Review Sloane Ranger - Yarra

Chris Price (Pricey)
The chilli scramble is probably the best I have ever had👌🏻The salads and bowls here are also exceptional, and have lots of protein options to add on. The chicken schnitzel is also highly rated. We live locally and my only wish is that they were open on weekends so I could eat here more often! 😋

Best cafe in the area. I’ve tried everything on the menu and it’s all excellent, the chilli scramble is a standout. Great takeaway sandwiches- my favourite is the pumpkin 🎃. Coffee is served quickly and is always fantastic. Staff are friendly and eager to please.

This place has become a bit of a regular brunch spot for us. The coffee's really good and the food's delicious and nicely presented. Service is also pleasant and efficient. Can't ask for anything more than that.

Good food, great service can't ask for more. Coffee is good and service is very very fast, even the food is cooked quickly! Staff are also able to manage crowds well and are all very attentive to the needs of the customers.

Good food & coffee in a convenient location!

Got a takeaway coffee during lockdown. Looks like a restaurant, so will be sure to have some food next time!

Beautiful coffee and fantastic brekkie. What more could you ask for in a city famous for exactly those things?!

Good friendly service! Chilli scramble was really nice, good amount of bacon through it. Probably one of the chilliest scrambleds I have had (which was fine for me but pretty Spicy) 🌶

Will come back for:<br/>+ Chicken Schnitzel <br/><br/>Normally, not a dish I would order, but out on a wimp I did. Am I was glad I did. The crushed chicken was succulent inside and deliciously crunchy on the outside. The accompanying salad was creamy, fresh and matches well with the chicken. The lunch service was packed. The wait staff were friendly and the prices were reasonable for elegant you get In this part of town. I will definitely be back for lunch here.

Coffee was good. Food was well cooked. Options were plenty. Space was nice. Service was poor and unenthusiastic. More effort needed to bring one back for more.

I got a few take away sandwiches today and they were great! <br/><br/>The chicken, avocado and bacon sandwich was super fresh, hot and full of quality ingredients. <br/><br/>My schnitzel sandwich was the 4/5, it was somehow 90% slaw and only 3 tiny bits of chicken but still once I de-slawed it was great. <br/><br/>The drinks were good! The cold chocolate and iced coffee were great, yet served in plastic - oh how I hate plastic after living in Bali - it’s a huge world issue. <br/><br/>Overall it’s a 4.5/5 - wish I had a half star! I’ll be back to have some lunch options soon :)

It was a late brunch time and I was ferociously hungry. I hadn’t had a coffee and I hadn’t eaten. Mmnn not a good start to my day hahaha <br/><br/>My partner recommended this place so off we went. The service was friendly and attentive.<br/><br/>Initially my strong skinny latte was alright. It was a watery and the flavour was ok. Very average. But I saw at another table a man eating brunch with some other people drinking from a large take away cup!? It was odd, especially when their food arrived and the man ate too.<br/><br/>Anyway I digress. The menu item I wanted had literally just sold out so I ordered crispy bacon and scrambled eggs on sourdough. OMGosh the bacon was thick and quite salty but yummy. My scrambled were delicious, light and fluffy. The sourdough was really good but only 1 slice unfortunately.<br/><br/>My partner had smashed avo w a poached egg and I managed to try that and it was also really good but it lacked seasoning. <br/><br/>Overall this was still a good experience.

Hipster cafe food but really good. I particularly love their ranger bowl and chicken schnitzel. Friendly service too. Some of their cold menu items also have ready to go takeaway and its a lot cheaper. Generous serving size i have been back many times.

Sloane Ranger has been on my radar for ages, even before I came to Austrlia. So when it was next on the list to visit I was more than excited for this brunch adventure. <br/><br/>It is tucked away in Richmond, but is a really cool<br/>Looking cafe. It has an outside seating bit and an indoor seating with huge windows. It’s perfect for a hot sunny day. <br/><br/>The food was ace. I ordered their breakfast style bowl and it had sooo many goodies. I asked them to add chicken. The original also comes with avocado but I’m not a fan (sorry) so I asked them to remove it. Everything was perfect. The yolk ran at a good speed and the mushrooms were hands down the BEST I have had in Melbourne by far.<br/><br/>I really like this brunch spot. 9/10

