Review Yarragon Cafe - Yarragon

Delicious food and smoothies! Can recommend the blueberry smoothie and the smoothie bowl with granola and fresh cut fruit. Lovely staff too. Nice shops and a public toilet nearby. A good little stop.

Yarragon is a great stop over and this cafe always has a good variety of home cooking and good coffee.

Somewhat disappointed. One staff member didn't appear to be highly trained and was confused when I placed our order for two sandwiches, one without onion. Our order was for the two sandwiches and two coffees, the coffees came quickly but the sandwiches seemed to be forgotten, when they did arrive we ate them and walked out of the Cafe 61 minutes after arriving. Other customers were overheard to complain about the service as well and were offered a free coffee. The staff were polite, but the service was slow.

Now called the Piccolo cafe - Just felt the staff were a little lacking in helpfulness and enthusiasm and the cake we had was OK but the bottom was burnt - zucchini and tuna fritters were OK but nothing wow about them

Fantastic. On a recent weekend getaway stopped for lunch. The food was piping hot, served with a smile and brilliant value for money. I wish they were closer as I would eat there all the time.

Not Bad....pretty melting scones. Scones were pretty fluffy and soft and felt straight from the oven. Coffee was good but was served late !!! Waiting queue could be the reason but that doesn't make my coffee taste better.
Cafe should consider increasing staff else the waiting crowd would soon go elsewhere. Overall not a bad experience at this cafe out of nowhere.

Best Coffee in Victoria by miles. I regularly have my morning coffee from this place. Its a joy to sit outside under the umbrella or in their garden reading a book. The owners are always trying to delight every single customer and that shows in the way they have grown in the last one year.
Nice to see you guys on urbanspoon. Definitely 5***** from me.

Best kept secret of Yarragon Village ?!?!!. While returning back from The Lakes Entrance on the princess highway lies this small countryside village - Yarragon and more than anything else it was to take a break from driving that we got down here. Theres a series of cafe and restaurants in this sleepy village but this one caught my attention due to the number of people seated and standing in queue to be delivered food !! We got in and it didn't take long to realise the reason why.

I opted for a roasted lamb roll while my friend ordered a Biriyani. The freshness of the food and spices bowled us over. Food was amazingly delicious and had the touch of motherly home made healthy flavour stamped all over it. The service of this family run unit was seen to be believed.
When the hostess offered to serve us coffee in their garden section, we decided to try it out as well. My friend told me then that it was the best biriyani he has had ever(!), will be happy to share another one (?) and that was enough reason for me to order one out of intrigue. It didn't disappoint at all and I couldn't agree any more with what my friend had said.

While paying the bill (which was shockingly economical for the feast we had had), I encouraged the owner why he wasn't going bigger with advertising (it almost has a non-descript name board outside!) and target more customers when he has such great food to offer. In came the humble response that they have regular customers who know them and spread the good word of mouth. I promised I will do my bit and hence writing this review :
I'm planning to drive down to this beautiful village at the next opportunity with friends just to have food from this family run "Yarragon Cafe". Its definitely more than a cafe - fantastic food served with great passion and tender loving care.

Rating: 5+
Location: 103 Princess Highway
Look for Yarragon Cafe (in red)
Can try with assurance:
Biriyani ( the best )
Lamb Roll ( sumptuous with fresh ingredients)
Coffee ( surprisingly amazing for a family run unit)
I will add more dishes if I find them good during my easter weekend visit.
