The food was outstanding. I had the fish of the day (red snapper) on eggplant with fennel washed down with MR rieseling, with opera gateau for dessert. The service and setting was also very good. A great experience.

This is a brilliant gallery which is always hung beautifully and rotated regularly. The gallery has a lovely atmosphere and is professionally curated by a friendly and competent team. The bistro serves the most delicious food, wonderfully presented. The chef is a genius! You can eat indoors or outdoors surrounded by a lovely garden filled with native birds. The Studio Gallery & Bistro is a real treat and not to be missed! You will not be disappointed!!!

Casual joint with amazing food - we had the seasonal seafood stew which was out of this world and the PORK SCOTCH - don't even get me started. I really almost wanted to come back for dinner on the same day to try the casserole! The place has a beautiful view (we came in winter so was a bit too chilly to sit outdoors) and would imagine it would be lovely to sit by the garden for lunch in spring. The BYO was great too :)

Just love Studio Bistro. Steve & Tom are wonderful hosts, the food is absolutely sensational and there is a fabulous, quality wine list. Beautiful relaxed setting, highly recommend.

Dinner here was beautiful. Intimate setting background music was loud enough to hear it but not too loud that we couldn't have a conversation. Friendly attentive service- Degustation menu & Matched wines was superb! Will definitely be back �

We enjoyed a share dish of Brazilian -inspired fish stew. Generous serve. Beautiful, tranquil setting on a deck, surrounded by a fresh green garden and interesting Balinese/Japanese door feature on the fence, with the Art Gallery to one side. The Scottish waiter and the host, Steve made it a very pleasant occasion. A stroll through the gallery, featuring pottery, jewellery, print work and paintings was a lovely way to finish our visit.

Beautiful relaxed venue, good chef presenting tasty well plated food, knowledgable front of house service, good wine list and an engaging host - what is not to love. Oh - and the gallery and the interesting artworks are a bonus. Well worth the detour!

What a fabulous meal! We last visited without kids in 2011 and brought the kids this time. Fabulous food and so kid friendly! The kids serve of pork belly was the best kids meal our 10 year old has ever had and the 2 year olds gnocchi was delicious! My fave was the asparagus gazpacho and the creme brûlée was divine! Wondering if the chef is the same from 2011? So fantastic that 3 and a half years later the food and service is still brilliant. Hope we get back down south quicker this time. Don't want to wait so long for another fabulous lunch here. Thank you!

Deliciously different dinner with excellent service in a lovely location. Great that they are dog friendly on the deck area; we enjoyed a very nice meal on the deck on a cold night but the heaters meant we were very comfortable and our dog was too. Beautiful location and interesting gallery as well. Expensive but worth it for the experience.

Another sensational lunch at The Studio Bistro. We started with the Duck Parfait to share for entree and it was as silky smooth & delicious as I remembered. For mains we decided to try the Beef Ribs to share. This was a generous serve of beef ribs with roasted potatoes& carrots served with broccoli, zucchini & snow peas - it was the best beef ribs I have had. Usually I would steer clear of beef ribs as they can be tough & fatty - these were not. They fell off the bone & were so tender. We decided to over indulge and have dessert- great decision! My husband had the affogato with patron XO which was a nice change from Affogato with frangelico. He also couldn’t resist trying a dessert beer (liefmans kriek brute cherry dessert beer) this was served on iced - it was amazing . I chose the Opera Gateau this was a great choice - it was a work of art served with a wonderful smooth raspberry gelato created by the talented pastry chef. We will be back to try more meals from this great Chef. Thanks Steve & Thales (Chef) for another fabulous meal.

I had a lovely dinner here recently for a friend's birthday and it was as good as the zomato reviewers had suggested. It was quite quiet, but I guess it was a cold & rainy winter evening. The service was friendly, but not intrusive, and the food truly excellent. We enjoyed looking at the art on our way out, too

We enjoyed a lunch at Studio Bistro yesterday. Everything was perfect! The beautiful outdoor setting, friendly/helpful service without being too over the top and best of all the food and wine! We had the fish, beef and gnocchi and everyone raved over their meal. The recommended wine was excellent and an interesting dessert of black sesame semifreddo topped off a relaxing, long lunch 😀

Super impressed by the Studio Bistro. Everything we ate from beginning to end was fantastic. The prawns, quail and Lamb were standouts. Special mention to the house made bread. Matched wines were perfect and healthy pours. Staff were attentive without being obsequious. The best meal we have had in this region. Great value too. Highly recommended.