This cafe is okay. I actually came in during a weekday about 2 weeks ago but the waitress said the kitchen had closed. (So I’m guessing the kitchen closes 1 hr and 15 minutes before closing time). That being said, I always like to give cafes a proper try before giving my feedback... So here it is; My partner and I came in for some brunch and were seated quite promptly. (The waitress -not the same one as the first time- didn’t seem very friendly/ happy.) I did like the fact that the drinks and food came out fast, a very good service for those who have a busy schedule during the day. We ordered the ‘Strawberry Bircher Muesli’ which was fine. The ‘Avocado Bruschetta’ on the other hand could have been better. The kale and lime pesto overpowered the entire dish, making it very salty to eat through. The avocado was plain in comparison, and the egg and toast helped only a little in trying to balance that saltiness. (We did scrape off as much pesto as we could but the flavour was strong). The coffee was nice. Overall, I probably wouldn’t travel all the way to eat here but if I lived or worked close by, this would be an okay cafe to go to.

This is located in the relatively light traffic street of busy Richmond. They serve good coffee and do have some light desserts, cakes etc. A good place to spend some time and do your work in a quiet place.

They make delicious coffee, with quick service, even when there is a line. Their coffee is strong too. The only thing is the price -4 dollars for a small coffee is a bit steep, especially for the area.

Amazing mushroom omelette! Very generous serving of goats cheese!!! Fantastic coffee & lovely interior. Good atmosphere. Would definitely recommend!

Best coffee and brunch in Melbourne. Can't go wrong with the Chili Scramble or the Burger, plenty of healthy options too. Staff are super friendly and can help you chose what to eat when you just can't decide.. So many great options.

HANDS DOWN BEST CHILLI SCRAMBLED IN MELBOURNE! <br/><br/>Please never ever EVER take the chilli scrambled off your menu. It is freaking amazing.<br/><br/>Coffee here is delicious too! Super cute cafe with a great vibe. Staff are always very friendly too.

Amazing coffee!!! Came here for a work meeting, beautiful looking venue, close to the train station so ideal for meetings. Great service and perfect coffee. Will come back!

The cafe has a pretty cool modern vibe to it. We ordered two coffees which surprisingly took longer than usual to make (approx 10 mins) as we waited for the coffee we ordered the special and some smashed avocado with eggs. Both dishes were average to good I'd give them a 3.5 however I've given the 2 star rating because of the 30 min wait it took to make these dishes. Taking into consideration there was only a few people seated at the time. As shown in first picture we waited a fair bit after finishing the coffee to be served.

We have eaten here twice in the last 2 weeks. Both breakfast options but I can not fault it. The veggie brekkie bowl was delicious and the scrambled eggs are the best around by a mile. Definitely recommend. Can’t wait to go back to try more options<br/>. Time and time again we have been back here and every time the food is top quality and reliably good. Can’t fault it.

Had lunch here last Saturday with 2 friends. I'd wanted to check it out after hearing how beautiful it was architecturally. Its striking & modern but not noisy which meant we didn't have to yell to hear each other! I had the Vietnamese chicken salad and it was delicious & just the right size. Others had the Ranger Bowl & eggs and mushrooms. Everyone loved their meals. Looking forward to returning and also checking out what else is in this great area.

Literally around the corner. Good vibe, ok coffee and good avo toast. Overall, it’s good. Not great, but it does have the potential. One thing I do love about it’s not over crowded with Melbourne’s basic brunch crowd. Just a good local with the room to breathe.

Superb coffee !! Constantly good every time, in fact one of the best almond lattes in Melbourne.  The service is fantastic and the atmosphere is very modern and contemporary.   My choice of cafe every time I'm in the area.

It is staggering the number of above average cafes now open in Melbourne. Once, you could look through anyone’s list of the top 20 cafes in Melbourne, and it was easy to have tried half of them. These days, that is simply not the case.<br/><br/>In fact, there are more good to excellent cafes opening each year then is possible to try. Giving up is strong language, but really the odds of getting around to each and every great Melbourne cafe, from Pascoe Vale to Elsternwick and Beaconsfield to Northcote, is impossible. Why am I talking about this very obvious situation?<br/><br/>It’s because Sloane Ranger opened up several weeks ago, literally a kilometre down the road, and this is the first time Catherine and I have been for breakfast. I did pop-in for coffee once, but that was all. It struck me at the time that staff (including the one looking like an owner) were extra enthusiastic. Not in an annoying way; just genuinely excited about Melbourne cafe life.

