servings of delicious traditional breakfasts come here
Sydneyfoodie. I visited Iroonwood last week for their grand opening. All I can say is wow! Great food, great atmosphere and most of all great service. This will definitely be my new local. Ironwood is just what Woolwich needed.
Amazing Atmosphere!. Calming and Buzzing atmosphere that generates a homely/ inviting feeling. Fresh produce and delicious food! What stood out for me the most was the service by the 3 smiling boys who took the time to familiarise themselves with not only me - but with every other customer in the room! Great restaurant I will definitely make it a regular!