Originally stopped to just check out the gallery but decided to stay for lunch as there was some live music happening. Glad we did. Started with Charcuterie which was lovely moving onto mains of gnocchi with pumpkin and boccochini for the wife and snapper and side green salad for me. Both delicious and suitably accompanied by a local SSB. Then to finish with a cheese board and moscato. Could have stayed all afternoon. Music was lovely in a secluded garden location and service was great.

Gorgeous, relaxed, light-filled surrounds with an art gallery providing a unique vibe. Courteous service, food was beautifully presented. Dessert was a slight let down due to the cake being dry and the wrong coffee brought to us. Overall, a really nice place to have a meal.

Went here for lunch today & found it fantastic. Had the dumplings for an entre & the Marron ( which can be a bit boring) for the main. Both dishes were very very good.
Interesting wine list . Chose a stunning Barossa Shiraz ( Mr Black ) not cheap @ around $80 a bottle but well worth it.
Very good service so all in all around a 9 out of 10. There are some very good restaurants down here but this would have to be in the top 2 or 3 if not the number 1. Will be back. Peter Hugall.

Great atmosphere with eye catching artworks. Ordered the twice cooked pork belly, Duck with Malaysian Curry and Beef fillet. Absolutely loved the duck with curry as it tasted quite similar to the fish head curry we had in Singapore. Beef was nice and tender, just needs more sauce and seasoning. Service was attentive and great! Will be back again.

It was a bit of a ‘date night’for FoxyFi and I as RB was only due into Margaret River the next morning. Following a really good rating on Zomato.com, we decided to give Studio Bistro a try. Given that it was also in the entertainment book, why not?. The place hosts an art gallery as well, so as you wander into the restaurant, you will see local arts and craft. A little something different without a doubt.

Just finished an awesome lunch at this place. Nice setting, peaceful but enough atmosphere. Had squid tentacles, bread with balsamic and EVO and venison chorizo for starters, all very good, squid tentacles werr the stand out. Mains lamb belly, eye fillet, salad and the pork belly entree. Probably the best steak i have had out in years, comments on the lamb were similar. Salad was fresh but hard to rate for me and pork belly good. Would have been 5 out of 5 other than the pork belly was a little dry. Will be back for sure if im down this way.

The Boy is the youngest in a family of three boys. His oldest brother still lives in Perth, but his other brother is a nuclear physicist who lives in Boston. His brother has lived in the US for over ten years and sadly is unlikely to ever return to Australia permanently. Every couple of years, his brother tries to return back to Perth with his lovely American wife to spend time with the family. Because American employees don’t receive as much annual leave as we do in Australia, they both struggle to get time off work and will save up their leave for a few years before being able to visit us.

Our waiter Jordan was very attentive and approachable however they did seem to be running understaffed. Very happy with the wines on offer by the glass.. Will definitely visit again!

Thumbs Up. My partner and I went there for the first time a few week ago. Below is our review on our recent dining experience and hopefully is helpful to others:

1) Ambience - Overall the restaurant offers a great atmosphere for dining in with local arts and craft display.
2) Service - We received a warm welcome from the owner of the restaurant at the entrance of the gallery who then guided us to the entrance of the restaurant. Unfortunately, this pleasant first impression did not last long after we were rudely greeted by the floor manager who pointed out that we were late for our reservations despite having explained to him that we have rang earlier to reschedule our reservation. Without a courteous apology for the mixed up, we were ushered to our seats without even being offered any drinks or menu. Luckily the floor staffs are very friendly and helpful and quickly attended to our orders.
3) Food - We started off with tempura soft shell crab which was absolutely divine and the tempura batter was light and crunchy accompanied with refreshing green paw paw salad. For mains, we had the MR venison loins and angus beef fillet both beautifully seasoned and cooked to perfection.

Overall, we would definitely return to the Studio Bistro & Gallery and recommend others to give this restaurant a go.