If you like overpriced, average food, you'll love Sloane Ranger. <br/><br/>They pull the old trick of making the sandwiches look stuffed with filling but once you bite in, the filling is only on the very edge.<br/><br/>Been there twice, feel ripped off twice.
Delightfullytasty
Sloane Ranger is a relatively new cafe in Cremorne, a short walk from Richmond Station on a side street off Swan Street. Despite some little downsides to the dishes, it was a really enjoyable experience at Sloane Ranger, and worth a try if you're in the Richmond area!

Saturday 19.08.17 at 2pm. <br/>"noun: Sloane Ranger<br/>a fashionable upper-class young woman, especially one living in London."<br/>This is a fitting name for this cafe on Cremorne St - this is indeed a fashionable young venue. <br/>The cafe has a real warm, comfortable feel, a nice retreat with a relaxing feel aided by enjoyable music. <br/>The staff were friendly and warm. <br/>The coffee was tasty and just about perfect. <br/>I tried the Egg White Omelette - this was a really tasty (and healthy feeling) option with a generous portion of salmon. <br/>This is a really nice Brunch option in Richmond.

Best chilli scrambled eggs I've had in a loooong time! Creamy, fluffy and hot hot HOT! OJ never arrived at the table but the coffee made up for it.

Excellent addition to the Melbourne brunch scene. Fantastic modern design with an industrial feel. Great menu too. I ordered the toffee apple crumpets which came with stewed apples, berries, mascarpone, pistachio dukkah and fairy floss. A beautiful and light sweet brunch option.

Sloane Ranger can't have been around too long. Still very fresh and new feel about the place. Located perhaps 50m beyond the Precinct Hotel this place is an attractive venue to cool concrete and stone elements and ceiling high planter boxes. I sat on the communal table facing the bar area. Laid back music was playing quietly in the background which fitted in nicely with the vibe they seemed to be trying to create here. I arrived late morning and the cake and quick food cabinet looked to have been well depleted with a couple of empty shelves. The cafe was perhaps 25% full with plenty of space available. They had a couple of tables outside for smokers or those who were after some winter rays. <br/><br/>I ordered a pineapple pop juice which was a tart blend of apple, pineapple, lemon and mint. I decided to live life on the wild side and order a sweet brunch for a change in the form of the toffee apple crumpets. I asked waiting staff whether this was any good but they hadn't tried it saying it was quite new. My Dr Marty crumpets came out 15 minute later and were visually stunning with berries, floss, pistachio and delicious cooked apples. The combination of textures and flavours worked well together and I didn't find one element overpowering others so it was well balanced from woe to go. Staff here did a great job following up with me as to whether everything was okay with my food and whether I wanted further drinks. There were plenty of other interesting items on this "all day" menu that I need to try one day soon. <br/><br/>A positive plug for family friendly facilities in the form of change tables in the big toilet cubicles. If I ever borrow a niece or nephew they will be handy I'm sure.

Sloane Ranger is a new cafe down the Swan st end of Cremorne street! A little tricky to find a park, you may have to try a side street and walk a little. Sloane Ranger has a slight BAWA (Hawthorn) feel to the space and fit out, most likely because the owner has ties to the Hawthorn beauty 😁. The staff are most welcoming and attentive and definitely not new to the hospitality game which a definite plus for the cafe. Sadly the Dukkah crusted eggs were not available 😣 sounded delicious. We instead chose the baked eggs 🍳 & the Bacon & Barley broth , both came with house made focaccia which was delicious 😋. The baked eggs was creamed spinach and feta, tasty but I think I prefer tomato based baked eggs ( it was a little rich) The bacon & barley broth was both tasty and hearty just the dish for Melbourne winter. The menu may in fact be changing was the word from our favorite wait staff member, so a return visit will be necessary . The coffee was Dukes and was two cup worthy ☕️. ❤️