Great food! Love it.. My partner and I went here recently and it was lovely. The service was absolutely wonderful and very helpful. The wine we chose was not in stock, however they went out of their way to find one similar. We started off with the Swordfish and soft-shell crab, each were excellent. The flavours on the Swordfish dish, amazing! Then we shared the venison loin which was also very tasty. The desserts we had were also great. Could not fault this place, apart from the wine list which I think could have done with some more options. Highly recommend.

Outstanding Food!. One of the best in the region. Food is innovative, well presented and more importantly, tasty. It is obvious the team of chefs know what they're doing. Must visit when you are in the region. The squid entree is one of the best executed dishes. The only downer on this occasion was the long wait (1 hour 10mins) between entree and mains. Apparently the waitress did not tell the kitchen we are done with our entree. A sour note to an otherwise outstanding culinary experience. Would normally stay for dessert but another possibility of a 1+ hour wait between courses is too much.

Loved it. I seriously cannot fault this place, we’ve been before for lunch and loved it but never in the evening so this was the first time for dinner on Friday night.
I had Ocean Trout which came served with a gorgeous broth and Asian greens, cooked to perfection which I was so thrilled with as it’s my favourite fish. My hubby had the eye fillet once again cooked perfectly, beautifully tender and extremely tasty. For desert we had a pineapple tart tartin which was ok but a bit burnt on the bottom from the caramelisation. The wait staff were very friendly and the lighting inside and outside the restaurant was dimly lit but bright enough not to be dark, very nice atmosphere. Will definitely be returning again.

Amazing food. Beautiful setting, we had the degustation and couldn't fault a thing! Service was fantastic- esp the young French girl and the German waiter as we also did the matched wines... Sword fish/ tuna and the parfait were the standout dishes also the broth served with the salmon was to die for. The duck was cooked perfectly and the cheeses to finish were lovely. Oh and beautifully made cosmopolitans :) and to top it off the lovely German waiter even drove us home after he finished as the taxis were a half hour plus wait..... Will definitely recommend and be back

You must dine here. Have been twice this year for lunch and must say its some of the best food and service in WA. Have tried the beef fillet, lamb and fish dishes - all were superb, and generous portions. The cheeses are lovely too. Highly recommended for a special meal. Be aware though it can be quite warm dining outdoors on the deck as the afternoon sun comes across it. Not that this would stop us returning!

Excellent and Imaginative Food. Booked dinner for 2 on Saturday night. Slightly alarmed when a minibus turned up with 10+ people for a 30th birthday party. No need for alarm as we enjoyed a perfect evening being surrounded by interesting artwork. Excellent wait-staff who don’t leave you stranded after the main course.
Separate gluten free menu.
Starters: Scallops, Artichoke emulsion [with a strong taste of seeded Dijon mustard, which was a bit overpowering], artichoke chips and orange pearls. $19
Mains: Cone bay barramundi, leek and pancetta confit, green pea veloute, chive crème fraiche – cooked perfectly. Generous portions. $36. Choice of leaves/beans or hand cut chips $6. Chat potatoes would have been preferred. But a beautifully cooked and imaginative dish.
Deserts: Pistachio crème brulee, rhubarb compote. $14 Brulee delicious but the pistachio made the dish extremely rich, but the compote does cut through the richness to some degree..
Cheese [Lingot d’Argental] with crackers, quince, fruit and walnuts. Again very generous portions. Cheese soft and served at room temperature. $14
This must be one of the few restaurants that serve wine by the carafe [from $24 for 375 mls] and not just house wine. Excellent varied wine list.

Love it. Second visit to this wonderful restaurant, a real delight. Lovely menu, make sure you leave room for dessert, we ordered the brulee and the chocolate mousse and beetroot cake and both were superb.

Wow!. This is one of the best meals I've had recently. The venison chorizo and goats curd were great starters. The barramundi and beef fillet mains were sensational. It was the most tender piece of steak I've had in a very long time. Great setting and great service too. A must do in the south west!

One of the best restaurants "Down South". This bistro really is a standout. They deliver a range of French inspired fare using local ingredients, all beautifully plated with, most importantly, quality to boot. There are so many appealing dishes I find it hard to resist having all courses on a visit here!

There's a very extensive wine list featuring both local and international wines at fair prices. The restaurant, nestled alongside the gallery is very contemporary, or outside there's a courtyard which has a more relaxed vibe.

A highlight for me is the Charcuterie plate - I'm a pâté fiend and their silky smooth chicken liver parfait is one of the best you'll come across in W.A.

We can not remember the last time we ate food this good. This bistro has a quiet confidence; which undoubtebly under-promises but over-delivers. All the dishes contained a highly balanced depth of flavour that is often lacking in dining currently. Plates were perfectly portioned, a wonderful selection of choice with out being overbearing, enough exciting and trending techniques demonstrated to prompt many exclamations of delight, all which was complimented with impeccable service. It was a wonderful experience for a day when the weather demanded little more than an extended lunch! And this was with a party of four adults and twin toddlers.

Excellent degustation. We were staying just down the road and booked at the studio due to it being within very convenient walking distance. Next time I think we will book accommodation based on how close it is to the Studio! We celebrated our anniversary and my birthday with the degustation, it was absolutely delicious, highlight being the pork belly. The service was excellent, Sophie proved knowledgable and was lovely. The children had steak which was cooked perfectly. An excellent meal, rivalling Perth's best.

Excellent. Went for dinner here with my partner - everything was great. Service was attentive, had a very good wine list with a good range of wines from all over the place and some very reasonably priced. I had the goats cheese souffle for entree which was really lovely & then i had the fish with quinoa salad for main -the serves were huge & all the flavours went really well together - would definitely have the fish again. My partner had the steak which was massive and cooked to perfection & the hand cut chips were beautiful. We shared the macarons with icecream for dessert - all were beautifully presented & we will definitely return. Best value meal we had down south for our entire trip & a lovely setting.

We'd had a recommendation so had high expectations. On a glorious crisp afternoon they somehow managed to have the inside warmer(stuffy), than outside and being seated in a doorway didn't help. Our hesitant waiter seated us then left: it was the start of a Faulty Towers dining experience...he was well intended but inexperienced and untrained. He seemed to forget our water- took forever to take our orders and that was just the beginning. We sat with uncleared starters for almost 40 minutes; WE asked for our mains to be called; we had to top up our own wine (a big no no when you're licensed) and good luck trying to get water. The meals were good; so chef and team were doing their bit. Front of house was a disaster. As the afternoon wore on, graveyards of dirty glasses/ empty bottles/ soiled napkins etc littered every table and an outside platform; did not create a pleasant vista.. Ironically the busy and clearly unhappy staff walked back and forth delivering food- oblivious to the clearing needed-walking thru without picking anything up- if it wasn't so irritating it would've been funny. Our second bottle of wine needed decanting- more comedy- only half was decanted? the empty white wine bottle left in its watery graveyard ice bucket for the remainder of the afternoon. Dessert and coffee? A coffee was sent back and at that point it was clear our poor waiter had lost it. A replacement coffee came about 30 minutes later, once we'd asked for the bill. It was obvious that no one was in charge and no one really knew what was going on. It was busy but there were lots of staff- the just weren't working as a team.
The meals we ordered were all fresh and tasty - they were the redeeming part of the experience.
Hospitality is a service industry- the wine list and menu can't do it alone.
Our waiter 'Jack' was well intended- did the best he could, but was completely out of his depth.

Absolutely excellent!. I had been wanting to visit this restaurant for many months and am so glad I finally got out there! We were attended by two very lovely wait staff, who were knowledgeable in their recommendations and made us welcome. We ordered some chips with aioli to start and were told by our waitress they were awesome, she wasn't wrong. Crispy and golden on the outside but fluffy on the inside. easily some of the best chips I've ever had. Following that my partner ordered Tenderidge fillet steak with royal blue chips with Cafe de Paris and roasted mushroom and I ordered the Grilled Haloumi, ratatouille, sautéed spinach, pumpkin chutney and baby herbs. We both adored our meals. My husband gushed over how incredibly tender his steak was and that it melted in his mouth.

We couldn't fault them and I have to say it was the best meal I've had in recent memory with Cullen Winery being a close second. The setting is idyllic, very relaxing and scenic. Next time we visit we plan on having a very empty stomach so we can indulge in a 3 course meal.

The prices are very reasonable. Chips and aioli at $6, my haloumi main was $28 and my husband's steak was $35. Serving sizes are as they should be, we cleared our plates but left full and content. Highly recommended!

able to get a seat even though they had been booked up for a week. We had the degustation and it was awesome! The table of four next to us said it was the best meal they had in years and we agree. The fillet steak was perfect, salmon was divine and the dessert was to die for!! Make sure you concentrate at night time when looking for this place or you will drive passed.

Amazing food!! it's such a lovely change from other places we have visited, not trying to be anything overly flashy or following what everyone's else is doing! Keeping the food humble but fantastic, Attention to detail!!!! Perfect use of seasonal flavours! And extremely reasonably priced!! We both had a starter to share, entree and main meal each, and shared a dessert, two drinks each from an amazing drinks list which shows a true knowledge of wine! And our bill was $167! Very fair prices indeed and they also had a weekday special two coarses and a drink for $45! The team here really cares about food and dining!!! because everything is perfect! Relaxed, happy atmosphere! Staff are amazing an all to happy to help! Always close by but not nagging you at the table, a very rare balance! And you can just tell the staff want to be there! What a find !!!!!. If you blink you can miss this one. The setting is idealic and staff attentive but no overly so, we asked that the dog (yes dogs allowed) be moved away from us as although dog lovers ourselves we didn't appreciate the fact that it made a bee line for us when we sat down and this was no trouble for the waitress to ask the adjoining table to move their dog.
After much deliberation our choice for all 3 courses were excellent, which is very hard to find as usually one of us would have rather had what the other was eating.
A definite tick and we'll be recommending to anyone who is down this way.

This beautiful treasure was recommended to us by a gorgeous girl at the newly opened credaro vineyard. in a blink and you'll miss it lovely location, we enjoyed warm bread with olive oil, balsamic vinegar and french butter. then we had fillet steak and paris butter with hand cut chips and crunchy topped pork belly with creamed leeks with a delightful baked fig stuffed with taleggio cheese. different, daring and so delicious! service was warm, friendly and caring. will definitely be back with hopefully enough room for dessert which sounded very tempting!! two thumbs up!

Best meal in the south west. The degustation dinner with the accompanying wines were truely the best meal I have ever had in the south west.( cape lodge included). Service was friendly and for a wet windy friday night their was a great atmosphere in the cozy restaurant. if you don't have a wonderful experience i apologise

Being a local u can get a little slack getting our to new venues but boy I wish I wasnt. We rang sat am and the lovely staff told us they would try to wait for us if we got there late being local shop owners we have to work. We rang through our order just before 3 and drove on out. What a stunning afternoon. The food was simply divine. The ambience stunningly serene and after we finally cleared out we got chatting to the lovely lady who had patiently waited for us to find she was the owner and she had happily waited with her beautiful bub whilst we lolled away the afternoon over a bottle of wine. Awesome food. Great hosts. I hope they continue to show amazing service.

Bypass the wineries and head straight here.... After reading a great review in the STM earlier this year, I had high expectations of The Studio.
I can happily say that it lived up to its reputation and my expectations.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience here. We had a fantastic meal which started with fresh baguettes served with Cooladerra farm olive oil, balsamic, french butter and warm ligurian olives. We both ordered a main of Cone Bay barramundi, celeriac puree, with a fennel, orange and pistacio salad. Everything was sublime. My only disappointment was that the above meal, accompanied with some great cocktails left us too full to sample their desserts.

Best Steak I've ever had!. Excellent service, beautiful setting. Great wine list. Loved it!

The sumptuous entrees all looked fabulous and tasted brilliant.

I ordered the fillet steak and can honestly say it was the best steak I've ever had. Perfect consistency and taste, melts in your mouth.

The desserts were the perfect portion and the presentation was beautiful.

After dessert we had coffee in the sitting chairs on the lawn. A great way to end the meal.

Warm and friendly. The meal was the finest I have had in a long time. The staff even commented on my shoes (go 80's nike retro), which perfectly complemented the wine, the retarded girlfriend and my fits of rage.

Its very lovely there indeed, and the staff were more than happy to suggest other wineries and restaurants to visit which was nice.

Divine! Will be back in a flash!. After walking in off the street and being told the restaurant was full for lunch, the owner stopped my Mother, who was walking back out, and made a personal effort to have an extra table brought out and set up for us so that we could stay.

We shared a few entrée's which were beautiful (warm olives - who knew warm olives could equate to heaven wrapped around a pip!)
Between the 5 of us, we each ordered a different main and each of us was equally impressed with what was served. My grilled Barramundi, Potato, and grape, fennel, green bean & Persian fetta salad was purely divine.

Little touches like hand cut potato chips with the steak (cooked to perfection), a whole baked fig with the pork saltimbocca, the fantastic quality of the olive oil and balsamic vinegar served with the fresh bread - these are the points of difference that the best restaurants go out of their way to include and it means they get it right every time.

Being in near the Margaret River wine region meant The Studio Bistro boasted a wonderful wine list, with a choice for any budget or palette, even including numerous international varieties.

Being in the commercial design industry, I pay a lot of attention to detail in the design and fit-out as well as the ambiance of all hospitality venues, and I have to say the ambiance in this restaurant is perfectly suited to it's surroundings and diverse clientele. The covered outdoor deck and garden make for beautiful dining all year round, and the interior is warm and inviting while remaining contemporary and still reflecting the organic and natural surrounding environment.

All of my companions to the Studio Bistro and myself would highly recommend this venue next time you are in any neighbouring regions!

There are so many high quality places to choose from, but we started with lunch at The Studio Bistro & Gallery  in Yallingup, which opens for lunch every day except Tuesday and offers degustation dinners on Friday and Saturday nights. There is plenty look at (and buy) in the Studio Gallery, which presents a selection of new Australian artists and studio crafts. There is a working studio with two artists in residence and also a performance stage. You can find more about the gallery here. Incredible hidden gem in Yallingup! The art gallery was so peaceful, with beautiful art to enjoy before heading out to lunch in the garden. The garden was shady and cool despite it being a really hot day! The staff were amazing and the food was equally so! We especially loved the tagliatelle and the wagyu beef share plates.

A great little gem of a restaurant. Service was outstanding, we had to sit outside because of our dog but they set up heaters specifically for us. The food is creative and tasty, very unique flavours that I haven’t encountered before - definitely worth a try. The mulled wine was fantastic, as were the rest of the drinks. If you’re in the area then I thoroughly recommend coming here for dinner! Be sure to book in advance.

First visit for us and we had a great family lunch. Perfect time of year to sit outside in the calm garden setting, share plate food was great and kept coming out from the kitchen at the right pace. We had six selections between the 3 of us and also shared a couple of desserts and a small cheese plate...... All delicious. Relaxing and unrushed atmosphere helped to make this a great choice for an Autumn lunch location.

A fantastic gastronomic experience. If you appreciate fine ingredients that are carefully sourced, cooked to perfection and delivered in an innovative journey through flavour this is the place for you. If you're like Louise below and you're seeking out 'value for money' then perhaps a chicken parmy at the nearest pub might be more your pace. This is a dining experience, and whilst not cheap, you get what you pay for. A fabulously thought out and well executed menu delivers a taste sensation at every turn. My only feedback to the venue would be to improve the sound system, it sounded sterile and hollow, a bit of warm ambiance would help the overall dining experience match the quality of the amazing food on offer.

Did not book a table, and was advised the restaurant was short staffed that lunchtime, so there would be some time to be served. We were in no great rush, so we stayed for lunch. Well, it was well worth the wait! Their own sourdough bread as good as you would get anywhere. Lovely crab tarts , hand cut chips done in wagyu beef fat. All top class! Service is good and staff are friendly. The gallery too has some excellent artwork, and the outlook onto the garden is very pleasant.

The staff are fabulous, our waitress Jasmine was delightful. Each menu features a different local artwork - very clever. Share plates of the freshest local produce. I had a Birthday voucher which I'd left behind & they very kindly still honoured it. I'll be visiting again for sure
